I've been here a few times and RAVE about the waffles. (They are hands down some of the best waffles I've ever had). However this trip was different. I ordered the Brekkie Sandwich Supreme and after a 30 minute wait was greeted with a sandwich that was not supreme. The service here is pretty decent, and everyone has a great attitude. But after paying what I paid for mine and my fiancés meal then adding the wait then add to it her food was not hot and mine was messed up it was compounding disappointments. When I brought up the fact that my sandwich was missing all the things I paid for, they were brought out on a plate for my own assembly instead of issuing me a new sandwich with all the pieces together. Now, no business is obligated to do that, and no one wants to be wasteful, but the gesture of even offering that would have gone a long way. All in all I was disappointed with the experience, and my fiancé was disappointed with the food. Which sucks because I hyped it up. I'm sure I'll return, but when I'm not sure. read more

I ordered food from here and had it delivered. While to-go orders don't traditionally live up to the appeal of eating inside the actual restaurant, that was not the case here. I ordered the Tangerine Orange Bento, and the presentation of the food was exceptional! I was so excited to dig in. The chicken was tender and the egg was cooked as I requested. Oh this review is a long time coming... I helped organize a wedding reception at PublicUs for a friend and her wedding party, and I was SO TAKEN with PublicUs! The manager and entire staff were SOO HELPFUL assisting me with a 45min turn-around between commercial hours and the after-hours wedding reception. We turned this sunlit, cheery cafe into a beautiful oasis of flowers, greenery, and candles-- making my friend's wedding party dreams come true! Everyone seemed happy with the cocktails and bar selections, and the food was EXCELLENT. Packed with so many layers of flavor and clearly homecooked. My husband loved the braised short rib musabi, and I thought the Bang Bang Chicken was a highlight for sure. When my friend told me she wasn't going to have a wedding cake, but that PublicUs would be serving their bread pudding, I initially thought she was out of her mind. Everyone expects a wedding cake! But... PublicUs uses every bit of their delightful pastries daily-- whatever isn't eaten or sold is made into their famous bread pudding... and that's where the magic happens. Yelp Review 2024 #24: I've been coming to PublicUs for brunch with friends since they opened 8 years ago and it's time to update my review. They've been consistent with the quality of their food and good service. The menu has changed within those 8 years. They have a good selection of food and I've never had anything I didn't like here. Whether you're a normie, vegetarian, vegan - they got you! The correct process of dining at PublicUs: 1. Scan the QR code for their menu (note that they have specials that are not on the menu so, check out the display case) 2. Stand in line to place your order (and also, get your parking ticket validated) 3. After placing your order and paying, take a number to take to your table (and if you got a baked good or drinks, grab those as well) 4. Find a table (do not save a table before ordering and getting a table number. Trust me, you will find a table before your food arrives) 5. Wait for your food to be delivered to your table My go-to's: Breakfast Sandwich (eggs, bacon, aioli on a sweet Hawaiian bun with a side of potato chips) Short Rib Bento (tender short rib, rice, salad, pickled veggies/ kimchi, Mac salad, egg) Wild Mushroom Salad Short Rib Musubi Cookie (both the Chocolate Chunk cookie and the Cashew and Date Chocolate Chunk cookie. And they're huge) Lemon Lime Iced Matcha (a tart refreshing cold drink) They have seasonal items like the Pumpkin Crunch and Pecan Cake in the Fall, bao in February, etc. Aside from their delicious food offerings, their drinks are also impressive. They have regular coffee, pour over, espresso, lattes, dark chocolate mocha, matcha, horchata, chai latte, mimosa (they offer bottomless mimosas), juices, teas, and plenty of milk alternatives. I don't recommend their Thai tea though. At the time of writing, there's construction going on in front of PublicUs. You can still get access to their parking lot from the other side - and the parking ticket machine isn't working at the moment. This is located in Downtown Las Vegas and that should give you a clue as to whom they cater to: ALL PEOPLE (and well-behaved fur babies are welcome). The decor is quirky: Asian and Kaws which I appreciate. There are some collectibles, dinosaurs, wooden bear decorations, etc. I love their plates too especially when I get the plates with a dog in the middle. Great ambience very attentive staff. However, I dislike the food. I'm not sure how one messes up tofu but ... Their version consisted of a fried tofu in some sauce similar to mapo tofu. Which was texturally a nightmare for me. It was around $80 for an avocado sandwich (sibling barely ate it), tofu bento (barely ate it) another sandwich (whatever it was was not memorable and again my other sibling barely ate it) a cookie (if they had messed this up I'd probably have rated 2 stars). Gotta say, the staff and drinks are the thing that saves this place. Had some iced coffee which was room temperature but eh, that happens. My sibling got a coffee with latte art which looked nice but only tasted fine. Not the biggest fan of this place. It's my least favorite brunch / breakfast spot at this point. read more

I don't understand how this place isn't on a Top 100 list. Might have been my favorite stop in Vegas and it was the last one on our way out. So innovative. So unique. AMAZING FOOD AND DRINKS. REAL TREES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TABLES?! If I had to define it with one word "EPIC" would be it. Soooo much to look at, the decor was dope, the pastries were tantalizing and the coffee apparatuses were neat. The staff really made this place all come together as one of the best places to visit in Vegas. They were awesome and so charismatic ! I wish I could have ate a bite of everything there! I was with my parents and we eat got a bite of each others food and a sip of everyone's drinks. My dad got an old fashioned espresso that wasn't an alcoholic old fashioned and it was yummy! And it was probably one of my favorite coffee bevs of all time. Dude, my mom got their macadamia nut latte, they make their own mac nut syrup and there's small chunks in the latte and it is the BEST MAC NUT LATTE ON THE PLANET. Yeah, I said it. I got me the braised short rib masubi, drooool. My dad the Mahalo bento box of amazingness and my mom, an avocado toast 100% worth the price. I walked in and instantly knew it was my kind of quirky, fun and different vibe. I can't explain how many interesting things were in each decoration wise. From Keanu reeves inspired drawings, to a Chinese dragon, to a t bone art instillation, and trees in the middle of the table, it's a super cool ambiance. this place is not kid-friendly. you have to order then sit, but there were two small kids in our party that we didn't want running around so they sat down at a table with their mom while my brother and i ordered. it was over 100 degrees outside so standing outside was not an option, and there were multiple available tables. one staff person came to say we couldn't sit at a table until after we ordered. i replied that there are two small kids and they need to sit while we figure out our order. then a floor manager same to say the same thing which made us feel very unwelcome. he said there are other tables in a different room. we weren't ready to move yet because the kids and mom hadn't decided what to order yet. i asked to see the room to see if we want to eat there. the staff person said the whole party should go to the other room too. i insisted that i be able to check out the other room first. on the way there i explained to the floor manager that we wanted the kids to not run around near the line and situate them somewhere while we sorted out the order. the floor manager didn't care and just kept repeating the rule. zero empathy for the difficulty of toting small children around. then some aggro customer who had no idea what was going on got mad at me for supposedly mistreating staff and ended up saying the kids shouldn't come to the restaurant and threatened to slap my brother. the only reason we stayed there is because it would be too hard to go to another place with the kids. and the only reason they don't get one star is because there were other staff members who deescalated the situation with the aggro customer who threatened us repeatedly and provided good service. so if you have small kids, you should find a different place to go. i chose this place to support a locally-owned business but was treated like unwelcome customers because we needed a few minutes to sort out orders for small kids before ordering. read more

Loved, loved, loved this place! In our 5-day visit we came here twice. They have a very eclectic menu which is created from the talents of all of their employees who bring their specific skills and flavors to the menu. So hard to decide what to get. In spite of all that I simply got the avocado toast on my first visit only because I wasn't terribly hungry. It was beautifully presented and absolutely Fresh and delicious. The second time I was there I got the "Shakshuka" which was so flavorful! Both times we bought a slew of their amazing pastries, including the Apple muffin, the ginger cake, the bread pudding, and various danishes. As a pastry chef, I appreciate it the quality of these items and that they had so many vegan options both on the breakfast menu and in the bakery. Fabulous food with lots of vegetarian options. Their entrees are in huge portions, and baked goods are big and awesome. Breakfast and lunch only - they close at 3pm last I checked. You should know that you will need to order at the counter and then your food/drink will be brought to your table. There is generally a line to order, but food is delivered quickly. It's a little off the strip off fremont strip but one of the best breakfast/brunch spots i've ever been to. They have house baked bread a pastries made, bento boxes, and all kinds of things to satisfy all types of cravings. Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30pm. We were able to find a seat for our party of 5 as lots of people were coming in and out. There was a little bit of a line but it was moving very quickly. Parking: Lots of street parking near by Service: We had a great experience here!! Staff were so nice and welcoming. We came on a day where they had their magician in and he showed us a quick magic trick which we really enjoyed while we were waiting for our food! Food: Chilaquiles were delicious, highly recommend if you are a fan of chilaquiles. Fresh and crispy, not soggy at all. Brekkie sandwich was also delicious! Loved the hash brown inside and the sweet Hawaiian bun. We got potatoes as a side. It is also great if you love bacon (they put lots!) Both the blueberry scone and oatmeal cookie were also very good. They were both very large and we were able to cut them into 8 pieces each to share. Loco moco was also very good and the portion was huge!! It comes with two scoops of rice as well as mac salad and a side salad. Bang bang chicken bento had a great sweet and spicy flavor to it. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. We also loved the spicy pickled vegetables it came with. Lastly, we were not a fan of the brioche frenchie toast. The fruit compote and ricotta topping were good but the texture of the toast itself was a bit off. It didn't really taste like toast, more of a dense cake like texture? At a kid-friendly experience. We were urged to get off the couch several times before placing our order, despite having two little ones who had to sit down to decide the order. There was little flexibility and understanding from staff which made us feel unwelcome. A further customer became aggressive and threatening and the situation escalated further. After going through for the second time, this is definitely one of our favorite brunch places. The first thing we notice is that the staff is always super hospitable and friendly. They always go above and beyond to check in while also making interesting small talk. Both times, we also noticed the customers coming in and out were an extremely diverse demographic. All walks of life's and races in a restaurant with a lot of unique style and a laid back setting where you order at the counter and sit where you want. My favorite menu item (and they were all good so far) was the PublicUs burger. The bun was firm but still moist on the inside with a well seasoned juicy burger within balanced well with the sauces/veggies. Super filling. Only one knock was the flavor of the chips had a bitter after taste which I was not a huge fan of but didn't mind. The bang bang chicken bento was delicious too. The juicy boneless chicken with an amazing balance of spicy and sweet paired well with the pickled veggies. It's becoming a tradition to come here when we can. read more

Finally leaving a review after my third time here! Since finding this place, I get the Garden Farm Benedict every time and each time it has been very consistent and super tasty! I get my eggs over easy and they come beautifully cooked with some savory hollandaise sauce and earthy arugula. Sourdough is always perfectly crispy and toasted but if you poke the eggs first and wait a bit longer, it soaks up the egg + hollandaise + arugula so beautifully. Potatoes come perfect every. single. time. I'm not sure how they cook them but it always has the most perfect crispy burnt edges that just add so much more to the dish. Some roasted veggies and raw tomatoes come as part of this plate and serve a beautiful harmony of flavor which is why I order the same thing every time I come. The only complaint is the hard crust on the sourdough that is so hard to cut through even using a steak knife. We also tried the Chimichurri Steak & Eggs and steak was cooked perfectly. A small side salad was nice and fresh and those same perfect crushed roasted potatoes were there. Service was great as always and answered all my questions for the menu. We came around 9:15 on a Saturday morning and the line took about 5 minutes and food came promptly, drinks took a bit longer but we didn't mind. Also recently found out about the additional seating in a separate room! When heading towards the water counter, continue down left out the door into the alley and the second seating area will be through one of the doors on the right. In fact I ran into the Not Leaving Las Vegas blogger walking to PublicUs and he said it's pretty dangerous around there. Plus you can sense it yourself. Anyway, PublicUs is great. It has a ton of tasty bakery items and a decent set of coffee drinks (good baristas). Moreover, they serve delicious chef prepared meals as well. Highly recommending the breakfast sandwich. Thanks to the locals and Reddit, my friends and I made sure to visit PublicUs, and this place is a gem in Las Vegas. It is located in the Freemont area, with a parking lot. You can get validated for your parking, or it will be $2 an hour.  The interior of the restaurant is a cute canteen-style vibe, and lots of love is given to actor Keanu Reeves. I love how cozy the atmosphere is. They have an eye for interior design from the shelves/walls to the benches and trees where you can sit to eat...all that is lovely and creates a warm energy.  Let's talk about the food! Everything that my friends and I ordered here was great. This place went beyond our expectations and we were quite blown away by the things we tried. With that being said, we highly recommend the following: * The Garden Farm Benedict- perfect egg benedicts on an avocado toast with spinach and other roasted veggies and potatoes. This was perfect, especially for this girl who loves her eggs benedict * The Waffles for the People- a unique texture that reminds me of a mochi waffle. Add the berries. This was delicious with their whipped cream and maple syrup  * Pastries: I feel like you can't go wrong with anything here! Their blueberry cream cheese scone, the Malasada with fresh fruit preserves were an authentic treat and seemed to be baked to perfection without being overly sweet.  * Coffee- I recommend their Death Cream, which is like a creamier version of a Vietnamese Coffee. Their hot vanilla latte was pretty good too.  At the counter that day, the customer service was mediocre. However, during our meal, there was a gentleman (he had long, braided, white hair, a white beard, and looks like he could be from the cast of Sons of Anarchy) who came out to ask about our meals, made time to talk to us, and offered my nephew an Easter Egg. That was a very nice touch, and made this visit even the more welcoming. I believe this gentleman might be one of the owners, since he carried an Easter egg basket around to pass these treats out to little kids. That was very sweet, and he genuinely seemed to want everyone to have a great experience here.  I imagine it can get super busy during the weekend, so keep that in mind. You order food at the counter and then you're given a number. Walls are decorated with a unique vinyl toy collection, there's trees by the interior open space seating areas, and and a variety of fresh pastries on display before you get to the front of the line. You order first and find a seat. Service is great and staff is both patient in explaining and knowledgeable about the drinks on their menu. Food is on point. Breakfast burrito is packed with flavor and texture without needing extra salsa, the musubis look simple but are savory, and the specialty drinks are well made. PublicUs impressed me all around with great coffee, excellent service, and delicious food. What a huge, creative menu too! My friend and I were looking for a lunch spot after visiting The Natural History Museum and she suggested coming here. I'm sure glad she did. We found free parking on the street near the entrance. An employee told me that next time I could park in the lot next to them and they validate. Parking was easier than I expected in this area. The shop is pretty big inside with lots of seating inside and a few tables outside. They were packed at lunch, but we managed to find a table for five. The service here was friendly and very helpful. When our food was delivered they were on top of making sure we had everything. I asked about silverware and the employee insisted on grabbing it for me when he saw I was feeding my baby. They also made sure to offer the info about parking validation for next time. The first coffee I ordered was a Flat White. So delicious! I loved the bold flavor of their coffee. I loved it so much that I grabbed an Iced Shaken Almond Milk Latte for the road. This was also very good. I ordered the Piri Piri Chicken Sandwich and the PublicUs BATL Born Sandwich. I would definitely order one for my toddler and I to share next time because the portions were very generous. Both sandwiches had very fresh tasting breads, meats, and vegetables. I loved that the Piri Piri Chicken had juicy, grilled chicken breasts. The house made chips were delicious with just the right amount of salt. The salad was perfectly dressed with a really tasty dressing. Wow, I can't believe this fresh lunch was only $14 per sandwich (with sides)! Such a cute versatile spot right in DTLV! My manager took me here for lunch and it was so great. It's a lively space with a great lunch scene but also duals as a nice study spot. With ample seating, you shouldn't have to worry about finding a table. The way it works here is you get in line, order your food and beverage, they give you a number, then you find a table. When your order is ready, they bring it out to you. Simple enough! I ordered the Bang Bang Chicken bento box per my manager's recommendation and absolutely loved it. I'm a huge fan of bento boxes in general because you get so many little sides, but my favorite thing about this one was actually just the chicken itself. Cute place with lots of coffee, food, and pastry options. Came on a Saturday morning around 10a and there was already a long line. The food came fairly quickly. Much quicker than the pour over coffee. The sandwich was good especially if you like runny eggs. The pour over was served with a small pot which was nice! The vibes here are immaculate. Came here on a Wednesday morning and it was busy but not overpacked. I loved the casual setting of the place where you get to order your food up front and choose where you want to sit afterward. The inside mimics an outdoor ambiance with picnic-style seating and glass windows that let the sun shine through which was lovely considering it was a beautiful day. Loved the rustic, modern vibes! Everything on the menu looks appealing. From the food, the drinks, to even the pastries-- it was almost impossible to choose. I loved that they offer a lot of vegetarian-friendly options as well. Salmon Togarashi Bento (9/10) - Super satiating and balanced. The salmon was cooked well and the mac salad was super delicious and not too heavy. I loved the pickled veggies they had as well as the lightly dressed salad. If I lived in Vegas I would definitely stop by again! The service was also phenomenal. They were super friendly and communicative. Cole at the cash register was super helpful :). If I could give this place six stars I absolutely would because I can't say enough good things about my experience here. read more

A unique community vibe. Parking was easy on the street across from the restaurant, the line is intimidating but it moves relatively quickly and gives you time to gander on the menu. Please be courteous and do not find a table until AFTER you place your order and have a number or you may mess up the flow. The food choices range a variety of corners around the world and provide plenty flavorful options. The portion sizes are pretty large so be prepared to take some home (especially the bento boxes). read more

The sign says "oatmeal chocolate chunk cookie", doesn't say anything about raisins. I took it back to say I think I was given the wrong cookie as I ordered chocolate chunk oatmeal not raisin and instead of apologizing and offering alternative the worker just said "that IS the chocolate chunk oatmeal cookie". Change the sign then so customers are informed prior to ordering if you don't want to correct it after they already paid :) read more
