From the front office to the dentist they are friendly and do a great job! We drive 2 hours to go there so that tells you how good they are.

2022 My entire experience was handled with care and compassion. I HATE going to the dentist with a passion. My dentist (Dr Johnson) and his entire team are top notch. Clean office, nice warm calming decor. Followed Covid guidelines. Sanitized everything after use. 4/30/23 Although I HATE dental work...I came back for more dental work...root canal, crowns, cleaning, fillings; all done while under dental sedation BOTH times. If it were not for the sedation, I would not have had the courage to have the procedures done. My daughter later told me how gentle and caring Dr Johnson was with me as I slept through my fears. As a resident of Chandler I went to Progressive Dentistry and Orthodontics and was treated with exceptional care. Dr Johnson was very friendly and very informative and I left feeling like I had just left my family's house. He treats his patients with kindness and I will definitely be going back! Two years after a terrible experience at this office I get a collections notice from a cleaning I got! ? No bill ever sent out no phone call telling me I owed any money or for a service I did not receive. I should I say the BAD SERVICE I received. Now you are sending me to collections? Really? Two years later? This is Im the worst dental office I have ever been to. Thanks a lot progressive crappy dentist. You have my phone number. You called me the day It was sent to collections but did not bother to leave a message. JERKS! I always pay my bills but this one I will fight like hell not to pay. The dentist told me I needed a cap on the right molar when One on the left was cracked in half. I had to have that one extracted. Now u want $147? I have not worked in a year. Great experience with Progressive Dentistry, Dr Johnson is very personable and explains all your options. No pressure, gives you all the facts and let's decide how you want to proceed. Horror Story Dental work: 9 weeks ago I received an add in the mail for cleaning, x rays etc. I went to this dentist. 4.6 stars! Gorgeous Office! Reputable reviews. I was instructed I had periodontal disease, $1500.00 to correct this over a 7 week period. I agreed. Next 8 days ago, I had $1500.00 of work done for 2 fillings and a crown. Both appointments resulted in an Emergency room visit, antibiotics,steroids & pain killers. This last time, which was last night I went to urgent care, I am now on 5 different medications as well as 3 follow up appointments with my PCP and a referral to a neurologist due to nerve pain on my left side of my face from trauma caused my excessive force with his numbing needle. I am not going back there. I want everyone to know this place was horrible to me. I am going somewhere else.I am so sad this place could do this to someone and then turn around and blame me because I am not healing correctly. I'm new to the area and received a postcard in the mail offering x-rays, cleaning, and exam for only $19 (first time patients). I called to set up an appointment and they were able to schedule me for the following morning, which was awesome. In a nutshell, this is why you should go to Progressive: -Fast scheduling -They were on time when I got there -Fast and easy digital x-rays -My hygienist was AMAZING! She's definitely the best I've ever had. -Super thorough cleaning which is the most important thing to me -Dr. Gafni spent a lot of time reviewing the x-rays and talking to me about my dental health which made me feel good...and he's cute! -I paid exactly $19 and wasn't pressured to schedule another appointment I'm super picky about my teeth and dentist and Progressive exceeded all my expectations. I was there for emergency care and arrived in excruciating pain because of an infected tooth that needed to be pulled and instead of being taken care of, all they did was put me through a session of inquisitive questions on why I went to their Office and did not go to my former Dentist instead, with whom I have had treatment on that tooth before. (Well it was obvious that it was because the former Dentist did not do a good job)!! I left and looked for another Dentist, whom just pulled the tooth with no questions asked. Let me start by saying Do Not Establish care here. I went for a cleaning and specified I was only there for services covered by my insurance. At the end of my cleaning I tried to schedule an appointment for my 6 month cleaning and the office manager said I couldn't because I refused to schedule an appt for a deep cleaning because I had gum disease... Well I got a second opinion and was told I did not have gum disease and that I did not need a deep cleaning, which Isn't covered by most insurances and mine is one that didn't cover that service. The office manager was rude and bothered that I only wanted services that my insurance covered. Overall, they sold me on a Polish for $37, which I agreed to pay for even if my insurance didn't cover it, which I knew they didnt. But then I got an EOB from my insurance saying I owed for X-rays. I called my insurance to question the bill and they said progressive billed for two sets of xrays, one was covered and the other wasn't. I asked my insurance if I was responsible for Progressive's error to confirm the second set of xrays was covered and they said no, so I called progressive back to tell them so and they said, "they're not an insurance based practice and they bill my dental insurance out of courtesy and that they don't verify beforehand with insurances if a service theyre providing is covered". Ive never had a billing issue like this before and I've gone to three other dental practices because I've moved three times. My advice is avoid this place! read more

This office has some management issues. Scheduled appointment at 1:45, showed up 15 minutes early and was informed my appointment was an hour ago. This could have been a plausible story, however the time slot was not one I would ever schedule. Not a single person in the waiting room, zero other cars in the parking lot and they asked me to reschedule. If they have this much trouble scheduling an appointment, I certainly don't want them doing anything in my mouth. read more

I went in for a wisdom teeth surgery consultation and was charged with a pre-authorization that ended up being less than half of what my insurance company would cover (I understand that's not necessarily the office's issue). The problems arose when I went in to have my surgery done. I was asked for my card for payment (care credit) and was told it was denied even though the available balance was the max amount on the card and the charge was less than 30% of that. Luckily, my stepmom is a supervisor at Care Credit and told me that the only issue should be operator error. Typically carriers for Care Credit will have a separate terminal to conduct those specific transactions. I had to charge my personal card and went back in two days later to request a refund and change my method of payment (back to care credit). I was told that I would have to wait to be serviced since there were other patients(one patient who was already being seen by a hygienist). I was also told the refund request would take 48 hours to process and be accepted or denied and I would receive a call from the office to notify me of the status. No request was placed. No call was received. Unethical customer service. I felt I was discriminated against because of my age, seeing as I'm "too young to know finances work". Its unfortunate to have this experience seeing as I've had pleasant experiences when going in for cleanings and zero issues with payment. I recently found this office. I am the definition of the "coward" when it comes to a dentist. If Dr. Johnson had been my dentist from the start, then I probably wouldn't have been that way. After not having been to the dentist "for a while" - I went to this office and they were so nice and caring. Took time to talk me through treatment options & they have sedation options - WOOHOO!! No judgement or shaming.. just asking how they could help me now. I have had several procedures done and its all been a great experience so far. I can't say enough nice things about everyone there. Still disappointed with the end result of my wisdom teeth surgery. Food gets caught in it and not to mention my family also went their and they shaved way too much enamel off of my mothers front tooth and they're now uneven. The staff is friendly but that doesn't make up for quality of the dentists work. Wont recommend especially for cosmetic work and if you are a perfectionist like me. read more

Very very disappointed with this unprofessional dentist. All they did was try to up sell me sealants, fluoride, deep cleanings over and over during my visit. I have been told that my teeth are in great shape. All I came in for as a new patient was my annual cleaning which is supposed to be preventative (covered at $0) and then they tried to charge me $53 at the end for a "deep cleaning" which it definitely was not! Saw an ad in the mail, I went in for Exam, X-rays and cleaning. I even set up an appointment for my husband too. The first visit was good for me (I saw Dr. Pope) but my husband said they didn't even clean his teeth(he saw Dr. Johnson). Our visit was at the beginning of Feb and we didn't receive our gift cards until May 22nd. I still went ahead and got two fillings there by Dr. Johnson even though he didn't see me at my first visit. I had my fillings done on May 8th and one of my fillings is still very sensitive when I eat food, I have switched to eating on the other side because it hurts. Another thing is that they wouldn't bill my insurance (even though they did for my first visit) I ended up overpaying them by $60 because my insurance covered more than what Progressive quoted me. I am still waiting for my refund. I have called Shannon several times she said she would call me when she reviewed my billing. I called a couple weeks ago and was told by a different person that she can't give me a refund even though it shows I have a credit because the manager is on medical leave. Mean while I'm out $60 until they can get their stuff together. And if I wouldn't have even looked at the EOB from my insurance company they probably would have just kept my money. They wanted me to pay upfront the day of my appt and want to drag their feet to return my money. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please don't let the gift card incentive fool you. $25 is not worth going through this. read more

My first visit I had my teeth cleaned, and not Dr. Jared but the other dentist was rude - I'm talking about the taller, blonde guy that looks a bit bloated in the face. He seemed very huffy and bossy towards me, not sure why. I should have left right away due to his attitude, instead of giving him a chance. After showing me my x-rays he just left and then I checked out. After I got home I realized he hadn't even given me the usual mouth exam that any dentist does after you get your teeth cleaned. This office unethically addressed my husband's dental care; they ran an extra x-ray and conducted preventative extra treatment without first explaining to my husband that both of these would not be covered under our benefits so that HE COULD DECIDE IF HE wanted them done anyway. After receiving a bill in the mail for these services I personally called them and even had United Health Care call them to reverse these unethical charges as the office has access to our benefit information at time of service. The office has not called me back though they promised me they would to see if the dentist would reverse the charges. All I have received so far for correspondence is an aggressive note attached to another copy of the bill to pay the bill now. WE ARE NOT going back and I will professionally advise (as I am a practicing primary care physician in AZ) on here and in person against any patient from going there. read more

I have been going to Progressive Dentistry for a few years now and I am very happy. So much so, I recommended my grandmother and cousin go there too! Lori, the hygienist, is kind, gentle, informative, and friendly. She takes diligent notes on my sensitivities and preferences to ensure my continued and improved comfort - this is above and beyond for an office that sees me twice a year. The Dr. is thorough and experienced. I have even received a personal follow-up phone call (from the Dr.) after a visit that required a shot and made it particularly hard for me, a person with a fear of needles. For this particular visit, they provided me with different anxiety reducing options to help ease my stress - they wanted to help me feel as comfortable as possible. The office is clean and the front desk staff is informative (they helped me choose next year's insurance!) and friendly.
