Very good food and nice location! Pizza is good and the salads. Little pricey for some food but not bad for overall night out of two people!

The service was good. We were on the patio so there was a traffic noise which made it hard for our waitress to hear our order. I ordered a dry martini but got a dirty one instead. I did return it and eventually got what I ordered. Food was okay Crab dip was meh. Salad was good but a few pieces of lettuce were past their prime. Eggplant Parm was okay, their Marinara sauce was pretty bland. Shrimp scampi was just okay, lacking in flavor. It was obvious our waitress didn't know anything about mixed drinks. The restaurant needs to do better with training. We were just in town for one night but I wouldn't go back if we pass through again. read more

Stayed close by and found this place for a group dinner. They handle our large party perfectly, service was excellent all night. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal and I was more than satisfied with mine. Shared the crab dip for an appetizer and it was pretty tasty. My half wedge salad was huge, simple but very good. Ordered the chicken parm for my entree and it was a large portion. A huge fried, cheese topped chicken breast served with linguine & Bolognese sauce filled with meat. A restaurant with history and okay food. Parking can be difficult if you want to park at the front. It is tight but if you don't mind walking an extra 200 feet then that isn't bad. This is an old house with a restaurant on the main floor and the basement. We didn't hit the basement on this trip. The atmosphere could be improved a little more. As for the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. As it was lunch, I tried the Puccini Paninno and my wife had the Haddock. We each got onion rings. The rings weren't bad, though my wife thought were a little greasy. The haddock was okay and my wife rated it a 6/10 on her scale which is close to what I feel about my sandwich. The Panino was supposed to have Genoa salami, capicola ham, and pepperoni, but I honestly noticed only one meat which was the capicola. We were left with an "eh" feeling about the meal. If we travel on I68 and need a lunch sometime we may stop for the pizza. Naturally, I'll have to try the Margharita pizza to test their pizza abilities. Wood fired brick ovens, if done right, should produce great pizza. read more

I get it...it's one of the few restaurants of its kind in the area. But I felt the negatives outweighed the positives. Positives first: 1) We had a great server and the hostess staff seemed fairly accommodating; 2) We were told most of what we ordered was made in-house from scratch (ex., marinara sauce, balsamic vinaigrette); 3) Restaurant is housed in a historic building, which was both a positive and a negative. Negatives IMHO: 1) While the restaurant was very accessible from the highway, parking was a bit of a nightmare; 2) The seating both inside and out was kind of funky and disjointed; 3) I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and while the marinara sauce may have been homemade, I felt it lacked flavor. Not many places to visit in Cumberland, but this is a must go! I recommend calling ahead to make reservations. There are two parking lots, one below the restaurant and one in front. The front one is a little smaller as a lot of the hotel guests park there. You can sit outside or inside but I recommend outside. It is an Italian restaurant and their food was very good. I went for the pizza and ordered the margarita based on the pictures. I have to say mine was very undercooked and still doughy. I was very disappointed. I did try the pepperoni pizza and that one was a winner. Definitely try the pizza which you can get in a personal size. Their Mozz sticks were also delicious and hot / fresh. Lots of menu options, hard to decide. If you're someone who normally skips dessert, don't here! Their deserts are made out of house, a separate bakery makes them. That was the best red velvet cake I've ever had in my life. The service was on the slower side, so it was better for us to order as much as possible when we had our server. Don't Bother To begin with, we were seated in a timely manner. Next to the restroom (could see empty tables across the room) which should be last resort. And our server was barely pleasant. The meal: I love calamari. Order it whenever it's on the menu. This was the worst. The clue: oh your orders of calamari will be a few minutes more. The cook has to fetch another bag from the freezer! (Oh no! An Italian restaurant and you don't prepare/cook your own???) They were terrible. The batter/breading used had waaaaay too much cornmeal and result was gritty and way too crunchy (slightly over cooked). I ordered a Chicago wood fired pizza...supposedly wood fired pizza is their specialty. By the time it got to the table it was barely warm. Will not return. read more

Dining COVID-style in phase of reopening - respect to all the staff doing their job under those circumstances- Thank you all. We called ahead to make sure they are open and they will have space. Nice big patio, no issues for keeping social distance. You can get the menu in paper or online with a QR code. Still I need to get used to drinking the wine out of plastic cups ;-). Saturday night. One and a half hour wait for food after we ordered. Ordered the zucchini fries...very greasy and mostly batter...but tasty...would not order again. I ordered the chicken Marsala...very mid and they gave me the wrong pasta on my order...couldn't finish because the chicken was undercooked (I would recommend that they hammer it flat in the traditional method for more even cooking). My wife's chicken Alfredo was decent. Also ordered pizza to go when they delivered our entrees. They got the pizza order wrong and had to remake it. I will say that the best thing in the menu is the wood fired pizza...I should have gone only with that to begin with. The waitress was over worked...the kitchen was ridiculously behind. We left a 20% tip for her ($14) in spite of our experience. They actually charged us $3.46 for a Togo box for our pizza...and a $2.26 for using a credit card on a $68 meal. In the future, I will only get the pizza to go. read more

We were headed out past Frostburg for a few days away and planned when we were leaving the DC area around being able to stop at Puccini and get a late lunch early dinner and be able to take leftovers for later in the evening. Every time we head west of Cumberland, we make a point to atop at this hidden gem. And as for Covid protocols, they did a great job to make us feel comfortable. Plenty of distanced outdoor seating, head sanitizer, sanitized tables, and a new outdoor bathroom so you don't have to go inside. A place to eat with history! If you enjoy stepping back into history while you dine, I suggest stopping here. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We originally started outside, but due to the breeze I needed to move inside for my grandmother and they accommodated without a problem. Our server was friendly and ensured we were enjoying our experience. She also recommended a few upgrades to our meal, which were great! We got the crab dip with cheesy bread, which I highly recommend! We all really enjoyed it and my grandmother is still speaking about how good it was. The crab soup was also very good, creamy and filled with crab. My entree was pretty good, but definitely wasn't a highlight. When we return I'll definitely be sticking to their pizzas and anything that comes out of that brick oven, because our appetizer was simply phenomenal and came out of there. I really hate to say it, but the pizza here reminded me of a lunchable. Don't get me wrong, I love to reminisce about lunchable pizzas, but I do not want to pay ten bucks to eat one. We ordered two for the table, - the five cheese and the one with goat cheese. The five cheese is what reminded me of the lunchable, there was nothing special at all about this pizza and did not feel like there were five cheeses on it. The one with goat cheese was a little better, but still just felt like I was eating a soft tortilla with toppings. Sorry, Cumberland, I am not a fan of this style of pizza! My husband and I shared the chicken parm and thought it was really good, chicken was fried nicely. My friend got the alfredo, which she thought was under seasoned and her husband got the porcini ravioli, which he loved. We all agreed that the place is a littttlleee pricey. Our chicken parm was $18 and had just a few noodles and one piece of chicken. I really liked the house balsamic on my side salad, my friend liked the italian dressing on hers and both of the guys got cream of crab soup and they enjoyed it. The best part about this place is the atmosphere. If you are in town, I totally recommend checking it out because it has so much history. Location is very interesting: a historic house, with lots of parking. Outside dining is a plus, but it's just next to the highway, so trucks using their jake-brake can make it a bit loud. Food was inconsistent. One pizza was good, another was way undercooked. If you order pizza, definitely make sure to ask them to properly cook it. I checked other reviews to see if my experience was an outlier, and it looks like undercooking the wood fired pizza is pretty common. Still, there aren't many good italian restaurants in Cumberland, especially for lunch (Ristorante Ottaviani is only open for dinner), so this may be the best option. read more
