Pumpkin Spice Latte and the most amazing Pumpkin Cookies
    Jolene M.

KC peeps I found your next favorite coffee spot. Let me introduce you to @grandcoffee_co ... located by Crown Center and offering plenty of community space with WiFi. Making it perfect for a work date or even a lunch date. Yes, they have food too! Paninis of golden perfection with gooey cheese. So delicious. But if you want to a real treat try the pumpkin cookies. Literally the best cookie I have ever had. Super soft and full of pumpkin spice and everything nice. All the things we love during this season. But let's spill the tea on the coffee... The Pumpkin Spice Latte was so good. Just the perfect mix of coffee and spice. The cold brew they steep on their own and you can tell. It was clean and mild with none of that bitter taste.

We went to Grand Coffee where Slow Rise Donuts was popping up with all of their proceeds going to Children's Mercy. Just a block from Union Station, Grand Coffee is the perfect spot for study, work and meetings with lots of natural light, seating variety, outlets and (usually) a quiet atmosphere. Pastries are made on-site and they roast their own coffee. My husband got the cold brew and I got a cappuccino - both of which I loved!

I stopped in during their "Grand" opening and the place was hopping. The shop is in a large shared space with tons of seating options. A pop-up retail market was going-on as were gift card drawings and free samples. I ordered an espresso tonic and consumed on site and then took away a free cup of drip, brewed from a blend of their beans that they roast themselves off-site. Both were superb. The cashier was welcoming as was Paul, a member of the ownership family that was manning the merchandise table. Paninis and pastries are also available. A nice addition for the Crown Center neighborhood.

Husband and I headed here week to try out there location. We both ordered a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Here are our highlights below * I ordered the Honey Nut Cheerios latte, and my husband ordered a cold brew. I love the flavor of their coffee along with the added flavors in my latte. * Lots of breakfast pastries and treats, we opted for the bagel breakfast sandwich and added the house made roasted red pepper sauce. We also had the grilled cheese bacon panini, so much cheese, so much joy. * The is plenty of space and seating inside the shop, large tables, bar, couches. It's prefer to host a team meeting out of the office or a group. * The coffee shop sits near crown center, so there is a parking garage nearby and street parking out front. There's a great view of the western auto building out front!

Finally got the chance to check out Grand Coffee Company again today and everything was over the top, amazing. We started with coffee and I got a iced caramel latte half sweet and a peanut butter banana protein smoothie. Both drinks were so good after the drinks we got some cinnamon rolls, protein balls, and a slice of banana bread. I am a sucker for a good cinnamon roll. To finish off of the trip. I got a sausage Panini and a bacon grilled cheese I cannot recommend the bacon grilled cheese more. It was amazing and so cheesy service was quick. There are tons of seating areas and spaces whether you want to work from home or study throughout the coffee shop. There's a great atmosphere inside with the cutest Murch and murals service was super fast and friendly parking was easy for downtown. I highly recommend this place.

Grand Coffee Company is a perfect spot to grab coffee, pastries, and even lunch in downtown Kansas City. Out of all the spots to work at in KC, this spot is great because of how much space there is and how many tables there are to choose from. The Wi-Fi is strong and there are outlets near almost all of the seats. Besides coffee, you can order fresh smoothies, protein shakes, espressos, cold brews, lattes, and more. The paninis are so delicious that you will crave to go back! Check this spot out today!

what better way to warm up on a cold and snowy day than with a delicious cup of coffee and a toasty sandwich from Grand Coffee on the menu: breakfast sandwich, caramel macchiato, hot chocolate, and a bagel with cream cheese our thoughts: love the relaxing vibes and great open space, lots of seating with convenient spaces to work. the coffee is delicious, especially the specialty coffee drinks, and they offer a wide variety of breakfast items, pastries, and sandwiches our tip: grab the chess board and enjoy a great game while sipping your drink

When Monarch closed their cafe at this location, I was so sad! This was the perfect study spot for me. So when Grand Coffee Company took over this place I was excited to check it out!! The owner is super enthusiastic about coffee, and we have actually worked with him/Grand Coffee numerous times with our school to provide coffee catering. If you're a company, school, whatever, I would recommend getting catering from them! Anyways, the ambiance was the same as before, they didn't change much in terms of decor/seating (which is a good thing since it was perfect the way it was before). The coffee is also great and definitely keeps you awake, lol! The only thing is that the hours are 8-3pm on weekdays only, so I can't always study here due to being in school during those hours BUT when I do, I try to make it out here. This coffee shop definitely is up there in terms of the KC coffee scene, a place to definitely try!

This place was a huge pain to find parking--- it literally took 40 minutes lol but that's because we weren't looking in the right places. There's free street parking on Grand towards downtown / T-Mobile Center! The space is perfect for co-working and it's a very spacious room. They got everything from booths to couches to long tables to short tables. Aside from the lunch rush, the space remained relatively empty. The barista was super nice and welcoming and helped me settle on a latte from their specials menu. The White Chocolate Mocha Latte wasn't as strong as I'd like, nor as sweet. The drink was pricey (as they all are nowadays), but Grand Coffee Co is the perfect place to study.

Delicious coffee and plenty of space inside to spread out and enjoy it! Very kind baristas. Will be back!

So I'm surprised it took me this long to write a review. We stopped by the River Market location last night, and one of the quickest ways to judge a place is simply to look around. There was a line of people waiting to get in and others lingering outside, happily working their way through whatever they had just ordered. That's usually a pretty good sign. A few years ago, Betty Rae's closed its shops, and there was real concern that the brand might disappear for good. Then Matt Shatto of Shatto Milk Company rode in on the proverbial white horse, revived the brand and began expanding it again. I clearly need a few more visits to work my way through the flavor options. When you first walk in, you'll see wooden blocks displaying flavors. Those are just some of the classics that are always available. The big menu behind the freezer cases is where the real decision-making begins. And if you can't decide, the staff is more than happy to let you sample your way through the case. As someone who considers chocolate chip cookies and cookie dough their own food groups, I went with the Cookie Dough. What stood out most was the texture. It was incredibly rich, dense and creamy, almost closer to frozen custard than traditional ice cream. My niece, who is a far more experienced Betty Rae's customer, swears by the Lavender and Caramel combination. I'm not sure I would have ever put those two together, which is probably another reason I need to go back. And Betty Rae's is about more than what's in the cup. The River Market shop has a comfortable, funky personality that fits the neighborhood perfectly. The servers were exceptionally friendly, and even the music is part of the experience. You can find their playlist on Spotify. Great ice cream. Fun place. Terrific people. And apparently, I have a lot more flavors to try.

One note: the photobooth in the back is advertised as B&W but it's actually color lol

This spot has a cult following and I'm embarrassed to say how long it took me to get over here to pick up a cone and see what it's all about. I am glad though, that I made the trek and I'm happy to say I've been back a few times since! First thing you'll notice about this spot is that it's a walk up counter, and there is something charming about that. There are a few tables outside on the sidewalk if you want to stay and enjoy your ice cream on the spot. The next thing you'll notice are all of the interesting flavors, my favorite so far has been the banana haze, but I have a feeling they all are good. On hot summer nights there will be a line here, but it's worth the wait and honestly what ice cream spot doesn't have a line in the summer? The folks working are always super nice and willing to answer any questions you have. You'll walk away with a really great sized scoop for the price and one of the best ice creams in KC.

I ordered the Campfire S'mores ice cream, and although it was rich and creamy, I didn't really get the nostalgic hit of graham cracker, chocolate, and marshmallow. I felt like I was eating a glorified vanilla. For the price and hype, I was expecting more. Would I go back? Maybe if friends wanted to go and try it. Edit: The owner of High Hopes wrote a response including the statement, "Yelp glorifies amateur critics, giving them a platform for disproportionate, often weaponized power to individual opinions over professional expertise." It sounds disrespectful toward Yelpers, as if the typical person or customer isn't allowed to say whether they like or dislike something. That is the entire point of this platform, and arguably, any customer review. The response from Jamie invalidates the individual's experience and alienates the customer. If this is the culture behind High Hopes, it does not feel inclusive to all. Therefore, I will not be going back. I will keep the review at 3 stars because I stand by my original review.
