Garlic noodles wok South Central drink
    Yas D.

I have been trying to broaden my kids palate instead of fast food. We also chose this place because of a fellow New Orleanian the Chef who happens to be a winner from Chopped. They have something for all dietary restrictions. Others had the hotsausage poboy, Nashville hot shrimp, and meatball Ramen. The drinks were cherry lemonade, juju, south central, and coke.

CONCEPT: This is a place where different chefs come to test their new menu items! ENVIRONMENT: Great vibes! Definitely on the dimmer side in the evening so if you want bright and sunny vibes this may not be a place for you in the evening. SEATING: indoor and outdoor seating available SERVICE: Our server was under 21 so he was not as able to recommend/suggest cocktails as much as I would like. The kitchen was also was VERY busy and it took QUITE a while to get our food. Same can be said for our drinks! Our waiter told us there was some confusions and the bar was a bit overwhelmed which is why our drinks were coming out so late. FOOD: it was great to try different items from different kitchens but with our food and drinks taking so long to come out it came to a point where we just wanted to get our check and go! Love the concept though!

I really liked this place. Not sure about the previous negative review...just speaking from my personal experience. I ate there a couple of nights ago and loved it! They have patio seating only that is socially distanced for COVID. I felt very comfortable with the safety measures being taken when I ate there! The drink I had was delicious and the dish I had was a peanut garlic noodle dish recommended by my server. It was different than anything I had ever had before and was very tasty. I love the idea of this place - multiple restaurants under one roof - and would definitely eat here again. Also the patio is so beautiful. Perfect place for a date. Excellent ambiance. Loved it! I will say there are not a ton of food choices if you have a picky eater. So check out the menu before you go.

This was a new restaurant to us. We made an excellent choice. Gracious host found us the perfect table. Live jazz. A new on-line ordering system that works well but staff was attentive and prompt. Both were perfect. The food was tasty. We had garlic noodles and west African beans and rice - great recommendation and great choice. I can't say enough about this outstanding restaurant/incubator for new restaurants. Did I say how good the bartenders were? DEFINITELY worth your time and money (cost is very reasonable).

I came to Chattanooga for the first time last week from Atlanta, and I can say that this restuarant is by far one of the most interesting restaurants that I've ever been to. Currently, Proof's Bar and Incumbator consist of 3 different restarants: Neutral Ground (where we ate from), Lil Oso and Poppytons Patisserie. The restuarant has a resident program for chefs where they can practice their craft before opening their own restaurant. The vibe is upscale ecletic with comfortable contemporary modern seating and urban art. While there is no dress code, you should definitely dress for a nice dinner. I had the fried oysters and peanut lo mein. We had a flight of whiskey as well. Next time we are in Chattanooga, we will definetly come back and sit upstairs. So glad I stopped by to have a couple of drinks! Service was amazing, the atmosphere is very chill and covid friendly. The bar has plexiglass for covid safety and all the servers were wearing masks. The drinks were amazing and if you're in the mood for sweets, definitely get the whiskey truffles. Highly recommend this place if you're in the downtown area!

    My chicken sandwich. Not Proofs.

It's okay. I understand the concept, but I need to be blown away. The chicken sandwich that is had at Proof was okay at best. I think that that these chefs have to remember that the way that you get Pete to talk about your food is to create superb dishes. This one didn't meet that criteria. Heck, I have actually made a better sandwich at a lower cost at home.

Really dig this place. I've been twice in the last week - great drinks with flavors and ingredients you won't see at just any bar. The menu may be confusing at first but the staff is great at explaining and recommending things. I have never had West African food, but I promise you that Red-Red made me tear up with how pleasing that dish was both to the eyes and to my stomach - perfect mix of savory from the peas, sweet from the plantain, creamy from the avocado, crispy from the rice and then the onion and a hint of citrus flavor to round it out perfectly. I honestly am not sure I have had a dish so wonderfully-balanced and I'm salivating right now thinking of having it again. For dessert, that Panna Cotta is phenomenal with the lemon cake a close second. I want to come again some time and try the zucchini cake because it sounds heavenly. I will be back soon with more friends to try out more from Neutral Ground and for a sweet bite to eat. For a nice touch, come on a Thursday when they have some nice jazz outside. Nothing beats some soothing live music and a sweet bite to eat on a patio with loved ones on a beautiful summer night.

    Gulf shrimp salad
    Priscilla O.

Tasty experimental flavors that are a welcome break from the daily grind of deep fried, cheesy and creamy dishes of this region. The gulf shrimp salad reminded me of the Caribbean with its cilantro-plantain-prawn flavors. The red-red covered all the starch bases with black eye peas, rice and plantains. Mixed with avocado and fried egg, it was soulful, satisfying bowl. The cheesecake was sinfully rich with a hard chocolate coating on top.

    Brisket Meatball Yakamein

This was our second stop in Chattanooga and our waiter suggested the yakamein and it was amazing. The food was great and the staff was very pleasant. I would suggest it to other people to visit

We tried a few beers from Five Wits and per her recommendation got the creamsicle shake as well. Solid beverage choices. The shake tasted part float part milkshake and it was absolutely delicious. Would order again. The food on the other hand was a bit eh. We ordered the Asian q burger and the mushroom melt burger and it took quite a while for them to come out and when they did they had unfortunately been left on the grill for way too long and were charred and crunchy. One set of our fries was cold and the bun to burger ratio was extremely off. Luckily, the staff agreed that our burgers were accidentally overcooked and they remade them no questions asked. The remade burgers were moist and better but still not fantastic. They were just burgers with minimal toppings on them. Not really seasoned and the flavor came from the toppings themselves. The buns were still too big for the burgers so there was a lot of extra bread and they have potential to be great but they were just average. Would have probably been a three star review but the staff and drink selection really earned the extra star. Would go back to drink and maybe snack but probably not order a burger.

Wonderful cocktail list with well balanced, well made cocktails. I loved my old fashioned and others enjoyed their drinks too. Very nice, attentive service from the servers although they brought out the oysters without telling us what was what and service was at times bumpy. The interior is nice, with it feeling casual but somewhere you could bring a date. And we enjoyed the lobster cakes which were well done, nice sauce, without overwhelming the sweetness of the lobster itself. So that was positive. Where it failed: the tuna bites on regular and not crispy rice was hard to eat. It was good but a little unruly. The halibut piccatta was VERY dry, almost bordering on inedible. Their special, which was a bento box was not great. The flavors didn't go together and their sushi eggroll had cream cheese which is very gross. Their steak frites was fine if not that memorable. All in all, I would come back for their drinks and their oysters but not sure I would come back for a full meal here.

The beets were fresh and the goat cheese carried so much flavor. For the desserts, we got the carrot cake with pecans and chocolate cheesecake. Both were soooo good. I would get both of them again, especially the carrot cake which was so warm and moist. And the candied pecans were such a nice complement to the cake - not too sweet at all.
