I have reached out to this company and requested delivery to my store three times. Every single time I have called they stated they would deliver and commit but after 3-5 TIMES, they still have not and continue to delay it. We are first time customers and are now going to find a different company to provide us a service that is long overdue now. It is now the end of Saturday and they stated that the delivery will for sure happen on Friday or Saturday. Definitely investing and working with a different company now. read more

After speaking with them about starting service, they informed me that I needed to prep an area to dedicate an outside ice chest. Once that I completed there request, they would not return my calls or emails for weeks. Once they did they spoke to one of my employees and said that they would not service my area. This is a hidden gem for cheap propane fuel. I've been spending almost over $18 to switch out my 40lb tank for my grill twice a summer at Lowe's...No More. On this particular day, I called them to find out how much it cost to refill my tank. Get this...$12.95 plus tax. Well well well...isn't that just dandy. This is my 'go to' place for my refills now. You pay inside the office first, then they have someone come fill the tank for you. They won't allow you to do it yourself which is fine by me. I don't like messing with gas much anyway. End cost was $13 dollars and change for a fill. Savings is just over $5 which is a no brainer. Location is in Federal Way heading towards Tacoma down HWY 99 on the left before you get to the 70th street signal. If you've reached the RV place, you're way too far. You can't miss the building up a little on a small hill but you could possibly miss the road you need to turn in. I did and had to turn around and I have passed this place hundreds of times. Get your propane here if you live within a few miles. It's worth the savings. read more

We used Star Ice & Fuel for 50 years. They were great but the new owners have a lot of problems. The last time I tried to get oil, they lost the order. I then ran out of oil. It took 3 days to get oil and they would not restart the furnace. I found someone who said the furnace would be started an they would wave the $45. The fuel was delivered and the furnace was not started. It would have taken 3 minutes max. My son got on line and figured out how to get me heat. read more

It takes a lot for me to write a poor review because I am a business owner myself but here goes. I have been a customer of theirs for years and I have had off and on trouble with timely deliveries of ice. This time it's to the point I am ordering from a dif company. They are three weeks late on my delivery and still can not even give me an estimated day that I will get ice. To top it off, every time I politely call and ask I am treated poorly. The last girl said..."can't you just go to the store and buy some ice!" I run an espresso stand and we go through 20 bags a day. So NO I can't just go buy a bag of ice. So sad. read more

DO NOT BUY PROPANE FROM STAR ICE & FUEL!! Depending on your situation you will either throw away your money, or waste your money and endanger your life. Option 1: You have a used propane cylinder for your barbeque or RV or boat. DO NOT GO TO STAR! They will charge you a flat rate to refill the cylinder which is 4 times the market rate for propane even if the cylinder is completely empty! If the cylinder is not empty you will be paying even more for the propane they provide. If you have a used cylinder, take it to a service station or any place that sells propane by the gallon. Always pay by the gallon! Buying propane at Star is a total rip-off, a waste of your time to go there and the money you pay them. Option 2: You have a new propane cylinder. DO NOT GO TO STAR! I called Star and asked if they had the proper equipment to purge the air out of a new cylinder before filling it and was told they do. I arrived, paid their ridiculous flat fee, and was served by a man who knew absolutely nothing about how to purge a cylinder. [NPGA Safety Bulletin 133-89(a) describes the process and the reasons for doing it. (Google it!)] This unprofessional person simply pumped liquid propane into the cylinder, compressing the air inside without removing it. The cylinder filled to less than 80% of its stated capacity because of the air inside. Now I have a cylinder that will deliver a mixture of air and propane when in use, so the heat from burning the propane will be much less than it should be and the tank will be "empty" (except for the air) much more quickly. Do not use Star Ice & Fuel to fill propane cylinders! Their people do not know what they are doing and their prices are much higher (300%+ higher) than what you will pay elsewhere. For your safety and for the sake of economy, DO NOT BUY PROPANE FROM STAR!! read more

We just moved into a home that has a radiator and needed oil for the broiler. We had no idea how much we might need they said that was fine that they can tell when they get there . We asked when they would be by and waited in that 2 hour window. We didn't know if we paid on delivery or if it was a billing thing like utilities.we also wanted to see how it was done just b/c we are curious:) We waited and no one came and left 30 minutes later. this was a week ago. They came by later that day filled up the tank and left us a receipt .They called us later to tell us it was COD and that we could send a check. No mention of alternative options were given or told to us when we initially called to set it up. We sent a check 3 days later ( we JUST moved in) they have now called us 2 times in the last 2 days. Asking about this check like we are criminals. Really? Sorry I'm not the post office. I mean seriously its been less than a week since they were here! Lady was VERY RUDE, like I had purposefully stolen something from them. Was I supposed to wait around all day for them? If its cash on delivery maybe you should be on time? These folks are very helpful and they have very reasonable prices. Our oil tank decided to spring a leak after being filled, and the oil began to run across the basement floor. Boy ! what a mess !! These dear folks offered to come and pump out the tank, for free, and after that, they refunded our purchase price. We really appreciate their generous help and concern, and we intend to continue doing business with them just as soon as our new tank is installed. I'm glad we had cat litter on hand. Just ordered oil for our furnace a few days ago. Other than being several hours late, everything went well. And being the time of year, I'm sure they were very busy. I called just to get an update on eta and I assume the man that answered was the owner, said "we will not stop until every order has been delivered." We had been gone three weeks and came home to one of the worst heat waves I've seen in the NW, and I was born here almost 50 yrs ago. As the heat had been high for awhile already, cooling devices were all bought up so we decided on two DIY cooler. We purchased the bucket and pipes and headed to Star for ice. Our preference was block ice but their machine had been down for a few days so we got big bags. When we were getting ready to leave the woman stopped us to offer us the first two blocks off the repaired machine. With the heat we've seen, those blocks have lasted longer and we appreciate her help. We'll be heading back to them today for more! read more
