It's not a vegan friendly place the one vegan dish they have is good but not great I wouldn't be back for it. I would go back for the delicious vegan mocktails or sake cause the place is best for cocktail hour for vegans. Ambiance is nice. Didn't like that the lady that checked us out didn't know Apple Pay and I had to tap into my wallet to prove to her she had to go get the other machine cause the one she had in hand was broken. I had not been to Pubbelly since a while back at their Miami Beach location. When searching what sushi places were in the Dadeland area, Pubbelly popped up. With plenty of outdoor seating in the street area and a few very well distanced table and bar inside, they are surely following CDC protocol. The vibe is swanky inside with some loungey house music sure to put you in the "weekend vibe". I mean post pandemic, this is important because bars and clubs are a "no no" for me. The whole experience was fantastic. From getting a table, I suggest reserving ahead in open table because they were pretty full on reservations, to the service and food. Yum! I think everything I tried was noteworthy. Must tries: the buttery crab roll, Big eye tuna crispy rice, the yellowtail nigiri, the Mochi dessert, Turning Japanese cocktail. And I just learned that most of these are offered in their daily 4-6 happy hour. Will definitely be returning for that. They also have a new brunch as well that looks pretty good. I didn't have a yelp account until now! My server tonight, Gaby, was AMAZING!! I came in with a friend and we were set on only getting sushi rolls until she informed us on their Miami Spice menu! My friend and I were able to try a little bit from the entire menu through spice! We absolutely loved everything! Ordered the heat roll to start (sorry no photo) and then the tuna sashimi - all plates are tapas but they're enough for 2ppl to share. And lastly we got the toston ceviche. Three words: Butter Krab Roll To be honest, that is all you really need to know about Pubbelly. It's delicious. It's shredded Krab wrapped in soy papper served with a ponzu butter dipping sauce. You will not want to share this. Each roll comes with three large pieces filled to the brim with Krab. Seriously, it's amazing. Aside from the Butter Krab, the food on the menu is so tasty! Honestly this spot has my favorite sushi roll in Miami and just for this I have to give them 5 stars. Since the pandemic I haven't gone to eat here unfortunately but I continue to carry out and get my sushi to go. Every time I do I always make sure to get MY FAVORITE: the butter crab roll. I normally get about two of these because now I have my 9 year old son hooked on these too. I usually get other rolls to go. Visited this restaurant for the first time with my brother to catch up. We came in around 8:30-9 and the place was decently busy. Cute ambiance too. Our waiter came by to get us water and explained that their food is meant to be tapas style. The only roll she pointed out (the butter crab roll) only has 4 pieces, so naturally we assumed all rolls only had 4 pieces. We began deliberating on how many dishes we needed before I decided to look on yelp and noticed some sushi rolls do come with 8 pieces. My brother asked for a roll with mozzarella cheese, which they mentioned they were out of, then ordered the fried salmon roll which was good, but heavy. We also got the waygu dumplings which were delicious. The sauce confused me because it didn't really have flavor or add anything to the dish, but the Parmesan cheese was delicious. I also had the octopus which was delicious, but I wish it didn't come with a lime on the side because it's already marinated in lime so it doesn't need more like I normally assume when I added it. The waitress also seemed to forget us a few times. Ultimately I would try this place again because the food was pretty good, but maybe not so late next time. read more
