They raised price for storage in less than a year from $80 to $150 for a 5'5. Management does not answer or return calls. They also do not provide price matching alternatives. $150 is way too much and takes advantage of people when their things are already in storage. We moved out of our storage unit today which is the fourth of the month because this company upped our monthly rental rate by about 20%. When we turned the keys in they refused to prorate us for the remaining 27 days of August. An increase of the price and not refunding or prorating our rental seems rather unreasonable. The rental units are clean and secure but the service and the cost is outrageous. read more

There was an issue within their system that made them pause before setting me up with a unit space. I had to speak with Brittany, the district manager, on the phone. She assumed that I fully understood what the issue was an accused me of attempting to abuse the online promotions. I did not fully understand what her accusations were until much later, and they were blatantly ridiculous. When she was on the phone with me, she raised her voice, then hung up on me. I called back, to which she then claimed I was "rude," proceeded to tell me that she "didn't have the time to speak with me because she has 9 locations she needs to manage," and suggested that I take my business elsewhere. She claimed she has the right to refuse service to anyone, but when I replied that I didn't understand why she was refusing service, she again accused me of promo abuse. She promptly said that's the end of our conversation and hung up. All of this was witnessed by the desk agent, Amorosa. Amorosa explained to me after this dialogue what Brittany was accusing me of, apologized for Brittany's terrible customer service, and when I finally could understand what the issue was, Amorosa and I worked together to get the unit I reserved at the price I expected. You're only as good as your employees and Amorosa saved the day. Brittany certainly had a chip on her shoulder and could definitely use a session on communication skills. I am thankful Amorosa witnessed the exchange and led us to a good experience. Five stars for Amorosa, 1 stars for the district manager Brittany. Promote Amorosa please. She is quality. I normally don't write reviews but this needs to be known. Be careful leaving your stuff here. There are many rodents. I believe it came in through one of the many holes from inside the storage unit. We found a dead one in our storage unit and rat droppings all over our stuff. I had to throw many items away because of the mice. There are also cockaroaches. After a few months they also raised our monthly fee from $130 to $180. In my opinion not worth paying for storage if your items get ruined form the vermin. The workers are unprofessional. Rented a 5x5 unit a while ago for $75 a month. After a few months they raised it to $99... Besides they are not friendly nor competent, they are probably have a policy not to help customers - or at least try very hard. Today is my favorite! They changed the code w/o informing me. I had to go to the office to get it, which wasn't easy because i didn't had the code to get out of the gate. There was not even a chance that lady was going to move from her chair to bring the new code to me. Great Customer Service Public Storage! I will move out of there before my stuff is stolen (happen to my storage neighbor today) or the price is going through the roof. I would do negative stars if I could. Just got into town and realized my belongings won't fit in my temporary stay. So I booked a storage. Keep in mind that I'm super tired and i admit it's my fault for not reading thoroughly. This locations access hours are the same as the office hours. Also all sales are final. I didn't realize until after that I wouldn't make it back in time to store my belongings. So I asked if they could transfer my transaction to another location with more accesible hours. I'm very upset and disappointed. It would be nice for them to be courteous and advise that all sales are final. So now I'm stuck with all my belongings out in the street because of this location. When I arrived I was hot tired irritated! I arrived and went into the office... Greeted with the Biggest smile... After unloading my entire experience, this sweet young lady explained everything so that I had a clear understanding... My friend has a storage unit here and we went so she could start clearing it out of old bridal magazines and other valuable stuff. The place appeared clean and well kept. Would have liked the intercom where you could access it without getting out of your car. The lone employee that day went to lunch so I had to go offsite to find a restroom. This is my first time ever doing public storage so I was a bit clueless on the whole process. Booking my unit was good and easy the customer service over the phone was good. Butttt when I actually got to the place the girl who was working didn't have good customer service. From the moment I first called her she was acting like a smart ass, I'm sorry to say that but it was just rude. When I got there she didn't even reach out to help me I had to keep asking her for help. She did help me but just for that one thing. For example, I was having trouble trying to locate the storage unit so I called her and she gave me vague instructions and then we hanged up. It was raining btw that day. Then when I finally got to the unit, I couldn't open the door so I called her back and she was telling me over the phone, but I'm here like struggling and she couldn't of simple reach out and said like "hey I'll come down to help you and tell you the rest of how to store your stuff". Like I had to keep asking her for help. Then she did come outside to help me to open the door and then she quickly was going to leave lol and I'm like wait how do you lock the unit? I had a terrible experience with this facility. Many negative aspects, beware. The place is infested with rats and mice which are inside the storage units (see pics of droppings.) I reported the rodent infestation to the on site agent, who offered to rent me a different storage unit, but told me I would have to pay a transfer fee and move the items on my own! Public Storage is the largest storage provider in North America with over one BILLION dollars in annual revenue. The CEO earns millions of dollars per year, yet they don't spend any money to maintain these storage units. Take a look at the pics I posted - the rubber seal on the bottom of storage unit doors are badly cracked and worn out, resulting in excess dust gets into the storage unit. The rope you pull to open and close the door is torn and came apart. When I first rented this unit I made a reservation on Public Storage's website at a price of $145 per month. When I got to the facility I was told the cost was $218 per month (exact same size unit.) This was a classic bait and switch. Furthermore, at the time of original rental I was told I must buy the extra insurance at $11 per month. I will never do business with Public Storage in the future. read more

Had everything stolen on 2nd break-in attempt on my unit. Also, the absolute worst customer service and experience with a business in my life. Staff has purposely hung up on me before as well. The only camera this location has is LITERALLY at the main drive in gate...THAT IS IT!!! Despite repeated complaints that the security door to my storage unit hallways was broken for 5 months, they never fixed the door. No cameras anywhere and a the Police arrived to take the burglary police report, LAPD specifically told me they REGULARLY respond to burglaries at this Wilmington Public Storage. Ownership and management does not take security the least bit serious. I only accepted this location because price was good. But in the end, I had many items burglarized and it cost me more in the end. Please, let my experience be a warning to you. I personally recommend you pay the extra $20 per month and go to another storage facility with locked doors, professional management and cameras!!!! read more

Today my daughter cancel her storage unit and she ask if she needs to pay anything, the lady in the front counter (Rosa) told my daughter she had a past due of $160 but never explain it to my daughter that she was paying the whole month of may not only 2 days and cancel her storage. In that case she should have kept the storage for the whole month and drop the keys on the 29th of may. Public Storage just kept a whole month rent. that lady is just plain rude people like her needs to get fired for not explaining why was all that money charged for. read more
