I hopped in here for a simple gel manicure. It was painful. Literal pain, she ripped away the skin causing 2 different spots to bleed. I should have left immediately and am still kicking myself for staying. Anytime she used a spray, remover, or anything with chemicals, it hurt. Nothing about it was relaxing or enjoyable. The end product is fine I guess, but she stopped shorter on the nail than I would have preferred so it already kind of looks like my nails have grown out. This was the worst manicure I've ever received in NYC. I got a gel, my friend got regular, and from the bubbles to the uneven-ness, paint caked to the sides and complete disregard for hangnails / even aiming to paint within the same neighborhood of my cuticle, it was just atrocious. Like immediate next errand is to CVS to pick up acetone-level of bad. If I could give them zero stars, I would've, but yelp would not let me post without giving at least one. read more

I came here on Sunday for a gel manicure as a walk in and by Tuesday it was already peeling on multiple nails. As shown in the photo, the polish is lifting at the edges after only two days. Gel manicures are supposed to last at least two weeks, not 48 hours. I'm really disappointed in the quality of the work, especially considering the price. Then my nail tech tried to upcharge me for taking off gel because she said it was not regular gel when it was. the whole manicure continued to be rushed and she was very rough. Then when going to pay the person at the front looked over my shoulder while I was paying and tipping and proceeded to comment on the amount I tipped. Bad experience overall. read more

QQ Gel Manicure was possibly one of the worst manicures I've ever had. I've probably had over 10 manicures/pedicures at QQ salons and this one was the sloppiest. Two of my nails have visible bubbles. Several look like puddles of uneven polish were spilled and spread around with a mop. The polish was not going on evenly. Instead of cleaning the brush, shaking the bottle, or suggesting a different color, the operator kept going. Her solution was to keep adding coats of polish. I'm concerned that when it comes time to remove the product, it's going to be difficult to remove and damage my nails. It's going to need to be redone in the next few days. I really liked this place - price was reasonable ($48 mani/pedi with 15% off), the place was super clean and beautifully designed, but I couldn't give it a 5-star as the job felt rushed and my nails chipped the next day. Maybe I will return for the gel manicure to see how long that would last. Also the foot scrub could use some improvement - it felt rough the same night I got home. Cute little nail salon in Chelsea. I went here for a girls night with two friends this weekend and we had such a nice time. The staff was very kind and welcoming. The prices are extremely reasonable, too. You can get a regular manicure for $18 (so cheap!) or the Melloway Manicure for $35: they bathe your hands with a green tea extract gentle scrub, relax you with a hand massage, and then apply your nail polish of choice. Only giving 2 stars instead of 1 because it was fairly cheap and I got a nice massage. I honestly wished I hadn't even paid when I saw how awful a job the nail tech did. She cut my cuticles so painfully and left blood on my finger. She filed my nails into different shapes and lengths. When I asked her to fix it she did not really do much. I realized when I left that the color was uneven and she didn't buff the tips of my nails so it was all rough underneath. The whole thing was rushed and poorly done. Hm. I always passed this place by on the way home and the decor always caught my curiosity so I decided to book a hands and feet day spa. The place is very clean. You fill out forms prior to your appointment in compliance with COVID which is nice. Although it appears they accept walk-ins sometimes. I chose a nail polish for my foot that was apparently another 10 dollars extra due to its longevity. The lady who applied it to my toes didn't do such a great job at all. And she was rough cutting my cuticles, it was painful to be honest. I'm not sure if she's new but ...yeah. She also informed me of a five minute massage that's complimentary. She briefly massaged my legs then turned off the timer lol The hands, she did an ok job. She was rough cutting the cuticles once again. The hands were ok because you really can't go wrong with powder nails . The lady at the front desk who greets people , I feel like she is the expert but unfortunately , I didn't get to see her work. I wouldn't recommend this place even with the 15 percent off. I've had this exact SNS color done at nail salons in worse neighborhoods that did an excellent job, toes included. Moral of the story ? I came here for SNS and was sorely disappointed. By the time I left, my nails were all different lengths, my skin had been cut off around my nails and I somehow still had cuticles. Also, my SNS was the sloppiest job if ever seen. I get SNS every two weeks and tried this place because my tried and true nail tech from another salon is on maternity leave. Big mistake. I should have left when the nail tech here pulled out a METRO CARD to try to shove under my existing SNS to pop it off. She also used a dremel and hit my nail bed so bad it hurt and I jumped away. Further, when putting on the new SNS, she skipped the final SNS coat and didn't cure it, instead seemingly putting gel polish over the matte top of the SNS, so now I'm stuck with nails that have random matte spots, because she had no attention to detail, and my nails aren't hard like they normally are with SNS and are almost gummy feeling. PLUS she didn't even get the SNS to my cuticle and left me with a huge gap right off the bat. See the below pic to see how bad my fingers turned out. Great experience today at the newly opened Melloway. Boyfriend and I went in for pedicures and the ladies who work here were lovely/super sweet! Everything was very clean, and I felt safe (temp taken when you check in, and you have physical dividers between seats and between you and staff; everyone wears masks). Pedicures cost $50 for 2 after their 15% current promo (note discount not predicated on the 2). Their basic still includes a short foot/calf massage, typical foot soak and scrub, but I think they have a more luxurious version too if desired. I personally didn't think I needed it- my feet still felt so pampered from the basic (so smooth/fresh- I'd take a pic but I feel weird posting photos of my feet to Yelp ha). read more

Honestly so disappointed in this place. I was a regular here for a while, maybe like three months ago, and used to get designs here all the time. I recently went a week ago and the customer service has worsened immensely, the quality of the service is disappointing, and the overall experience is not something I will be back for. I was denied any sort of nail design and got the bare minimum. Also let me mind you the new receptionist is rude and hung up the phone in me the first time I called for an appointment. Had such a great experience here! I had an appointment for 1pm on a weekday & there were 4 people working in total. Didn't have to wait at all & Susanna went straight to work. One of the cleanest SNS manicures I've ever gotten!! She thoroughly cleaned my cuticles and made sure the powder wasn't too thick by taking her time to file down each nail and using the electric nail drill to smooth everything out. Often times, my powder nails would crack because the coat is too thick- not this time!! A bonus is that they also give you a back massage with every manicure! I recently moved to the area and tried this place as i needed to get my nails done to attend a wedding. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. I got a pedicure which was fine overall, but the scrub they used is not as good as elsewhere and the towel was cold. Where i was really disappointed was my manicure. Many of my cuticles were left a bit ragged and one was actually cut so badly that 4 days later there was still a mark. I'm on day 5 now and the gel on two nails is peeling off already. read more

From not acknowledging my presence when I walked in (until I had to ask "Can any of you give me an ETA on the next appointment??") to 11 minutes later when a White woman walked in and was warmly greeted by a chorus of manicurists to my manicurist shooing me out the door when I told her my nails were not dry (of course, they smudged 2 minutes later) to the fact that I had been there before and overtipped at least 3 of these ladies on my 5+ previous visits, this experience was completely unacceptable. The convenience of this place being less than half a block from my house no longer matters. I will hike over to 8th Avenue and find a non-QQ nail salon. DO NOT GO HERE. The staff (or at least the main two ladies I have interacted with) are so rude and they lie. They over charge for the poor quality of their work. I have now had two instances where I got gel manicures that have started chipping and peeling within 2 days of getting them (and were also poorly done). Most recently, I asked for them to either refund me or redo the nails - they settled on redoing the nails with gel, but no design if I came back that weekend. I came back on two different days at different times and was told they were too busy (but wouldn't let me make an appointment), then went back on Monday and they made a huge fuss and said I waited to long to come back and wouldn't do anything. Asked for a refund for the crappy manicure that was 70$, they said best they could do was give me a regular manicure. Told them no, I wanted a refund. Then they offered me a gel manicure. Told them no. Finally I just asked for a receipt so I could submit and they said "no, we can not share that will you." This has happened to both me and friends. Go anywhere else but this place. They are rude, don't do a high quality job, and have the worst customer service. read more
