I recently took my car to Promax for a rear bumper repair and several pieces of body panel to paint match. Because my car has an older tri-color finish (Acura pearl white), I was very skeptical about a potential mismatch. *Lifetime warranty does not exist Services: August 8, 2016- Complete Window Tinting Service with Lifetime warranty. $275 August 13, 2024- Spoke to the owner over the phone the week prior to discuss the lifetime warranty and bubbling with my tint. He advised to bring in my car and to bring the receipt for the warranty. When I arrived the owner stated that the Titanium tint that I paid for is only good for 3-year warranty and only the ceramic tint is lifetime, but there is no signage in their business stating the difference between the warranty and pricing for the tint I received. I held onto the receipt all these years because I was under the impression that my tint was covered under lifetime warranty. The owner said I could upgrade the tint to ceramic to have the lifetime warranty, but wouldn't tint all the windows just the problem windows I came in with for additional $100 + tax I let him know I was under the impression that my tint was under lifetime warranty which was the only reason why I went to them in the first place based off a family referral. I agreed to do the upgrade tint, but feel like he should've honored the lifetime warranty especially because I had the receipt for it all these years and it doesn't state anything about the warranty. It's all verbal. What he advertised and sold me on years ago does not apply to today and felt like his advertising has proven to be false. Since he didn't provide me with any warranty paperwork he can pretty much say anything to you on what's covered and not because there is no proof. The new receipt doesn't say anything about lifetime warranty for the upgraded tint and I'm worried in the future he's going to pull the same card on me. When I came to pick up my car, I inquired again about the warranty and asked him if he could provide me with additional paperwork/information about the lifetime warranty. He said that he doesn't have paperwork for that and that he could not offer me a lifetime warranty because I only paid $100 for the upgraded ceramic tint. He could only offer 3-year warranty. He's definitely saying one thing and doing another. Now I'm leaving twice paying for tint with no lifetime warranty even though I upgraded the tint that should've fallen under the "lifetime warranty" This business needs to update their signage and provide clear information on the warranty and also needs to provide a written agreement that's explains the warranty on what's covered and the duration of the warranty. The only sign I saw stated that all warranty work needs to be accompanied with a receipt. The receipt doesn't say anything regarding the warranty and the difference between ceramic or titanium, there's no extra paperwork regarding any warranty. This company had my car for 7 hours. I dropped it off at 10am he said about 2pm he would be done. I called at 1:45pm to check the status of my car, he said that it needed an additional hour and a half. I showed up at 4pm and had to wait an additional 30 minutes, because it wasn't done drying. When I drove home, the tint started falling off the back window. At this point i'm just like "of course." I couldn't believe that I wasted a whole day, got bamboozled into paying for an upgraded tint with no lifetime warranty, who knows what they did with and to my car during that time. They should offer appointments, basically leaving me car-less for the whole day only to do a half ass job on an upgraded service. First come, first serve...also does not exist. Windows were left unclean with finger marks, fuzz in between the tint, tint scraps all over my car for me to clean, water marks all over the exterior. I washed my car the morning of it came back filthy. Zero customer service, the good reviews must be from friends/ friends of friends/ family or people who are really into cars. The first time around I had a good experience and I referred many people to this place. I now have to retract my referral to this place based on such poor experience. I have been coming to Promax for the past 10 + years and I can confidently say that this body shop is the best I have ever been to. The past 2 months, I have had to bring in three different cars belonging to myself, my mother, and a friend, and every single time, the service has been outstanding. Anthony, in particular, has been incredibly helpful. Last year my car had a loud engine noise when I started the car almost sounded like it was going to blow up and I called Anthony, he immediately assisted to tow my car and found out someone had stolen my catalytic converter. With my insurance covering the repairs and parts, he was able to get it replaced in 3 days, along with complimentary cleaning on my front bumper which looked like it needed a paint/repair job and I'm not sure how he did his magic but the scuffs were completely gone. Recently he helped me fix and painted my bumper and without asking him to do so, he had cleaned/polish my headlamps(was tarnished and yellow) on my car, which allowed me to sell it to Carmax at a maximum sales price. I even asked if it was worth repainting the car in other areas and he suggested it would cost close to $2k and probably not worth it if I had to sell, he was being completely honest with me and said most buyers won't even see the little imperfections on paint, rather buyers would care for the car itself which I had a Prius. He went above and beyond to ensure that my car was in the best possible condition. He could've easily upsold me as other body shops would but he didn't. Coincidentally, the day I picked up my car was the same day my mother was involved in a terrible accident that caused her car not to start, all airbags were deployed, luckily my mom survived and without any injuries. Even though it was after his work hours, Anthony helped me tow the car to his shop and worked tirelessly to assess the damage. Despite the insurance company claiming that the car was a total loss, Anthony did everything he could to help me, and I will always be grateful for his assistance. Most recently, a friend of mine brought in his car to Promax to assist to change the rims out back to stock rims that he had recently purchased from somewhere else. The seller of the stock AMG rims had brought the rims and tires to the shop, and Anthony immediately saw that there was a bait and switch scam pointing out their tires being 2015 and not being new, he was able to assist with bargaining with the seller for a discount in the behalf of my friend from $2500 to $2400. The seller also wanted to charge $100 extra for aftermarket tire sensors preinstalled, and Anthony said there is no need because the car already have tire sensors and it was perfectly fine. This level of customer service is truly exceptional and shows that Promax and its employees truly care about their customers. Overall, I would highly recommend Promax to anyone in need of body work on their vehicle. The team is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to providing excellent service. I've been meaning to get my car tinted for awhile, but haven't been driving my car a lot due to the pandemic. Isn't coworker recommended this place so I have it a try. I called on a Friday and asked if they had availability on Monday and they said yes. I asked my friend to go with me so he could drive me back. When we went there, they said they could squeeze in the side mirrors but not the front. I told them I called, but they said they couldn't do everything. Since we'd have to come back for the front, we decided to do it later. I came back again to drop off my car and they did all mirrors - front, sides, and back. I thought I lost something, and they searched through their space to look for it, which was really generous of them. I tried to start my car and the battery died. They had closed, but were available to help me jump my car. They said that I probably needed a new battery. Not sure if there was a light left on, since after the jump my car battery hasn't died at all. It's been a few months, but I still love the tint. I definitely feel the difference, and they did a great job on the tint. read more

After having a conversation in car with my buddy from college- I just realized we both had bad experiences there. For my friend, he stated they left their shop tools inside under the hood after the job was done. Came in for lower control arms repair but somehow after he brought in his car the power steering hose was busted- completely unrelated. For myself, it was them not completing the job timely and also not completing the job properly AND being unable to get ahold of Anthony the business owner. Yeah buddy you got all these nice fixed white exotic cars etc etc but you also have a ton of unhappy customers. Yes Service here can be cheaper than other places but it's like playing Russian roulette. These people are rude to the max. 1) you can't set an appointment with Anthony for the life of him. I called 1 week before to set an appointment, called 1 day before, and then called 1 hour before. Drove 1 hour to get there and he had this dumb look on his face and turned me away AFTER making an appointment and confirming several times before. 2) John is a big cry baby. I asked him to wrap molding around my car- no problem. BUT asking him to instal it back onto my car caused him so much stress. Like really? It's your freaking job! I've spent more than a thousand dollars over all the business I've given them, referred people to them and John really told me no to do business with them anymore and not to refer my friends to them because I asked for a little discount after they tried to "nickel and dime" me and after I asked him if he could instal the molding that he wrapped. You'd think that a good business would give $10 off a small job after all the business I've given them. On top of that, THEY HAVE PUT DENTS IN MULTIPLE MOLDINGS ON MY CAR AND TRY TO STATE IT WAS FROM THE DEALER. I bought BRAND NEW moldings and they really tried to say it came like that. Trust me- I stood outside in the back of the garage (instead of in the waiting room) and stared at them hammer my molding in and force it into place to take a shortcut. This damn place over torqued my lug nuts.... they used a damn breaker bar to tighten my lug nuts, who does that??? Now I'm sitting at a tire shop with stripped $150 lug nuts as I'm typing this. Went in for a $60 service, left with having to buy new lug nuts now because they couldn't afford a damn torque wrench.... thankfully the shop that I'm at was able to get them off without stripping or breaking my studs but goodbye lug nuts, never coming back to this shop again and i recommend every doesn't either. There was a long line ahead of me so the 3 hours was justifiable to deal with the two things that annoy me most about driving - having too much sun in my face and limited visibility (unless I use brights) driving dark mountain streets. The reviews are mixed and it's not a fluke The problems I saw were both up front and in the back. Problems up front : I'm not given a quote before they performed the work. It was a really hot day(115F) and I was forced to walk around the back outside to get from the shop to the front desk. I did this multiple times do to their mistake They have a water cooler but no cups. When asked, the front desk girl didn't care and didn't offer any of the many cheap bottled water I saw lying around. I know I'm not entitled to this but it's reflects the level of their customer service Problems in the back: They initially fixed my jammed trunk latch but then when I walked in the shop I was told it wasn't fixed. Don't waste my time especially when Im not allowed to go indoors from the front desk. I was quoted a complete factory replacement of the part. Apparently my solenoid for the latch was broken. They were not sure why. The fee was reasonable but I decided to wait it. When I went home I took a more serious look and fixed it myself with just some adjustment... The solenoid worked fine Perhaps something was jammed or the lube was acting up in the heat. Honestly I would expect more from mechanics to be able to distinguish the root cause. I do appreciate that they took a look at my car and gave me priority. I'm sure they do a good job detailing but for real car work and good service you have better alternatives around read more

NOTE: I brought my OWN materials to them so they could just do the labor on my car. Came back to pick up my car after a day & a half & they didn't even finish the job. Asked them to do ONE little thing that they didn't do & would have a taken them max 20 min to do but owner said "you can do it yourself. We're closed now." Buddy it's not my fault you didn't finish the job at first. Plus we paid you to deliver a finished car. Like wtf. Secondly, they kept the remaining of MY material I bought. Super affordable for the amazing quality work they do, had some taillight overlays I ordered installed, tried doing them myself and failed miserably so I came here. Was surprised to see bad reviews since I was referred here by the person I bought the overlays from (bluebatmobile) pulling into see a Lexus LFA, rolls Royce, rx7 etc... gave me confidence. Took a tiny longer than expected but worth the wait, waiting room has nice couches but I'd try to spend time elsewhere while they work. Took my 2021 Ford Mustang in to get some vandalism fixed on the quarter panel. First time I took the car, Anthony and I agreed that the paint job was badly done as the color came out pink and there was tons of metallic on the pillar yet none on the quarter panel. Second time I took the car for warranty on the paint job, Anthony decided to paint the entire door panel for what was originally only the quarter panel and pillar to try and trick my eye. But it was clear as day that the paint didn't match again and it was foggy + overspray. Reference one of the pictures for overspray. There was also certain areas that weren't painted since they refused to remove certain parts such as the mirror. Third time I took the car, I found the fender painted on which resulted in the quarter panel, door, pillar, and fender being painted just from damage on the quarter panel. This time I found the weatherstripping being painted on with black as they had accidentally sanded it, burn marks on the bumper that wasn't removed, scratches on the roof, and areas that weren't finished such as above the tail light. ANTHONY DOES NOT DO HIS OWN WORK. He will drive your car to El Monte to get it painted by another body shop. The BAR has been notified and they will be giving him a visit. My lawyers will also be contacting him soon as I gave him one last chance to remedy the situation and he refused. He said I could take him to court so that is what I will end up doing. Thank you for ruining the paint job on the car and thank you for ruining the value on the car. If you do not believe my review look at the review that came right before mine. read more

Didn't come here for years and finally had the chance to take my new car over for window tint and roof wrap. Tint and wrap was done beautifully. Other than that, it just took quite a bit of time to finish. Recommend to leave your car there instead and not wait for it. They have a new CF vinyl that's worth the money.
