This is the second time I've needed them to take care of a relative small repair. We had someone…read morehit the back bumper and drive off. Our insurance company had us take it to their "approved" body shop an get an estimate. There estimate was several hundred dollars less than Colorado coach. Having worked at a dealership for over 50 years and did my own body work in my younger years as a hobby I'm very familiar with how difficult it is to paint a pearlescent tricoat bumper and have it match the body which is metal. When I went to the "approved" body shop I noticed there were almost no cars in their lot for repairs and I only saw a couple of employees in the shop. When I talked to the person writing the estimate I asked how long their painter had been with them and I was told two months that was a huge red flag. The painter at Colorado coach has been with them since they opened. Sean Robertson who wrote the estimate at Colorado coach said they do work with my insurance company. He did an amazing job getting my insurance company to cover their higher estimate and some expensive hidden damage. Which meant it took a little longer getting the car back than originally estimated. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a superior paint match and repair work to use them. PS. The receptionist has always been so very knowledgeable and always a pleasure to work with.

But if you have any urgency to getting your car back, you'll need to be proactive. After stopping by for a quick estimate, I brought it in expecting it to take 1-2 weeks; it took 10 full weeks. They discovered additional damage in stages, and it seemed they just sent off the update to insurance and waited to hear back, not following up unless I did, and it seemed to help when I connected some dots.

Not sure how perfect my car is after repair, but the cost I paid for car rental plus my car depreciation cost more than the cash car value. I AM STUPIED TO GET THEIR SERVICES for a trash value.

Needless to say, car repair can be a complex and polarizing issue, so this is just one experience to relay... In summary, I would be extremely wary of Global Collision as it seems they are using the age of my car and "prior damage" as an excuse not to complete repairs directly related to my accident. If you're interested, see the following for the painful detail.... If you have a fancy, brand new lotus or some similar luxury car, I am sure that Global would do a great job. They are certified to work on many luxury cars that no other shops around hold certifications and have many recommendations in that arena. However, if you are like me and happen to have an older (2001) Toyota instead of a Lotus (I know, life just isn't fair sometimes, right?), I would categorically NOT recommend this shop. They refuse to fix a dangerous wheel shimmy that started (according to them, entirely coincidentally) immediately following my accident because they claim "prior damage" to my car indicates that the shimmy actually was happening before my accident. Full disclosure: Yes, my car had been in an accident several years ago prior to my owning it. There are some issues with it that I am consciously NOT asking the shop to repair because I am not trying to take advantage of the situation. No, my car has never shimmied like this before the accident. Bearing in mind this was a full-on broadside of my little convertible by a commercial vehicle: They've completed an alignment, but will not do anything else to correct this mechanical problem that still persists. I STILL cannot drive my car on the highway, they have absolved themselves of responsibility using the excuse that this was "probably" already happening before the accident (essentially calling me - their client - a liar), and my only recourse is to appeal with State Farm. As any of you who have been involved with wrangling an insurance company know - yippee!! That sounds like fun and I am sure that I will get this all resolved and have my car back to the condition it was in before the accident in a jiffy! (note the dripping sarcasm). The Service Manager is great with the rote CSM jargon ("we're here for you", etc.) but since they haven't actually repaired my car yet, and don't seem to even feel that it is their responsibility to, I can only interpret these statements as empty. Altogether, a fully dissatisfying experience.
