Since all of our homes were built around the same time, I assumed my water heater was also 17 years old and might need replacement soon. After I sent photos of my water heater and the model details, Ti took the time to look up the serial/model number on the Bradford White website and discovered that my unit was actually only 11 years old, not 17 as I had thought. He texted me back and asked for clearer photos to confirm the manufacturing date. I called him right away, and even though I currently have no issues with my water heater, he generously spent time explaining everything in detail. He told me that Bradford White is a very reliable water heater and that this model generally does not require routine tank draining for maintenance. He also gave me valuable advice for the future, recommending that when I eventually replace the unit, I should install it on a metal drain pan with moisture detection for leak protection. I was genuinely impressed by his honesty, knowledge, and willingness to help without trying to sell me something I don't need right now. He could have easily pushed for a replacement, but instead he gave me thoughtful, professional advice and saved me unnecessary expense. I truly appreciate the time he spent helping me over the phone, and I would absolutely recommend Sutherland to anyone looking for an honest and knowledgeable professional.

HD was 20% less BUT only quoted…read morethe water heater and the install with the caveat that any addition items or work would be added on. I've worked with HD before, and have had no issue, so I think they are fine I have no beef with them. Fusion gave a detailed quote of all items to be replaced and the model of water heater. The quote included new water hoses (stainless steel) , new gas hose, new earthquake straps, the addition of an expansion tank (which I think is now required for code). Everything that the job needed was on the quote. Baring unforeseen issues (which happen) I knew exactly what the cost was going to be. Some of the items may have not absolutely needed replacement, but you don't want a $30 hose to ruin a $800 water heater (which is what happened to my last water heater and why we are here today). The solution provided was complete. HD may have had a less expensive quote, but it would have gone up, so I think in the end HD was not really a better price. Given the good reviews online and detailed quote at what I felt was a fair price, the job went to fusion. From inquiry to initial response was very quick, a couple of hours maybe. All communication was timely. Install date was set for three days after my inquiry. The day of the install they were a little late, but I got a text communicating that and an arrival time. I appreciated that very much. When they showed John introduced himself, very polite, nice guy. Then they went to work. They completed the job in a few hours. They left the work area clean and removed the old water heater. The install was beautiful, I know it's a water heater, but damn it was a clean install. Fusion gets five stars. There is no aspect of this job that I can suggest a need for improvement. Price: Five Stars, since the price was close to HD, I feel that I paid a fair price Communication: Five Stars, responsive and let me know they were running late Install: five stars, you can just tell that they paid attention to detail and did a clean job. I feel that I didn't pay a premium for that attention to detail. Attitude: five stars, John's a really nice guy Thank you Fusion, I really appreciate the quality of the job you did.

He also listened to my warranty situation with my particular unit and price break down if I were to go with another plumber qualified for the warranty service. I appreciated that he was upfront with me about everything and never tried to push me into replacing it through his company. He was very honest about what their price would be compared to going through my warranty and what if he would do if he were in my situation. I am extremely grateful for the honest work that this company does.

He said ge would not service it because it will only make it a couple of weeks. They charged me $89 anyways. I called and got a refund since they refused to service it. Nice that they refunded money for service they never performed. They gave me an estimate of over 10k to replace it. I called clean air act. They serviced it up and said it's still has a lot of life left. Now 2026 Chris is texting me wanting to service it on a special of $49. Why? So they can refuse to service it again? They only want to replace units not service them. Here is a picture how they left it last summer. Refused to clean it too. It is still running strong.

Most of my projects are not terribly difficult or complex. Mostly fix this, repair that, less than a day to complete type of projects, Frank's was not what I was looking for. Frank's is an actual company with a professionally done web site, multiple employees and a "can do" list that even the most competent sole proprietor handyman doesn't have. They are close by and will come out to look over the job and make a bid on it which for me is a big plus. So far, so good. Reasonably priced. Very responsive. Quality work.

The job itself was pretty challenging due to a very small space to even insert a properly sized wrench for the job. However Dmitri didn't give up and successfully managed to tighten the parts after applying sealant. Since it was still warm outside, we didn't use the heater until 4-5 days later when Dmitri came back to verify the sealant he used had cured properly. Then sometime in February Conrad texted me about a promotion they had for a tune-up and maintenance service. Happy to accept and Leo came and performed the verification. I almost fell for this trick. But as he pressed me to make an appointment, he asked me what kind of a/c unit I have, which is an odd question for someone who has worked on our equipment previously. I then asked him directly, "Have I done business with you before?" No response. So I asked again. No response. It turns out, I have no record of doing business with Conrad Heating & Cooling, because we have never done business with this company! I told him I would not be scheduling anything with Conrad. This representative didn't even know what type of unit we have, confirming there was no prior relationship. The familiar tone of the initial text was a deliberate tactic to create a false sense of trust. And I find that very offensive! I'd encourage other homeowners, especially seniors who are frequently targeted by this kind of approach, to read unsolicited texts carefully. If a company implies they've worked with you before, ask specific questions before agreeing to anything. In this case, the deception became obvious very quickly.
