Their Asiago bagel is pretty good with the jalapeño cream cheese, and the breakfast sandwich is generous in proportion [Update 7/10] Just a heads up that they don't do bfast sandwiches anymore at the drive-through (maybe change the menu outside to reflect this and eliminate confusion?). My big had granulated sugar dumped in his ice coffee (instead of the more appropriate sweetener, simple syrup), and I had coffee grounds in my cup this morning...both of which made me a bit sad - PB is so close to our house, but it's getting harder and harder to convince ourselves we should come here instead of some more reliable options a little further away. read more

One of the best bagels I have ever had! I got the Asiago bagel with just regular cream cheese and it was so good. The bagel was nice and soft, it was perfect. My husband got the Great North, sausage, egg and cheese with maple syrup. He liked it but said he couldn't really taste the maple syrup, which was the reason why he chose it. The place was bustling but not overly busy. They have a drive thru as well. I got a regular hot coffee and it was very good. Can't wait to go back! read more

Excellent bagels here, the bakers take the cake with superb taste and excellent physical creation. We were so pleasantly surprised when we stopped in a week ago to get our first dozen. Just tried Providence bagel for the first time. We had a Taylor ham egg and cheese on a plain bagel and I had egg cheese and tell him on a plate. Service was quick, friendly and food was delicious. Coffee is also very good! They also have fresh squeezed orange juice and homemade lemonade. Very clean store as well. We will be back! read more

Holy smokes, awful. Let me just make a list: 1.) Had a coupon for a free bagel & coffee, yet was charged $3.78. Questioned it and the woman apparently thought it was just a free coffee, even after both she AND her manager read it. I also verbally told her I have an offer for free stuff, so they don't listen either. 2.) Came here on a late Saturday morning (11:45 AM) with 5 other customers seated and eating. I ordered, and the 4 people behind me waited 20 minutes for their order. Not a bad wait time honestly; check out #3: 3.) I waited 45 minutes for a French toast bagel with cream cheese. 45 minutes, no lie. 4.) 8 people working: 2 at the driveway, 1 who was going back and forth from the front and back of the counter, 1 baker (? she was in the back and I spotted her a few times coming out to speak to someone and go back to her back room), 2 people actively at the counter, and 2 managers. 5.) 4 people who came in after me, were given their orders before me... 6.) No regular 1% milk for coffee? Weird. 7.) I told an employee I've been waiting 30 minutes at this point. She checked and claimed my ticket wasn't put in. She then got a manager who tried to sort that out. Kept waiting. 8.) FINALLY got my order 45 minutes later with a sincere apology, a bag full of free bagels, and 3 cards for a free bagel & beverage. Ok, they know they messed up. I reallyy appreciate the length they went to fix the issue! But #9.... 9.) Not only did my "French toast" bagel not taste like French toast, but it didn't come with the honey walnut cream cheese I asked for. Good Lord. 10.) Was given a bag full of 7 free bagels: 2 French toast, 2 cinnamon sugar, 3 plain. I ordered a French toast bagel, and was hoping they'd get the hint I like sweet. They have changed a lot of their workers, and they are much better now. The girls working the front register were very nice, and made sure I got everything I needed and was happy. You're tired, achy, hangry and you can think of nothing you'd rather do than relax and afterwards shove your face w some bagels, bc that's how you and the bagels roll. To relax, would you rather: 1. Jump in a hot tub, or 2. Sit in a steam room? I personally choose hot tub, bc just like a bagel, I'd rather be dunked in hot water and not just steamed. To me a bagel just doesn't taste like a bagel unless it's boiled. Old school (it's a bready texture thing). I'd give this place more chances since it's relatively new, but with the slow service, burnt tasting coffee and dirty tables, I'm not exactly in a hurry either. Happy to report that Providence Bagel has greatly improved in recent weeks. The bagels (always yummy) have somehow become even yummier. The attention to both details and customers has become quicker, more alive, brisker. Even when there's been a gaggle of people milling about the shop, the line and the area in front of the register is happily gaggle and mill free! And, the AC didn't freeze me to the floor. Always a plus. And, on a most-special note, Providence Bagel really put themselves out there for the LGBTQ community (of which I am part) by creating a rainbow bagel to help raise money for RI Pride. So here's the deal... I have a NY standard of Bagel that RI has not quite met. I recognize my bias. However, I was really optimistic about Providence Bagel and already pre-meditated comparing it strictly to other bagels in RI and being forgiving in any review I would give. Sadly, 2 stars is my forgiving rating for now, and here is why! Disorganized/Poor Service: Let me start by saying that the people who worked there WERE polite as they could be under such a high volume of customers and stress. I do not fault anyone working the line. However, parking was impossible, the to-go window seemed to be a hazard, waiting on line inside took forever. *breathes*.... Bagel display is poor, no cream cheeses on display, and no one speaks or assists you while on line, only at the register, which makes the whole process more irritating. I was skipped on line twice, I didn't know they were out of vegan cream cheese until I was at the register, they told me they had to "pick up more" which confused me because I was under the impression the cream cheeses were made in house... and I had to let a few people cut me in order to not feel anxious or rude in making a second decision. Then! The two bagels I ordered were handed to me at separate times in separate bags (wasteful).... from two different sides of a packed establishment where I had to cut through a line of impatient and unhappy customers.... twice. I really think this establishment would benefit from having a designated pick up location for the food ordered rather than having different employees with different pieces of your order yelling for you from random places in the establishment. I know that this spot has only been open for a short while, but really, a pick up location for bagels should be figured out before opening your doors. Food Quality: After settling for one of the sandwich set-ups on a bagel to meet my vegan dietary needs, I felt I over-paid for an... ok sandwich on some ... edible.... toasted bread. I do not feel, after 40 minutes of waiting in a hectic environment, that I even got to consume a bagel. The garlic on the garlic bagel tasted burnt, was very thin, and the inside texture of the bagel was not very soft and shockingly chewy for how thin it was. I will try and go back to this establishment once more (perhaps earlier than 10am? The bagels are actually made fresh ... right?) and try another Bagel... to be fair.... but I have to say that I was very disappointed. The only positive thing I really have to share from my trip to Providence Bagel? Good Marketing. Folks in Providence love the Providence Brand and the simple logo and clean cut interior will bring in a lot of people for the first time. 11/29 - I'm officially done with this place. Ordered a bagel sandwich and waited damn near 15 to 20 min to only be told the sandwich was given to someone else! I've given this place a try time after time after time and clearly my reviews keep getting worse. It's disappointing and unfortunate because the Asiago bagel is my fav! ...dunkin donuts it is. 6/16- they dont take sandwich orders via drive thru and clearly inventory seems to be a problem on fridays. The only upside to this, I get to try new bagels. Blueberry bagel with honey walnut cream cheese is very yummy! 5/5 - updating my review based on my experience overtime. I left out this place today unsatisfied. There was a bit of traffic for the drive thru so I went inside. Took about 10 min before I placed my order. Things seemed unorganized. People weren't bring friendly or attentive. My coffee sucked ! And I can't believe at how small their medium is. Saw a lot of good reviews for this new location. Went on Sunday at 10:30. Not too busy, took 20 min to get to the counter. Lots of confusion behind the counter. I'm sure a lot of new people. There were 5 people in a tight area. Things I liked: good selection. Donuts, pastries were a surprise. Things I did NOT like - the boy at the register was eating a bagel and drinking. No clear place to order. The lady in front of me ordered a coffee, the girl says, you have to order that over there. I got a medium coffee and a half dozen bagels. 2 seasame "we don't have any"....I point to the basket - oh, yeah. The coffee was Luke warm at best - house blend, could not drink it. Got home, hoping for a great bagel. So DISAPPOINTED....barely a step above a DD bagel. I'll stick with Bagels n Cream. Try these guys again in 6 months, see if they can pull it together. read more

As a die-hard Bagel Gourmet fan I wasn't really sure if Providence needed a new bagel place. But after visiting Providence Bagel I'm happy to welcome them to the neighborhood! Because they have a drive thru, I was expecting a Dunkin Donuts-type vibe, but the shop is actually REALLY nice inside: lots of natural light, modern decor, plenty of 2-top tables and comfortable seats. Although the location is not so cozy due to the close proximity to 95, I could definitely see myself coming here to hang out and get some work done. As a lot of people have mentioned, these bagels aren't boiled, so they're not really chewy, but they're not too fluffy either. The whole wheat everything bagel had a high density of seeds/onion flakes, and they stuck on while I ate, which is always the mark of a good everything bagel! The plain cream cheese was good quality, and the cream cheese/bagel ratio was on point. Next time maybe I'll go sweet and try a cinnamon sugar bagel with honey walnut cream cheese! I also enjoyed the hot coffee ($2.25 for a medium)! You have the option of dark roast, medium roast, or decaf. They had more information about the sourcing of the beans but I couldn't really read it from the counter (gotta get my eyes checked)! When I visited on a Friday afternoon, there was no sign of some of the chaos people have described. They were out of avocado, but they had a full selection of bagels and are now serving the full menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The prices are pretty reasonable; most breakfast sandwiches are $5.50 and lunch sandwiches are ~$7. Overall, although Bagel Gourmet is still king in my mind, it's nice to be able to enjoy my bagel in a nice atmosphere at Providence Bagel. I hope they stick around! read more

A great dynamic bagel shop addition to Providence! We stopped by to grab a quick meal due to its location near the highway. We arrived at noon and the place was buzzing with customers and the line was to the door. Everything looked so amazing, that I had a hard time deciding what to order. We got an Asiago and a toasted cinnamon raisin with honey walnut spread. They were colossal and tasty! We tried the dark roast coffee and it was impressive. The premium beans were noticeable. In addition to the good food, the staff and ambiance was AWESOME! The space is clean and have a trendy/hipster vibe to it. Clearly, the owner put a lot of effort and thought process in the design of the shop. I loved the displayed labeled bagel bins in the glass window. Went to Providence Bagel for the first time today. Overall I really enjoyed everything, but my to-go order was unfortunalty missing an item and I didn't notice until I got home (30 minutes away ) The Asiago bagel and jalapeno cream cheese I had fresh was BOMB and their iced coffee and Moroccan mint iced tea were great too. I don't often go to shops with a wide variety of teas options (maybe I just go to the wrong places haha). My husband got a ham egg and cheese on a bagel and enjoyed it. Definitely better then the shop America runs on . While I was there, I ordered 3 other sliced bagels to go (only got 2) and a tub of bacon scallion cream cheese which I am pumped to try! I'm sure there is an influx of customers who opt for drive thru due to covid but management should then staff accordingly. This place straight up sucks. DO NOT waste your time and money at this place. First of all, the parking lot is a nightmare and you're lucky if you get a spot. Or else, you spend about 15 minutes driving around trying to find parking. Next, the staff are literally morons. I told one of the girls that I wanted an everything bagel. She then repeats back to me "Okay, so a plain bagel?" To clarify, it was not that loud in there so I'm not sure where her head was at. Then, I ordered the most basic coffee - a small hot coffee black. After about 15 minutes of waiting, I received my breakfast sandwich and bagels. The coffee was yet to be found. After watching about 5 people receive their more complex coffee beverages before me, I finally spoke up asking about where my coffee was. The girl who thought I wanted a plain bagel forgot about my coffee. I was not pleased. The sandwich that I ordered had half an egg on it and old brown avocado. My boyfriends sandwich was of the same structure. The only reason why they get one star is because I can't leave a review without giving a star. Or else, they would get zero.
