Since then, I've visited a few times and have ordered a few different types of pupusas, all of which have been absolutely delicious. Each pupusa is freshly prepared and served with curtido (pickled cabbage slaw). Each pupusa is a pretty large size - I order two each time, and 1 1/2 in, I'm usually pretty full. Pupuseria Del Valle operates out of a food truck in Common Fields. Unlike some of the other food trucks there, you order directly at the food truck's window. After ordering, you receive a restaurant pager, so you can sit down and wait for your food. The wait time is usually between 10-15 minutes. I'd never gotten a chance to try a pupusa (only gorditas, which are somewhat similar) before eating them here. I'm so glad I tried them for the first time at Pupuseria Del Valle, because they are now one of my favorite foods!

I tried their bean and cheese, cheese, and pork papusas with curtido on a warm Saturday morning. While I'd ordered only two, one of the choices was accidentally given with my order. They brought out the correct one for free, so I ended up with three. The bean and cheese and cheese were my favorites. While I'm used to green curtido, the purple tasted as delicious! It had just the right amount of tang. The food was quite filling and I had to take a box to go. By the way, this is a food card with a secure location in a small food truck area located south of downtown, within walking distance of many shops. The two staff working were kind but there was some mild confusion when I placed the order, which was compensated for by them promptly making a correction to the order.

The inside has a good amount of seating and the decor is lively and very casual. Our waitress was kind and welcoming. You get complimentary chips & salsa. I also had the queso fundido to start. It was insanely creamy and decadent. I got the jalapeño and beans & cheese pupusas. For only 5.95 each they were pretty large. The pupusas themselves were cheesy, satisfying, and flavorful and paired great with the tangy, fresh slaw on top. I appreciated how they provide a huge container of slaw and delicious hot sauces.

However, I wish it was bigger considering they charged $16+. We very much enjoyed the bean and cheese pupusas that were fulfilling enough to have 1 for each person. We ordered 3 and the cabbage was enough for 2 people. I recommend ordering extra if your 3rd person wants some as well. The place appeared clean and the workers were kind. Despite the cashier accidentally charging more and the price of it being higher than other spots we have been to, I would say you pay for the quality of the food. Other items can be overcharged (i.e a small fountain drink was $7).

This is not the case of Sivar's.... I've been coming to this small hole in the wall, in a middle of a busy Central American mall, next to Super Mercado in Hillsboro and I am keeping it to my heart. There is this amazing strong woman who is an angel in the kitchen! I have been trying her pupusas since she opened her place.... amazingly delicious and honestly prepared, right there, in front of you. I have been drinking her Atol de Elote and I love it... no milk. Horchata is amazing, no milk, just rice cinnamon water sugar and morro fruit. I'm talking about Salvadoran horchata here, not the milk infused Mexican stuff. Please, don't get me wrong, the Mexican horchata is delicious but the milk, it kills me, especially the condensed milk. What else? Caldo de res, beef soup. Holly smokes! Do you want beef soup that you eat it with a spoon? No need to cut your beef with a knife, because the meat was so tender and deliciously blended. Her work team and her efforts are incredible; this is my secret spot when I want to eat like a human, no industrial food here!

Service was very friendly and personable. As I was there, a lot of regulars came in and were greeted warmly. Always a good sign. The complementary chips and salsa were just okay, but I did enjoy the refried beans they included. I went with the Combination Los Dos Hermanos, which features some Salvadoran dishes. It comes with a pupusa filled with shredded pork and cheese and a tamale filled with chicken. The pupusa is kind of like a tortilla packet. I found mine to be very delicious, with yummy pork and rich cheese. The tamale was good too. I loved the tangy cabbage salad that came with the main dishes, and the fried yucca root was super tasty too. The rice was okay, and the beans were good; I think they might have been red silk beans, but I am not sure about that. I was checked in on a few times, and it was a great lunch experience. I will keep this place in mind when I'm next in the area!

It made you feel like you were vacationing in South America. We both ordered the Pollo a la Crema. I don't recall seeing this dish on a menu before, but it was delicious! The chicken breast was cooked in a cream cheese style sauce that was seasoned perfectly. You have the option of flour or corn homemade tortillas. They were fabulous! Overall I really enjoyed my first visit. If I'm ever in the area again, this place would be first on my list. Highly recommend.

There is only one lady making the food so we wait for ten minutes. As we wait I watch the man who took our order give a homeless man the rest of his meal, a pupusa. The kindness of these people is not lost on me. This business seems to be family run. What they lack in drink selections, they really make up for in dishes at Pupusas Montalvo. There's only fountain drinks, which is fine, although I'm on a diet so I'll stick with soda water. I notice the lady is smiling and cracking jokes as she makes our food. This is also much appreciated. I ordered the bean and cheese pupusa plate with bacon and avocado. My wife ordered both pupusa, bean and cheese and pork. My plate came with pickled cabbage and jalapeño. The dish is served with salsa. As I bite into the pupusa I realize this was expertly made. Cheese leaked out of the bean and cheese pupusa as it cooked making bits of cheese super crispy. The pickled cabbage and salsa are the perfect pairing. I try a bite of my wife's pork pupusa and almost become jealous, although I am highly satisfied with my choice. I bet this is what pupusa taste like in heaven.
