I didn't like the chimmichurri spread over the steak, I would ask them to put it on the side next time . To make a long story short, everything we ordered was DELICIOUS and don't get me started on the bottomless mimosas - they don't ever let your glass get past half-drank. We started with the Strawberry Belini mimosas, and each ordered the red grapefruit & orange juice mimosas. Their ratios are the best - nearly 90% champagne and 10% juice. THANK YOU PROSPECT GOURMAND! We started with the Spanish Octopus and Salmon Ceviche. Both were so flavorful and light - the perfect savory start to the meal! I would order both again! Next up were the Steak Frites with NY Strip, Ricotta Pancakes and Chicken Fried Steak. The Steak frites had a delicious sauce, cooked perfectly medium rare, with the BEST crispy steak fries. The Ricotta Pancakes had a fantastic fluffy consistency and flavor - highly recommend! The chicken fried steak was also super delicious, but definitely a heavier option! We will be returning! We were there for dinner in 12/30. We were warmly welcomed by the young man and immediately provided water and menus. The server came and offered greet suggestions based on our questions about different dishes and we had a nice surprise the happy hour menu was still in effect including wine :) Ambiance was very cozy and warm, service fantastic. The food was really tasty - with the short rib being the clear winner, and wish the truffled Mac and cheese had been creamier - it was a bit watery for my taste. Would we go back again? For sure. My husband and I have been coming to Prospect Gourmand since they were on La Cienega, not long after they opened. On our first visit, we met Chancey, who co-owns the restaurant with her husband, Chef Isaac. We hit it off with Chancey right away, partly because we were blown away by the incredible food we were eating at this unassuming neighborhood restaurant. We love food and have been incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to eat at several of the best restaurants around the world, so please know that I'm not exaggerating when I say that Chef Isaac makes some of the best food I've ever had the privilege of eating. His palate is unparalleled, and I genuinely think he is one of the most underrated chefs in the city. This week was both my birthday and our wedding anniversary. Without naming names, we went to the L.A. Times' Restaurant of the Year for my birthday and Prospect Gourmand/Gourmando for our anniversary, where chef made us a special tasting menu. There was no comparison - our meal at Gourmando blew the other buzzy restaurant out of the water, and we rate it as one of the best meals of our lives. Ten years and a move to the Valley later, we still go to Prospect Gourmand/Gourmando as often as we can, and we feel so grateful every time we get to enjoy our time chatting with Chancey and eating Chef Isaac's phenomenal food. read more

Found this place on yelp and came for dinner on a Wednesday night . Somewhat similar to Blasteran vibe and menu. Small cozy place. Food- Serving portions are small. We ordered truffle mac and cheese ( was delish! we all enjoyed it), steak with arugula vinaigrette and fries ( steak was good, salad and fries are ok). Lobster roll, just ok. The sweet potato takitos however, failed to amaze our tastebuds. Those reviews stating the sweet potato takitos are to die for was way over the top. They must have not really taste some good, unique and scrumptious dessert. Wrong choice on that one there! Friendly service. Overall, will prefer Blasteran than this anytime. Parking - Be aware, tiny parking behind aint for customers. So small / tight 1 way passage. Dont even bother to check out what they called private lot parking. Tow away signs everywhere. I've driven by this spot multiple times and never stopped. It looks super cute with all the flowers outside and the interior is just as quaint. I came for an event on a prefixed menu. Appetizers and salad were served family style, and they were good. Brussels sprouts were crisped just right and the kale salad had just the right amount of a citrusy dressing. Both work with complementary flavors. The entrees were also very good, we had the option of a steak cut, fish, or chicken. I went with the truffle chicken and yes I could have gone with the more fanciful beef dish but I decided on the chicken. Figuring if they can make a good crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside chicken with dish for an event. This spot deserves a repeat visit to try more of their offerings. I literally have no words for what I stumbled upon by pure luck for lunch today. I had a doctors visit and was trying to figure out where to pick up a quick but yummy lunch to take with me on my drive home before returning to work, and I hit the JACKPOT. First of all I ordered the brussel sprouts. They are my favorite thing to order at most restaurants and these are one of the best I have ever had!!!! The crispness with the honey/balsamic/Parmesan flavors, to die for. I will physically come and get these again even though it'll be a 30 minute drive each way! But the Mac & Cheese .... When I picked up the box out of the bag and saw how massive the portion was I was in amazement! But then I tasted it and was even more impressed at the quantity and quality for the price!!! My first visit here for an impromptu brunch... The air was welcoming and unassuming, leather vintage chairs for comfort and cozyness, surrounded by a slightly eclectic decor. We sat outside and familiarized with the wobbly table easily balanced with some pennies. We ordered drinks and main courses, truffles Mac n cheese and a burger, as we read in the menu, the grilled Brussels sprouts catch our eyes and we now have a clearer picture. The Brussels sprouts arrive and they're amazing, slightly charred with hints of balsamic and a light spice ensemble that rounded it up perfectly. Bravo. The Mac n cheese and the cheeseburger arrive and I can confidently say it was one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time, carefully crafted every small bite had its own gravity, the white cheddar was married by a light horseradish and crispy fried onions, the fresh tomato balanced it with gusto and brought it back to the beef patty, juicy and fresh with a hint of a sweet after bite. Delicious. The fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy with a slight crunch that energized the dips, a homemade mayonnaise with a pinch of pink salt and organic ketchup, married into the perfect bite and scooped with two fries simultaneously. I stayed in Los Angeles last night and now it's time for a Hollywood brunch to get the day started! Out of the 73 brunch spots that featured bottomless mimosas (that I've found) of some kind, I chose this one. It had excellent reviews and was close by to all the action, so why not?! Atmosphere/Appearance: Located right off a pretty busy street in the "more downtown" looking area of Hollywood is this gem. There's only street parking, but that makes for excellent views of all the crazy cars that drive by. There's some outdoor seating before you walk in inside (of course there is, it's Los Angeles). It's quite cute and cozy inside. It's very elegant and gives me sort of... Mediterranean vibe. The dining room is completely open and you can see right into the kitchen. Not bad. Our reservations were for 11:00am and the place was completely empty. We were very surprised, but as time went on it began to fill up. We stayed until about 1:30pm. Service: Excellent. I can't remember the gentleman's name, but the receipt says CGAMBOA. He took great care of us, got us everything we need and most importantly... kept the mimosas coming at full-speed. Lol. Food: The mimosas were excellent. They have multiples flavors that you can try throughout your dining duration. I was hungry an wanted something hearty so I opted for the Gourmand Burger which is a concoction of crispy leeks, toma cheese, basil caper aioli and an heirloom tomato all between 2 buns. I added an egg for an extra charge, but this entree is served a la carte. You do not get a side with it. That sucks. The food was VERY good though and it's something I'd totally get again. It was fresh, the bun was soft, the meat savory and the extra ingredients complemented the burger very well. Value: So... It's Hollywood, CA. What do you think? Lol. My burger was $12.00 and an addition $2.00 to add the egg. The bottomless mimosas were $16.00. Not what you expected right? This is a great value! I'd be up in here twice a weekend if I lived here! This is a fantastic restaurant! My wife and I have this made this place "our" new place and we've gone many times now. The food is eclectic, very fresh and soooo yummy!!! The owners are really great people and have become our friends. Issac, the chef is so talented and really creates delicious and interesting dishes. The other star is Issac's wife Chancy. She runs the place with love, caring, personality and fun! We've taken many of our friends here and everyone loves it! It took a while to get our order in, get the drinks to the table, no chopsticks came with the sashimi, no forks were replaced after they were taken away even though we were getting another course, --small things like that that aren't really dealbreakers, but end up being little annoyances that add up. They definitely need more hands to assist. The lobster roll was a whopping $19 for an appetizer sized sandwich. I got 3 bites out of it before it was finished. This is a small, cute restaurant from the inside and outside. We set reservations. We were eventually greeted and hosted by what may be the owner. She was friendly but not sure about authentic. During our ordering, she said that that certain dishes and drinks "would change our lives." Turns out, not so much. Decent but not wow'd. Service is slow but we were told when we sat down that staff had called out so it was expected. We were patient. Bloody Mary was interesting. Not typical but good in a fusion type of way. Our other brunch cocktail turned out to be a small shot that we were told was like an amuse-bouche but at a regular cocktail price. Never again. Lobster omelette was good but again, not blown away. A bit flavorless, though you do get to enjoy chunks of lobster throughout. Food was good but unremarkable. Unfortunately, I used their restroom which was a disappointment. Trash overflowing with paper etc. and unkept. And to get to the bathroom, you have to uncomfortably maneuver past the food pass with the kitchen. While I was in the bathroom, I couldn't help but overhear the "friendly owner" talking to the kitchen staff in a totally different tone and words than front of the house. I felt for the kitchen staff there. It was humiliating. Certainly there is a way to give feedback to the chefs/cooks without a demeaning tone. Maybe it was a stressful, one off day for them due to shortage of staff. But I don't think we will venture there to patron again. read more

The first would have to be the cozy, comfy, and stylish look and feel of the place - it's definitely of the times. I've come several times for lunch during the week with friends/colleagues and as you can imagine that is not the best time to go anywhere as you can expect a lunch rush. They even took our order once while waiting to sit, so that when we would things would come out while we were on our lunch breaks. Amazing! A wonderful woman who seems to be the owner or manager is just so kind and takes care of us well. Luckily, I just walk on over as I work in the area, but I've read there's parking in the back besides any street parking around. ---Food, Drinks & Price--- The menu here has some nice finds pretty much dabbling within the new American food. I've only been for lunch thus far and they have a nice varied mix of items - a salad or two, a burger, several sandwiches, and some items such as fish and chips, a mussels dish, and others. I've yet to stray away from the lunch special's ($10 w/a drink) but I do want to try some of items I mentioned in the future. They have quite an array of drinks from organic juices, sodas, teas, iced drinks and more. The lunch special consists of half of sandwich (a couple choices), a soup or salad, as well as a drink. It's definitely filling, but just because we enjoy their fries (usually with my persistence of ordering them), we order a basket of their delicious fries. Torta ahogada - A carnitas sandwich with navy beans, pickled onion, and served on top of a tomato chipotle broth. I really enjoy this sandwich, but beware, if you're not too quick with it or if the broth is of abundance, your sandwich will get soggy. Otherwise...amazing. Tri-tip sandwich - Santa Maria style - Tri tip on a baguette, with pico de gallo, cilantro, and garlic aioli. I like the freshness of the salsa and that zing of the aioli on here. Duck pozole - A really tasting red pozole with duck. Lots of crunch, meaty, and light. Fries - I usually go with the gourmand or garlic herb and the quality and quantity is great. The patio is always decorated so festively for the season and customers always looks so content when we drive by. We arrived right when they opened yesterday morning at 11:00 and were told we could sit anywhere. We picked a cozy spot inside and examined the menu. Our server was friendly and helpful, but he disappeared for long periods of time, so we were frequently waiting for him to return to take our orders and refill our beverages. We ordered the truffle mac and cheese as an appetizer, which was so buttery and delicious! I mourned the loss of a few truffles that accidentally fell onto the table when we were scooping portions onto our plates, so that was unfortunate. My fiancé chose the crab enchiladas with green sauce and I picked the chicken ones with red sauce. Both were fantastic, hot and fresh! It was pretty blend and it was one huge piece of fish. Maybe that's why the flavor or seasoning didn't get absorbed? And there were a lot of flies. I'm so glad I stopped here on my walk home. I was curious about the menu and saw they were having a $5 taco special. I found out they started the taco bar during covid, which turned out to be a hit! They said they will continue to have a taco theme once they reopen for dine in. Typically their food is upscale new American. The chef recommended the fish taco and boy, it did not disappoint. I can't rave about this place enough. We came with a part of 8, 4 kids and 4 adults. No other place would seat our whole party together because or covid restrictions. We called ahead and the owner said she would accommodate us. We had to sit outside but they turned on the heaters for us so the cold wasn't an issue. The food was amazing and the service was as well.
