First time , the amazing establishment is such a vibe ! The ambiance is so chic, the service was great the waitress was incredibly informative and inviting. The food was excellent, a great deal of options! The drinks were great. Definitely a staple and will dine again.
It's a nice din lit roomy place. You only have 90 minutes for seating. The waitress was very attentive. Well they kind of have to be since you are limited to only 90 minutes. The food is outstanding. The Salmon egg rolls were the best I have ever had. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, tender and very tasty. The Ribeye Steak was really good. Perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Don't skip the butter cake for desert even if you are stuffed. It's decadent! So moist, full of flavor, it's delicious! Overall great experience.
I was a party of 1, and sat in between parties with several reasons to celebrate. That being said, the host, staff, and even fellow guests dining there as well, made me feel welcomed. I received exceptional service from CiCi (hope I am spelling that right). Pretty, spacious, and an esthetically beautiful restaurant. I made the mistake of eating a late lunch, but I didn't want to cancel my reservation because I don't know when my next trip to Chicago will be. I ordered the seafood trio 5/5! And the butter cake 4.6/5! There are so many reviews, so I'll keep mine simple and straight to the point. If I'm ever in Chicago again, I'd definitely return!
If there was EVER a restaurant I wanted to double back to... it's Provare! From the rum punch , to the salmon egg rolls , that lobster bisque topped with a whole fried lobster tail ... and BABY, let's talk about that BUTTER CAKE! Everything was hitting. Every. Single. Thing. 10/10, baby! Hands down some of the BEST food I've had in a longgggg time.
Came to check out this restaurant early on a Friday evening and sat at the bar. The bartender, Trel was very welcoming. We ordered a round of cocktails. We started with the fried calamari and Cesar salad. For entrees, we had the lobster bisque pasta and the seafood trio. The sauces in the pasta were rich and flavorful. The food was so filling and I loved that they did not skimp on the seafood meat in the entrees. So good. Thank you for the great food and hospitality.
I've been dying to try Provare since it opened, but I just hadn't had the opportunity until this past Saturday when we went with friends. From the moment we walked in, I got this modern Neo-soul, chill vibe that immediately set the tone for the evening. The hostesses were incredibly hospitable, and we were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress came by and, after finding out it was our first time dining there, offered us Chicago Avenue shots -- such a thoughtful and welcoming touch. I can truly understand why people rave about this place on social media because the food was absolutely delicious. We started with the crab cake eggrolls and fried lobster as appetizers, and both were amazing. I ordered the Randolph Ave drink, which was sweet and strong -- exactly what I was hoping for. For our entrées, we ordered the seafood trio, and it was superb. It's a creamy Cajun pasta with lobster, crab, and shrimp, with the perfect amount of spice. My husband ordered the lamb chops with Cajun street food corn, and let me tell you -- he got five of the fattest, juiciest lamb chops cooked to perfection! My friend ordered the pasta alla vodka with grilled chicken, and we all shared the butter cake for dessert. Everything from the drinks to the appetizers to the entrées was incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience and will definitely be back!
Birthday dinner. Calamari was good. Spinach dip was very good. The seafood trio pasta was amazing. The service was great. The ambiance was perfect. I forgot the name of the drink it was more wine leaning than tequila. But we were given shots to compensate. Overall I would recommend and would go again!

We had an amazing time at Provare! Even though we arrived a few minutes late, they were very accommodating and seated us while the rest of our group arrived. The ambiance is a 10/10--beautiful space, especially the downstairs Privé section. The Stoney Island was a hit with our group (some even ordered seconds!). The calamari was slightly overcooked but still tasty. My boyfriend and I shared the steak frites (medium well), and it was cooked perfectly--I'd order it again. The DJ was also a 10/10 and really made the night. Highly recommend--we'll definitely be back!
So I might be the unpopular opinion... Here are my pros and and not so pros... Starting with the pros: Prive is more of a vibe than the dining area. Prive is the downstairs speakeasy, cute vibe, nice date night and more intimate setting. On the night I went they had live music which was fun to experience. Definitely enjoyed that. Loved the Salmon egg rolls. The waitress was lovely, a little slow towards the end in which after 30 mins to get the check the bartender noticed and helped but she apologized after seeing her later at the end of her shift. I appreciated her for that. Drinks were good. Not so Pros: The spinach dip and lamb chops was just okay. I like the elote corn and lamb was cooked well (medium) but they were over salted which left me disappointed. Also they charge a 20% service charge which is not considered the tip. I thought this was a thing with large group, meanwhile it was just me. I was annoyed but I was more annoyed to be told it is a "new Chicago thing" only to find out at other restaurants that actually is not true. Just say you are charging people an extra 20%. And frankly this place is so hyped that it is not going to matter because you will get business, but yea dont pretend it is a "Chicago thing." That left a bad taste in my mouth. The vibe is cool but I was underwhelmed by the food. I think to say I did it, it was good but it is not a must visit for me again. Maybe just to listen to music and grab a drink. Maybe.
THE FOOD, SERVICE, AMBIANCE, AND EVERYTHING ELSE IN BETWEEN WERE A 10/10! Provaré has the best crab cakes! Although, the fried calamari was decent compared to everything else I tried. The star of the show was definitely the cognac scampi, which was out of this world! It comes with shrimp normally, but I ordered mine with chicken instead. No lie, this was the best pasta I've had in my life. The music was good & the service was spectacular! Overall, this was an amazing experience.

We had a great time! Tik Tok did not disappoint. We were looking for a place with great food, excellent service, and plenty of swag, and this spot checked every box. What we ordered: * Seafood Trio - 10/10. Spicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. * Lamb Chops- 100/10- juicy, tender and flavorful * Shrimp Cognac - 9/10. Fantastic flavor; I just wish there had been a little more shrimp. * Crab Egg Rolls - 10/10. A must-order. * Butter Cake - 100/10. Easily the star of the night. * MLK - 10/10. The service was wonderful. They do include a 20% gratuity, which is clearly disclosed, and our waitress explained that it is shared among the team. Any additional tip goes directly to the server. I appreciated her honesty and transparency, and she absolutely deserved extra. We had reservations for 5:30 PM, but you could tell that between 6:00 and 8:00 PM this place really comes alive. By the time we were leaving, there was a huge line forming outside. People were dressed like they were heading to a club, and for good reason--there's a speakeasy downstairs that adds to the experience. From the Southern-inspired flavors to the stylish, swaggish ambiance, this place is a hit. I highly recommend giving this establishment a try. We'll definitely be back.
I've heard so many great things about this black owned restaurant and I've been more than eager to visit here! The decor is really well done; it's a smaller spot, but not too over cramped or at least me and my friends didn't feel very cramped. I also learned that they have a speakeasy cocktail lounge downstairs, but unfortunately it wasn't open the day that we showed up so I'll certainly return again to give it a try. Our server was really attentive and kind. I really appreciated it, because despite how semi-crowded it was I didn't feel like we had had to wait a long time for our food or drinks. The food was simply amazing! I would order my shrimp scampi dish over and over again. They also give you that option to add a little spice. I highly recommend that especially if you are in to Cajun and spicy foods. The drinks were very well made, and the dessert, which I don't often get while out at dinner was really really good. Amazing amazing service at Provaré. My friend was unable to enjoy the meal and she was really hoping for some tea help with her stomach and although it was not on the menu the waitress found a way to brew her up some tea. The food came out fast and the overall vibes of the restaurant were amazing. I got the alla vodka and my friend got the Alfredo dip. We got Cajun seasoning on the side but it was soo good we ended up incorporating it all in. The butter cake was extremely delicious and a must have. Our meals were very cheese forward, so I may try one of the protein dishes beExcellent experience. Will be back again. We had the best experience here! We made a reservation so as soon as we walked in, we were seated. Our server Cat T was amazing. We asked her questions about the things that we liked, and she walked us through how to make it better (as if that was possible) because the food was already delicious. We had the salmon eggrolls for an appetizer, paired with some really cute cocktails. They do welcome you with a shot of rum punch! For our main course, we had the seafood trio with the sauce and noodles from the scampi topped with broiled lobster on top. For dessert, we had the butter cake AND you didn't need the ice cream. The butter cake was amazing! For a Tuesday, The place was really full. So this is an updated review... Parking street and metered. Service wait time to be seated has improved. Reservations are preferred. Your entire party needs to be there before being seated. The ambiance is cute but it's kinda dark in there. The decor is nice and comfortable. The drinks are reasonable and pretty good. The menu has changed slightly since I originally dined here which is not a bad thing. Everything that I have had was delicious which includes lamb chops, brussel sprouts, Spinach and artichoke dip, salmon egg rolls, crawfish, fried lobster tails, trio pasta, and crab cakes. I've had red wine, tequila shots and drinks, craft beer which has changed to one option only but it's still pretty good. I wish they had Mac and cheese but otherwise everything is always perfect. read more

Came to this dinner. I've been waiting on for a year or so to get reservations finally had opportunity to take a look at it. It was a great experience. Great ambience great staff parking was easy surprisingly came in. We had reservations, family of four. Everybody a good drink good actually got to the point where I got full nice space come check it out and have your own experience. Definitely worth the visit. The food was amazing instead of adding things to it. Take the dishes as they come out and get any additions on the side trust me it'll be worth it the garlic butter, the spicy get it on the side instead of ask for extra. read more

We had an excellent experience at Provare. Food was delicious. I started with the fried lobster tails which was amazing. For my entree I got the Seafood trio and added two lamb chops. Most tender lamb chops I've ever had, pasta was 10/10. My husband got their shrimp scampi and really enjoyed it as well. read more
I'm pretty impressed with this restaurant. Leading up to this visit, I tried (and failed) to get a reservation for my party of 4, and was going to wing it and see if we could walk-in. Yes to the walk-in, but there was about a 30-min wait around 4pm on the weekend. The wait time was accurate, and we were seated at a high-top round table in the corner of the restaurant. I don't remember there being a ton of decor, but the dark lighting added a serious, yet chill vibe to the restaurant. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food? So delicious! The salmon egg rolls were a surprise delight, especially with the accompanying sauce. The ala vodka with breaded / fried chicken added was every I thought it would be a more - so rich, filling, and cheesy. The cocktails were nice and strong as well; the Randolph's overt sweetness took away from the flavor of the drink. I tend not to like old fashioneds, but the Mag Mile was phenomenal. I love this place! Absolutely amazing food and customer service! I have been a few times and their food and service has never failed! Treat yourself and order the seafood tower, it comes with perfectly cooked shrimp, lobster tails and king crab with an amazing butter sauce that they pour on top at the table! So good! read more
The food here is so flavorful and delicious! We had a party of 3 and came in as a walk-in. There was somewhat of a wait around 5pm and we got sat pretty quick. I do think we got lucky though so shoutout to the owner for giving up his seat haha. We ordered an assortment of food and all of it was so filling. We had the lobster, lamb chops, etc. I'd definitely go back to try more of the menu :) read more
The host allowed us to move to another table when we didn't want to sit right at the column/pole in the center of the dining room. Our sever was attentive and greeted a quickly after we sat down. This is a nice restaurant for dinner with friends or date night. We got the egg rolls as an appetizer which were hot and crispy. My friend who is local got the seafood trio which is her usual. I got the shrimp scampi but added spinach and the cajun spices. It was great and not too salty or oily. The sauce was flavorful and stuck to the pasta well. read more

BABYYYYY!!!! GO. Make the reservation and come to this place ASAP. We were a few mins late for our reservation but were still sat immediately upon arrival. Our server Shonda was fantastic. She was attentive and very friendly. We were greeted with complimentary rum punch shots which were delicious. We both ordered the seafood trio pasta but my friend added a lamb chop and I added crawfish to mine. This pasta is everything you would imagine and more. Bursting with flavor, the portion is fairly large we were able to take leftovers. The lamb was so tender and well seasoned, we should have added two lamb chops. I will say at one point it got extremely hot in the restaurant to where everyone had said something. That was toward the end of our meal but was definitely unpleasant for the short while. Great experience from start to finish. The welcome drinks were a really nice touch and set the tone right away. Service was solid throughout--friendly, attentive, and paced well. The lamb was juicy and flavorful, cooked beautifully and definitely a highlight. The seafood pasta was an absolute showstopper--rich, comforting, and packed with seafood. Easily the star of the table and a must-order. The egg rolls were the only miss for us. They arrived cold and didn't have much going for them flavor-wise, which was a bit disappointing compared to everything else. Overall, an excellent meal with standout mains and great hospitality. Despite a small hiccup, this was a 10/10 experience and we'd happily come back. read more

I made reservations for a solo date at Privé, which is the speakeasy in the basement at Provaré. I went to their Love Jones Thursdays event where the DJ was playing R&B music. I sat at the bar and enjoyed my solo experience. The food was fire, the customer service was great and the vibes were perfect. The lamb chops were so good I wanted to lick the bone but the butter cake was the star of the show. A+ read more

It was my family and I's first time at Provaré and it did not disappoint. I was super excited to try it after seeing it all over social media and the food was AMAZING. I had the lemon pepper chicken Alfredo which was flavorful and filling. My family and boyfriend loved their meals too. Definitely try the salmon egg roll appetizer, it's a must. The cocktails were great, and since it was our first time, they gave us free welcome rum shots which was such a nice touch. The portions are generous and the service was excellent. What an experience at Provaré! We've been wanting to go for months and I was finally able to snag a reservation at a decent time. The food was so amazing. We got the crabby fries, lamb chops, and lobster bisque pasta. The food/menu is very customizable and you're encouraged to mix and match. We were blown away. The portions are very big, so I now have a meal for the next week haha. The service was phenomenal. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu and kind. All the other staff, bus boys, host, etc. also stood out as extremely friendly. Overall, a very convivial spot. It's really cute inside, but the space is somewhat small and it can be pretty loud. read more

Great experience at Provaré Chicago! My waitress, Kiera, gave amazing service and made the night feel special. I tried the crab cake and lamb chop appetizers and the seafood trio entrée. Everything was fresh and flavorful, though the lamb chop had a cinnamon undertone I didn't care for (my fault for not catching that on the menu). Overall, excellent food and service. The 3 is strictly for the seafood trio pasta. This would have been a 5 star record if we are going just off of that but we are not. The restaurant itself is nice. The issue was with making a reservation and it being changed without our knowledge by the restaurant. The host then told me I was wrong. Once clarified we were given champagne. Once we sat down our server was amazing. She literally was the reason we still had a good time. Beware of sitting downstairs as a live band plays when there isn't room sound wise for it due to it being a speakeasy at the bottom. Seafood dip 0/10 recommend also read more

Everything about this place was amazing. I enjoyed every second. First you walk in and it's dark in there so be mindful but it is beautifully decorated. The neon signs at the bar were wonderful. I ate at the bar, the bartender was on point, gave me time to see what I might want for both my drink and my food. He asks questions and was easy to talk to but was also knowledgeable. I had the salmon egg rolls which were the best I ever had. I all had the shrimp trio and it was delicious highly recommend and it came Out piling hot and fresh. I also had the butter cake which if I am being honest is a must have. I was traveling for work but seriously I miss this food already. read more
I've never had a bad experience at Provare. The food is always fresh and the service and music is phenomenal. The last time I went, Cat was my server and she had great energy and made the dinning experience even better. I've never had a bad thing on the menu and don't skip the butter cake. If you get a chance to go to Prive they bring the same vibe. read more

For any special occasion, I'm always trying to get back to Provaré, and this time it was for a late Valentine's Day celebration! The inside is so upscale and classy while still being trendy. I've been here twice before and loved it! This time, I noticed they did make some changes to their menu, which was interesting. Before, they just had a simple fettuccine alfredo where you'd have to choose your own proteins at an additional cost. I did like the change that the alfredo now comes with chicken; however, I was not very crazy about the lemon pepper addition. Don't get me wrong: It was still a good pasta, but it was not my favorite like the previous iteration was, and there's no option of removing the lemon zest as it's in the sauce. I always add crab to my alfredo, and it is always soooo good. This time was no exception. I'm definitely going to try the seafood trio next time and see if that'll become my new fave! The Vegan Bolognese has remained the same, and my boyfriend still loves it! Previously, when we came, we were able to make the garlic bread be vegan, but this time we were told it was unable to be done, which was disappointing. The drinks are still amazing! We didn't get any cocktails this time, but Provare always gives a complimentary shot, and it never disappoints. The service is also always really good here. Everyone is so nice! They do add a 20% gratuity but your servers will definitely be sure to let you know that it's shared amongst the other staff and anything more goes to them directly. For an already pricey place, it does throw you off a bit especially when the servers stand in front of you as you decide what to tip them. Overall, I still love Provare! There's been a couple of changes that weren't my favorite, but good food is still good food. I'll always have this restaurant on my list for special occasions read more
I had a reservation & there was a wait maybe 15ish minutes after I arrived to wait for my table. However, the food is so good! I ordered the seafood trio & also added the scampi sauce to it (my sever Cat's recommendation). Some of the best pasta I've ever had! Also ate the butter cake, also really good. This restaurant has been on my list for quite some time and I finally made it! It did not disappoint! The place is cute and great for a drink at the bar or to sit down for a nice meal. It is very popular so be ready to wait a bit for the bar or to look ahead for a reservation. The staff were all great! Our waitress was very nice and gave us bigger plates when my friend and I were sharing our entrees. When we needed boxes, she gave us two sets of boxes for our leftovers too. Everything on their menu looks delicious and I definitely want to come back to try other items. But we started off with the spinach artichoke dip ($16) which comes with shrimp in it. They give lots of bread and there's plenty of dip to share. It was very cheesy and the shrimp was a great mix with it. The garlic bread were big pieces which helped to fill up on the dip. For the entrees, I had my eye on the Seafood Trio ($39) so we ordered this. And I always enjoy an Alla vodka ($24) which they asked if you want it spicy or not. We got it spicy and it was spicier than the seafood trio. We wished we had some bread to help with the spiciness but both were delicious! I have to say that the sauce for the seafood trio was slightly better as I felt there was more flavor and less of a just a spicy taste compared to the Alla vodka. I also like that they give plenty of seafood. For the dessert, we kept seeing the same dessert coming to different tables and apparently it's the only dessert. But this dessert is all you need. The Butter Cake ($12) was the cherry on top to the end of the night. We felt that the cake was a mix of a bread pudding and corn bread that was soft but had a crispy edge. The ice cream was perfect to mix with the hot dessert. My friend and I said that we would come here at the bar for a drink and the dessert alone. This dessert is a must! Overall, Provaré is a definitely must try! It's delicious and a unique take on Italian food with that Creole inspiration. I can't wait to come back! read more

We were on time but the restaurant was a little backed up. I had high hopes for this place but it was so mid the Italian and creole flavors clashed. The herbs were to noticeable in taste and visually. Looking back I don't even think the waitress liked the food there. My crab meat was also over cooked. Which seemed odd because it was clearly placed on top of the pasta and not cooked with it. I also get this weird feeling that the pasta was reheated. It came out very fast and it was retaining heat in the center in a way that didn't seem natural. The appetizer was ok, we got artichoke dip. The bread that came with it was horrible! Limp and flavorless, which was crazy because it looked like they tried to pan-toast it. Please just put it INSIDE an oven! This restaurant came off as a place that wants to appear as a fancy upscale restaurant but has no idea what that actually is. It's not dim lights and Steve Harvey suits. It's at the very least properly cooked food. I almost went to sleep I was so underwhelmed. I gave them two stars because the waitress was nice and they gave us free shots. read more
I booked this reservation a month in advance for my birthday so I was pretty excited to try this one out. For starters the food was amazing, I had no complaints as for as that goes. I had the shrimp scampi with the Trio seafood sauce, just get it. Our waitress was great however the manager was making his rounds and asked if needed anything. I explained that it was my birthday and we were sitting in the back right on the side of the kitchen, it was just a lot of commotion. I asked him if we could move, he said let me see if what I can do and for the remaining of our time he avoided us like the plague. Our placement kind of ruined the vibe but I stuck it out because I had a reservation for the speakeasy after dinner. *Pro tip you can eat dinner at the speakeasy downstairs, it's not just drinks. read more

Food was amazing! Our server was so sweet. She gave great recommendations. The atmosphere in the restaurant was one of the best I've experienced. I would only change one thing: instead of garlic bread with the spinach dip...offer torilla chips or pita chips as an alternative. It was good but the bread too heavy for me and my guests. However these fees are ridiculous. 20% service charge plus a 3% fee for using a credit card. And of course you want to tip the server because apparently the service charge goes to the entire restaurant. Also I was charged $2.50 per person for the reservation. That credit was not reflected on my bill. I'm not taking off a star for this. But it is ridiculous in my opinion. read more
My friend and I took a trip to Chicago and this was on our list of places to try due to all the promotion on social media. We had reservations for 3 but was told the two of us could not sit until all 3 of us were there. The hostess also wouldn't allow not allow us to sit at the bar while we waited. When we were all finally seated we were glad that our waitress was a lot friendlier than the hostess. She did inform us that they have a strict 90 min seating policy which I understood seeing that they were very busy. The decor was fun and gave a lounge vibe. As for the food, the portions were large and it was good. We got the salmon egg rolls for a starter, I got the seafood trio for my entree and our waitress blessed us with the butter cake on the house. They also have a speakeasy there but we didn't get a chance to go because they were having a private event at that time. But hopefully I'll be able to experience that the next time I visit. read more

Like most I saw this place on Tik-Tok and had to try it. I told my friend I wanted to try it, and she said come on girl. I made a reservation which does require a deposit. So, we got cute and went to try it. The ambiance was nice. I felt like I was in a fancy place and the decor was great. I did think from the pictures that the place was bigger. The service was okay. We tried the Garlic Bread; my friend had the seafood trio as is with the Corn and I had the seafood trio not spicy with a lamb chop and the Butter Cake. Loved the Garlic Bread and I could have eaten that all day. The Seafood trio had a lot of seafood in it and the sauce was good. My friend though it was just okay. She really enjoyed the Corn. My Lamb chop was weird as it had Cinnamon spice on it. I didn't enjoy that at all. The Butter Cake was okay nothing to rave about. I really wanted to enjoy the food and rave about the place as most have, but it is hard to because when I got home, I was so sick and couldn't keep anything on my stomach. I know most would say it's something else you ate couldn't be when I didn't eat anything that day because I wanted to make sure I could try everything I wanted to. Honestly anything that isn't gym clothes. I have seen people dressed up like on a date and people in jeans and a shirt. I would check out the IG for examples.
Does the $5 reservation fee go towards your meal?
Yes, I went with a party of 3, $15.00 at the time of my reservation. When we were ready we pay, $10.00 was taken off. We spoke with our waitstaff and pointed out the discrepancy and the $15.00 was subtracted.…
