    Mimosa flight

I really wanted to like this place. I really did. The service and the ambience to start was really great. The chalkboard menu reminded me a lot of batters and berries so I wonder if this place is owned or run by one of the former chefs there. They offered a lot of brunch favorites that I typically would like as well as their special menu. But I was really disappointed to see that they were using AI menus. I'm not one of those people who shuns AI for everything but something about AI food menus. I truly do not like because the food does not look like what you actually get. AI menu aside., I ordered the purple grits and shrimp, which seemed really appealing an appetizing. What I received was played it well; the presentation was great. However, I only received three shrimp in the grits and unfortunately, the food was a bit salty. For its price, I did expect a little bit more. I ordered the mimosa flight as well, which was excellent value for the cost, but I couldn't get over the food. I may be willing to go again to maybe try a different dish, but I wasn't exactly pleased with this experience.

Imagine flying to Chicago for the first time and this is your first meal and introduction to the city!! My taste buds STILL miss this meal. WOW! I visited this place on July 18th and honey, get there early. We arrived maybe 10 minutes before opening and a line had already formed. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The menu is slightly overwhelming because you'll want to try it all lol. We were talking to the people seated next to us because everyone was curious about what was best to order. My biscuits and gravy was *chefs kiss*. The biscuit nearly melted in my mouth and the gravy was savory and packed with flavor. I opted for over medium eggs and the loaded hash browns. My sister ordered the Benedict and cinnamon roll pancakes. The latter was perfect! Not too sweet and didn't need any syrup. We also shared the bacon flight, which I thought was cute and unique. Lastly, we shared a mimosa flight (2 dragon fruit, 1 cotton candy, 1 blood orange).

I have been watching The Brunchary for months on tik tok and I finally got the chance to check it out and meet chef Rylon. Overall I enjoyed my food and drinks. But you can tell it gets packed and it's very overwhelming for the staff. At one point there was some miscommunication with the hostess and bar staff about seating, so they had to relocate us. I really enjoyed trying the purple grits and the variety of drinks were great.

Would recommend (brunch). Stopped by over on the north side for a nice Saturday afternoon brunch, right away you can see the vibrant decor they have. They have outside and inside seating with open window concepts on the side booths (with no bug issues surprisingly). We did not have reservations (they are not on OpenTable, unsure if they do reservations; can double check me though) but were able to be sat right away seeing that it was only 2 people (may have been like 10-15 min wait if not). We were met by our server We started with the Mimosa Flight that came with 4 flavors of mimosas to choose from (Peach, Dragon fruit, Pomegranate, Cranberry), is honestly able to be shared between 2 people as that's what we did but I do recommend getting your own if you are coming there for a good time (one more flight would've gave us a good time if you know what I mean lol); so many mimosa flavors to choose from. They were each amazing in their own way with my favorite being the Peach. For the food, they had a special French toast of the week which was the Oreo-theme French Toast that I wanted to try but could not be due to having nut allergy and they made the specialty French toasts on the same cook station as the other ones that posed a cross-contamination risk. I hate that I missed out on it due to that issue, just something to think about if you have food allergy and wanting to order particular menu items, but I still found an amazing dish, nonetheless. I ordered the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes w/ Loaded Breakfast Potatoes and Eggs (w/ cheese). Pancakes had perfect consistency; they weren't too sweet, which I actually appreciated, and had a butter on the side that was absolutely amazing. The breakfast potatoes had really thick cut bacon bits and had a sauce that was amazing. The eggs were also scrambled well, the cheese was incorporated in chunks which was questionable but didn't really ruin the eggs at all. The meal was good nonetheless; they seem to have very good menu items (overall rating: 9.3/10) Furthermore, I would recommend this place if you want a good Black-owned brunch restaurants with even better drinks and vibes. It is a calm but very good place for social gatherings as well as they have arrays of seating. The service was somewhat timely but still very kind and tended to our needs during our experience. Just some mechanistic improvements that could make this place a 5-star, but in terms of the food solely, it is definitely the real deal, with prices that aren't too terrible to be honest.

This was our first meal in Chicago and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We were seated quickly which pleasantly surprised me on a Sunday morning. The restaurant is beautiful and staff were quick and friendly. We shared the French toast and bacon flights with a side of eggs and both got beyond full. Great experience and conveniently located close enough for us to walk to the zoo afterwards!

Overall, we had a fine time here. The place is super cute and they have a menu with a lot of great options. We showed up with a group of 6 and were able to get a table outside in the shade right away. The espresso martinis were delicious. My tuna melt was excellent and we all loved the breakfast corn dogs. The issue we encountered was that my friend was served her breakfast sandwich on a moldy bagel. When she pointed it out to the server, he kind of played it off but offered to have it remade. He came back later and told her she was right that it was mold and they had to throw out an entire thing of bagels.... But then still charged her full price for her meal. I wouldn't have expected at least a discount once he admitted it was mold! We were here visiting and I'm not sure we'd come back.

Honestly, this food was so bomb! Lol I still think about those cinnamon roll pancakes. Yum! I had the cinnamon roll pancakes w/ chicken sausage & fried potatoes. Papa had two meals lol. He had the jerk chicken omelette w/ fried potatoes & waffle. He rated his food 9/10 & didn't leave a crumb. We also shared a mimosa tower & it got the job done. There was a 45 minute wait & we were starving but ended up grabbing a seat at the bar so it only took about 15 mins. Our server at the bar was friendly & got our orders in quickly (we were starving). They were playing some hip hop/ r&b but it's not a party & we really appreciated that.

BLUF: Credit card fees, auto gratuity (on parties of 1+), and subpar food. Definitely a skip. Service (3/5): Service wasn't anything special. She came around to check in, and then never again. Someone else was filling up our waters as she was standing on the sidelines. Credit card processing fees and automatic gratuity (even on a table of 2). I'm not a fan of either of those. Gratuity is gratuity. Not a requirement. It should be based on the service provided, not prices of subpar dishes. And credit card processing fees? It's 2026. Either take a hit on that or just add that to the price of the food like every other place in the world. Food (2/5): The wrap was flavorless and dry as the desert. It is NOT worth it. The sandwich was good. I love sourdough bread. I make it every weekend. But... this bread was NOT a good choice for this sandwich. The food would just come out of the holes and turned into a huge mess. The plate was too small for the food, so the table was becoming a mess as I was trying to bite into the sandwich and everything falling apart. Ambiance (3/5): The artwork and greenery were cute. There are garage-door-like windows that were opened to create a breeze, but it let in a lot of car smoke since this place is right on the street. It was also hot outside, so we were a little uncomfy in the resturant with all the windows open and the sunlight streaming in.

The food was amazing, literally some of the best brunch I've had in the whole city. And the space is gorgeous was perfectly decorated at the time for St Patrick's - perfect for Instagram. The downside to this experience was the service. Despite us coming in on a Friday morning the place was pretty slow, it seemed like they had a full house just with staff but it still took us so long to get our check it really impacted our overall take away. I'm looking forward to coming back in for the redemption because the food was really THAT good.

Love that the patio is dog-friendly. They brought out a water bowl which was so sweet. The service was a little slow but I think they were training up new employees. The food was good but prices were quite high and there's an automatic 18% gratuity that they did not warn us about so I'm warning you. I don't think we'll be back but it's always popping so hope you give it a chance!

Short ribs & Purple Grits with a side of pancakes

The establishment is bright and has a nice atmosphere. Seems to be a fan favorite in the area. We were seated pretty quickly, but our server did not come over for about 10/15 mins and kind of rush us through our questions, he said we should have a special menu but never brought it (we were facing were you couldn't see the specials menu). The mimosas hit, great flavor options there, like dragonfruit and peach. I ordered the short ribs and purple grits and a side of pancakes, the pancakes were delicious. The short ribs and purple grits were okay, I was expecting a hunk of short ribs but it was more of shredded with gravy and too many bulb onions.

Love this breakfast spot! The place has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it a great place to start the day. The food is excellent, and there are plenty of options on the menu, so there's something for everyone. We stopped by on a beautiful Sunday morning and were lucky enough to grab one of the outdoor tables. The nice weather made the whole experience even better. As expected in downtown Chicago, parking can be a bit of a challenge, and the restaurant was packed with people. We ended up waiting about 10 minutes before getting seated, which wasn't bad considering how busy it was. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and experience were well worth it. I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be coming back again soon.

The restaurant has a nice feel to it. Service was good. The food can use some work, not sure if it was because it was busy but I ordered the catfish plate and everything but the catfish was good. The catfish was cold and soft and undercooked. I'd rather wait a little longer for fresh and fully cooked food than it to be rushed. The hot sauce was the star of the show. The server did discount us for the catfish so at least they tried to make it right. I give it a 6/10. Mimosas 10/10 recommend.

Once I bit into it, the inside was soft, airy, and slightly chewy from the sourdough, which made it different from a regular donut. There was a subtle tang from the sourdough that balanced the sweetness really well, so it never felt overly sugary. I bravely went for the latin-inspired latte flights, consisting of Mexican mocha, Coquito, horchata, and cafe de Olla. My favorite out of these four was the coquito because of the coconut pieces, which blended well with the latte. I know it sounded silly, but I enjoyed chewing these coconut flakes and they were good palate cleansers! The presentation was da bomb as well. The only reason that I couldn't give five stars to "Stockyard" was limited seating. The place was super cute, but there were only 3 tables and less than 4 high chair seating against the windows, plus some outdoor seating on the pedestrian walkway. The laptop users were respectfully directed to sit at the windows and outlets were available. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable. I asked the details of the latte flight and they explained the offerings. I thought there was only one type of latte flights, but I believe the one I selected was very much suited to my preferences. "Stockyard Coffeehouse" is accessible via routes CTA 44 (Racine/Wallace) and CTA 8 (Halsted) busses. Extremely disappointing experience at Honey Berry. As a…read morefirst-time visitor to Chicago during Juneteenth weekend, I was looking forward to breakfast here, but the experience fell far short of expectations. Service Issues:The service was inattentive throughout the meal, and concerns were not adequately addressed when brought to the staff's attention. Basic items such as water, napkins, and straws took an unreasonable amount of time to arrive, with water alone taking more than 10-15 minutes. Food Quality Issues:The food and cleanliness were equally disappointing. I requested extra crispy bacon in my omelet, but the bacon was undercooked and appeared raw. Both coffee cups also arrived dirty, with dried coffee residue inside, raising concerns about cleanliness and attention to detail. Closing Takeaway:Adding to the frustration, gratuity was automatically included despite the poor service. I rarely leave reviews, but I hope management uses this feedback to improve service standards, food quality, and overall guest experience. But I will never visit again!! Our family and extended family often ordered birthday cakes from them, and their mango cake was our favorite. When mangoes were in season, they used plenty of fresh mango in the cakes. Their cakes are always fresh, light, fluffy, and not too sweet. My daughter and I also love their individual cakes, especially the Black Pearl and Walnut Cake. Their pineapple buns and egg tarts are her favorites as well. Saint Anna has also been part of our daughter's childhood. When she was little, my husband used to bring her here before or after Chinese school in Chinatown on Sundays. Her go-to breakfast items were the Butter Bun, Ham and Macaroni in Soup, and Diced Ham and Corn in Cream Rice. As she got older, Curry Chicken with Potato became her favorite. She especially loved the potato cubes soaked in the delicious, mild curry sauce. She would always ask for more potatoes and less chicken, haha! Saint Anna is a family-run business, and Sara and Irene, the daughters-in-law, used to take care of the front of house. They were always so friendly and accommodating. After a 6-year hiatus, we finally returned one Friday recently when we happened to be in the area with a friend. Sara is now a co-owner, and it was wonderful to see her again. She immediately recognized us and was so warm and welcoming. She even asked me to relay her greetings to my sisters when she greeted us and again when we were leaving. Those little gestures made our return feel especially meaningful. We were still full from a big dim sum lunch, so my daughter picked up 2 Mini Pineapple Buns and 2 Paper-Wrapped Sponge Cakes, while I got a Red Bean Roll. Everything was fresh, soft, and delicious, and the total came to just under $8, really a great value. Our friend also purchased 2 Fried Sticky Rice Dumplings with Chicken. I had never really paid attention to their limited dim sum selection before, so that was a nice discovery. We love Saint Anna and will definitely be back whenever we're in the area.

It's clear she has regulars and they appreciate her. She knows what she's doing and prioritizes so that the flow is constantly moving but not stressful. It's like art. She also speaks English and Cantonese fluently so ordering is not stressful, but at the same time, the familiarity of hearing Cantonese is comforting. Food: I ordered Chow Fun with Gravy, Beef Egg Gravy with Rice, a bunch of pastry goods. I'll have to wait to try it all to complete my
