This is my fourth Granville and by far the best. I now see that each restaurant in this chain are individually owned and operated and so I have to conclude the people who run this one are heads above the rest. First of all, I love the artwork. That is what convinced me to try this particular Granville when the first three were OK but nothing special. This one is. Second, the place is vast and beautifully decorated inside (see my pix). The temperature, the music (80s), the furnishings (brick, stone, glass, metal, wood -- all top quality), the plants, and the service were exceptional. Third, if you are up for it, there is valet parking even for weekend brunch. This is nice because the neighborhood is a little grungy and that saves stepping over the things on the sidewalks that should really be cleaned up by the city. Fourth, the menu keeps evolving. Everything we had there was for the first time. All of it was perfect. Beautifully plated, served at the right temperature, fresh and well seasoned, delicious. Dre, our server, was all smiles and so efficient, she seemed to float around. She made the experience lively and fun. This is a big space and yet, even on an off day at an off hour, people were streaming in the entire time we were there, almost filling it up. Whoever designed the place knew how to bring in just the right light so everything glowed and was brightly mysterious, iykwim? It was a perfect experience from start to finish. Terrible service from the get go. My fiancé and I were just craving a decent bite out tonight. Before we left, I had checked to see if there were any reservations available (about 7:15pm) and all times were available so I figured it would be all good to walk in. When we arrived, we were greeted with blinding glares from the two hostesses. They asked if we had a reservation and said there was a 45 minute wait. The restaurant was empty. Since I remembered there were open reservations, I stepped outside to make a reservation that was still open for 15 minutes from when we were told there was a 45 minute wait. We wandered the block for the 15 minutes and then went back. I stated I had a reservation and then we were told that "our manager actually just closed the reservations right after you guys stepped out". OpenTable still had reservations open. I don't understand why a business would not want customers to dine in, in this day and age, and economy. They must be doing pretty well to be turning paying customer away! read more

I had dinner here with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The sautéed mushrooms, grilled asparagus, rainbow trout, broccolini, & capellini with chicken were all delicious. The trout and asparagus really stood out. I'm going to be craving the trout when I'm back home. The bread grilled with duck fat was unhinged and extremely decadent. For dessert, I recommend the split-- talk about decadent layers of flavors and textures! I need to learn how bruleéd bananas are made now, because that was a whole revelation. We also tried the flourless chocolate cake, which wasn't sweet and had a salty crust. It was a bit too grown-up of a set if flavors for the kid who ordered it. I loved the port soaked cherries that came with it, though. The berry shortcake was lovely, but didn't hold a candle to the split. Our server, Jenna, was lovely and took great care of us. This is a great option if you want to eat more on the cleaner side and not choose something from a fast food restaurant. My favorite dish was the Sharable lettuce cups because the Asian slaw and mango with avocado and lemongrass dressing really paired well together. We decided to celebrate Easter with an early dinner at my favorite Granville, located in the charming Boho Arts District. I've visited a few of their locations, but this one really captures the artsy vibe that I love. Thankfully, we made reservations, as it wasn't too busy when we arrived.I always order the salmon, and it never disappoints. The addition of corn elevates the dish, making it incredibly flavorful. My boyfriend opted for the hummus pita, which he found to be a light and enjoyable meal. Although I didn't snap a photo of the artisan bread, I can assure you it melts in your mouth. I have been to Granville a couple of times and have had an enjoyable visit both times. My partner and I have stopped by here for drinks and appetizers before enjoying the rest of our evening and have been very pleased with the taste of the drinks and the attentive and friendly service. For a rather large restaurant, we haven't found ourselves having to wait around for staff to take our order or check-in on us which is always appreciated! I would recommend making a reservation to ensure seating as it seems to get busy Friday and Saturday evenings. Our recommendations for appetizers and drinks are: uptown mac and cheese, grilled cheese dipper, the palomita drink, and the whiskey sour drink (both of these drinks are pictured)! I had the pleasure of dining here for a surprise birthday dinner for my beautiful cousin. Impressive restaurant. We had valet parking which was soooo awesome ! We had a private room upstairs which was so beautiful. The atmosphere was so welcoming. We had a slide show with my cousin's birthday showcasing friends and family. ‍‍‍! I loved this. We came here with 4 friends before going to a play at El Portal. We've been to the Granville in Studio City many times but the first time here. My wife and I split a Santa Barbara chicken sandwich and Lettuce Cups and it was more than enough. Dre was a good and helpful server as we asked her to put cheese and basil pesto on the side and grain wheat toast and she was open and helpful and checked on the six of us consistently in the hour or so we were at our table. The other two couples also enjoyed their food. We were seated on the top level with a view. As a note, they put a 20% "service charge for 6 or more guests," even if we each paid for our own meals, but it was perfectly fine. I came to Granville for the first time before seeing a movie screening. First off, this area of NoHo was super artsy. You'll find many murals on buildings, old school theaters and overall cool vibes. I was really impressed by this restaurant. You step in and are immediately transported into a very upscale and romantic atmosphere. The bar is the center piece and absolutely stunning. There are actually 2 levels to this restaurant and both the 1st and 2nd floors are equally beautiful. Even the bathroom was nice! Our server was very kind and helpful. We received A+ service. And, the food and drinks were delicious. They have fabulous cocktails and zero proof mocktails as well. I loved the butter lettuce cups...they had a bit of a kick and were really refreshing on a hot summer day. My friend ordered a sandwich and fries and the fries stole the show for me! Granville is a restaurant that has something for everyone - lots of great options for drinks and food. I came with a group to celebrate and everyone seemed happy with what they ordered. The burger looked picture perfect and came with a side of fries. I've gotten salads here and they are all well portioned and tasty. This time I opted for a non-alcoholic drink and I tried their black cherry tarragon soda. It's a really unique flavor and I enjoyed it! It is on the sweeter side so I recommend putting some soda water in it to dilute it a bit. Parking can be a bit tricky here since it's located within a busy area of NoHo, but I found street parking a couple blocks away. They do have valet parking and validate inside too which knocks off a few bucks. read more

We ordered the Shakshuka and Wagyu Birria Brisket Breakfast Tacos as well the Granville Berry Lemonade, Black Cherry Tarragon craft soda, and Agave Vanilla Cream craft soda. Of the meals, the Shakshuka really shined! They grilled the sourdough to perfection and cooked the Shakshuka with care leaving it robust and full of flavor. We ate it up before thinking to take a picture for this review (sorry!). The Black Cherry Tarragon Soda has a unique herbal, borderline medicinal, flavor that I really loved (my partner wasn't the biggest fan, though, so your mileage may vary). That said they're terrible about accurately packing their orders. I've done pickup a dozen times and almost every time they've left out one or multiple items. Very frustrating because it's a reoccurring issue and they refuse to fix it. I frustratingly came home with a pickup order missing multiple items. Came in on a Monday about an hour before closing with a decent sized group. We sat at the bar and the bartender quickly took our drink orders. My friend ordered an extra dirty martini, but it seemed to come with a lot of vermouth and very little olive juice. The receipt ended up saying "extra dry" on it but the bartender insisted she "doesn't use vermouth" in her martinis. Their espresso martinis are SUPER strong in both coffee and liquor, so if you typically like sweeter coffee or espresso martinis, this isn't that. My favorite item here is their Bacon & Blue Burger which is pure cane bacon, blue cheese, mushrooms, port wine reduction, horseradish aioli, caramelized onions, arugula, served with house made chips. It was our first time there. We met up with 2 of our friends to celebrate my birthday. The place itself looks fantastic. What a tasteful and unique interior! We were led upstairs by the very friendly hostess and had a table with the view down to their snack bar and this incredible and awesome huge light fixture hanging from the ceiling. Our waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming and professional. Our food was incredible. Now, the reason why I am giving this place only 4 stars is because it is so extremely loud. When we walked into the restaurant, the bottom floor where also the bar is located, it was very loud and noisy. When we were led up by the stairs into the second floor dining area, it was a bit less. At the first moments compared to downstairs. But still so noisy that we had a very hard time having a conversation without yelling at each other, which we tried not to do, as we did not like the majority of the other customers. It was very unpleasant. It actually gave me a headache. I was going to take some photos of our food. But I was so turned off by all this I didn't feel like it. The service was flawless and good. But at the end, when we were leaving and were at the bottom floor to get to the exit, there was one table full of people literally screaming. All of us 4 were so turned off by this. I do not understand the management that they wouldn't step in and. Advise those unruly customers to lower their noise. After all, there are still other customers who like to enjoy their dinner. The butter is whipped duckfat, and while it is extremely rich...it is sooo delectable and a must try. The first time I visited, I got the Cesar salad and added shrimp. My second visit is went basic and got a veggie burger and fries. Both were amazing choices. There are a ton of options to choose from, the ambiance is really something else!
