Great family-owned bakery! The owner and her children are very sweet and friendly. Not only do they offer donuts and coffee but they also sell Vietnamese pastries, desserts, and custom order cakes. I've ordered pork pate chaud (it also comes with chicken) and pandan honeycomb cake for family and friends parties and they're always a favorite! Order in advance by phone and you can pay using Zelle or Venmo, it's really convenient. #25-07-09

Lots of parking, because it's located in the shopping plaza, so will be no excise for you not to stop, park & Go In!!!! U will not regret it, they are super friendly & on it w/customer service family owned establishment & they have been around for a while, it's great to know they lasted during covid A must have is the Pate (Chicken or Pork) & of course the Vietnamese coffee w/Cheese Foam. Friendly service. Plenty of parking. Accepts credit cards. Donuts were dry and they didn't have any old fashion. $18/dozen. Would not recommend the donuts. I didn't get the twists because they are half the size of twists anywhere else. I should have gotten the other items that others reviewed-pate chuad.

I love their creme brulee, banh bo, & the pate chaud. Ordered through door dash & this place did not disappoint. Their banh bo is very chewy and has the perfect sweetness to it. The creme brulee was sweet & had a nice sugar top where it cracks. So good! I haven't had good creme brulee in so long until I ordered from here. Flakey pate chaud, my kids loved it & the meat filling is plentiful. Overall good

Truly a hidden gem. Stumbled upon this while waiting in line for a table at a nearby restaurant, and we saw a guy before us purchasing 26 pate choud. Since we were eating soon, we only bought 2 to sample, and while ordering, the business owner insists we should buy more while she has stock, and that people come in to buy boxes at a time, as seen by the guy before us. We thought this was just a marketing scheme, but we were wrong because they were indeed THAT good. The pastry puff is made in house and oh so flaky yet soft and pairs amazingly well with either the chicken or pork filling. So after sampling 1 each of the chicken and pork, we bought more to take home. Then after our meal, we brought our family back so they could order more and so that we could also buy the Pandan waffle and Pandan honeycomb cake. The Pandan pastries were equally amazing and I regret only buying 1 waffle. And this time again, we saw a customer purchasing over 20 again! They also sell donuts, but I think their Vietnamese pastries are the true winner. Don't sleep on this place. There's 2 tables inside if you can't wait until you get home to eat your purchases. No public restrooms. But I would go back here in a heartbeat.

Dozen vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream $46

I chose to place an order here as I had tried a strawberry and vanilla cake at my friend's daughter birthday party last summer and really enjoyed it. That cake was light and fluffy, and the cream wasn't sweet. So I thought, let's order treats here to share with my small team at work and support local & independent businesses. The contact and order were placed via Facebook messaging with the owner Quyen @Mybaking Corner. Her FB page had a lot of pictures but no information on pricing or the menu of what she bakes. I inquired about a simple cupcake order and macs but felt I had to ask questions to get an answer rather than her providing me with her availability/options to choose from. I ordered the following after our exhance 1. A dozen macacrons (half pistachio and salted caramel) / $18. I was not informed these were mini macs. Therefore, I was surprised when I picked it up. They're slightly bigger than a rolo chocolate candy. Compared to other macs I've ordered from independent womyn businesses, this wasn't great but decent. The macaron is soft and chewey, though the shell itself brittles when you bite into it. -Pistachio flavor: it was definitely not pistachio flavor but more lemon tart (given to me wrong). The filling is not a cream lioe filling but more like a jelly/jam texture filling. It was not sweet, though I would have preferred the pistachio flavor as lemon is not a fav of mine. -Salted caramel: Jelly/jam like filling and tasted very caramel-ish and a little too sweet for me since it was a mini macaron. 2. Dozen vanilla cupcakes w/ vanilla buttercream frosting (i dont think she makes chocolate cupcakes as she didn't respond to my question about it / $46. The cupcake texture is like Vietnamese "banh bong lan" (sponge cake), or maybe it is. It's light and fluffy, not sweet at all. The buttercream is very lightly sweetened. I can barely taste the sweetness of it when tasted on its own but good when eaten together,mthough, nothing special. It's quite pricey for a dz simple cupcake. Me experience with customer service wasn't too great with the pick up. I came in to pick up the order on the morning of the rescheduled day, and informed the staff my name and that I was there to pick up my order. The staff looked around and the cupcakes was sitting on the counter so I told her must be mine. She gave me the dozen cupcakes only. I then told her I had a dozen macarons (half salted caramel and half pistachio) as well. She then looked in the glass cabinet and grabbed the container of macacrons. I noticed there were brown and slight yellowish macs so I didn't think of anything and took my order. However, I found later at lunch that the yellow-ish macs were not Pistachio, but rather lemon. If they had labeled the order then there would have not been a mistake. I was quite disappointed as anything lemon is not my favorite for dessert. I FB message Quyen later that day, and she apologized, stating that I was given the wrong order and offered for me to pick up the pistachio macs the next day. I saw the message late and didn't have time to go pick it up. There was no need to try to pick up another day as the macs may not be good anymore. However, I appreciate her flexibility with the rescheduling of my pick up as my meeting at work was canceled so I messaged her the day before to see if I can reschedule the pick up; and for offering to give me my correct order.

I had high hopes for this bakery after seeing their beautiful cakes on Facebook. I tried to visit last year, but they were fully booked, so I was excited to finally get a chance this year. Unfortunately, my experience with their customer service was underwhelming. While the cake was undeniably cute and the kids loved its appearance, the taste was disappointing. The cream/fondant on the outside was hard, bland, and broke apart as soon as a knife touched it. The cake itself had the texture of a soggy sponge. For the price, I expected much better--especially considering the size of the cake and how it compares to other well-known bakeries. I really wanted to love this place, but the taste and quality just didn't match the visuals or the cost.

I haven't been here personally, but I'm sure the customer service is great. I'm writing this review because my sister in law has gotten 3 cakes here for my nieces' birthdays and all 3 cakes were freaking amazing!! Like jaw dropping incredible each time the cake is revealed. And when I share pictures of the party with my coworkers they all ask "where did you get that cake?!" So this 5 star review is well deserved. But don't just take my words for it, see for yourself. I've attached the pictures below. My SIL said she basically just tells the owner what my nieces like and Voila! It's done beautifully. We decided to stop by this bakery while we were waiting for our boiling crab reservation - BEST DECISION EVER!! The customer service is excellent, the pastries match in excellence. We got the limoncello cake. I am very picky about my fruit flavored cakes, this one was perfect. The texture, as well as the frosting to cake ratio. We also got one pork meat pie, Belgian chocolate cake, and vanilla sponge cake. All equally delicious. Will definitely be coming back to support this small family owned business. Great prices too. You're missing out if you don't come here! read more

Q Baking Corner did an amazing job on my graduation cake. All the guests at my celebration were so amazed and impressed by the intricate details on the cake, from my school's logo, my schools colors, to the 2021 graduation cap on top of the cake. It was almost too beautiful to eat! The cake itself was delicious and packaged in a way that allowed for easy storage. It was still delicious the after being in the fridge for the next few days post-event. She's very kind and open to suggestions as to how you want your cake to look like. I purchased the pate chaud, chocolate donut and durian tart for my family and everyone enjoyed the food. I only ate the pate chaud and it was crispy and flavorful w/o being too greasy. It was the best pate chaud I've had in a while, so I will definitely go back for that. read more

I can't rave enough about Q baking. She's talented at fondant sculpting. The order process was so seamless. I texted her the photos of the design I want and she exceeded my expectations. Not only the cake looked amazing but also tasted yummy. The butter cream frosting was creamy and had enticing fragrance. The cake is fluffy and not too sweet. The fondant lasted over 4 hrs outdoor. Q Baking Corner was in the moment for some sweet. I've never been to this location before. Come in to get 1 slice of cake and 2 of their green Vietnamese sponge cake. Came out to be $15. Gave the kid a 20 dollar bill. The SOB gave me the dirty looks as if I gave him a fake bill. He bagged 2 of the items, and 1 my friend carried out to eat. He kid yelling "hey did you pay for that?" I was like, WTF ?! , THIS SOB JUST TOOK MY MONEY. My 2 words on this don't support this small business. They will treat you like a theft. And there is better food out there. Go to the Le Cream located across from Target, which tastes way better than this hole in the wall place. read more

I come here every morning on my break and it's one of the best donut/pastry joints I've had. Coffee is always hot and fresh. I'm always in and out. The owners are super nice and polite. I highly suggest you get their meat pies. They come out of the oven around 5:30. read more

Although it appears to be new, this bakery has been around for years. Formerly known as Mr. Chau's donuts, Q Baking Corner is a family owned establishment that provides friendly customer service with a smile, and yummy sweet treats. I don't buy donuts often, but when I do on occasions to reward my students or for special occasions I come here! My daughter wanted donuts in lieu of a cake this year, so we got a dozen from QBC and stacked them up as a donut cake. As usualy the donuts were fresh and delicious! read more

The staffs are super friendly. They showed me around when I first came to the store and I was introduced to the meat pie for the savory pastries, almond cookies, honeycomb cake and casava cake for the sweet pastries. Their pate chaud looked stunning and they were flavorful with a light and crispy crust. The store always smells like freshly baked cookies, definitely coming back for more. read more

Something's amiss after the new remodel/change in ownership(?)... My regular raised donuts aren't glazed or baked the same and the Ham and Cheeses now come with jalapeños on the side instead of in the croissant (huh?) It remains family run, family oriented but it's off now. It won't be my lasting choice for morning treats anymore unless I'm desperate after a gas stop. Probably a good call too since I put on a little Holiday weight this year: better to spend those empty calories somewhere else. read more

This is the definition of a mom and pop's store. If you're looking for a family owned business to support, this place is it. The baked goods are great and terrific for the price. The staff, who consist of the family, are kind people. You'll often also find the kids working the register if you swing by after 3:00pm when school's over. The kids are adorable and it's clear that they put a lot of love into their family business. I'm a teacher who buys donuts for his students and I've been stopping by for about a year now. Usually once every 3 months. What's really great about this store is, after the first time I came in to buy donuts, the owners have never forgotten me. Ever since I bought that first batch of donuts for my students, the owner always asked me how my kids are doing and how things were at my school whenever I came in. Even her son now remembers me as "the teacher", even though we've only met a handful of times. Right before COVID-19 lockdown, I bought sweets and baked goods from here for my mom's birthday. That was all the way back in February. Last week (five months later) the owner asked me how my mom was doing when I came by again. It's more than just food here... even though the food is pretty great (My students definitely liked the sweets)! The shop has the all the charm you'd expect from a small family business. I hope it continues to do well. read more

I live pretty far away from this area, but whenever I have a chance to come to the near by area, I always stop by this bakery. I would say I love all of their baked goods and I think the flavor was influenced from France: flakey, buttery, savory and perfectly sweet. I especially love the cupcake pork sung (the one with salted egg yolk, chinese sausage, and shredded pork on top). It might sound strange, but you should give it a try. $2/each is not too expensive for a savory cupcake with cheese inside. Pate-so is also another bomb pastry. But you should call to order the pateso in advance if you plan to buy in a large amount. The owner and staff are very friendly. You should stop by if you wanna give a support to local stores. read more

I ordered this customize cake for the graduation day of my bf. It's so beautiful and my bf was very like it. I'm a fan of tiramisu, so I choose the tiramisu flavor which one of the most popular flavor of the shop. Tiramisu wasn't very sweet as same as another place I ordered. It had enough sweetness level for me. The owner was very friendly and nice. She was helpful to recommend for me to have a best cake. This cake was so amazing. This place has taken over mr.chaus. It's been redone and got a name change. I think it's still ran by the family, but they got a makeover to be more appealing. The donuts are still amazing. Prices are still the same as well. read more

Q made a special Mickey Mouse cake for my boy's first birthday. Her design was pretty and the price was reasonable too. She took her time explaining to me whether or not I should have fondant as the outer layer, and also advised which flavors combo would go well together. Why does this place have such a high rating. Go look at Mr.Chaus recent yelp reviews, THEYRE all talking about how this new donut shop sucks. They doNt know how to make donuts. Also they come with hair in them. read more

This place is an amazing find! I wanted to plan and host an afternoon Tea party, and wanted French pastries like Petit Fours and Macaroons and this place had the most delicious ones. We also got chocolate mouse cake, mango and raspberry cheesecake, savory pastries, taro cake! All were delectable and so yummy! Will be back! read more

I came here craving for donuts (always my go to donut shop) and when I came inside, they had pork pate chaud and it tasted exactly like what I remembered when I was a child. Weird but it felt like home. The woman who took my order was extremely so sweet and kind, we had some laughs and I love this place so much. Most definitely RECOMMEND. ALSO, all their pastries is a definite 100/10 (not exaggerated.) read more

Everyone knows this location for being a donut shop. You can still find donuts here but they are now more artisanal while being affordable. They have cupcakes, macaroons, cheesecakes and tiramisu. Today, I gladly tried their carrot cake bar. If you're into the type of carrot cake that has raisins and walnuts being present, you will like their rendition. read more

Stopped by Q Baking corner to pick up donuts. This was not the first time purchasing donuts here, but this time they were horrible. Had intended to just pick up a few donuts only but the guy at the store kept insisting we get a dozen to make it cost effective. We were like why not, help a local business. But when we got home and took a bite into the donut, we were full of regrets. The donuts were so dry, and tasted like they sat in the display for a few days. We've purchased day old donuts at the local supermarket before and they tasted better than these. We ended up throwing the box of donuts in the trash. The guy at the store must have desperately wanted to unload the donuts, would explain why he was so pushy about us buying a dozen. read more

This is a small business right around the corner of E Capitol Expy. The place is a bit poor represented in terms of foods displayed. Each time, I came in either foods are sold out or it wasn't available. I am not sure how it was being managed in the back end. How do they managed the supplies that always sold out? Even though I came in around noon time. If this business planning to run more efficient I think it needs better planning skills. The receipt always unclear on the items being charged. At first, I was very thrilled to support local businesses. I came to realized they are very poor in quality. I don't know how long their business will lasted because they don't have anything available in store. read more

I was surprised that Mr. Chau's Donut was replaced by Q Baking Corner because it was place filled with my childhood memories of going in the morning before school to grab breakfast and lunch. Q Baking Corner has not disappointed at all. I really love their array of cakes and desserts on top of the donuts and pastries that Mr. Chau previously served. I was skeptical at first because there are not a lot of bakeries in East San Jose that make amazing baked goods. However, their key lime cheesecake and macarons has become my family's favorites. Personally, I prefer their red velvet cake next to a glass of milk. The lady/owner has been extremely pleasant and a pleasure to engage with when I order. I cannot wait to come back and eat my way around this bakery! This is definitely going to be my go-to place for a last-minute dinner party gift, potluck dessert, a snack to treat myself after a long week, and everything in between. read more

I went in today to pick up donuts. It's National Donut Day so why not? 4 regular donuts set me back $6.25. I had been to this place before and had great donuts. Today was a huge disappointment. Not sure if it's due to business being slow with COVID, but the donuts were stale. All of them. Never again. One star for good customer service. read more

We stumble across this little bakery and order some fresh pate chow! It was freshly bake and smells fantastic!! The crust is spot on, flaky buttery and not dry at all or underdone!!! I haven't had such a satisfying chow in a long time!! If you are somewhere close, stop by!! The service was really nice too :) unfortunately we ate it so quick I totally forgot to take a picture :( read more

I got there on a Thursday morning right as they opened at 6am and there was already a line. It took about 15 min. to get to the counter to place my order. Stan's makes the donuts right there in the front of the shop, so they are completely fresh. I ordered one chocolate French cruller and one chocolate crème-filled glaze. The cruller was wonderful. Airy and soft with delicious chocolate on top. Should have ordered two of those. The chocolate crème-filled was not as good. It was too crispy on the outside and had too much warm crème inside. I might have liked it better if I hadn't first eaten the perfect cruller. Stan's only takes cash, but they have an ATM machine in the shop. There is a large shared parking lot. Phone orders must be placed 24 hours in advance. I'll be back for more crullers and to try an apple fritter, which are only served on Mondays.

The service was okay. I was greeted by both ladies at the counter and the worker who had assisted me seemed very attentive. I got a dozen cream filled donut holes which were 8.99. Our order came out in less than 10 minutes, even though there were many orders ahead of ours. I found the digital system to be interesting to watch while I waited for our drinks. My latte was very tasty and balanced. My partner's drip coffee was okay, nothing to write home about. Overall, nice coffee shop experience. Not sure if I would go out of my way to try it again, but it is worth it if you're in the area!

I love Matcha Town, so I was absolutely thrilled to see that one has opened up in my neighborhood. As mentioned in my other review of Matcha Town, I believe Matcha Town is from the same people that brought us Molly Tea, so branding, tea flavors, merchandise, and even ordering system are all familiar to me. This location quietly opened last month without much fanfare, and staff told me they'll have their grand opening sometime in June, which is also when they will offer their awesome gelato. I'm super excited for that, but in the meantime, you can enjoy their gelato cakes and drinks. Out of their gelato flavors, my favorites are the yuzu shiso and white champaca. They also have different levels of matcha intensity in their gelato to suit different tastes. I actually haven't tried drinks from Matcha Town yet since I really go there just for their gelato, but I would presume they're similar to Molly Tea since they did offer a few of the same drinks. Super excited to have a Matcha Town on this side of town. Now I can get my gelato fix much easier!

I highly recommend this place! I was in a panic because I planned my son's birthday last minute. I called two other bakeries to see if they would be able to do a cake, they both rejected me and said that it was too last minute. I called Q BAKING CORNER and they saved my son's birthday. Quyen helped me over for phone. She first asked if I could send over a picture to see if she would be able to do it. She messaged right back and told me it is doable and it will be ready in the afternoon the next day. Sent me a picture of the outcome and I was blown away! She did such an amazing job on my son's birthday cake. Quyen worked her magic and put a smile on my son's face. Not only was the service was amazing, the quality and work that they put in it is immaculate. The cake tasted so good too! I asked for strawberry flavor and the cake was so moist and delicious. I went to The Q Baking Corner to try their famous croissants and breakfast muffins. Whenever I'm around the area, I swing by Q Baking Corner to grab some treats for the fam. Can't resist their NY Cheesecake, Belgium Chocolate Cake, Red Velvet, and Creme Brulees.
