When this storage company was run by old management and previous owner there were no issues. Since…read moreit has switched to Extra Space there has been multiple issues. First, the elevators; either one or the other has been broken. One elevator has been broken now for almost a month. The inside of the elevators are dirty and smear marks seem to never disappear off the walls. The floors of the storage unit never seemed to be swept. My wife and I move things in and out of our storage and dust and particles are always flying around. Those same dust and particles seem to always be there, some for weeks. With previous ownership, the floors were always cleaned and often we would see the employees sweeping and taking out the trash. With prior management and owner, the AC was always on. The inside was nice and cool and you hardly broke a sweat when moving things in an out of your storage, now it's like a sauna in there and makes it uncomfortable to even more a little. Since Extra Space has taken over, the AC has been non-existent. The last thing is the gate time. The new hours were an upgrade from previous management, 6am-10pm, but the only issue is that offer the elevators are turned off before 10 or the gate doesn't open. I was there at 930 trying to get to my unit and my code did not work. My wife and I have a small business and need to get to our inventory, but when the hours listed don't match, this causes us to lose money. This was never an issue with previous management.

When I brought this up to the manager the end of last year they said they would correct it. The unit descriptions still remain unchanged, prices are the same. Buyer beware. The other comments here are accurate. The place was immaculate when it was owned by Oakland Rd. Self storage. Now that Extra Space has taken over, the office is always locked during advertised business hours, the rear elevator is consistently "broken" and auto repair is being done on site. Management is never around. Expect to be gouged on prices after your prepayment, so prepay if you are staying longer.

Many places had high base rates, misleading "free month" promotions, price increases, and extra insurance or admin fees. We also checked Trojan and Extra Space--Trojan, in particular, advertised two free months online but only honored it if you moved in exactly on the 1st of the month, which is unrealistic. In contrast, A1 honored a free month even though we moved in mid-month and ultimately gave us a much better deal. Michelle made the whole experience smooth--highly recommend!

I rented a unit from February 28 through July 31, and my monthly rent increased by $411 in less than six months. In my experience, I also found evidence of rodents in my storage unit. Although I did not store any food, some of my boxes and automotive chemicals were damaged. Before signing a storage rental agreement, ask: * How often can the rent increase? * How much notice will I receive before an increase? * Is the advertised rate only a temporary promotional price? * What pest control measures does the facility have in place?
