    I looked at several storages, and Jessica was the reason why I rented from here. Very helpful, and courteous. Definitely a place to rent.

Throughout my rental time with this place Rent would just increase without any notification. You miss one day and you are already getting calls and e-mails about your payment needing to be made. And when you were late they would be calling your relatives about the payment. I remember recently speaking to Angie about my late payment told her I had just lost my job and that I would figure it out and make my payment soon. Emails and calls kept coming in. I was going through looking for my missing dad and at the same time with a back injury and seeing those annoying calls was very overwhelming. Answered one of the calls and she told me I had to pay my overdue amount which I did then I got a call back stating I didn't have access to my space because I still owed another amount. Then by this time it was more that I had to pay which was not right. Had issues paying the remaining balance the system was not taking my payment. Tried contacting real customer agents and to be honest it was a mission to talk to someone. Bot chats are the worst because they don't understand your questions. Finally was able to get my payment done and when I did go try to access my unit my code wasn't working. Again I had to go out my way to get help. My code was Locked and I had no gate access to get to my unit. Apparently it had to be refreshed because it hadn't passed enough days that I made my payment so it wasn't giving me access to it. Then I encountered I needed a code to remove the extra lock that was placed on the lock.This was the worst experience I've ever encountered with any company. There is no real customer service support helping or easily to access for questions or concerns. At this point I didn't not want to speak to anyone from my Rental space. I needed help from someone other than my storage office. Took numerous attempts to actually speak to someone and that should not be. Finally I was able to access my unit and come to see some of my stored items damaged maybe by rodents . At this I want nothing to do with Public Storage but I hope my review helps others in going with different rental company who actually cares about their customers. Owners should be aware how frustrating is for customers to have their rent increased without notification and even worst to have to talk with the same people frustrating you because there is no other customer service personnel.

    Filthy dirty units, property isn't kept up, insects in sticky traps up and down the halls, rat shit…read moreinside the unit i first got inside, outside unit I got after was super dirty, I asked the person working to please sweep it out and she just left the broom inside the unit and did nothing, the lights don't work in the unit and outside lighting is terrible, just met the manager who lives onsite and leaves her vehicles parked in the red zone 24/7 if I could leave my car parked to take my service animal to the park around the corner for thirty mins and she told me no! And then went on to tell me that scooters and bicycles aren't allowed on the property, it says online that this facility has climate control it's an absolute lie there is absolutely no climate control here. Oh and the only place a code is required is at the gate the rest of the building remains totally unlocked 24/7. There is no accessible restroom either.

I will report them to the county for enforcement. They told me they cancelled my insurance without notifying me, then, when I asked for a credit, they claimed that they did not cancel it. They randomly stopped sending me statements. It is impossible to get in touch with anyone who can help. Found rat droppings in and around my unit. Avoid at all costs. Seriously - you will regret using them.

"A postcard was sent" was the response when I called to find out why the increase. I check the mail and definitely didn't get a postcard. Even if a postcard was mailed, they couldn't send me an email? I'm getting those monthly emails showing me they got paid. This feels like sneaky business practice. No apologies for the miscommunication or offer to work with me when I said I would be looking to move to another storage company. I'll be moving my things to Public Storage in the next week. Too bad SmartStop's owners need to squeeze more money and lost a customer. Would definitely NOT recommend this business.

We rented a unit here to store some stuff of my mom belongings that died of cancer, and when we went to check on them, we were horrified to find that the place was completely infested with rat dropping. We even found a dead rat. Unfortunately almost all of my moms sentimental items were damaged beyond repair. Furniture, family heirloom- completely ruined. I tried to reach out to the staff and district manager Derrick, hoping they would help or at least compensate for the damage, but they were completely unresponsive and dismissive. It felt like they didn't care at all about the situation or loss we experienced. No apology, no offer to fix the issue, nothing. Instead I was stuck with the responsibility of cleaning out the unit with risk my health to see what I would reserve anything that was left of my mom. I was also let with a bill when I had to hire someone to help me hual everything out of my storage that was damaged. I can't believe they let a place this unsanitary and unsafe be open for business. PLEASE do yourself a favor and find a more professional storage facility - this place is a nightmare that robbed me for Over a year. Absolutely awful experience. I would give zero stars if I could!!!!

They were also much cleaner than most of the other facilities I had checked out. Jay was also very patient and helpful when showing me all the different storage options they had available.

That was until my brother up and moved out of the unit I had subleased to him without notice. I had minimal time to remove the few large items and boxes of mine he left behind. Fortunately, i received a response from the kind people at Storbox the only day I had left before the land lady was going to have everything junked. I feel terrible for forgetting her name but the very courteous, professional woman at Storbox that greeted me was a real life saver. It was late in the day, they were open for 1 more hour and she was able to go over contract details, storage unit sizes/prices and standard grounds procedures/protocols so efficiently that I was still able to return to my new unit within operating hours and achieve my goal of having all my items safely and securely relocated by the days end. There are multiple storage location options in Pasadena but Storbox was the one to come through in my time of need and I can confidently recommend this location without a doubt.
