My wife and I are expecting a baby in less than a month, and our propane tank ran out. We called for them to refill it, and specifically said that nobody will be home until 3pm. The driver has showed up multiple times when nobody is home. So we called again and they said Monday the driver will show up. My wife took Monday off waiting all day for them to show up and nobody came. It's been two weeks now and still nothing. read more

I recently purchased an old house with an oil furnace. After checking the oil level in the tank in the garage I decided to call around and just happenened to call them to refill the tank. Turns out they used to service this residence for the previous owner as there is a sticker on the tank I hadn't noticed. They came out right away and filled the tank. Both the lady in the office that took my call and the guy driving the tanker truck and filled the tank were super friendly, courteous and proffesional. No wonder why the previous owner used their services. I'm now a customer for life too. read more

Very responsive. Have ordered oil delivery twice from them and they are thorough, fast, and have done it without me even being home. Not sure if prices are competitive since I don't think there are many services like this. I will keep using them. I only use them as needed. read more

It's hard to choose things like an oil company...I mean, what are you really looking for? Cost, responsiveness, professionalism, appreciation of your patronage.... and, not least of all: honesty. When I call, I can ask about the price trends and get an honest answer...over 10 years of patronage bears that out. Volume discounts when you buy over a certain amount. They also give good recommendations if you need repairs or maintenance. Lindsay, who frequently helps me, is amazing. Ask for him if you have any questions. Highly Recommended. read more

I was on the auto refill program (in theory they would fill my tank, bill my credit card and place the receipt in my mail slot). Unfortunately, I ran out of fuel about 4 times (across the past 4 years). Initially when I ran out they would come out promptly and refill it. I understand things happen, but I appreciated their promptness in getting it back and going. This last time was ran out was a horrible experience. We ran out on December 31st. I called and was forwarded to Lindsey's voicemail, the owner. He never returned my calls. (I let him know we were on auto refill and that I have a baby). On the 1st we had to cancel a gathering at our home because it was so cold, that night we stayed in a hotel with a newborn. My home has single pane windows and tall ceilings and a small space heater doesn't get it warm enough). On the 2nd I called again and spoke with Jessica. She seemed aware I left messages and said a driver would be out there shortly (this was about 10am), I called back at 12 and she said it would be about an hour. At 3:11 the driver arrived. He was nice & finally we had fuel. I sent an email to Lindsey (listed on website) explaining the situation and asking questions (when was my tank last filled? What would be done to ensure this doesn't happen in the future, etc). I never got a response. So today (Jan 6th) I called to see if he's out of the office or personal emergency, etc. I spoke with Nichole who through the course of the conversation was unprofessional and tried acting like I was an unreasonable customer. She said her dad wouldn't be contacting me back by email or phone...he's too busy and doesn't do that. She recommend I go with another company if I want something different. She said she couldn't answer any of my questions and transferred me to a woman in auto fill who also treated me with disrespect and said I'd be better with Star & Ice. So I've enrolled with Star & Ice. The women on the phone said she's heard similar stories. read more

I had Puget Sound Petroleum service are tank by filling the heating oil on October 4th. They broke the gauge on it, did not tell us, ensuring water to spill into the tank during the rainy period over the last couple weeks. My heater shut off, and I suspected water. I used to have space heaters but they all have outlived their time. Since the weather is dropping in temperature, and I live in a non-insulated brick house, heat is important. Very important. I called their toll-free number and Kristen answered the phone. She said no one worked in Sundays. I asked if she could see what she could do so I could schedule something and get it fixed. She said she would call me back. Hour passed, she did not, and refused to answer both my phone calls AND my dad's, who is the main owner of the house. I requested them to call me back, or answer my calls or I would have to leave a review. They never called me. My dad, however, got ahold of an older male employee who claims to run the company and serviced our tank. His name is Lindsay. Apparently, Kristen the phone service representative is the daughter of Lindsay and he told my dad he was upset because I was "rude to his daughter". After my dad has to CONVINCE Lindsay to come repair the gauge he broke and check the tank for oil, he shows up. While replacing the gauge, Lindsay tells me the SUN broke the gauge, not him. I asked, "Well, it didn't break until you serviced it. Either way why wouldn't you tell us about it so we can have you replace it?" And he laughed in my face. Then said, "Everyone had a broken gauge. No one wants to pay $20 for it." (Despite our heating bill bejng $630?) I said, "We would have." He laughed in my face again. I said, "It's not really professional to laugh at your customers." He said, "Yeah? Well you were rude to my daughter. Why am I even trying help you?"--and reached to try and remove the new gauge. I said, "So you won't do your job either?" He bickered and claimed there is "NO way water got into the tank from the 'tiny gauge hole'," when he checked, he admitted there was TWO inches! Then he claimed it wasn't from him and said the water must have gotten in over the last couple years, and that it would cost a TON to "flush" the "entire system". (Also, if the water did get in the tank over 2 years, the water would have evaporated by now, because the tank has been empty and covered for the last two 90° summers until now.) Lindsay made so many excuses for himself and his daughter Kristen not doing her job, I had him leave. We will NOT return. Ever. I went to Left Coast instead who drained the water from the tank for less than $300 and left me with great customer service and a pleasant experience. Left Coast services heating oil all over Washington and Oregon so I recommend them for anyone looking for a great place in the PNW for heating oil! They are also extremely environmentally conscience so even more reason. Thank you. read more

Yesterday I noticed a $664 charge on my debit card from puget sound petroleum. I used them last October, paid my $504 for 150 gallons, so what was this new charge? PSP says, whoops we charged the wrong customer! Apparently I share the same last name, and that is all it took for PSP to mess up my life. This all happened because PSP has my credit card number, and now I am out $664 until the credit comes through, that can take up to 5 business days. Through no fault of my own, well, I can you can argue that it was my fault since I was stupid enough to use PSP in the first place, allowing them to store my credit card info. My mortgage payment was returned due to this, affecting my credit, I can only imagine what that will cost me. I have to get a new debit and credit cards, just to assure the PSP cannot do this again. Best prices and service!!! I live in Buckley wa. I had shinder petroleum out they would not fill my tank even though they charged me before the visit. The man who was supposed to fill my tank said he would not fill it because he thought my tank would flip if filled. That was on Tuesday today same tank same situation they filled it no problem and charged at time of service! ! Great company great customer service!!! Absolutely very unprofessional people. They do not own up to there decisions. Customer service is horrendous. Sue is the manager and she actually questioned my wife about my pay periods! She did not want to bill me because she accused my wife of lying about when I get paid! They promised me after I paid my first bill in cash, they can start billing my account. When I called to refill my oil they mentioned to me that they never said that. All they kept asking for is my credit card info. I told sue that I have kids and they're freezing cold and I will have a check ready for them and then she said she won't take my check and said that was her new policy. Such heartless people. Do not use these people. Very heartless and make up there own last second policies. Star ice and fuel is a lot cheaper and friendlier. They don't even deserve one damn star!! read more

Ive been using these guys for a long time there very nice and quick too deliver your oil i get a senior discount to me most people give you a ten percent discount I've never paid attention but happen to ask what there discount was i was shocked they only give you two cents to the gallon i ordered two hundred gallons which cost me 613dollar so my calculation i only got four dollars offi didn't know if i should cry out laugh most seniors are on a fixed income or don't make that much money so four dollars is really like giving you nothing im not blaming the wonderful people that works there but i just have to say who ever made this rule should be ashamed of themselves!that's the only reason i gave three stars. read more

Absolutely unreliable. I scheduled them to come fill the oil tank in my new home and they billed my credit card $650. My furnace still wasn't working, so I paid to have a repairman come out and look at it. He discovered that my tank was bone dry. This is pure highway robbery. These people bank on the fact that most people don't have a guage on their tank and trust that the driver fills it when he says he does, and fills it as much as he says he does. When I called, they tried to say that the driver couldn't get in through the gate (even though they assured me that he'd find a way to reach it) and that "they'd been trying to call me." No missed calls, no voice mails, no refund. Sounds suspicious. At a minimum, they cost me a repair bill and an extra week without heat in a home with 3 small children, and didn't seem to think it was a big deal. Terrible. read more
