I only went here because my grandmother recommended it. Sorry to say , but she's been getting shafted by these people at Quality Tune Up/Shop #42 for many years! I had a 1998 Saturn what you needed new head gaskets. Not a tough task. The manager was the most unprofessional, unfriendly, dishonest mechanic that I've ever come across. This may sound stupid, but you definitely did not like dealing with women. Especially a women who questioned where half of my original tire bolts are missing. I do not yell off. But I've had enough of this guy's attitude. We spent 3 hours, after hours, waiting for them put my car back together. They had call Vee that morning to let me know my car was finished. Only the mechanic had to go to Saturn dealership to get certain car pieces that they had lost. How do you lose car parts? Finally the car was bolted back together but it still overheating and smoking. I am in disbelief at how I was treated. You just do not handle customer service that way. The owner actually yells at me and my adult kids. So I had witnesses to how badly this whole thing went. They are out to sell you unneeded repairs. They prey on women in elderly people. I ended up having to go here last week after signing escrow papers because a few of my cars lights had been flashing, I woke up with a low tire that day And I had to have my car smog tested at a Star Smog station this year. I've been to this shop a few times for random service - mainly oil changes. My brakes were making an awful squeaking and grinding noise. My first inclination was that there was something stuck in the caliper, so I brought my 4Runner in on a Saturday morning. Quality inspected the brakes, said the there were plenty of pad left on all brakes. When I asked about the noise, they said they couldn't find anything wrong but would clean the brakes. When I leased my new car last year, I researched places to get my oil changed because I wanted somewhere that was reliable, efficient and a good rate. After taking my old car to Jiffy Lube and paying way too much, I decided to come to Quality Tune-Up. The reviews were great and the price was reasonable. Today is my second time coming and I came in with a coupon, but was offered a different coupon with a better price. I've been here twice the first time was great the second time they forgot to put the oil cap back on which resulted in an oil leak on my driveway as well as all over my engine. Additionally, one of my sensor lights indicating there was a problem ticked on. When I spoke with management (Greg), they told me to bring the car in to make sure oil wasn't lost and to clean the engine. I gladly obliged. When I took the car in they told me everything was fine and "cleaned" my engine and reset my engine sensors. I drove the car home that day and put a piece of cardboard under it was well as monitored it throughout the day. When my car continued to leak oil, I once again called Greg who said everything would be fine, it was just excess oil dripping off after they had cleaned it. The next day I drove to Fresno, after receiving a call from my girlfriend that my car had "leaked oil down to the sidewalk", I knew there was a problem. I ended up taking my car to Rocklin Foreign Car to have it inspected . Sure enough, not only had the "mechanic" tightened the drain cap so tightly that it snapped the washer, he also knocked off a hose that caused my engine sensor to go off. The folks at Rocklin Foreign Car told me "It looked like someone googled how to do an oil change and still failed at it". Armed with this new knowledge, I called up Greg who offered me several oil changes to make up for this mistake. At this point, I wouldn't trust a radio flyer wagon with them, so I declined and instead asked for a reimbursement of costs. As of this writing I have emailed Greg 3 times with my invoice and called the shop several times only to be assured it would be taken car of. Off to small claims court we go! read more

I brought my wifes car in today, the day before Thanksgiving without an appointment, and they still had me out within half an hour. Online coupon saved me 12 dollars and total after tax was only 21.45. You can also bring in your own synthetic oil and they will still only charge you the basic 19.95 with online coupon. I'm not sure how to feel about this place. About a month ago I went in for a synthetic oil change and cabin filter replacement. The total was about $85 which seemed pretty high. Oh well, lesson learned, I'll shop around for a better price next time. Today was the kicker though. Was out running errands and the battery died in my 2012 Scion XD. I got a jump from a Good Samaritan and went straight to Quality Tune Up to get a diagnostic and was prepared to buy a new battery. The battery was dead, said they could replace it within 30-40 minutes and quoted me $285 but discounted the labor a bit, making it $233. Um, no. Called Roseville Toyota, they quoted me $129.90 for the battery installed. $100 cheaper at the dealership???? I text my dad just to let him know and the second I told him Quality's price on the battery, he simply texted me "Leave". So I did, got my keys and left. The young man at the desk told me their battery is that expensive because they need to mark it up over $100 to make the service worthwhile. I guess it is worth noting that I am a 25 year old female, and I definitely look young. I've never had an issue with my age and appearance playing into a markup on price in the auto world, but I think that might be the case at Quality Tune Up. Pretty disappointing. Weird place, expensive service, won't go back. I'd advise you to call around after getting a quote from them. read more

Best shop in the Roseville/ Rocklin area! I've been coming here for about 3 years now and have never had any issues, and all the employees are extremely friendly! The one time I went to another shop for an oil change I was taken advantage of for being a young girl and overcharged $40. Everytime I have come in for an early oil change, I wait in my car until they open and they have always took note of where i was in line. One time someone tried to say they were there before me, and i didn't care too much about it, but the employee insisted that i keep my spot and I was there first, which was super nice. read more

We gave been taking our vehicles to this center for almost 10 years and yes, we have seen the change in ownership and at first were not concerned. But for the last year, the quality of workmanship and customer service has frankly plummeted. Six months ago we brought in our Kia Sorento for brakes to save a few dollars over our ol' faithful Midas. Well, we got what we paid for... they were squeaking as we drove away and when that became intolerable, we brought it back. The manager explained that it was probably because of our driving habits that they were wearing unevenly. Live and learn... we then took it to Midas who, after looking at the brake system and said that it appeared that there were indeed new pads but that the rotors had not been turned. This brings me to the incident yesterday. Bringing my Jeep Wrangler in to get an oil change (yes, they still do those quite well) I asked for my normal tire rotation which they do for an additional $15. While waiting for the car and shopping nearby, they call me to say that the tire rotation will instead be $49. That's 50% MORE that the oil change alone INCLUDING OIL! The explanation was that my wheels take a long time to remove because of the screw-on hub caps. I said that was absurd as I can remove the caps in thirty seconds with a drill driver. That was the last time! I really like promoting local businesses and dislike posting bad reviews but please, regarding Quality Tune Up on Douglas Blvd. in Roseville... buyer beware! read more

Sadly things have changed here at quality tune up. My dad and I had been going there for many years and ever since management changed (some time in 2017/2018) we have not been back. The last straw was since my car had a check engine light come up after an oil change. I took it back and they claimed it was an issue that had nothing to do with them, although my car had no issues whatsoever prior to the oil change. They were charging me to fix it and they were even trying to charge me for fixing the problem if I bought my own part. Very disappointed and they were not empathetic at all. They then tried to sell me a tranny fluid flush on a brand new truck with less than 30,000 miles. This was a great experience, for an oil change. I'm used to slick guys trying to sell me overpriced services I don't need. Not here. I was cracking up at the other happy customers. One guy came in for a small adjustment that he and Quality agreed was not quality fault, no charge said the guy at the counter " we just want our customers happy". They git me right in and out.
