Project coffee is one of the best cafés in the area! It is a great place to get some food, and some craft coffee drinks! I have been coming here for a while, and i have tried many plates, i was super surprised at first, at the level of quality and the flavor, for the food and that it was all 100% vegan, everything there is. I can always count on them to provide a calming environment to hang out and or work. Not only is the food wildly yummy (non-vegan people seriously will enjoy it too!), but the people who work there are usually pretty awesome and nice as well. One important thing is that this place only serves vegan food, and the only milk they have is oat milk, so if you're going to expect any other milk don't. And try to go in with no expectations, especially if you are not a vegan, or you just don't drink oatmeal usually. They don't have any other milk seriously. I've asked. But the oat milk is really delicious, and they even have an oat shake! But it is nice to see a cool, new, fresh face in the businesses of Sarasota! Especially if you get one, where it's not super common in this states, and city. Diverse, tasty, and good quality. The only thing I don't like is when you leave you will smell like Panini press smoke, I don't know if anyone realizes this but sometimes some cafés use that, and it is too smoky; that's probably the only negative comment I have, along side being a little bit too expensive. Regardless it's a great place definitely want to check out at least once if you haven't. Whether you are vegan or not, you're sure to enjoy Project Coffee! This place has grown on me over the last year. It's become a great spot for working and to bring the family for a healthy breakfast and coffee option. The food is amazing, probably in our top 3 for breakfast food in SRQ. The coffee is good, and the environment is bright and lively. My only gripe is that the music can sometimes be a little loud if you're trying to work or talk, but lately it's been great, so maybe they've been making adjustments. The staff is always super friendly, and the food comes out fast. Definitely a great local spot! read more

Terrible spot to work from with spotty wifi and expired coffee roasts. They blast you with music to the point that you can't have a conversation while selling coffee that is a month past the roast date for $24 a retail bag. This place is billed as a 3rd wave coffeeshop, but they missed that wave by ~20 years along with the quality of their $7 cup of coffee; however, they kept the elitist hipster attitude with no customer service marketed towards for a younger clientele. Lastly, $12 for a slice of avocado toast is just insane. read more

I visited this coffee shop in beautiful Sarasota, FL this morning for the first time. I was visiting from Colorado. It is set in an urban setting, has lots of big windows to let the bright sun in, is simply decorated with plants and other ornamental things hanging from the ceiling, is a "vegan coffee shop" (whatever that means), greeted me when I entered the cafe, were friendly, their medium roast was really delicious with caramel flavoring, the dining room and tables were clean, music (including some with raunchy lyrics enough to make me never return again) was playing, and their free WiFi worked well. read more

This vegan coffee shop had friendly staff, good tasting coffee, and my friend enjoyed her granola and chia pudding. They now have half a dozen food items. However, I probably won't be back because my main interest was finding a place with good outdoor seating, and it is modest at best with no shade as per photo. They started allowing in-person seating so I have a chance to update my review. Project Coffee is even better when you have the chance to sit indoors -- from the minimalist design to the comfy seats and verdant plants, they have created a space that's worth spending time in. Since my last review, I've also had their hot chocolate and green smoothie. The hot chocolate was one of the best hot chocolates I've ever had. For real. Baristas and owners are extraordinarily kind and make the experience worth doing. As someone who's vegan and goes to coffee shops regularly, I am constantly nervous about whether baristas thought I said "whole milk" instead of "oat milk" -- but no worries here!!! It's all Oatly. Absolutely delicious! This secretly vegan coffee shop is a gem! I wasn't sure about breakfast here having seen the terms sausage, egg and cheese but when we walked up to the counter to order, the cashier (who also doubles as a food runner) assured me that everything is vegan as the menu indicates in small font on the bottom. Honestly, if I wasn't a vegan and hadn't searched for that, I really wouldn't have known. I ordered the Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit w/ Cayenne Maple and a chia pudding to-go. She forgot to ring my husbands waffle up so we had to go back and order it, getting another coffee each because the cappuccino with oat milk was so good. I'm not sure if they have any other milk alternatives but the oat milk was delicious. We ended up splitting the biscuit, which honestly would have been enough for me but my husband still wanted the waffle and when it came out a few mins later, it was so worth it. Yay for fully vegan restaurants!! The food was delicious. I think it's even good for non vegans. We have tried the breakfast sandwiches, tacos, burritos, waffles, their chocolate cake, 2 of their cookies, and a latte. I enjoyed it very much. Only thing I would recommend is if the restaurant can carry ketchup. Some people like having ketchup with their potatoes. They didn't have any and looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for some. Also, they pour the syrup on your waffle ahead of time. It was too much. It would be better if on the side, that way the customer can put the amount to their liking. Also, the waffle becomes soggy if you have a breakfast sandwich or something you're eating before. Another downside was coffee was not very hot. Oatmilk was probably still cold or not heated enough. Otherwise good restaurant. Would come again! read more

The coffee shop on S Pineapple Ave became my favorite one in Sarasota when I first visited it back in 2021. A very clean and modern place with exceptional coffee, great vegan food options, and welcoming personnel won my heart on my very first visit. Normally I visit this place several times a month noticing that now it's not so good anymore. They've changed their menu and removed some of my favorite dishes, including vegan quiche. Sometimes some of the staff is rude. But my biggest complaint is that now they play very loud hardcore punk music. It gives me an instant headache (can't help it, it's just my personal reaction to this type of music). Not to offend anyone! I deeply respect everyone's music preferences and understand that every person has rather unique music taste. Yes, it's not possible to accommodate everyone. However, there are many "neutral" music options that would be at least acceptable for most people. I would still give a 5 star for the coffee and interior design though. read more

As a vegan, it is awesome to see a coffee shop exist that is purely vegan. The avocado toast with the egg substitute was great minus being overly drenched in oil. While it's my first time, I would eat here again but ask for no oil on the avocado toast. Many vegans try to do little to no oil. With the avocado toast, it was really the only flavor I could taste - talk about a heavy hand in oil pouring!! The cappuccino was great. Worst experience I've ever had. Me and my wife drove 30 minutes to eat at this place for our first time. Walked in 30 minutes before closing and apologized knowing they were close to closing (really just being respectful). They let me and and my wife look at the menu for 5 minutes while we discussed the different food items we were going to purchase in front of them only to be told by 1 of the male workers when we went to order that we can only order an açaí bowl, oatmeal, and matcha. I wish I didn't have my time wasted and get my hopes up to eat only to be let down by the entire business's laziness to decide to start cleaning up and shutting down the kitchen 30 minutes prior to closing. This type of business practice disgusts me including the attitude that the blue eyed, bearded, male worker gave me when I mentioned it. If you're going to shut down the kitchen 20-30 minutes to closing maybe you should change your hours or get some workers or an owner that aren't lazy and that value customer service over the opportunity to get home early. Not to mention the worker told me that "we'll be alright" when I mentioned how they were losing money by shutting everything down as I was going to spend approximately $70 plus tip. Now I will never go back to this place again and ensure other vegan friends of mine to never go there as well. Absolutely terrible customer service and disgusting behavior by the employee. read more

He!l Yea the Heady Espresso was amazing! Great all vegan coffee shop with breakfast menu. Beautiful location and interior decor (except for candles burning plants smh) Acceptable bathroom. Friendly accommodating staff. We got the Heady espresso which was the best thing and a solid quad espresso. Two ganache filled sugar coated doughnuts which were tasty but the chocolate filling was semi sweet leaning bitter. The giant hash brown was crispy and huge but needed salt and wound up being mighty greasy. The breakfast sandwich was ok the egg was great fluffy and speckled with chives, the bun was dense and the same greasy hash brown was on it. We ordered a cinnamon bun but it was forgotten so we picked it up to go on our way out.(turned out to be pretty tasty really cinnamony and tender in places) I got a bag of beans to go they roast in house and they are delicious. I will try other breakfast items if we find ourselves back in Sarasota. read more
