We went for restaurant week. $25 for a starter, entree, and dessert. I had the French onion soup and it was so delicious. Not too salty. Plenty of crusty cheese and a very clean and tasty broth. My husband chose the salad and it looked like it could feed a family of four. He said it was really good. I ordered the bolognese and it was such a huge portion. I think I could make 4 meals out of it. Generous amount of meat too. It was so good. The sauce was not too salty and was very rich. My husband had the lox Benedict. He really loved it. For dessert, I had the basque cheesecake. It was also a very generous portion. It was perfect. Light, creamy, not too dense and not too sweet. My husband had the pot de crème and it was very good. Very thick, creamy and chocolaty. $25 for that much was is fantastic deal! The bolognese was worth that alone. The only thing was that the service was not top notch. My husband specifically asked for no salt rim on his margarita. The server brought him his drink and said "they put salt on the rim." ‍ and instead of taking it back, he just set it down and shrugged his shoulders. My friend asked the server what kind of vinaigrette was on the salad and he told her blue cheese. Turned out it was not. My husband also asked for scrambled eggs, not poached and they brought out poached eggs. Not once did he apologize. I don't know if he was new or what but it was a little disappointing. Overall, highly recommend!

Furthermore, my purse was stolen while I was at the restaurant. I reported the incident to the police, but in my experience, the restaurant owner and manager were not cooperative with the responding officers. They told the police there was no camera footage, even though there was a camera directly pointed at our table. Between the disappointing food and the way the situation was handled after my purse was stolen, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

I originally booked Omakase room by Tadayoshi for August 15th dinner at 5:30. To my shock it turned out Omakase room is closed that day but my reservation was still active and I confirmed it as well the day before. My husband wanted to try this Omakase place for a while and I thought the day was perfect for it. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed and I was taken by surprise as I didn't have any alternative plans or reservations. We first spoke with General manager at Boucherie and she kindly offered us to take a look at the menu and see if we wanted to dine there instead. I was very upset that the planned and anticipated reservation didn't work out. I said yes at first because I didn't know what else to do but we got an amazing server Revo who lightened the mood and Manager Michael was very kind to us and understanding. While dinner started not on a great note, it ended up the best outcome we could have had. Everyone we interacted with was kind and great. I would love to come back again but now specifically for Boucherie and in a much better mood. I totally understand that reservation issue is not Boucherie's responsibility and I still don't know how this all happened. But we hey made our anniversary dinner a fanatic experience. Many thanks to them and also to the sommelier. Wine list was great and we received great recommendations. Thank you, Boucherie team for everything, I was ready to start crying at the omakase room after seeing it was closed but now I will be back specifically for you and the great food. Beef bourgonion was the best I have ever had.

This was such an odd dining experience; I think I had a good time but it was so strange…read more My husband and I happened upon La Grande Boucherie after we were deterred from our original dinner plans. We arrived at 7:45 on a Saturday night to see if there was room for two or at least room at the bar. I wish the hostess had told us that we could wait at the bar for a table to open up, as we saw that's what many other patrons did, but she told us there was bar seating and high tops and so my husband and I went on up. We easily had our choice of two seats at the bar or a high top, and we selected a high top. After 5 minutes of no one acknowledging us, my husband and I told each other we would wait two more minutes before we would bail. Right as we were about to jump ship, a server came by and asked if we wanted menus. We said sure but it was just strange that no one greeted us, it was just "you want menus?" Lol. Another server brought us menus and asked if we would like water and a breadbasket. We said yes and after about 15 minutes, bread arrived. We chatted with the server about what drinks we should order; I ordered a French 75 and my husband ordered a special Sazerac. We also ordered the tuna carpoacio. After about 10 minutes, the server came back and to confirm if I wanted the soft side cocktail and if my husband wanted an old fashioned. We said we did not and corrected him. Then, a server tried to give our drinks to the table next to us and our server corrected him and brought steak tartare. And then he goes "oh wait, did you order this?" We said no and he asked if we wanted it because if not he had to throw it away lol. And then 5 seconds later, the tuna came. Both the tuna carpaccio and the steak tartare were delicious. But this was the entire evening: we ordered something, something else came. I ordered a glass of sparkling rose, and an espresso martini appeared on the house. We had to ask for our bill twice and when we got our bill, it was definitely someone else's. Finally, as we were preparing to go, the original server comes back and goes "here's your espresso martini." Like bro we asked you originally for the check and we are clearly leaving. Luckily, my husband and I had plenty of time before our show, it was a great atmosphere, and the food was super delicious. It was just such a comically bizarre experience and I feel like they are definitely losing money. I think we paid for half of what we ate and drank and probably ate and drank other people's food! Maybe we will go back? Maybe not lol

We ordered a huge spread including the escargot, mussels, mushrooms, salmon, ravioli, roast chicken, and rib eye. Every single dish was fantastic, but the escargot and mussels were particular standouts. Everything tasted fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with lovely French flavors. We paired the meal with Chimay beer and red wine, both of which worked beautifully with the dishes. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient, with everything arriving fresh and well prepared. The atmosphere is what you'd hope for from a traditional French bistro--cozy, lively, and authentic. After trying several French restaurants in DC, this one stood out for me. Highly recommend if you're craving a proper French bistro experience!

We arrived shortly after 7 PM and waited a few minutes before being seated. Despite being a weekday, the restaurant was lively and packed. Our server took our orders quickly and everything began trickling out within 10 minutes AVAL FRENCH CIDER ROSÉ - 9 I'm not usually one to order drinks at a restaurant, but I wanted something sparkling and not too sweet. The AVAL French Cider's Rosé was perfect. It was a crisp, semi-dry cider that paired well with the food we ordered. GOUGÈRES - 11 I initially thought the sauce was paprika butter, but it's actually the most airy cream cheese I've ever tasted. It's essential with the Gruyère cheese puffs, which were light and fluffy with a subtle cheesiness. BŒUF BOURGUIGNON - 23 The burger was incredibly stacked, standing mighty and tall. Sadly, the bottom patty was pretty soggy from all the sauce and grease, so I had to tackle it with a fork and knife. There was a generous amount of short rib, which was tender and flavorful. I appreciated the caramelized onion and smoked bacon, which added a bit of sweetness to balance the rich and savory flavors. Overall, it was a solid, filling, and satisfying burger. FRITES AU FROMAGE - 10 The fries were fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. I did enjoy the fries being drenched with the Gruyère fondue, but the cheese quickly solidified. I wish there were a way to keep the cheese soft and melty. LBV has been on my list for a couple months after one of my friends raved about it. After I told her what I ordered last week, she informed me that their Gazpacho Vert and Choux à la Mango are absolute must-orders. I guess I'll have to go again!

The beer selection is incredible, vibes are solid - it is pretty old world and upscale for a beer joint - but if you are looking for a full meal vegetarians should go elsewhere. They *have* vegetarian options but it's one of those things where they do the bare minimum because they have to and your choices are like...the one thing. Which leads me to the one vegetarian entree, the risotto. It was fine. Not mindblowing. Small portion for the price - small portions all around, frankly. See my pic. Our server, who was impressively attentive/efficient given that he was the only person making the rounds to all of the tables in the upstairs room, which were packed because of the World Cup, recommended getting.the brussels sprouts small plate without bacon, so I did. I did not like it. It came with pomegranate seeds and a sauce that were sweet but then had parmesan and savory flavors that did not go. I suspect the salty, fatty bacon was important to balancing out these flavors. People I was with got house pickles, fries and meatballs which all appeared solid. The portions for the fries and meatballs were pretty teeny for the price IMO. Like I said, beer selection is out of this world. Not mad at the prices or portions there, especially given that it's largely imported. Is this personally a place I would make a go to? No. Only if I am taking out a friend who is super into beer tasting. But if I were super into French and Belgian beer and or really liked that kind of food (eg mussels and very meaty Northern European dishes) ? Maybe. So my personal recommendation is to come, have beer, enjoy the ambiance, and treat food as an afterthought for if you need something to eat.

The French Onion Soup was serviceable but lacked the deep caramelized onion richness I look for, with a broth that leaned a bit too salty. The Escargots were a pleasant surprise, swimming in a vibrant pesto butter that begged to be soaked up with the adorable mini bakery served alongside. The standout of the evening was the Chicken Liver Pâté--silky, delicate, and beautifully balanced by a lightly sweet layer of jelly that complemented rather than overwhelmed its mild, refined flavor. The Seared Sea Bass, in reality a nicely cooked branzino, was moist and flaky, elevated by a flavorful almond-studded sauce. The Omelette, however, was rather ordinary, offering a soft texture but little depth of flavor. Overall, a worthwhile visit, especially for the pâté.
