    Turtle Pastrami Burger
    Tyler B.

I stopped by Purple Turtle for lunch and ordered the Turtle Pastrami Burger. The flavors were solid and it definitely hit the spot, but I was hoping for more pastrami on the sandwich. Next time I'll probably add extra. The patty itself was thinner than I expected, but everything still came together nicely overall. The drive-in setup can be a little tricky to figure out if it's your first time here. I had placed a mobile order and tried to pick it up through the drive-thru, but the process seemed to confuse the staff a bit. Not a major issue, just something to note.

It's been a very long time since I've eaten at purple turtle and it hasn't changed a bit, it was so nostalgic walking in. Now, is the food amazing? No, but it's not bad! Just a classic burger place. The fries are mid but they've got good ranch which makes up for it. We also ordered their sweet potato fries, my husband liked them, and I thought they were just fine. The soda wasn't that great, they've got one of those soda dispensers where multiple drinks come out of the same nozzle & the drinks never taste right to me. The restaurant wasn't super busy inside just a few families dining in & the service was fast & friendly!

What a cute little burger joint! A friend of ours joined us for dinner before going to the Haunted Forest in AF. I will say that the food is on point! But if you're in a hurry, make sure you give yourself some extra time as things are cooked fresh, so it takes a little bit longer. It can get pretty busy as well, but the staff is helpful and kind.

    Tater tots

Best shakes in town when they get it right! Tater tots are bomb especially when paired w the fry sauce. Love the coupons and promotions

My wife and I were invited to the Purple Turtle by two good friends. Along with the eclectic name, it has an eclectic "Arctic Circle" vibe, but much better in many respects. Even with the lunch rush, the spacious booths were always kept clean. My wife, Mrs. "white glove" said the bathrooms looked and smelled amazingly clean. Food was delivered to our table promptly so all the food was fresh and hot. This restaurant serves a broad mix of burgers, sandwiches and best of all, excellent fish and chips. Pleasant Grove obviously has a very nostalgic view of this restaurant. When I took a picture of the exterior people in the drive-through were telling us how great the food was, and not to pass it up because of the funky color scheme. I'm glad we didn't. I had a pastrami burger with an excellent marinated salad on top with a side of very crisp tater tots. My wife got the halibut and tots, which you can also get with French fries or English chips. The burgers were good with an interesting tangy sauce, lettuce and tomato. The tater tots were still crunchy, even when they cooled. The halibut looked greasy, but was not. The fish was moist and properly cooked. All told I would give the Purple Turtle a very good review. I'd say it's an excellent family friendly, budget conscious restaurant with better than average food. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

Stoked to live so close to this cute spot! The fries are so crisp and delicious and the shake was soooooo creamy. Absolutely loved this meal and the service was so fast. Cute vibe and attention to detail from the window signs to the cool quotes up on the walls!

How does this compare to say.. in n out burger? Because IN N OUT is Family owned?

Ok, so you like in and out burger! Well that's a chain restaurant just like any other chain restaurant, cheap and fast. The purple turtle is a family based old fashioned burger joint! They use quality meat and fresh ingredients, hand made onion…

When you enter, you order and pay first. Then, you get a number for your table, where they will bring your food out to you. After reviewing their menu, I wanted the cranberry apple salad. Unfortunately, that dish is currently not in season. Their seasonal fruit salad right now is Strawberry Fields, which is great too! I got it with grilled chicken rather than fried chicken. The salad was delicious!! Lots of color from the variety of fruits and veggies. They gave me 2 sauce cups of dressing; I went with poppy seed as my dressing. My friend got the blue cheese bacon burger. By the way, burgers do not automatically come with fries; you must add it on or upgrade to a combo. Also, my friend noticed there were cookie bits in his plain ole vanilla shake; no complaints, just thought it was something to call out since we assume a vanilla shake would just be that and nothing more haha we think there may be vanilla cookies in there. The location is pretty spacious with good amount of seating.

I am not sure what I was expecting, but I definitely thought they were in a more centralized location. They are not too far from State Street but not close to too many other businesses either. The great news is, they have a wide open parking lot with plenty of spaces. Their food truck is super cute. It hardly looks like a truck and resembles more of a massive wagon. They really went all out with the branding and I am here for it. With it being a parked food truck, they didn't have a lobby or an inside but they did have some tables and chairs right outside their truck. Upon approaching the truck, a guy came to stand beside me and take my order. I was not 100% sure what I wanted but I elected for their signature burger with fries. He said that he could bring it out to my car once it was ready, which I extra appreciated because it was not a very nice day out. My total was just shy of 20 bucks, at $19.27. I sorta understand. I mean, they're a local food truck and it seems that they strive to provide much better quality food than other fast food places...but this is pretty steep for just a burger and fries. The food did seem to come out pretty fast and I was excited to try it. The onion on the burger was a bit large, it was almost an inch thick and I think I would've preferred it cut up just a little more. The fries were pretty good but tasted a bit greasier than I would've liked. I did like that it came with a fry sauce. All in all, I really liked Burger Pioneers. I felt that all the flavors were a bit overpowering and almost bitter because of the greasy taste, but it wasn't a bad burger spot. I hope to be back when the weather is nicer with some friends. This is probably such a cute, fun spot in the summer time!

But that is not why you are here. Every summer Taco Amigo does something magical with fresh ripe strawberries and it makes everything else irrelevant. Their strawberry shakes are the real reason this place has a loyal following, and after one try you will completely understand it. Real strawberries, generous with them, blended into something that makes summer feel shorter than it actually is. When strawberry season winds down, the fresh peach shakes take over in the fall and they are nearly as good. Nearly. Yes, the wait on weekends during shake season is real. Go anyway. This is a locally owned spot with a friendly staff, a clean space, and something genuinely special coming out of that blender. That combination deserves support. My honest advice: eat somewhere else first, then stop here for dessert. Order the strawberry shake and find a spot to enjoy it. Five stars, every single one of them earned by that shake.
