We called Terry on the morning of January 17, 2015, with a squirrel in the attic problem. Terry and his sidekick showed up promptly on that afternoon and confirmed my suspicions--flying squirrels. He found two potential access points immediately and recommended a perimeter seal job to remediate the problem for good. We actually had talked to two other companies before negotiating a very fair deal with Pyramid Exterminators (Terry) to solve the problem. We went with Terry because he seemed like a straight shooter who really knew his stuff. The next weekend, Terry's crew performed the seal job while we were away enjoying the day with my wife's parents in Stockbridge. When we returned, I called Terry, and he returned to the house late in the evening to set traps in the attic. That's awesome service, right? You bet! I wish I could say that it was the end of the squirrel saga, but it wasn't. After a few days of peace (5-7), we started hearing critters again. Like Vida D., we continued to hear the darned squirrels having their own party during the Super Bowl, scurrying through the walls and ceiling from room to room! It was almost comical to listen to them, as their movements seemed to correlate to every score during the game, but anyone who has dealt with this problem knows that it makes your blood boil at the same time! My assumption was that they needed to find their way out of the house via the exit valve that Terry left for them, but as a couple of weeks more went by with noises in the ceiling during the 2-4 am timeframe, I knew they were still going in and out of the house at will. Otherwise, they would have been dead in the house from lack of water if they were trapped in the house by the seal job for three weeks. Terry and I talked, and Terry scheduled a roofing subcontractor with the ladders necessary to reach the highest side of the house (our house is built on the middle of a hill and the basement has daylight on the side and you need a 40'+ ladder to reach the top because of the danger of trying to inspect the fascia from the roof because of its steep pitch). By this time, it was about the middle of February, and just as in Vida D's case, the sub found a fairly lengthy gap on that side that was not sealed. As soon as he heard the report back from the sub, I got a call from Terry indicating that the sub would take care of the seal job on the missed side within a couple of days. Unfortunately for Terry, this dragged on for a about a week and a half due to cold, rainy weather and the sub's schedule. However, once it got done, I'm happy to report that we're approaching a month with no noises whatsoever! We really appreciate Terry's diligence and his being a man of his word. Although he didn't hit it out of the park on the first try, he did finally claim victory through persistence. For us, the mark of a good service company is not only what happens when things go right, it's also what happens when things don't go right the first time as well! The one constructive criticism that I will make is that Terry probably took a gamble that went against him by not ceiling the difficult to access side of the house in the first place. Had that side been done originally, it would have been a great job from the start. I also suspect that the access points that Terry's crew originally sealed did stop the critters from coming in and out of the house at first, but then the critters found the big gap on the other side of the house after a few days once they could no longer get in. That probably explains why we had a little bit of peace after the initial seal job. Kudos to Terry and Pyramid Exterminators! read more

I spoke with Terry when I called to see if they could come out and tell me what this bug was that was infesting my kitchen. I told him that I would take one of the bugs to my lab (I'm a research scientist) and identify it under microscopy with the help of one of the other scientist. We identified it as a terrestrial beetle, took a picture and sent it to Terry. Adrian came the next day, assessed the problem and explained what the beetle was and how they could eliminate them. While he was there we found their nest and food source. They were not harmful to humans, just a nuisance. Adrian sprayed and the beetles immediately started coming out of the cracks and dying. I have only seen 3 or 4 of them since and that was they next day. Adrian is supposed to return to set some traps, which may not be necessary, but I've paid for them so prayerfully he will return with them. That was November 26th, and today is December 11th. My call to this company was answered by Terry. I explained to him I had a bad yellowjacket infestation in my backyard and whether nest removal was a service he could provide. He answered my questions about the process he would use to remove them and set up a time the day off that he could come over. The yellowjackets were very active, dangerously so, and after initially applying an insecticide he left, promising that he would return later. He was good on his word, he came back at a reasonable time and was able to finish removing all visible signs of the infestation. He also promised to return and do a follow-up if the nest was not fully destroyed and the queen managed to survive. Terry was absolutely wonderful from the moment I called to when he came out to treat the face of my house. I called at least 5 other pest control companies before I found Pyramid on Google and when I inquired about boxelder bugs, all the other companies gave me a brush off of "I don't know, probably covered in general sprays", but when I called Terry, he knew exactly what I was asking about and talked to me about their lifecycle and usual appearances throughout the seasons. This was our second consecutive year using Pyramid for our minor roach problem. Needed a rodent exclusion job done. Sent an email on a friday night. Terry came to quote me on the job the next morning. It turned out to be a huge job($1500), but when Terry explained all the things I actually needed it looked like i was getting an excellent deal. Just got rid of a HUGE headache - a yellow jacket nest!!!! Thanks to Terry for not only following up with us continuously but also making sure everything was addressed. Terry was great - very personable. The price for bug treatment+termite treatment was much better than I was expecting. Terry was also very upfront with me in advising me that the termite bait stations are a waste of money. He could have made more on me, but instead was very truthful and told me the real protection actually comes from the full perimeter termidor application.
