Open kitchen, which is superb. We ordered the Papaya Salad which was fresh and delicious! With chicken wings and sticky rice to go along with the dishes. As our main, we had the Basil with Minced Pork and Crab Fried Rice. The food came out quick and it was presented so well!.. the Basil was spicy and had loads of flavor! The crab Fried Rice was just to die for! They gave a ton of crab meat and also a side of fresh chili sauce!.. Of course you have to order the Fried Egg on the side with your Basil dish, or it's not complete without it. (You'll thank me later ;) Overall, the restaurant is a place I'd definitely come back to!.. 8 tables that seats about 20-24 people but it's a perfect family spot or dating spot! Their lunch specials are great too! Best part, they have a little library with Thai Cookbooks for you to read while you wait for your dishes. Solid Thai food! I loved their Salted Egg Papaya Salad (Somtum). The ingredients were fresh and the dish tasted like something I can get back home in Thailand. The Cried Tiger (Grilled Beef) was also tender and flavorful. So was the Pork Larb. The owner kept coming around to talk and check in on us as well. They are proud and for good reason. Place is tiny so good luck getting in, depending on the time/day. Owners are very accommodating and food very good which is to say that your insides will be burnt raw unless you advise otherwise. Jk, everything is flavorful and fresh. Pad Thai is only an 8.5/10 and no deep fried sweet potato wedges with spicy sauce like I remember from University Ave in Berkeley, CA in the 80s otherwise I would rate 5/5. I've been coming here for years and it is probably my favorite Thai place in within a 30 mile radius. I love thai food and theirs is amazing. Drunken noodles are always a hit and the whole fried fish is great for an adventurous group. I also really enjoy the crispy duck salad. I don't think I've been disappointed with anything I've ordered. The owner is also super nice and a hard worker. They have great weekday lunch specials as well. I do feel badly rating this place so low but I just don't understand how it has a 4.5. maybe I came on an off day but the food was all so sweet and one note. Not anything like the complex balanced flavors Thai food is known for. The guy who was taking orders and doing everything himself was a nice guy but they need someone else to help with service. In any case, I had a couple bites of my pad Thai and couldn't take any more cause it was just so sweet. Their mango salad with duck wasn't that bad but again very heavy on the sauce and the pineapple in it may have been bad cause it have a tingling sensation when I chewed it. Certainly the most aromatic and passionately prepared Thai food that I've had the honor of enjoying. This is momma food, from the real cookbooks that line the shelves to the somewhat ambiguous storefront location. The food speaks a different language here. It is one of simple ingredients, not muddled into confusion but translated into something familiar yet framed in a way that is authentic without pretentiousness... A bowl of coconut soup, woven with threads of incendiary chilies and perfectly cooked chicken create a foil against each savory and sweet sip. The duck is a revelation against the duck served at many Thai restaurants. Here it comes dark, unctuous and threaded with scallion, onion, peppers and lots of the above mentioned Thai chilies. They even top it with perfectly fried Thai basil. Who does that??? They don't dumb the spice level down for the tourists. It's how you want it. I like mine damned spicy. It's possibly the most true to form Thai food I've enjoyed outside of the west coast. Thrilling and closer than NYC where it's a crap shoot on quality from meal to meal. read more

This place didn't wow me. Had the spring rolls, crispy whole red snapper with green mango salad, duck in chili sauce, white rice, and coconut pudding. The tab was $60 plus tip. The duck was overcooked and chewy. The fish looked good, but very little to actually eat once you deconstructed it. I was still hungry after I shared all of the above with my companion. We were given bread plates on which to eat our entrées, since we were sharing. Everything is small here: the room, the plates, and the quantity of food in some of the dishes. I got take out here once before, tom ka gai soup and pad thai, and it was just OK then. I need to try more of the dishes before changing my rating, but I will come back to do so since my favorite Thai restaurant in Clark closed. read more

Driving by this brand new roadside Thai eatery it is easy to miss.... And driving by would be a mistake. This quaint spot has an intimate feel to it... Real Thai music plays in the background.. Not irritating Muzak! The lunch menu ($7.95-$8.95) showcases the classic Thai dishes... With sticky rice available, not just for dessert. The lunch side salad had a peanut sauce dressing that had me licking the bowl. This time in I ordered the drunken noodles, the classic nighttime streetfood dish that I devoured every night during my trip to Bangkok... The chef made it with squid on my request. The flavors were layered, Sweet.. Spicy... And smokey and nothing overpowered.. I keep coming back for this one. Thai Grilled Chicken had a flavorful dry rub, and a tamarind sweet spicy sour dipping sauce. I will return to fully document this menu one dish at a time, updates to come. Honestly, this place is like a little hole in the wall and we came here on a whim because the other restaurant we were planning on going to was closing earlier than we expected. They have a super cheap lunch special deal. My meal was $8 and came with either a side salad or soup and a mini egg roll! Overall, quality Thai food for sure! I got the tofu drunken noodles. My only complaint was that their spice levels were a little confusing. It said on the menu that it was spicy but there was literally 0 spice in my opinion. My friend asked for medium spice thinking that it would be less spicy than what their menu suggested and hers was actually spicy. Greeted by the owner with a totally welcoming smile. He walked us through the menu with a very casual manner but most helpful. Casual kitchen atmosphere and decor. Food was superb! Drunken Noodles (medium spice) was delicious and with just the right amount of heat. On the hot side, so if you don't like heat, medium is too much. My girl said that the Thai iced was the best she has ever had. Not too sweet and no artificial tastes. The Massaman Curry was light and tasty--not thick and pasty. Jeeb dumplings were served next to a delicious sauce and the Thai salad was similarly delicious. It came with four nice pieces of crispy tofu which were yummy. The prices were very reasonable and the portions ample: 5 dumplings were served in the appetizer, and neither my girl nor I could finish our entrees. I want to go back so I can try the calamari and some of the other noodle dishes. I hesitate to tell too many people about this hidden gem because seating is limited and I wouldn't want to hafta wait for a table! read more
