Scheduled an appointment for Fri 315. The service advisor that the system randomly assigned me to wasn't immediately there, so another advisor mentioned he'd be right out. I waited until 330 and went inside the lobby. Another advisor kindly decided to help me. I showed him the issue (water condensation inside the light of a 4 month old Cadillac). He said that it would go away after a couple of days. I informed him it's been that way for 1.5 weeks. He then informed me that it was common for all of their cars including corvettes. I then informed him that I'd go to another dealer who actually cared. I went to the SSF Cadillac location this morning, and they were prompt, helpful, and the warranty part will arrive on Monday. Honestly, Joe Putnam would be embarrassed at how badly the service has degraded at his dealership. I would skip this location in the future and recommend servicing your vehicle elsewhere. read more

I don't generally buy from car dealers because of how difficult they can make the process, but the team at Putnam were great and made the whole thing super smooth, efficient and accommodating. Worst Experience at a GM dealership have ever had. I was told by friends that this dealership is the worse but I thought it would save me a 20mile drive to the next dealership. Dropped off my Escalade to get a transfer actuator installed. The part requires 30min to install. Vehicle was dropped off 4/1 with an appointment and I stated that I needed the vehicle no longer then 4/8 or I would have to reschedule my appointment. No follow up call so I called on Monday and dealer rep stated the car would be ready Tuesday. Well it wasn't. I had to call over a dozen times to follow up h til the dealer finally stopped answering I had to show up at the dealership 4/9 and demand to have my vehicle returned. I sat there for 3 hours while they figured it out. They had misplaced my vehicle and left the interior lights on and the vehicle died. The vehicle was given back to me completely filthy and all of our personal settings were whipped out. Absolute no help and extremely unprofessional. read more

Willie Jurado was an extremely supportive and personable salesperson, and anyone would be lucky to have him as their sales representative. I deduct one star from this review simply because the dealership initially refused to let Willie close the sale with me, because the particular vehicle I was interested apparently was not within his sales purview. I was astonished that they would not sell me the car through Willie, even though he had gone through the trouble to make the sale. I would not back down, for Willie's sake, and eventually they relented. Maybe this is how business is done but the whole thing left me with a very cold feeling for the dealership. read more

I am very disappointed in this dealer in Burlingame. I bought a new electric car that is full of defects, they promised a lot of things and didn't deliver, even the car key doesn't work. Assistance given to me was 0%. When I went to buy it, they treated me very well, but then when the car started having problems, they didn't want to know. I spent a lot of time taking the car to be repaired and in the end I will have to request a return or exchange of the car. read more

The 2-star rating is an acknowledgement of the 18 years of service. How does a once very loyal customer (two vehicles serviced over 18 years) suddenly reject this dealership? Simple: being insulted. I received a marketing email where the dealership made it clear that they are very interested in buying my low mileage, well-maintained vehicle. I clicked on the email to read it. I never asked to contacted. But contact me the very next day they did because they knew that I simply clicked the email. After only reading the email, the sales department made it clear they were interested. That is OK by me. I was intrigued because I believed them to be sincere. I made an appointment and drove my car to the dealership per their instructions. The used car manager took my key to asses my car and I was left in the new car sales showroom for about 15 minutes to chat with a young, eager, and very green salesperson. Again, that is OK by me because I thought they were sincere in the efforts, but after 15 minutes, the used car manager return and offered me the most insulting price. I called the general sales manager when I got home and left 2 message that day. NO return call. I texted the sales person who initiated the call. Three texts over several hours. NO return text. So, how insulting was their offer? You be the judge. Later that day, motivated by my anger at being insulted, I sold my low-mileage, well-maintained, Cadillac on Carvana for 138% of Putnam's insulting offer. Use their service department if you must and have no other option, but I would NOT trust their new sales or used car sales departments. read more

The dealership failed to disclose a known Jeep issue about 4xes shutting down while driving. My kids nearly died because of the gross negligence of the sales team to withhold that information from me when I asked how the hybrids were performing. After being aware of all of this, the GM offered to "help my family" by buying my car back below KBB instant buy offers and selling me a Yukon above their internet pricing from Putnams website. Eh not impressed with this customer service. We were seriously interested in buying a car here (test drove and got the person's card) but wanted to double check a car real quick at the Nissan next door. I'm talking like, just checking out the seating (less than 10 min). So we left our current car in the Cadillac/Chevy/Buick parking lot briefly and not even a few minutes later someone yelled at us across the road to move our car. I get being upset someone is "taking" a spot while at another dealership, but there were other spots next to ours and we were just finalizing our choice quickly. If we had left it there for 20 min, I'd get it. But it was a few min until he yelled at us, like he was watching or something. Off putting customer service, we will be taking my business to another dealer. I think it was the GM who yelled at us. The guy helping us with test driving the car was very nice tho! read more

When I did arrive the next day, their service agent, Vic, not only was unable to find the car that was promised, he made no attempt to rectify the situation. So not only did I waste 60 minutes of time and gas, I had to deal with complete incompetents. And with that example of extremely poor service, they have lost my business forever. I usually am a very patient, easy going guy. However, I own a 2017 Cadillac XTS that has a little over 54000 miles on it. Several months ago I noticed that the air conditioning stopped working. Initially I took it to Midas who told me they fixed air conditioners, they quickly informed me that they couldn't fix it as it had a special type of coolant so I asked for a recommendation of a garage that could fix it, I took it there and 30 minutes later got a call to come back and get it as they didn't work with the type of coolant. Finally I took it to Putnam Cadillac in Burlingame they told me it was a part buried deep in my dashboard and gave me a quote of $6000.00 to repair. I agreed as we were moving to the Central Valley of California where it gets quite hot in the summer. I ended up paying $5500 for the repair, a day or two later the air stopped working again. I immediately took it back to Putnam they informed me that the part they had installed was defective and replaced it at no cost after several days. A few days later it stopped working again, I again returned to Putnam and was told after several days that they found a leak in a hose, that was once again buried in the dashboard. The quote this time was $2200.00 as they had to remove the dashboard again. I asked if they could cut me a deal and they agreed to take half of that amount. So, if you're keeping up that's $6600.00 for an air conditioner repair. Well to my surprise yesterday it stopped working again (4th time in less than a month). I took it to Putnam and told them I'm not paying anything else period, they either fix it or refund the entire $6600.00 that I have paid. I could have bought an entirely new air conditioning system for the amount I've paid. Not feeling patient or easy going now! And after getting the car back for the fifth time the air conditioner is not working. read more
