I moved in January and was out by the end of the month. They charged me for February. I disputed with them and my bank and received a credit from bank and a refund from public storage. My bank then removed the credit they had given me. They sent me to collections and it too a few phone calls and emails to resolve it. Now they have sent me to a new collection agency and are trying to say I did not move out in January. This company engages in fraud. read more

The facility itself is okay and seems well-maintained, but the access hours are misleading. The website says they're open from 6am to 9pm, but when I went at 8am, there was no gate access. It's frustrating when the posted hours don't match the actual access times. read more

I was verbally told I wouldn't lose gate access until the end of the month for an unpaid balance. Now I'm here to load more stuff and you've locked me out of the property. Please show me in writing. I've had this unit for over a year. The girl who called me last week was rude af and petty for locking me out. Please show me in writing so I can say she's just unprofessional but was doing her job. Amazing! I am shocked at how technology has improved everything in this world, even storage facilities like this one. I booked online and have accessed the unit via the app haven't needed assistance from a human yet and probably won't need it. Very easy and convenient to use. Access is by code only so you don't have people wandering about who shouldn't be in there. You feel very safe. Jose happened to be in the lobby where my storage unit is located and greeted me with a friendly hello and help with the access code. The place is cleaner than some 5 star hotels around and has amenities like Dollie's and restrooms inside. I highly recommend this location. read more

Do not I repeat do not rent a storage unit here. I rented one online with the promise of elevator access on a second floor. Get there to find a Uline brand stairs on wheels as the access point for the storage unit the "elevators" were lifts that are operated like a forklift that are never in service and never have been available for use it over the last year. The hours are ridiculous on a Saturday you can't have access until 9:30 AM and you have to be out by 6 PM. Do yours a favor goes across the street to extra space storage. Awful all around! read more

They keep raising the rent by significant percentages, they don't prorate if you move out before the end of the month, if you get an unit above another unit it could be very dangerous as you risk falling and the portable stairs are very steep making it difficult to put things in or get them out, the hours suck as you can't access your unit past 6pm, the manager never answers the phone, and the cherry on top was me finding my possessions covered in pigeon sh*t literally. Rent started at less than $100 for a 5x5 unit a few years ago to now being $184 a month! SMFH! Last increase happened 3 or 4 months ago with barely any notification. Blew my mind when I checked my credit card statement and saw rent had gone up by over 20% from $147 to $184. I said screw this and put my notice to vacate immediately. Highway robbery! There are plenty of better, cheaper options out there. Renter beware! read more

Will prorate billing and merge it into the new bill Pre- Bills They send several billing emails throughout the month which can confuse the consumer and loss track of what you already paid. Will auction property and make you owe and pay for the full month of the auction month and tack on the next month although the next month nor the full billing auction month has not arrived. They have their auctions in the middle of the month so it is criminal to bill and charge a consumer for Services not received and then not allow the consumer to obtain the money by the due date to stop the illegal auction for which they pre-bill the consumer for. read more

As far as storage places go, it is all right. It is relatively clean, there is one staff member there during business hours, they have always been nice enough and helpful. But since I have had this storage unit, which is not very long, they have raised the rent 3 times. started below 200 now almost 300 a month. I am going to have to leave and find alternatives. I have the same complaints most others do. This is not very secure, cheap doors, lock latches and chicken wire tops (I understand they is in case of fire, the sprinklers can water down the units) but there are so many better solutions to this that are not really that much more expensive. Overall it is an average place, with expensive prices. it was reasonably price but now it is getting out of hand. Be mindful, they may give you a cheap price to get you in, then WHAM, they start with the random price hikes. And who can you complain to, no one, and will they care, probably not. read more

Come to find out after looking at my bank statement only 2 months later, that they raised the price, not just $10 per month or $20 per month but $30 per month! $360 more per year after just moving my stuff in less than 2 months previous. I called to find out what happened and was told by Johnathan that prices change and there was no flexibility. Horrible way to do business, to hold your customers hostage after they've moved all their stuff into your storage unit, then raise their rent substantially after only 2 months. OK so I rented this storage unit out because it was brand new and they gave me a really good rate at 115 a month for a 10 x 10. Which was really good. Upon signing the contract I was told that this rate would be locked in by Angelica as long as I was a customer. Four months later towards the end of February I get a email telling me my rate is going to go up 15 more dollars in April. I called and asked about this and was told because I'm on a month-to-month, my rate is subject to change, which is what I wasn't told in the beginning upon signing my contract. I asked about that and was told that wasn't true which is complete BS. One thing I won't tolerate is a thief or a liar. I definitely got lied to in order to gain my business and that's not OK. I don't blame the people in the office. I blame the people above them. The greedy people and higher positions that are making the people in the office do the dirty work really disappointed in this because I really like my storage unit. It's very clean and haven't had any problems there. Just beware upon signing your contract if they tell you, your rate is locked in as long as you're a customer, it's a lie and don't say I didn't warn you. read more

Got the best deal from a PS at this location - all other PS and competitors wanted $10-20 more per month. Made a reservation on the website but decided to upgrade to a larger spot when I signed up. The cost difference was only a few dollars more a month. The staff was courteous and helpful. The tight franchise integration with the website is a real plus, allowing you to pay and manage your account. I'm happy, no complaints. The storage unit itself is very basic, but it's priced right and works just fine for me! read more

I have an account in this public storage for over 5 years. There are alot of employees that come and go that have helped me during these years with public storage on Deering canoga park. I always go to Anthony for my issues who is the most helpful person with a great customer service. Yesterday I came across with the worst customer service received from Greg. Greg was not only unhelpful, but very disrespectful. He was very rude and racist with a very bad attitude. While I was at my box the auto timer whent off on me as Greg was passing by I asked Greg if he could please turn on the switch. I asked Greg three times and he kept ignoring me while walking and passing by. The customer that he was talking to asked me where is the switch and he turned it on for me. I thanked that person for helping me out. Public storage does not deserve people like him and if he does not like his job he should quit and look for another one. 2. When I was leaving home I threw my empty bag back in the open trash can. Greg came behind me and said rudely if you don't take it out he will cancel my lease. I told him the trash can was open so I threw my bag pack. Greg was very disrespectful with a loud tone of voice instead of talking and explaining but I still did not need any explanation as I have been going there for years and I don't have any furniture or any large objects and that's why I have the smallest box. Do not rent here unless you want a 10% rate increase every 6 months. Storage rate went from $113/ month to $127/month after 6 months. Was told it will go up again in another 6 months. That will be almost a $30 increase in one year. Office staff is very nice. Doesn't make up for corporate greed. Regional manager Jonathan was an argumentative jerk on the phone, saying "everyone wants to pay less but prices go up." This has nothing to do with the people working there. In fact they were very nice. My issue was with the MISLEADING information. Watch out for the SMALL 3x7 they offer, unprotected storage (no roof - open) and the NEEDLESS FORCED INSURANCE!!!! The 3 x 7 is actually the area under a small set of stairs (a RIGHT ANGLE - NOT A BOX/RECTANGLE). If it was a normal BOX type storage like all the rest then it would be fine. I had to go up to a much bigger spot that was not covered properly. Wire fencing! So if the fire sprinklers were to go off accidentally, my stuff would have been ruined. The other thing that rubbed me the wrong way is the FORCED INSURANCE they add on at the end after you think you are at a final price you are comfortable with! Like a rental car, you should be able to decline it.... BUT NO! Especially if you are doing a temporary storage thing (2 months) for stuff that isn't worth much (less than $600 - just sentimental stuff). I own a house and my insurance covers this type of transaction. So to say they are doing something dishonest... I will let my lawyers look into it. I took my business elsewhere and for a lot less money! Nice staff, but business is a mess/scam. read more
