Pupstars is the best. Not only are they professional and kind, our pup Arnie loses his mind whenever we ask him "Do you want to go to Pupstars today?!". He howls the entire time until we arrive and can't get away from us fast enough to go see his friends. We wouldn't consider sending him anywhere else. We used to use the transportation service, but now live in the area so we drive him ourselves. When we did use it, it was wonderful. They were timely and SAFE and always super respectful while in our home to pick Arnie up. They even went out of their way one time to come back and get our dog when our building experienced an emergency and the elevators were down so they could not get upstairs. Very happy I discovered PupStars. I adopted Zoey last year and when I brought her to a different pet care place to get her groomed she wouldn't stop shaking. When I picked her up from there she had a lot of cuts on her ears and still was shaking. After that experience I decided to change the groomer and took her to PopStars. We switched to PupStars a few months ago per our trainer's suggestion. Yesterday was our first time trying pick up and drop off. Our rescue has been very fearful of humans and pick up didn't go so well. But the PupStar team was super supportive and helped her with dropping her off. They are a dedicated team who genuinely care about your dog's wellbeing. Pebbles now attends twice a day instead of just once. She is making so many friends and it helps she comes home super tired from a day of fun... best part is that they have an outdoor and indoor area. PupStars is by far the best investment we have made into our French Bulldog, Otis. We took him to puppy school and had dog walkers while he was little and then some of his friends from our building began raving about PupStars. We decided to send him a few days a week in the winter of 2016 and haven't looked back since! Tara and her team are all SO wonderful with the dogs. Otis RUNS to the door each time they come to pick him up and based on photos, videos, SnapChats and Instagram posts, you can tell that a good time is had by all each day! I cannot stay enough good things about Pupstars. Tara and her team treat our dog, Penny, like one of their own children. She is always excited for daycare. Everyone is incredibly friendly to both humans and dogs. Furthermore, they are incredibly reliable and responsive to all our (many) needs. Due to our busy work schedules, we often have to adjust our daycare schedules at the last minute, and it is never a problem with them. Last, the value for what you get with Pupstars is fantastic. I've had some meh to outright horrendous experiences at boarding locations in Chicago. They ALL talk a good game about how much they value your business and how well they take care of your furbabies--they *rarely* deliver. I mean, they don't kill or maim your dogs but they flat out do not take care of your dogs like you would. And they charge too damn much. Not so, Pup Stars! Pup Stars was recommended by a dog park friend. I took a chance on them & I'm glad. They took AMAZING care of my dogs! My 2 Yorkies stayed for 3 days recently and it was a wonderful experience. The facility is well-cared for & well-managed. Very clean, no smell whatsoever. The dogs are housed in very comfortable accommodations and you can bring their bedding and toys. And the staff was really great. I immediately felt at ease when I left them, which is rare. It felt like I was dropping the dogs off with a trusted relative rather than inattentive & overwhelmed staffers that you find at many other locations in the city. They also posted lots of pics of my dogs playing and they were clearly having a ball! Pup Stars was also VERY understanding and accommodating to me when I had to pick the dogs up late as a result of airline issues out of my control. After some of the horrendous experiences I've had, I've been reluctant to leave the dogs anywhere. I appreciate Pup Stars for restoring my faith in dog day care & boarding facilities in Chicago. My first experience with Pupstars was boarding at their former location. And, honestly, proximity to my home was the primary factor in our selection. It only took that first experience to convince us and, more importantly, our puppy that this was the place for us--for boarding, grooming, daycare, products/supplies, etc. We have had the pleasure of working with the wonderful staff at Pupstars for more than three years now. Our River gets SO excited when he realizes that's where we're headed. In their new, awesome location there is so much room for the puppies to play and, again, I must commend the staff. Having been an employee from this facility in the past, I can vouch for the amazing care the entire staff has for both their four and two legged customers. While I did move on, I continue to bring my pups Riku, (standard schnauzer) and Ghost (Alaskan Malamute) for multiple of their services. Ghost loves to play with all the pups. Play groups are very carefully monitored so that play is safe for everyone. PupStars will always be my most trusted place for grooming my dogs. I simply wouldn't let any other groomer near my pups. I've taken them to Petsmart and a few other grooming places where I can really see they are not as detailed and patient with them. My dogs even feared going back to those locations. When we walk into PupStars however, my pups immediately run to Rosie the groomer. They love her, and having seen first hand how she works. I can say that she is one of the most patient and loving groomers I've ever met. She makes sure to take her time so the dog does not get stressed out (my schnauzer is an old diabetic pup who needs the extra tlc and time) every time, he looks amazing. I trust her to advice me in the best cut for my pups coat condition. Same goes for Ghost, who is no easy task to groom for anyone. His blow drying and brushing can be xtremely overwhelming to some people. I've gone to places where they do a half ass job and even leave him a little damp (which isn't healthy for his skin). Rosie takes her time hand drying every pet to make sure they are dry, clean and stress free. Most places leave the dogs in a crate with a fan in front hoping for the best. Makes me sad to only see bad reviews of bad grooms in when there are far more dogs and customers who absolutely love her work. So, as a pet care professional with two high groom demand dogs, I wanted to say that Rosie is awesome. I love her, my dogs love her, and she is an amazing part of the PupStars team who only provides the best service for their pets. read more

Just had to come on here and thank Pupstars again! There is no reason this small business should get anything under 5 stars. Seriously and if someone feels that way, Pupstars goes out of their way to resolve any and all issues. They have a wonderful team that does a great job taking care of our little monster Loki. Loki was found in the area and it has been a struggle to keep him in daycare locations due to his anxiety and high energy; however Pupstars has never given up on him. All the amazing staff members do their absolute best to work with him and to ensure he is safe and well taken care of. The manager and owner are patient, understanding and just absolutely wonderful. We love Pupstars. Loki gets a lot of playtime in, which helps with his appetite when he gets home and also helps him sleep through the entire night. No pacing or midnight spurts of energy to play. He is relaxed at home with minimal anxiety. We love the videos and pictures posted often and the fun pup events that take place here. The employees are so nice and knowledgable. I have a seriously anxious dog they suggested I start bringing to daycare to prepare him for when I need to board him for the longest I've left him. Every time I go to pick him up they tell me how his day was like he's a human kid. Their facility is clean and doesn't even smell like dog. And I love that they post pictures on Facebook during the day so I can see him interacting with the other dogs. I hate leaving my pup, but it's such a relief to know he's in the best hands. Update: I have to take a star away because my dog busted out of his cage there and is no longer welcome back due to safety/liability reasons. Totally understandable, but I spent a lot of money on daycare (per their suggestion) prepping him for my trip next month and now they won't take him. They do have walking/in home services, but it will cost me $120 more than I would've spent boarding him, so I'm a bit disappointed they didn't offer me a discounted rate since they won't let me bring him there anymore. read more

I was referred to Pup Stars by my cousin who could not say enough positive things about Tara and her crew. I took my young dog who was very shy and they were willing to give her a chance to learn and get comfortable. She now has fun when she goes and when I picked her up after boarding she looked happy. Seriously, it doesn't get better than Pupstars. Tara, Malik and the rest of the team treat Penny as though they are her own. The outdoor space is amazing, the kiddie pool is amazing and overall great. Penny comes home every day tired, happy and healthy. The team really does an excellent job of watching the dogs. They also make it easy too book, but if you're forgetful like me and forget to register your dog, they go to amazing lengths to help. I am so relaxed and confident knowing that Penny is in their care. And the cherry on top is the photos they post on Instagram. It's so fun to watch the dogs playing and happy! I only used this service once. Jabree came to my house for the meet & greet and was very nice. But the company overall seemed to be disorganized. I first emailed asking about a 30 minute home visit (dinner time & let the dog out) for a special occasion, and was asked to fill out the online form if I wanted to schedule it. I filled it out but never heard back about scheduling the meet & greet which needed to happen first. I followed up, and found out they didn't get it, maybe I didn't save it correctly or their system dropped it, not a big deal and I filled it out again. I didn't get any sort of confirmation about the visit so I called, I started to panic a bit because he sounded confused and didn't seem to see my name anywhere on the schedule at first (but did find it). I also wasn't told how/where/who to give payment so I asked about that. I gave the guy on the phone my cc#, but it was never charged and I got a call about my balance a few weeks later. I went in to pay and also picked up the keys since I don't need a regular walker and don't have any other occasions requiring a visit coming up. They require you give them two sets (smart) but weren't together and I was only handed one. It didn't take too long to find the other set but it just strikes me as odd because if I didn't ask I wouldn't have gotten the second set back. The keys are kept all in one cabinet, I don't understand why they don't keep the two sets together. I marked, tagged, and labeled each key, and made the two sets identical so it would be easy to tell they came from the same household. The walker left a nice note for me and I have no complaints about the service. I recently got an email about them moving soon, so maybe that's contributing to the disorganization. I may give them another try when they are moved and more settled in. Hopefully, it will be more organized and I will be sure to update this review. read more

Pupstars is the best. Clean and well-run facility. Fabulous staff. I've boarded my dog during business trips overnight. They've sent dog gear home with her for us to try when we were in need. We did the twice a week pick-up in Hyde Park and a walker once a week. They couldn't have made things easier. But most importantly, their staff LOVES dogs, and they take special care of your dog. Tara's combination of love for the dogs and professionalism really makes the place a standout. Here is the letter I just sent to Pupstars. I've had nothing but problems since my dog started coming here ranging from forgetting to put him in his crate when they drop him off to forgetting to pick him up at all on days that were scheduled. I was just informed today that they couldn't pick him up or drop him off for a few weeks due to vehicle issues...seriously? That's what you guys get paid for. Awful. Tara and her team really show a great deal of love, concern and care for the pets. We used other local firms too and none before Pup Stars showed the same attentiveness to our pets.
