Our Thermostat stopped working and called another company and was quoted $1150 for a power control panel. Four days later we still have no A/C and the other company says the new control panel was not in yet. Today I called BRS Mechanical at 2:00 P.M and Bruner said he could stop by after his last job. If I could give 10 stars I would! My AC quit blowing cold air on the hottest day this summer. I had found BRS on yelp and called for a second opinion. Had another company come out the day before, and said it was my blower motor in the furnace which would run about $1500. Bruner answered my call right away and was available to come out for an inspection and provide a second quote. Within 30 Min he had cold air flowing through the house again. Called a few companies to get quotes/pricing on the replacement of my evaporator coil in the attic and Bruner was the first person to return my call and we probably spent 15 min trying to diagnose the problem over the phone. From the get go he was honest, transparent and knowledgeable. Finally he came out the next day and he basically told me what the problem was and the next day sent me a quote. Always responsive and quick with the questions I had. He's pricing is very competitive across all other companies here in San Diego, but what's most important for me was the attention to detail and the answers he provided with all the questions I had. The unit I chose was somewhat unique and presented some installation challenges. Luis and Bruner personally supervised the installation, overcame all the challenges, and did an absolutely first rate job. They explained every step of the installation to me, made themselves available for questions, and left the worksite neat and clean. Their crew was courteous and professional and thus far the unit is functioning as expected. I did considerable research before choosing the unit and the installer. I called to have my furnace checked out and Bruner was able to come even earlier than scheduled. Because of the high rating and good reviews on Yelp, I called BRS Mechanical for a quote to recharge my upstairs and downstairs AC units, as I didn't believe I was getting as much cooling as I should. Spoke with Bruner who gave me a competitive quote. Also, he was able to come out the next day! Bruner arrived as expected, and the service I received surprised me. He verified both my AC units were cooling within spec (indicating no loss/leakage of Freon, and therefore no need to recharge), but he found my return vent filters were dirty and in need of replacing. I had spare filters on hand, so Bruner called it a "courtesy visit" and didn't charge me a penny! Had any other less honest company done the visit, they easily could have invented a number of repairs to make and charged me hundreds of dollars. But not Bruner! I have found my AC technician for the future, and I can't recommend Bruner and BRS Mechanical highly enough! read more

Bruner and crew were great. Quick, quality, responsive service! We have an old Clairemont home with gas wall heaters. When SDG&E came to check them recently, they told us that one needed to be replaced. We called multiple HVAC contractors, and even approached them at Home Depot, but none was interested. They only install and service central air systems. We found BRS on Home Advisor. They were the only ones willing to service our unit, and they knew exactly what to do. We ended up having them replace our second heater, and they came back to run the thermostat wire through the attic. We cannot say enough good things about them! read more
