Honestly, this food was so bomb! Lol I still think about those cinnamon roll pancakes. Yum! I had the cinnamon roll pancakes w/ chicken sausage & fried potatoes. Papa had two meals lol. He had the jerk chicken omelette w/ fried potatoes & waffle. He rated his food 9/10 & didn't leave a crumb. We also shared a mimosa tower & it got the job done. There was a 45 minute wait & we were starving but ended up grabbing a seat at the bar so it only took about 15 mins. Our server at the bar was friendly & got our orders in quickly (we were starving). They were playing some hip hop/ r&b but it's not a party & we really appreciated that.

BLUF: Credit card fees, auto gratuity (on parties of 1+), and subpar food. Definitely a skip. Service (3/5): Service wasn't anything special. She came around to check in, and then never again. Someone else was filling up our waters as she was standing on the sidelines. Credit card processing fees and automatic gratuity (even on a table of 2). I'm not a fan of either of those. Gratuity is gratuity. Not a requirement. It should be based on the service provided, not prices of subpar dishes. And credit card processing fees? It's 2026. Either take a hit on that or just add that to the price of the food like every other place in the world. Food (2/5): The wrap was flavorless and dry as the desert. It is NOT worth it. The sandwich was good. I love sourdough bread. I make it every weekend. But... this bread was NOT a good choice for this sandwich. The food would just come out of the holes and turned into a huge mess. The plate was too small for the food, so the table was becoming a mess as I was trying to bite into the sandwich and everything falling apart. Ambiance (3/5): The artwork and greenery were cute. There are garage-door-like windows that were opened to create a breeze, but it let in a lot of car smoke since this place is right on the street. It was also hot outside, so we were a little uncomfy in the resturant with all the windows open and the sunlight streaming in.

Love that the patio is dog-friendly. They brought out a water bowl which was so sweet. The service was a little slow but I think they were training up new employees. The food was good but prices were quite high and there's an automatic 18% gratuity that they did not warn us about so I'm warning you. I don't think we'll be back but it's always popping so hope you give it a chance!

The food was amazing, literally some of the best brunch I've had in the whole city. And the space is gorgeous was perfectly decorated at the time for St Patrick's - perfect for Instagram. The downside to this experience was the service. Despite us coming in on a Friday morning the place was pretty slow, it seemed like they had a full house just with staff but it still took us so long to get our check it really impacted our overall take away. I'm looking forward to coming back in for the redemption because the food was really THAT good.

Decided to try it out everyone was raving about the food. It was all over the Internet. I had the Alfredo chicken omelette. The broccoli is raw. The hashbrowns were basic. The best part of the meal was the toast and the mimosa. The mimosa was good. The service was OK nothing spectacular. It's basic.

Short ribs & Purple Grits with a side of pancakes

The establishment is bright and has a nice atmosphere. Seems to be a fan favorite in the area. We were seated pretty quickly, but our server did not come over for about 10/15 mins and kind of rush us through our questions, he said we should have a special menu but never brought it (we were facing were you couldn't see the specials menu). The mimosas hit, great flavor options there, like dragonfruit and peach. I ordered the short ribs and purple grits and a side of pancakes, the pancakes were delicious. The short ribs and purple grits were okay, I was expecting a hunk of short ribs but it was more of shredded with gravy and too many bulb onions.

The menu here has so many things that sound good! I had to ask the waiter to help me choose out of my top options and we settled on the jerk chicken Alfredo omelette and the loaded hash browns. I was advised to get them without cheese because the cheese can be a lot but when I tasted them they definitely could have used something. I assume they may have been more enjoyable with the cheese added. However, that omelette was so good! I definitely recommend it if you're feeling a savory option. Overall the place was cute and service was fine. I would absolutely return to try something else.

One of my favorite places to come and brunch. Warm welcoming vibes and delicious food and mimosas. Everything about this place was nothing more than amazing. Friendly and attentive staff. Cute decor and outside patio. Just an FYI - They don't take reservations. Get there early to get a table and find parking. This place gets super crowded. Social media has put this place on the map. The apple and dragon fruit mimosa are my favorite. The French toast flight - strawberry, lemon zest, blueberry crunch and caramel apple are all delicious. The bacon was a little too salty.

Haven't been here in 3 years since it was called Frances and I see why. It get crowded on the weekends and you sit pretty close to the next table. Parking is hard to come by in the area. I ordered the fried deviled eggs and these were just right with just the right amount of onion on it for me. My friend had fried catfish and eggs with hashbrowns. I ordered the special which was suppose to be jerk red snapper in a garlic sauce. My friend enjoyed her food, me not so much. There was nothing jerk about the red snapper and the sauce needed more garlic. I will say it tasted fresh but no flavor at all. I had eggs and cheesy hash browns. The hashbrowns were the highlight for me even ordered some to go. No issue with the service, Jesus was our waiter.

Half eaten Devil Eggs!! Sorry they were so good!

OK, y'all this place was amazing. Everyone of us enjoyed our food from the catfish, to the purple grits and lamb, to a strawberry shortcake French toast. Everything was super delicious. The mimosa flight was great, and they even let us take it to go. The shrimp deviled egg is a must do not leave this place without treating yourself to that!! Our server Anthony was amazing, vey charming!

untidy tables. Hard to see but there was syrup on the table

This was recommended to be a great place to eat breakfast. I was seated immediately, as I got there at opening. The server Anya was nice. It took awhile to get some help and there were a lot of people working. I overheard another guest say that there were more employees than guests! The food came to the table and it was quite salty. I tried to drink my coffee in hopes to offset it, but it was not helping as it tasted burnt. I was so disappointed because shrimp and grits are one of my favorite dishes! The guests next to me were very friendly and told me that they were unhappy with their food too. When you are on vacation and looking for a fun place to eat, you really hate to see it turn out like this. The prices were a bit high, so $28 for shrimp and grits would have been worth it if they were good! No one tried to make it right, no one tried to fix it. Did not live up to the hype.

The Brunchery was a nice choice for my girls trip to Chicago. Firstly I love that it's black owned, and if I'm not mistaken the chef was walking around a little checking on the tables - great great service. I decided to branch out and try the jerk shrimp and purple grits. It wasnt my favorite but I can say I tried it. The three shrimp you got were good and cooked/seasoned well however the grits really just were extremely lumpy and didn't have much taste.. 5/10. More than likely would pass next time. My friends had fish & eggs and I think a waffle. They enjoyed their food. Everything smelled great. Though everything came hot, it was a good bit of a wait. However it was PACKED on the day we came. It felt like our table was so crowded with the big party in the booth behind/next to us. As far as ambiance it was your typical relaxed urban atmosphere.Music was on point and everyone seemed happy and calm. Definitely willing to support another black business again when I have a chance!

Now that I have become a suburbanite, I don't get back into the city to dine out often. I was catching up with some friends later in the day, so I got a head start with breakfast. I ordered a French toast flight that came with strawberry, blueberry, lemon, caramel, and a chef's recommendation. I had scrambled eggs and cheesy hashbrowns with the toast. It was all good, for real. In my usual fashion, I arrived shortly after they opened for business. So, it wasn't crowded. As time passed, I noticed it filling up. I imagine it gets busy an hour or so after they open for the day. I'm glad that I stopped in. Whenever I am in the city in the morning on the North Side, I will pop in again.

Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. The wide spacing between tables makes for a comfortable dining experience. So many folks come in to do their work and dine here. What a super addition to the neighborhood that less than a decade ago was essentially a street that was more a run down semi-truck alley. Great menu with neighborhood favorites leaning toward the old school Italian dishes. Sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfasts just to name a few are all excellent. The pastries are insane and a must take home deal. I love the American Breakfast. Three eggs your way, thick diced America potatoes, thick cut bacon, and sourdough toast.
