Chicken fried rice, filet mignon stir fry, Crispy Saigon Chicken Rolls, Salt & Pepper Fried Prawns, garlic noodles

My husband and I love this place. We come here pretty often because we love the food and the service is always great. We always order the same thing- chicken fried rice, filet mignon stir fry, and garlic noodles- so much that the servers remember. The Sunset and margaritas are also our go to! Vanessa's is our go to for date night

We usually have a great time here. For the flavors, consistency, and location in DTWC, its a nice and reliable spot. Pretty much all the dishes are well seasoned and I dont recall getting anything we didn't like. Portions are kinda small for the prices but not terrible.

Great Vietnamese tapas place! Awesome happy hour! Lychee martinis are super dope! I ordered the crispy chicken rolls and homemade chicken pot stickers! They won't disappoint. Their garlic noodles are the best in the area. Friendly staff, tasty food, great happy hour what more can you ask for....oh the Vietnamese coffee martinis!!!!!

I've been coming here since it was located on Main St. I love their happy hour, my go to drink is the luscious lychee martini. All the dishes are very tasty, exotic & creative also has good presentation! I'm not sure of it's Michael or Jimmy behind the bar, he is always kind & inviting! The staff always excellent service. I'll see you for happy hour soon!

Cute aesthetic, spacious, had TVs to watch games. Service was friendly and attentive. Impressive Happy Hour 4pm-6pm daily and 9pm to close on Friday and Saturday. The drinks were nicely balanced. The coffee martini in particular was not too sweet and just boozy enough. The tuna carpaccio was just ok, nothing wrong with it, but just not very impressive.

Why have I never tried Vanessa's until now?! My friends and I came here to celebrate my birthday and we had a great time. The food was delicious! I had a lychee martini, and we all shared salt and pepper tofu, chicken potstickers, beef and chicken stirfry with garlic noodles, beef carpaccio, quail, bananas foster, and creme brulee. It was all so delicious we thoroughly enjoyed our food, except for the quail. It was a bit dry and gamey and bananas foster was okay. Aside from that everything else was solid. Definitely would come back. Love the tapas assortment, great for sharing everything.

Great customer service. The staff were super nice. The drinks came out quickly. I didn't order food but my drink was perfectly mixed. Nice atmosphere inside. No loud music and a NBA game was on.

Our group of 3 sat outside in their lovely side alleyway and feasted on 6 delicious shared small plates plus their scrumptious dessert sampler. This was plenty of food for all of us, although I might have been able to force down one more small plate since everything was so delectable. We ordered: -- Cacio e pepe biscuit -- Esquites (Mexican street corn) -- Empanadas -- Tacos al pastor -- Ceviche tostadas -- Alaskan black cod The black cod dish was seriously incredible and a standout amid the other wonderful dishes. The waiter mentioned it had been on their menu for 22 years and that people traveled there to try it. I can believe it! Speaking of service, it was exceptional. Along with our friendly main waiter, there were other staff refilling water glasses and changing table settings quickly as needed. We waited on nothing but also never felt interrupted. Since Va da Vi IS a wine bar, I should mention that wine was also wonderful. I tried their Pinot Noir flight and enjoyed all 3 of the 3 oz samplings, especially the 2023 Status Quo and the 2023 "Klee" by Roots Wine Co. Is it pricey? Well, a little, but not for the quality. I've eaten at places just as expensive and left far less satisfied. I can see the bill adding up quickly for a group who wants a huge meal, but if you're into just sipping and nibbling on amazing food and wine, come!

Luckily though, we didn't have an issue making a same day reservation. Once we were sat, it did take a bit for our server to get to us, but Wilfredo did great balancing how busy it was. So, we didn't really have an issue with it. He is so great we loved our interactions with him! For food, we ordered the Ceviche Limon, which had a combination of bright and citrusy (a lil spicy) sauce with fresh raw red snapper, squid, and shrimp with fried, crispy calamari tentacles. The combination of textures and flavors was delicious. We did opt in for the taro chips, which was the perfect vessel for the ceviche. We also ordered the Piqueo sampler, which had their chicharron de pollo, beef empanadas, platano frito, and yuca fries. Everything was delicious, though I was not super wowed by the empanadas and the yuca fries were a bit stale. The star of the show was the Fiesta de Carnes, which was their all meat platter with ribeye steak, grilled chicken, and pork belly with roasted potatoes chimichurri and aji amarillo. Ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the grilled chicken was quite literally the juiciest chicken I've had in a while. However, the pork belly was not crisp enough for both me and the amount of fat that the pork belly had. Had it been crispier this dish would have been 10/10. The aji amarillo was so good, not as spicy as other versions I've had before. I think it is worth the $2 they charge for extra. It was simplistic in decor but still fitting for the Peruvian cuisine the place executes well. Will be coming back to try pollo a la brasa or the arroz con mariscos.

OK, it happens but then I read that if you DO make a Rez, there is a $10 deposit per person. Tacky. So we decide to take a chance and walk in, and that was not a problem. Our waitress was nice and service was good. The issue, sadly, is the food. We started with gin and tonics, which the place specializes in. Multiple tonics and gins. The drinks were really weak. I remember going with my husband and the G&T went right to my head. This one might as well have been a sprite. Then came the food. The patatas bravas were basically French fries and the special sauce tasted like ketchup with a dollop of mayo in the middle. The cheese tray, for twenty bucks, consisted of three cheese chunks the size of an old school match box. The fried eggplant with honey was delish. Shrimp were just OK. Mussels with polenta were tasty. Then came the paella, which we shared. That was the most disappointing thing. 4 clams and a sprinkling of dried out, overcooked mystery meat. Pricewise, I'd say it's fair for inflationary times, except for the paella which was basically a rip. Next time I want tapas, I'm going to Tapas Bravas in Healdsburg. They never disappoint.

First, the host is an older gentleman, and it took a few minutes to be seated even with a reservation. My husband and I ordered cocktails, 2 tapas, and the vegetarian paella. The paella requires 30-45 min to cook. This becomes important to the story later. We received the tapas before our cocktails arrived. When the cocktails finally arrived, the server almost gave them to the table next to us. I had to flag her attention that those were for me. This was the same server who took our order...?!?! So that was weird. We were done with the tapas and the cocktails. Our server asked if we wanted something more to drink, so we decided to get a bottle of red wine. The server poured our wine, spilled a big drip across our table, wiped off the bottle, but didn't bother to wipe the table! There was a group of 4 people next to us, and they were seated about 15 min after us. But they received a paella really fast. So my husband and I were dismayed because the server probably gave our food to the wrong table. So, we drank our wine and waited for someone to come and speak to us. We expected some kind of acknowledgement that our order was going to be slow. Waited. And waited. Then the table next to us received the paella that they actually ordered (with seafood). And we kept waiting. The server apologized to THEM about bringing them the wrong paella at first, but no apology or explanation to us! At this point, I'm staring at the server, trying to get her attention, getting pretty angry. My husband is a good person, so he's making jokes and making me laugh. He points out a small dog sitting on a chair inside the restaurant. Definitely not a service animal. At this point, I'm so aggrieved and laugh that I'm going to report a health code violation. The server finally comes to us and apologizes for the mix-up, it will be 45 more min for our paella. She tries to compensate by giving us 2 glasses of cava. But like... I'm starving and tipsy. I ask my husband if I should get a corn dog at Foster's Freeze while we wait for paella... Finally, the food arrives. The paella is good but not excellent. My husband makes paella at home that's better than this. He lived in Spain for a while, so he knows and uses a bunch of saffron. La Marcha's paella just tasted like rice with tomatoes and veggies, no saffron flavor or color. We ate the paella, ordered dessert. When the tab came, they didn't give us any kind of discount. The dinner took 2.5 hours! So I am normally a good tipper, but this time, I only tipped 10% and wrote a long note about our disappointment. I figured the other $25 that I would give to the server was going to pay for the babysitter for the extra hour that it took for us to eat dinner. tl;dr Food was good but not excellent. Service was terrible. I am never going back.
