It's unfortunate but this review is based on a mistake the owner/chef made with me. I had been here once before and liked it however this time it was close to closing and when I paid my bill it was $35. I needed change so I gave cash-three $20 bills. He comes back with change from 2 twenty dollar bills. I told him the error and the person with me also stated that he was positive I gave him 3 twenties because he was asking me why so much. Anyway, long story short, I lost money here due to dishonesty or his unwillingness to believe me and admit he made an error. I even gave him my business card to contact me when the cash drawer gets balanced because he will definitely be over, and no call. My suggestion to you is to NEVER pay cash here because it's your word against his and the customer is never right in his eyes. I won't be going back. read more

My boyfriend and I live right around the corner from this place and have always been curious to try this place. This place adds to the saying "curiosity killed the cat". THIS PLACE BLOWS!!! If you enjoy eating in places that share the same "qualities" as this place does, than you should totally check this place out. Our table was FILTHY. So filthy that our napkins had DIRT smudged all over them. When I explained this to our server, her solution was to hand me a dry, dirty bar rag to clean the table with. After I cleaned the table myself, we waited FORTY MINUTES (in an empty restaurant- for two plates of food), until I noticed that my boyfriend had DIRT FLAKES in his beer! Again, we brought this up with our server. She offered us another beer. We said no and asked for our check and decided to take our food to-go, instead. She took the beer off of our bill ($4.95), but then took it upon herself to add 15% of tip ($4.93) on an order we had insisted on taking out. When I asked the server about that, she said "Yah. I dunno why our kitchen got so backed up". I'm not sure why the kitchen was backed up either. It seems strange to me, since there are, hmm....1,2,3,4 people in this joint! Did the kitchen also make the tables filthy and serve us beer with dirt flakes floating around too?! If you're in the mood for Mediterranean food, go to Hy Mart Sandwiches, Pita Fresh or Zankou Chicken. They're WAY CHEAPER and their food is WAY better. I went to this establishment on MLK Day '13 and was very disappointed!! The sign outside clearly stated OPEN. There were a few people on the patio chillin' and there was one person inside eating. NO ONE was there to greet us and we even walked back to the kitchen. NO ONE to be found. Let's just say anything I ate came right back up the moment I walked into the bathroom. Not only was there 1 HUGE dead cockroach by the sink, but another two fellas hanging on for life in the stall. I had an amazing time here. It was a hot day and I needed a drink. The bar area was VERY nice and relaxing and the HOOKAH was the best price I've experienced aaannywhere. Im used to paying a lot for Hookah in Hollywood, so it was great to pay literally HALF of what I was expecting! The owner actually came out and I met him! He was so nice, he even gave us a free appetizer after a great conversation. Great guy. Overall I had a Wonderful experience and I will absolutely come back again. When I walked in with my party of 4 there wasn't a single person in the restaurant. Not at the host stand, behind the bar or even in the kitchen. After 10 minutes the hostess finally walks in and rudely told us to sit somewhere. The food was adequate and they didn't even have alcohol. I come here all the time for hookah. Their house blend is one of my favorites (a mix of watermelon, melon, and peach I believe). Service can be a hit or a miss depending on how busy they are, but more often than not, they have quick service. Also an apple head on a hookah are just $5 extra, whereas another hookah cafés I've been to charges $20. I will say that one time I did order seasoned fries here, and they were really good! I ate there for the first time last night. The food was amazing! Unfortunately I had to take my food togo as I have deadlines and needed to work through dinner. However, not well versed in Greek food I tried the Spanakopita for the first time. It was fantastic! I also had the feta cheese plate and the hummus which was the best I ever had. While I waited for my food I hung at the bar and was entertained by the bartender; a very personable guy and not bad to look at. The music was nice. The decor is beautiful and everyone was friendly. There is literally one guy working as a cook, hookah guy, waiter and everything else. Each person must have a drink (bottled starbucks coffee was expired), they add 15% service charge but don't provide any service lol Hookah wasn't bad but he will never refresh the coals if you don't ask. I wanted to give them 5 stars as I have been waiting for this neighborhood cafe to open for a long time, but the waiter left a little to be desired. We came at lunch for the first time and had their chicken wraps. The restaurant was unusually empty. There were 3 other tables with people. The place is so massive (both inside and out) that it would take a lot of people to make the place look crowded. The waiter started off a little cold and warmed up a little, but not enough for me to give the full 5 stars. The food came out a little slow, especially just for 2 wraps. The owner came out and asked us how the food was, which was a nice touch. The place has a nice ambience with wall murals. The patio is dog friendly and there is a happy hour! The food is pretty good but seems to be priced more as if it were in Toluca Lake, rather than in North Hollywood. It's still reasonable nonetheless. The owner is really a nice guy and try to stop by every now and then to help with business. In my opinion, the restaurant really is just too big and it makes the place always look empty. I'm not into hookah and don't mind it being there, but the place often attracts a lot of high school kids and there are definitely nights I have avoided going because of them. Such a shame too because it is probably the biggest patio in the valley and has so much potential. I would definitely recommend giving it a try. read more

The ambience is very welcoming and beautiful, all staff are very kind and just plain awesome. The food is superb! Had the Chicken Schwarma and it was on point, and there was so much food I could barely finish it up. Also started with a little appetizer I'd never seen or tried before, these little rolls with cheese in them.. SO GOOD! Their dolma was AWESOME, kibi is AWESOME, rice is AWESOME, and .... yeah! Authentic and delicious, and I hear that they have a popping DJ night on the weekends with Belly Dancers and Hookah. Looking forward to that :) read more

We went on a Friday night around 9 pm, and there was no one there. (Which should have been our first clue) We ordered the beef and it was absolutely awful. It tasted like it had been frozen for a month and then left out to rot and then they tried to cover it up by cooking it to death. We spoke to the waitress first and expressed our concern about the food quality. She sort of apologized and walked off. We then asked to speak to the manager and she came over. She already knew what our complaint was, yet hadn't bothered to come over and speak to us. She immediately went on the attack and blamed us for not eating enough Greek food and we didn't know what we were talking about. She then told us she didn't even like the beef herself. They made no attempts to make it right or even really apologize. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Completely appalled that a restaurant would serve this kind of food and claim it was fresh. Hoping not to get sick! Please pray for us. The food was pretty tasty, though they really skimp on the grilled veggies. However, the price point was a bit higher than I felt it should have been (a common theme with new places in NoHo - yes, I'm looking at you Phil's). They have a nice big space, but it was awkwardly empty. Understandably so given the horribly slow service. I was in a party of only two, and there were only 2 or 3 other tables (which were already pretty far into/done with their meals) and yet our server was not very attentive at all, my friend never got a drink that she ordered, and the food took exorbitantly long to arrive (with no apology - which leads me to believe it always takes that long, which is absurd, or is another ding against our server). Maybe I'll try them out for lunch some time, but I don't see myself going back for dinner any time soon. They get two stars because the food was, in fact, tasty - but then so is the food at plenty of other places. read more

My friend was in LA for a day and was in the mood for some delicious Greek food. We decided to stop by Pyramido and I'm glad we did! We came on a weekday around lunch time and it was slow, and the chef (Mido) suggested the Greek salad. I added salmon. Best. Decision. Ever. Mido made the dressing and I begged him for some to take home. SO GOOD. My friend ordered a Chicken Gyro that came with fries, she liked it. We got hummus, that came with pita bread, and the feta cheese platter. Both were plenty to share. We wrapped up our lunch date with hookah on the patio. We mixed sex on the beach, passion kiss, and a hint of mint per Mido's request. Simply delightful. :-) I'll definitely be back! read more

Started with Spanikopita - bread was a little heavy, but still good I had the Penne Rustica - sooo yummy BF had Beef Shawarma - very yummy as well Ended with Tiramisu - good The wait staff still needs some training. I love the food and people here. My first time in the owner came out from the kitchen to introduce himself and ask how we enjoyed our meal. And the food is fantastic, everything I've ordered has impressed me, including the Tabouli which I dont usually get, but theirs has so much lemon, it was refreshing and delicious. Plus, they've got cheap Greek lager in the bottle, which is the perfect drink to enjoy when its hot outside. Only two points of contention at this juncture: 1. The pita bread is very thin and very dry. This would be good if it were crunchy, but its not quite right. It either needs to be thicker and softer or thinner and more brittle. 2. The main dining area is a large, open space with high, echoing ceilings. This can take away from the ambiance and make conversation difficult to be heard. My suggestion: get some drapes up there and give this place "Middle-Eastern Tent" feel. It would add to the ambiance and baffle the noise. These are minor complaints, this place is well worth visiting and the price is right. Check it out! read more

Went here for lunch as I had heard about it and I love Greek and med food. It's a huge restaurant, nicely decorated and very open feeling Great for groups. Really nice patio with a fire pit I'm looking forward to sitting on. Food was fantastic. I only had soup (lentil) and these delicious cheese roll things that are like crack. The soup was obviously homemade and hd a very nice flavor that comforted my tummy and was perfectly spiced the cheese rolls had spices and greek cheese rolled into phyllo and lightly deep fried. We could have eaten waaayy too many of them Crack I say, crack. My partner had a kefta sandwich and fries. The sandwich was awesome, kefta was wonderfully spiced and the fries were perfectly cooked. Had a show next door at Skinny's Lounge and decided to pop in for a bite. Mind you I HAD to eat SOMETHING, so this seemed right up a bellydancer's alley. It was ok. The place was empty around 7pm on a Thursday. It seemed clean, and the bar looks like a nice place to hang. If you are Greek, I'd say don't bother. I've eaten food in Greece, and this is not it. The Spanakopita is AWFUL. Trader Joe's has a better frozen version. They don't even use phyllo, it's in some horrible bread type thing. The falafel was ok....sorta dry, I've definitely had better. I stopped by on 7/5 around 4:30 pm. The outdoor seating area was full of men in their 20's and 30's harassing and catcalling women walking by including what appeared to be minors. The wait staff didn't do anything to stop the customers' behaviors. Definitely not a good scene for families and women especially those walking by. read more

Holy Smokes!! First off, this place is absolutely beautiful. The patio is gigantic and provides a great ambiance. It is a fairly new place, only about 6 months old. One of the owners is also the chef. I was also told that the three owners did all of the artwork on the walls as well as the menu/take-out menus/business cards & website designs. They seem to be very dedicated and love what they do. The chef often comes out to talk to customers when he is not busy and it is fun to see how much he truly enjoys making people happy with his food. The food is even more beautiful than the place and some of the best Mediterranean I have ever had. I would compare the difference in taste like the difference between fresh squeezed juice and juice from concentrate. The food just tastes sooooo unbelievably fresh. The menu is very extensive and offers TONS of options. One of the cheapest hookahs in the areas and everything else is VERY reasonably priced. With hookah, full bar, friendly service (Helen has been there since day 1 and it's easy to see why, beautiful and provides a great experience, Frank a new guy is also a lot of fun) there is no way you can go wrong with this place, whether a night out with some friends or a romantic dinner for two. I have been a few times and will continue to help support this gem in NoHo as long as they are in business. As for the comments on the service, the restaurant has made vast improvements in this area since the beginning of the new year. They now have a solid staff and a great platform to grow on for the summer months when I predict this place will be packed, especially when they bring back the fire juggling belly dancers, as well as a live arabic band and various other types of entertainment. Other than the service being painstakingly slow, the ambiance is decent and the food quite tasty (though nowhere near the authenticity of restaurants like Carousel or Phonecian). A bit of a disclaimer here-- You should know that having eaten some of the best middle eastern food (the middle east) has to offer and having grandmothers (on both sides) who can perfect dishes like hummus, tabouli or the like my standards are pretty high. So I would be lying if i said i didn't have the slightest bias. When all is said and done however, Pyramido is more for the patron who thinks "greek food" and middle eastern food are one in the same. Yes they are related, but they are not and should not be used synonymously. These two cuisines have and always will remain distant cousins. Hummus, hookahs and a symbol pinching belly dancer clad in mid drift (and tattoo bearing) ruby red Shaharazad silks. Is it the Lebanon of North Hollywood? Far from it. Does it have the potential of living up to the kind of restaurant that serves up the most authentic mezza? Perhaps not. What this place has is location. Sure, you may be sitting on Lankershim facing Al's discount furniture with the lights from the HAHA club glowing in the distance but if you sit back, close your eyes and let the music of Amr Diab carry you away like the hookah smoke billowing out of your mouth as it slowly takes over your senses you may not notice the difference. read more

I came here on my lunch break and this place was fabulous! We were technically the only ones here because it was so early but wow! We had great service and the hookah was....PERFECT. Honestly, I go to hookah lounges a lot and this session was one of the bests. I definitely recommend for hookah. Not sure about the food since we didn't have any today. We parked in front on the parking meter so I'm not see if they provide parking. The man who was helping us out was extreme helpful and made a great blend for us since we asked for his recommendation!
