I was very pleased with the service I received, all of the staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable. I had LASIK surgery, they were very patient with me as I had MONO Vision done, I wore contacts for about 8 weeks to see if I was a candidate for MONO, not everyone is and it can take a little getting used to, it's not for everyone but if it works for you then it's a good option. I liked Dr. Pat, I think we share a sense of humor, he was pleasant and professional, answered all my questions gave me as much time as I needed to arrive at a decision, there was never any pressure. Great experience from the consulting through the procedure. I went in on a Wednesday and had the procedure the following Monday. Everything was thoroughly explained by Krystina and Dr. Pat. After the procedure, I could see so much clearer. I expected some mild pain or discomfort when I got home but neither happened. I saw this business years ago walking through the promenade. Many years ago I had Lasik performed on my eyes. I was told in time as I age, I may need reading glasses. In late 2015 I noticed the vision in my right eye wasn't as good as my left. I was told by another doctor (another business) that I was not a candidate for another lasik procedure but instead PRK. I had PRK performed on my right eye and it healed great. Although I was not comfortable at all with the recovery. It's definitely not the same recovery as Lasik. In mid 2016 I noticed my left eye was not as sharp as my right eye. I dealt with it until March 16, 2017. On this day, I went to an appointment at Promenade Optometry. Here I met Krystina (Coordinator) and Dr Pat. I had several test performed. I was honestly hoping that I would be a candidate for another Lasik procedure. I was told by Dr Pat that I was not a candidate but PRK was and is the only way to go. I had a bad experience with the recovery of PRK, but Dr Pat explained/broke down the reasons for PRK vs Lasik, which gave me a great understanding. He insured me that my recovery will be tolerable and he will do what he can to make sure I'm comfortable. I decided to go with the procedure and Krystina got me all set up. Instructions, prescriptions ect. I had the procedure performed March 20th and I just had my 1 week follow up today March 27th. Dr Pat made sure to call me hours after the procedure was performed to check on me, which I appreciated. Krystina called a day later to check on me and to confirm my 3 days after procedure appointment. I highly recommend promenade Optemetry for all vision needs. I have been returning to Dr. Pat Utnehmer & friends since- forever. I received my first pair of glasses in the late 80's, way before the Promenade ever opened! (I remember the office with the big fish tank.) Over the years, I was duped by ads and admit that I tried two other eye doctors. The best choice is Dr. Pat's knowledgable eye care and friendly informed staff. Recently three dermatologist and a GP doctor could not figure out my ongoing eyelid (not eye) irritation, Dr. Pat. immediately recognized the cause, gave me an inexpensive fix-me-up plan, and provided me with a check up visit ... all inclusive of the cost for my regular eye exam! Have been going here for a while, lately haven't received good customer service. No phone calls saying my items are ready for pick up. They don't seem to care. Have called multiple times already and they tell me I'm calling the wrong number then find out i am calling the right place. I don't even know where to begin. I love this office and I love the people that work there. Dr. Pat and Dr. Archibald have been great helping pinpoint my exact eye care needs over the past several years. The new location is decorated so nicely, too. I've worn glasses for about ten years and went in a few weeks ago to talk about contacts or laser surgery. Dr. Pat recommended contacts first and the girls up front, Mariana and Krystina have been AMAZING! I'm a LOSER when it comes to putting them in and taking them out. It became apparent to me pretty quick that I would not be getting contacts and I decided to get surgery. Before surgery, you need to try contacts for a while until you get them "just right" to help when it comes time for the actual surgery. Again, remember, I'm a LOSER when it comes to putting the contacts in and taking them out. Mariana and Krystina have been putting them in and taking them out for me for a few weeks! Talk about service! Today's pair feel like they might be the perfect fit. I'll be wearing them all weekend for a mini vacation with my husband. My own personal contact lens assistants, Mariana and Krystina, LOL, will be there for me Monday when it's time to take them out and talk about possibly scheduling the surgery. Originally my optometrist referred me to a different office for Lasik but I am so glad I called Promenade because Krystina was so friendly, fit me right into their schedule and worked with me throughout the entire process. Promenade Optometry lost my glasses, then when they found them I had to take them back due to the AR Coating that I had paid for not being put on them at all. Went for eye exam with my husband and to pick out new glasses. As a health care professional I was very frustrated and concerned to find the one of the front staff not wearing a mask. As I watched many older people come in and could tell they were very uncomfortable dealing with her I felt so sorry for them. I let the staff know that we were uncomfortable with it and did not want her to help us. Unfortunately other people are afraid to say anything. I watched as they kept taking small steps back as she approached. It's so sad that the management does not put the health of these people first. They after all are the population that will suffer most and have most to lose if they are exposed. It's not as though it's a restaurant or store that you can avoid or order online from. People are forced to be in contact with this woman for health reasons. Granted they can go somewhere else but you don't know until you show up for your appt. We have gone here for years and years and I love the doctors and the other staff and in normal times I would give them five stars. But that time is not now. Our second adult daughter just had LASIK on Monday and we are extremely pleased. Andrea, the surgical coordinator, answered all our pre-procedure questions and really went above and beyond in anticipating their post op experiences and expectations. Both daughters wore contacts and needed to leave them out for a week prior to LASIK but neither girl had a current glasses prescription. This office anticipated that problem and made them each a temporary pair of glasses in 20 minutes, for no additional charge! Dr. Pat was generous with his time and availability. He also explained that the laser they use is frequently updated to provide the latest and best procedures possible. Both daughters had extremely high pre-procedure eyeglass prescriptions so we were prepared for much vision improvement, but maybe not perfection. Daughter number one has 20-20 in both eyes, and daughter number two had her one day post op check yesterday and she was 20-20 and 20-25! Both are so happy. It has been 16 years since my surgery. BEST thing I ever did period. Im 60 years old, and had the surgery in my 40's. I've been wearing glasses since 4 year old and contacts since 17. Dr. Patrick recommended I had one eye done for reading and one eye for distance and I agreed as I knew sooner or later i would need reading glasses. 16 years later, and no touch ups and my eyes are still great and still no glasses. First off I'd just like to thank Dr. Pat! This was my first time being fitted for contacts at this location. So to start, the location is in a great location with convenient parking. The front entrance interior is modern, open, and bright. The staff were all friendly, hospitable and never once seemed anything but happy to see me after repeated visits. I mainly communicated with Rose who was exceptionally friendly and great at her job. Now for the fitting. Dr. Pat was also very welcoming and made the appointment comfortable and informative. Having a science background I never once felt like I was being talked down to but instead very much informed professionally. As for my eyes, I have a rather "simple" prescription with slight astigmatism. For whatever reason my spacial awareness makes 95% of contacts unbearable unless they're perfect. So I required a few fittings and Dr. Pat never once made it feel like I was burdensome. That put me at ease and always made me feel welcome. I ended up with a fantastic contact prescription that I love! I forget that I'm wearing contacts which is such a great feeling. I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking to be fitted for contacts. Before coming here I wore contacts, and my eyes would constantly be dried out and irritated from the lenses. I came to Dr. Pat for a regular eye exam and we also discussed doing Lasik. I decided to do it, and the whole experience ended up being so easy. Dr. Utenhiemer informed me about exactly what the procedure was like before during and after and made me feel very comfortable. I came in on a Monday morning for surgery and after a few hours of sleep was able to see perfectly. two days later I came in for a check up and discovered I now had 15/20 vision.. which is better than perfect. I love not having to worry about contacts and how smooth the whole process was. This place is awesome as far as Optometry goes! read more
