BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! My storage unit located at Public Storage at Landing Court in Novato was broken into and thousands of dollars of my things stolen. I rented the unit on Sunday afternoon to get stuff out of the path of wildfires, and went back today, 5 days later, and the lock had been opened, and rugs, art, electronics, my mtn bike, and stuff I don't even know yet... GONE. IN FIVE DAYS. The staff tried to convince me I must not have locked the lock! I called the Novato Police, and they tried to convince me I either didn't lock it, or maybe one of my friends came back and took stuff out. The only people that know where that unit is my two lifelong girlfriends who spent hours helping me move, and Public Storage. The only unit targeted was mine, as far as I know. The staff didn't act with any urgency or move to check on any other units to see if they were also targeted. If you know of anyone that moved their stuff out of a fire zone for safety to that location, or any other Public Storage location, WARN THEM. read more

Excellent experience with being a first time extra storage customer. Andrianna was superb at customer service and explained everything thoroughly. Facilities were clean, well lit, safe and better than I expected. Very convenient location also. It was nice that I could fill out most of my info on line. read more

When I rented the unit they had me pay a full first month, and then prorated the days of rent for the second month. When I moved out on 10/9/20 with a month's notice they insisted on collecting the full month's rent or send me to collection. You know they are going to collect double rent on the unit - very unfair - reporting this business to consumer protection agency. They said they do not pro-rate when someone moves out even with notice. Then their associated company providing unit insurance said they refused to end the insurance policy because I owed money on the unit. What a racket!!! Do not recommend!!!!! read more

I just received notice of a 6% price hike at Public Storage. The monthly rates at Public Storage are exorbitant. In 2011 the monthly charge was $159.00. Now it is increasing to $340.00. Simply a ripoff. read more

I was in need of short-term storage. Yoli was extremely helpful and the storage unit has worked out very well.

Renting was breeze. Una was very friendly and professional. The site is very well kept and secure.

As general manager of Novato Public storage, Una is Number Uno! She was extremely helpful in arranging the storage units that we needed on very short notice! She checked in several times to make sure that we had what we needed and that everything was working out for us. Horrible customer service, extra fees that were not disclosed until they were about to swipe my card, inconsistent hours even though they are supposed to be open during their "Posted business hours". I wouldn't waste your money here. Try a different storage in Novato. read more

We have had units here since September of 2008 and upgraded from our original inside 10x10 to a drive-up 10x20 a couple of years ago. My biggest complaint is that they jack up the rate nearly 10% every year. If you contact them they claim it is just to bring it up to market rate, but surprisingly it goes up every year and it is always 9.2%. Go figure. I am actively looking for alternatives. read more

All was well for several months but on the day I arrived with a truck to empty my space I found that the roof was leaking and several boxes of books, clothing, and other possessions were soaked. I'd been told that all I had to do was show up and billing would be stopped as of that day, but when I got there I was told a different story. The monthly automatic debit had been applied to my account the day before and now the story was changed to say there was no way to refund the rest of the month. Royal rip off. Read the fine print and be sure to look at your stuff to make sure the roof isn't leaking! read more

I was pretty happy until last night when I got there and there was no one there and the gate was wide open. Honked my horn many loooooong times and no one ever appeared. The phone number is useless. No one answers. Endless "hit this number" nonsense. Follow up this evening. 24 hours after. Still broken. 850 storage spaces with no security. Arthur is a complete moron. And he admits it. Don't trust this knuckle dragger to do anything other than sell you. When I asked him "Arthur...Your job is only to sell people storage space right?" The answer was yes. That's all he does. "It's a big company" was his best hit. When I pressed him on the security issue he tossed to "it's a large corporation." Oops...I used the fword because I was so irritated. "You must leave my office was the response." Really? My stuff is at risk and the guy in charge gets to toss me because I say f%$#? Really. I could go on. Bad place. Do NOT put your stuff there. So I was thinking about upgrading from the 5 x 10 that I currently have, to a 10 x 15, or the 10 x 20. Came down to the property and I was shown a few different storage units, and seen the inside so that I can get better understanding of how big the units were compared to the little tiny one that I have right now. Jasmine was very helpful, knowledgeable, patient, very customer friendly, and understanding..... Come in and chat with her with a good attitude and you'll go out with a great one... This is the kind of service I like to see you when I visit and establishment, even though it's just the storage unit, it's still people working professionally with great attitudes.. read more

The facilities were always clean, safe to access, and conveniently located. We had a small amount of water damage to a couple of items due to a leak, but Lisa addressed the situation quickly and professionally. Purchase the insurance offered at the beginning of the lease! read more

My large unit was burglarized and about 1/3 of my possessions were stolen. I have some suspicion that it was an inside job (although I believe the person no longer works there). Additionally, the insurance they sold me through "Orange Door Storage Insurance" (but really handled by Sedgwick) proved useless because they denied the claim due to lack of physical evidence of break-in (the lock was cut and taken). AND, they just sent me a notice that they're raising the rate on my unit. There are no security cameras on site. I've watch cars camp at the entrance in full view of the staff inside, wait for another car to come up and open the "security" gate, then tailgate in behind them without the staff caring in the least. The staff are there until 6 pm, yet the facility is open for another 3 hours without any supervision. That pared with the fact that a $30 pair of bolt cutters will grant entrance into any unit in seconds, makes storing items in this facility a risky proposition. As a side note, my "10x10" unit really measures 9x9.5. read more

Just moved in and everything seems fine. Lisa helped set us up and was very friendly and helpful.

I was fairly happy with the physical storage they offered. The financial side of things is another story. They tend to raise the price regularly well beyond the current rate of inflation. The worst part was when I moved I my stuff out. I paid the month in advance as per the contract. It was 9 days into the month that moved everything out. When I inquired when I would receive a refund for the prorated portion of the month that went unused, I was told that I would not be receiving any refund. Apparently it is their policy to consider any portion of the month as a full month's service. Sounds like theft to me. read more

Clean facility, after 6 years storage I was surprised no damp or mold on any clothing or equipment! Always very helpful and cheerful staff. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for short or long-term storage. read more

Beware! Do not use this storage facility. Our stuff was stolen. The building was not broken into only our storage unit. The only people with access are people who rent units in the building or work here. I will let you connect the dots. Quite the horrible experience. read more

Public storage is a clean and convenient location to store my belongings. The customer service has always been superb!
