SCAMMER LOCATION- DO NOT GO HERE I only had my belongings in storage for 1 MONTH. Public Storage negligently refused to inform me that there was a break in just a few days prior to my storage unit getting broken into. Yes you heard that right.. multiple break ins in one weeks time. They do not change the door codes (even after a break in) and anyone can get in and easily get into your locked unit. So many sentimental items gone that I will never get back all because they didn't inform us of the break in. Do better public storage. read more

So...in order to keep up with our payments, we decided to do Auto-pay, only to find out that our bank mailed out the check late, which caused us to get a late fee from Public Storage. I explained the issue to Jasmine at our location and she was able to get the late fee waived. Not only that she submitted a request to get our monthly storage fee reduced! It hasn't been approved yet, but she went above and beyond with the customer service to get the fee waived and then to request a rate reduction for our unit! Now THAT'S Customer Service!! read more

First of all you can barely get anyone on the phone or find anyone in the office because they are rarely in there. Then every month that I've had the storage unit I was past due on the rent because of the fact that someone else was paying for it due to me and my small family being homeless and money having to go to other costs, but I have always been able to access it throughout the month and would lose access at the end of the month because that's when they wanted to start throwing on lien fees and everything and would cut the lock in the middle of the following month. So this month I show up and yes I am past due but was told and received the email that stated the rent needs to be paid by the 30th of this month to make sure everything would be okay but it never said that my code would be disabled if it wasn't paid between the 1st and the 11th. This is the first time this has happened just like their price hike that they did this month. I have never had so many problems with a storage company before and I have dealt with many in my life and they would give you time to pay instead of disabling anything without notice and without trying to auction your items off the next month. I will never return to this public storage ever again. read more

Fantastic experience from beginning to end. I have a small business that needed storage, and I had two drive-up garages for months there. I was there pretty much every day, grabbing the stock I needed. Well-kept, gated, safe environment. Outstanding customer service from Jasmine, the manager, and staff. Over time, Public Storage did raise and actually, at times, lowered my rent after a certain time being there, but the convenience was worth it and necessary until I moved everything to a 3PL. If your ready to get robbed, then put your valuables in this storage. The staff nor corporate will care when it happens nor will they help you. In fact they are most likely in on it and don't care. From the 1st robbery till the 2nd no repair was made nor had we been contacted. We were left to deal with it. Our storage unit was broken into twice within two weeks! The top was peeled back and that's how it was accessed. We could see that other units had also been broken into. We didn't get an apology or anyone checking on our unit. In fact my partner was harassed by one of the staff while assessing what was stollen. Please pay a Little more and find a more secure storage. Bait and switch. I reserved a spot, the only one available, according to the staff and when I came to see it, the ceiling was falling down and there was debris all over the floor. The unit was 7.5x10. When I asked to see a clean unit, I was told there was only one unit left and of course the price was $30 higher and instead of the first month at $1 as I had been promised, the offer was only 50% discount. This is a clear example of bait and switch. Shameful. When I attempted to call and speak to a supervisor, I was brushed off with leave a message and they'll call you back. On December 30, the roof leaked on this building causing significant water damage to the contents of multiple units. Tenants were not notified until January 4 by email - management offered to replace damaged boxes for free but provided no other assistance except that affected tenants could call a 1800 number to file an insurance claim. Multiple calls to that number always return a two hour wait time to speak to a claims person; the website associated with the company where one can also file a claim returns a database error. Stay away - your possessions will not be protected and don't expect any accountability from the owner when they are. read more

Need more room? I'm a pack rat. I have things from decades ago that has traveled from another state to Asia and then here. No joke. I live in a matchbox and need somewhere to store all my stuff. Public Storage has been there for me over the years. Their $1 for first month deal has been around forever. What they don't tell you is that there's an upfront one-time admin fee based on the size of the storage. I always start my rental on the first of the month so my first month for $1 is maximized. Oh, they also make you buy insurance. Don't let the construction deter you from this new facility in Hayden Tract. Traffic here is relatively low in this industrial park area. Besides, there's another Public Storage down the street, or so it seems (so my squinty eyes report), so plenty of room for everyone. I'm impressed by how clean this Public Storage is. Even though it is mostly empty, it doesn't creep me out coming here by myself, though after dark is another story. The prices are reasonable, the hallways and general areas are clean and brightly lit (controlled by motion-sensors) and there are a whole bunch of security cameras. A unique access code is assigned to you and you can only access the elevators with this code (I haven't tried going to a different floor yet, will update later). Parking is right outside the main doors. The facility is open from 6am-9pm and the rental office is open from 9:30-6pm M-Sa, I believe, which also means that the dolly and restrooms are available at this time as well. Overall, this is the best Public Storage I have experienced so far. Just don't run a business from here or store anything illegal (i.e. corpses). Be smart and buy your own cylinder lock and use cardboard boxes from the grocery store and save some money! Service from the people at the front desk are of the typical minimum wage worker with attitude...you know what i'm sayin'. read more

I spoke to someone named nance there, total attitude because i had questions about hours and how to access my things. So the way they solve their security problem is by putting up a code gate and now I can't access my belongings later in the day/evening, just during office hours. read more

I've been at this location for about 7 years. They have been great to me. Jasmaine the property manager is awesome. She's been there a while and you can tell she loves her job. Yesterday I left an expensive item on the 4th floor. I didn't realize it until today. I called Jasmaine and she had retrieved the item and held it for me. Her and Kye really helped save my day. After my unit was robbed and the only item my mom left me before she passed was stolen, management has completely ignored me. They don't care. "We treat your stuff like our stuff" is all a marketing ploy. You can't get a hold of management. They will not answer your calls. There is only one lady at the property and she doesn't escalate your requests. They gave me a new lock, and the key doesn't open the door. I now have to pay for a locksmith to open up my robbed unit. Ok except they are trying to charge me after I told them I moved out. Be sure to get something in writing when you move out! Besides this issue around moving out, my experience was fine. When I moved in and out, carts were generally available and the elevators always worked. The restroom was out of order for a few days so that was annoying, but it got fixed. The staff was generally friendly and it was pretty easy to park close to the elevators. It was also nice that my unit was climate controlled. Reading the other reviews, I didn't have any issues with theft, but then again my stuff was not valuable. For my move out, I went into the office on Wednesday September 27. The woman at the counter said if I scheduled my moveout for Friday, I would only have to pay $0.37 for a partial month. I said that sounds good, and when I handed her my credit card, she said don't worry about it for $0.37. On Friday, when I had finished getting the last of my stuff out, I went by the office again shortly after they opened at 9am. When I walked in, they seemed to recognize me and asked if I was all moved out now. I said that I was. They confirmed my unit number and said they were going to go check it right then. 3 days later I get an email saying my monthly rent was late. I figured someone hadn't processed my move out correctly but I figured they would sort it out. 5 days later a woman calls and tells me I owe them for this month's rent. I said I moved out last week and told them so. She says she will call me back. She calls back and asks when I moved out and whether I notified them. I said I moved out on Friday and yes I notified them. She asks whether I received a receipt for the move out. I said no. (I wasn't offered one.) She says she will talk to her manager. A few minutes later, I get another email from them with a bill. Now I have called back twice and no one is answering the phone. I scheduled my move out in advance for Friday September 29 and when I was done moving out on the scheduled day I told them so. Both times I talked to them in person, in their office. On the phone call, I got the impression the woman I was talking with didn't realize my unit had been empty for 5 days. Not sure what happened on their end but I just wish they would take care of this and stop trying to bill me for a unit that I told them was empty. Besides me telling them, they also could have seen my unit didn't have a lock on it, but it seems they didn't notice or check that for the last 5 days. I will update this review once this gets resolved. UPDATE: I went in to the office the next day and Jasamine immediately recognized me and said she would take care of this before I could even ask. She said she would call once it was processed and left me a voicemail a little while later. She closed out my account with no balance. So this turned out to be a mild hassle but at least the resolution here was easy. Upgraded my review from 3 to 4 stars. read more

I rented a unit in May 2016 when they were running a promotion of 50% off the monthly rate. Five months later I received a notice that they are increasing my rental by $30/month. I was under the impression it was for life of contract, however the fine print says "Subject to change". So beware, what you think you'll pay what you'll really pay over an extended time period will be more. I would have been OK with the increase after 1 year but not 5 months! The 3rd floor was burglarized by a group of criminals over a 7-day time period in October 2012. It took several days for the staff to realize that the door to my unit had been pried off the track. Multiple units had been broken into over a week. They realized the floor had been burglarized after the thieves had done their damage. By that time, it was too late. Of course, my unit was one of the last to get hit. This could've been prevented had the staff done daily visible inspections and walk-throughs when the 6+ other units got burglarized a few days earlier. The thieves were eventually caught (thanks to cameras that caught the license plate), but PS had zero remorse for the victims. Zero liability even though they were negligent. They claimed to do daily inspections/walk-throughs, but evidently, this was not true at the time. **How did the crooks get access to the 3rd floor? They used fake IDs and credit cards to rent a random unit. They also used their fake IDs and credit cards to rent moving trucks and other storage units across the city where they could stash the stolen goods. Once they had access to the floor, they started committing their burglaries in random units in the far back of the floor. They committed these crimes before the office opened in the early morning. And they kept coming back over a 7-day period. The thieves did more than $200,000 dollars in theft/damage at this location alone. Respect to the Culver City police department for catching these morons, but they only ended up doing 8 months in jail. No restitution or apology. Of course, they got out and went back to crime. Crime pays! Point of this review? Store at your own risk and beware of meth-heads that steal to get their next fix. read more

Emergency storage rental space for cheap? $1 move in special with a $22 one time admin fee. Ok I can do that. Now I'm not sure if that extends to the bigger sizes or not because I just got the tiniest one possible. Miraculously all of my stuff has fit... now I'm not sure if everything that I moved into crazy landlady's house will on top of that but... well I always did love Tetris. Customer service on the phone- corporate was excellent. When I first rented the unit though, there were 2 guys there that were just dicks. I have only been working with a woman there and one other gentleman (I believe her name is Sylvia and his name is James). The female manager corrected the other rude person's attitude & I have not had probs with him since then. One great thing is that they have dollys there to help with the move. I swear this helped me and friends TONS. However, if you need them, you'd better get there before the office closes- because otherwise, the dollys are locked to a wall. They weren't the past couple of nights.. but tonight when I needed to unload only 2 more carloads (my car is teensy) they were. Now I have to wait until 930am when they open to get the rest of the work done :( Update: all packed into storage sans a few things at crazy landlady's place. Acquired assistance from a friend and a few movers... THEM: Why isn't your bf helping you? ME: I don't have one. THEM: How long have you had this problem? ME: Who said it was a problem? :) Very thankful to the assorted characters that helped in the game of tetris movery. Told me it was protocol, though they never informed me before that it would happen. Today, went to use the unit (which should be open until 9:00pm) and it denied access due to the area being closed. After escalating that this was unfair to have been baited with a low rate for the life of the rental and then switching to a 26% higher rate, I will change storage companies.
