My daughter stepped on a broken piece of glass in one of the jumpers and could not enjoy her brother's birthday party because she could not walk. After the party, I called to speak with the owner to report the incident, and he could not care less about my daughter. He never asked how she was doing, never apologized for the incident and kept questioning me about whether it was really glass or a sharp piece of plastic (as if that mattered). I will never book another event here, never attend another event here and would not recommend anyone I know book any events here. I am not looking for any handouts or refunds, but some compassion for my 9 year old who was genuinely in pain and could not walk. read more

I have been to probably 10 birthday parties at this location and it has consistently gotten dirtier and less maintained each time. I'd like to start by saying that I am far from a germaphobe- I don't mind if my kids get dirty, but if you run a business where hundreds of kids come through each day, you should maintain it better. Adults...have you gone onto their equipment and seen the frayed and ducktaped up handles, patched bouncers, and tiny holes that blow air on you? The kids don't seem to mind and they have a blast, but the past 3 parties I have noticed the uncleaniness (visible dirt all over the carpets, and dirty bathrooms), and worn equipment. I think the concept is great and efficient, they keep the kids busy, but it is in SORE need of a deep clean and replaced bouncers. read more

The staff is terrible, hosted my 8th sons party here cause i heard good reviews and had went to the Torrance one many times. However, the customer service alone downplayed my entire experience. We had this indian looking staff member named melakow who was awful. My husband and I went into the parking lot to unload more stuff into the party and he didnt let us bring it in! Apparently there is an additional fee if you want to bring food inside your OWN party... Despite that, the boy was smoking during his shift taking out the trash!! Also, this is pump it up Van Nuys so its not mistaken for the one in torrence. The owner is not so friendly either... Would recommend the drive to Torrance to avoid the staff. read more

We attended a kid birthday party here last week. It was ok. The kids had fun most of the time but the whole event felt really unfocused and disorganized. Parking was a total nightmare - the lot has narrow spaces and it was packed full. Several of the guests came in harried because they had to drive around the area to find parking, and it's not the best neighborhood. We were in the first room for a bit, then moved into the 2nd. During that time I only saw an employee for about10 minutes, and that was in the 2nd room taking photos. When someone had a question or something happened, employees were nowhere to be found. The party hosts (parents) looked like they were so frazzled almost the entire time trying to answer guest questions and attend to things. At the end we went into a third room for pizza and cake, and the pizza was awful. I didn't look at the boxes to see where they were from, but wherever it is makes horrible cardboard pizza. Finally, the host sent us a link and code to look at photos from the party. WOW. The camera the employee was using looked ancient, and the photos are just horrible. Out of focus, not framed well, poorly lit. Every photo I took with my iPhone (even the throwaway ones) looks better. I hope no one paid for those. My kid had fun, but after having been to a gazillion parties in these kinds of places I don't think this is the best one in town. read more

It was our first time here and we experienced a very rude and forceful pressure from the manager/owner to sign up as soon as we entered the premise, not giving us chance to read what we are supposed to sign. My son had his birthday party here on Memorial Day and it was absolutely amazing! He said best birthday ever!!!! The staff was very attentive, the owner was incredidible accomadating. Went to a birthday party here last weekend. After the less than cordial greeting and release forms to sign, we were sent down the hall to where our party was located. They had several REALLY BIG jumpers/slides/obstacles courses set up for the kids (and adults) to play on. After 20 or 30 minutes, we were ushered into the next room where they had another set of inflatables. Interesting system to keep the parties moving and likely allows them to hold more events on a given day while at the same time changing up the inflatables for the guests. I have to share that one of the inflatables was a peak of sorts where one tries to place a velcro flag as high up as possible. wearing socks, its next to impossible to jump, so the dads resorted to tossing their kids as high as they could. It was our Wolf of Wall Street moment and the kids had a blast! After the 20-30 minutes in the second room, we were moved to the dining room where pizza and cake were served. I believe the host family had to bring in their own food, although i have no idea if the venue caters. it was a fun morning, but i'm deducting points for the less than stellar staff and the dripping ceilings - apparently it was the first time it rained since the place had been open so management didn't know there were leaks. read more

We had my grandson's birthday here and to my surprise it was absolutely the best experience in fun for the kids and the adults. Our guest enjoyed themselves and we booked for two hours and it felt like 6 hours of fun. The staff was helpful, they knew how to keep the party flowing and I enjoyed my self because the staff took care of everything for us. One of the rooms did not have A/C blowing enough so it was a bit hot but who cares the kids enjoyed them selves, maybe our next booking the A/C will be working. As far as food you are only allowed two dishes to bring fruit or salad and at first I was not to happy about it but when the time came to eat I could see why they do that because of the counter space where they serve the food and with the time limit it works out fine because everyone enjoyed what was served. Papa John wings and pizza and subway sandwiches were what we could order and it was fine. I see reviews that the equipment was run down and it is not true, everything look fine considering kids bouncing all over them. The main thing was the kids enjoying all the fun. Our guest were impressed and believe me the kids were tired and ready to go home with happy faces...We will be back again. read more

We recently had my son's birthday party here and I have to say it was very organized and the staff was extremely helpful. While some may have thought that having the party first thing on a Saturday morning was rough I found that it was beneficial for a few reasons - Parking was no issue, the staff was awake and not exhausted yes from all the parties that take place in a day, and the place was extremely clean. Sonya and Alvin were assigned to help with our party and were amazing. They helped with everything and where on point during the whole party. What a great concept - my twins went to a birthday party here and bounced and slid. Apparently, they have three rooms full of bouncy houses, though we only stayed in one. It got better. They turned off the lights and everything glowed (under the black light). Even better. Adults can jump along with their kids, and this made me think someday to have an adult jumping party. Then 45 minutes to eat in a side room with pizza provided by the venue. I'll give them an extra star if having our own party there (and dealing with their staff directly) is as fun as going to someone else's party. On average, renting kids bday venues cost 400-500 dollars in the LA area. It's a lot of money and I wish the LA market didn't drive this up so much. read more

We had my son's 5th birthday at Pump It Up (after having attended several parties there previously). He had the time of his life and so did his friends. The party was incredibly organized and the party coordinators were very helpful. The inflatables were so much fun! My friend had a party at Scooter's Jungle and was very stressed out about how strict they are about the maximum number of guests (here, there is no maximum, you just need to pay more). A few tips, have the staff order the pizza for the kids cut into 24 slices instead of 12. Skip the sandwiches because they are so expensive. Go to Costco or the supermarket and get bags of chips, veggies and fruit, and water to supplement the pizza (you can bring that from the outside). We will seriously consider having my son's 6th birthday here. read more

Just had my daughter's 6th bday here this past Saturday and it was awesome! The staff is friendly, helpful and they seriously take care of everything! From transporting everything from our car to the party to making sure everyone was hydrated by passing out water bottles, there were on top of it. And the place is HUGE, each party room is way bigger than I thought with more than enough super fun bouncers/slides to please everyone even adults. We had guests ages 2 to 70 and everyone had fun. Now I'll be honest, I was worried about having a party that was only 2 hours long but it was the perfect amount of time. By the time you're in the second room and it's almost time for eats/cake the kids are wiped. Everything was super clean, well organized and again the staff was super helpful and always accommodating. Most of all my lil one had a blast as did her friends. I'd highly recommend this place for a stress free, super fun party. Lol, actually as we were leaving my friend booked her lil girls 7th bday party, that right there is a sign of a great party ;) LOVE: Private party time, it's just you, your guests and your two Pump It Up party assistants. Variety of jumpers & slides, from big to little they have it all. Parking, huge parking lot with plenty of parking. Friendly staff, courteous, helpful and great to work with. A few years back, we had a party here for my older son and we were very happy. This past weekend, we had my younger son's 5th birthday party here and we were very disappointed. The staff who were assigned to help us throughout our party were no where to be found. When we needed anything, it meant leaving the party to find someone to help us (most of the time, they were just sitting behind the desk, playing on their phones). When we went into the party room, it is was a total disappointment. No one came in even once to check on us or to see if the kids needed more food. They cut almost double the amount of cake needed and then ended up throwing away so much of it....what a waste of food and money! We were rushed out of the room and the party ended 15 minutes early. When we got home, you could tell the gifts were just thrown into a bag and many cards were lost because of their carelessness. I warn anyone heading there for a party that it is not what it used to be. The service is terrible and they simply do not seem to care. read more

The jumpers are super fun for kids ages 4-5 and older. We had my daughter's 6th birthday party there and it was great. However, the management was ridiculous to deal with ahead of time. They don't let you bring in any of your own food, which is weird for a party place. The sandwiches they ordered for us were super expensive and disgusting! And I had the hardest time even reaching someone over the phone to discuss the details. I called for 2-3 days, getting busy signals, a phone that just range and rang, or incompetent staff that said they'd call back in 20 minutes and never did. The day-off staff was ok, and the party turned out fine. They should take a cue from Scooter's Jungle and have a baby play area inside the play area rooms. read more

We just had my daughters 4th birthday there and it was a blast! Every guest told us that this was the funnest kids party they've ever been to. Love love love this place! The employees were so sweet and were available to us all through the party. They even took all our decorations and decorated for me. It was adorable. My only complaint is how strict they are on outside food and drinks. They say only 24 large 48mini waters. I had 25kids plus 50 adults. My guest were obviously very thirsty. It was quite embarrassing telling them to go to the vending machine. Also, you can only bring a fruit or vegetable tray. I had nowhere near enough food. You have the option of buying pizza from them which is ridiculously marked up. We will definitely do another party here and hope they change their food policy before then. The kids (and adults) really enjoyed the party and particularly that you get to go in two different rooms with different bouncers. I think one of the highlights was when they turned off the lights in the second room. It was very easy to book and organize the party. A little tip that no one mentioned was to bring your own tablecloths. Also, if you have any special requests, speak to the owner, he is very accommodating, friendly and nice. I hosted a double birthday party here and the kids had a blast. The attendants were very helpful; there was supervision throughout the party and they kept me in the loop with everything. Guests loved the glow room, including the parents. I agree with other reviewers who say an extra half hour (versus the 2 hrs. which includes the dining experience) would be ideal. Guests often times arrive late because - well, kids - and you only get 40 minutes in each of the large rooms. Bathrooms and the facility itself were clean enough but not as clean as Scooter's Jungle. However, their dining room is larger than the one at Scooter's. And yes, for some odd reason there were bankers boxes stored behind the jumpers in the glow room that the kids found. Overall, we had a good time and would throw another party here again. Tips: double check to ensure all your decorations are returned after the party (ours weren't and I would've loved to hang them in my kids' bedrooms), and remind them to turn on the AC because it gets hot. read more

Yesterday we attended our nephews birthday at this magical place. He turned 7! Everyone from his age and up to including adults enjoyed every second of this fun filled fantasy. There are two rooms that are rotated, each with many bouncies in different shape, width, and size. The second room is the same but it's glow in the dark. All the lights are turned off and only the special carpet, the neon sticks and rings that are provided is used to light up the place. It's incredible. Everyone and any age range can have a great time here. Def, coming back. Maybe to even celebrate my own birthday. read more

I didn't like the fact that when it was time to eat, the closed the place for the kids to play. I just feel like everything is rushed and the staff are like whatever's. Have gone for birthdays and for open play, my kids love it. Most recently went for what they call pop n play and it was great. They have two large rooms which are full of fun bouncy slides and games. My favorite part is that you start in one room and after an hour you go to the next one so the kids don't get bored. They also do a little time with the lights off and the place glows in the dark, very cool. As for parking, not only is there parking in front of the establishment but also around the back and on the street. I'm a big fan of Pump It Up! read more

This could very easily have been a 5-star review. We had a good time at my son's 7th birthday party this past Saturday at Pump It Up of Van Nuys. At the very end we were asked if we would like photos that their staff had taken during the fun. We were enjoying ourselves and entertaining guests and don't get as many photos as we would have liked, so we agreed to the $25 charge. A day or two later the photos were ready and we logged in to download them. It was like stepping back in time to the early 2000s when digital photos weren't as polished as they are today with modern camera phones. I should have known when I saw the staff using small palm-sized digital cameras to take the photos. Only about 20% were of our son and most were dark and/or blurred. We called and asked for a refund of the $25 but they refused. Because of that I'm deducting two stars and I'll be recommending other indoor inflatable party places in the future. You were so close to being great, Pump It Up! Too bad you fell short. read more
