Went to celebrate my birthday, and while it was fun having someone grill for us, the overall experience wasn't anything crazy. Given all the hype, I expected something mind-blowing. There's definitely a lot of clout around this place and it makes for a good "have you been to Quarters?" conversation starter. Beyond that, there's not much reason to visit as you can get an unlimited meat selection with comparable quality across the street. Ooookay Quarters I see you! It's been a hot spot at Chapman Plaza for ages and when I say hot spot, I mean expect it to be packed, rowdy and loud at this KBBQ. There's a lot of good at Quarters, they have a full bar people can go up to while waiting for their table which is nice for people. They have TVs all over so if you want to see the World Cup or Dodgers game, they'll surely be playing it here. A great thing is they DO take reservations, a rarity in KBBQs in the city. Keep in mind that doesn't mean immediate seating, tables still need to turn so if you have kids, you could be waiting 20 minutes post ressie time like my group did last week. Now the food was great! I would put their eats squarely in the middle of the mid-price-range Korean BBQs in the city. A surprising highlight was their corn cheese which felt a bit more creamy than other spots! I enjoyed their marinades and meats for this price point and they cooked all our meat for us. Our server did get scolded at one point for letting our meat burn a bit, but it wasn't too bad and didn't effect things much. I was also surprised how much I loved their banchans! That broccoli and potato salad and I also love when a place has rice paper! My favvvvvvvv~! I was kind of surprised they didn't replace any of our banchans when we ran out, however when we asked they did give us more without issue. I think we might have had a new server helping us, so all good. Overall, enjoyed all the food and especially their banchans! If the loud and fun atmosphere is your style, you'll love Quarters! Really solid Korean bbq place. We came around 2:30 pm and the place was packed with people. You can make reservations on resy beforehand which is convenient. We did combo 2 which came with pork jowl, bulgogi, short rib, and beef belly. They threw in a bunch of complementary items as well which was nice. Quarters is a popular KBBQ spot in Koreatown that I've been hearing about and I finally visited for the first time. The quality of meat is great and I love the flavors and textures of the cuts! My party of 4 ordered a Large Combo which came with a variety of beef and pork options and a kimchi or soybean stew. The portions were smaller than I expected, but still filling, maybe more for a party of 3 than 4 people. The ribeye was tender and the marinated short rib was delicious! The cut of the pork belly and pork jowl made a difference for me, it was on thick side which I personally prefer. But I would have to say, I'm not a fan of the spicy pork jowl. Went to Koreatown to check out a popular KBBQ spot called Quarters. Their menu is à la carte but they have combos you can order. I ordered combo 2 which was $105 but comes with 4 different meats, banchan and your choice of a soup. The meats included, beef belly, pork jowl, short rib and bulgogi. All the meats were tender and seasoned well. The meal comes with 4 sauces that included brisket sauce, salt, chimichurri and a spicy sauce. The servers here cook for you so you don't have to. Just sit back to relax and enjoy your meal. Once one meat is done they will move it to the side and begin cooking the next meat. There is really no down time so we finished the meal in about 1 hour. Parking can be tough but the lot in the back is $10. I have found meter parking when I came here so try circling around or going one back away. read more

We came here early on a Friday afternoon, so it was totally empty :) My husband and I shared the beef combo, which comes with brisket, rib eye, and grilled bulgogi, along with some vegetables and your choice of kimchi or soybean stew (we picked kimchi). The meat quality was pretty good and I love that they grill the meat for you here! The brisket tasted pretty standard, but the bulgogi was surprisingly really good. I like how thinly sliced and perfectly marinated it was. My favorite side was their salad, which had a refreshing, flavorful dressing. The kimchi stew was way too salty in my opinion, so we only ate a few bites of it. My husband really liked their spicy pancake side dish (no idea what it's actually called, lol). The interior was huge with lots of tables. Our server was polite and efficient with cooking our meats. Outright Incredible! I was here last night celebrating the beginning of my CSUN career with some of my high school classmates who I am still in touch with to this day. We ordered the Jumbo and the Large combo for each side of our party of 10 people. Each came with the kimchi or soybean stews which were very umami flavored, and well seasoned. Tried Quarters, a true LA staple, and overall thought it was pretty good. It was not the best KBBQ I've had in LA, but the meat was definitely quality and some cuts stood out more than others. It is a bit pricey, though, and while we made a reservation, we still had to wait around 10 minutes for a table. The waiting area was packed and so was the restaurant, which took away from the appeal a little at the start. That said, the large combo was more than enough food for three people and overall the meal was solid. I trusted the recommendation, and that turned out to be one of the biggest dining disappointments I've ever had. I spent **nearly $300 on dinner**, plus **another $20 for parking**, and walked away with one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. First, every single employee looked like they absolutely hated being there. They all seemed angry, annoyed, and completely uninterested in customers. I greeted people--no response. I said "thank you" multiple times--no response. Not a single smile. No appreciation. No "enjoy your meal," no "have a nice evening," nothing. Basic hospitality was completely nonexistent. The service was beyond terrible. If you need something, don't expect to get it the first time you ask. Or the second. Or even the third. We literally had to ask **at least five times** before anyone brought what we requested. Honestly, it would probably be faster to walk into the kitchen and get it yourself. Better yet, bring everything you might need from home. And let's talk about the noise. This place is **louder than most nightclubs**. If you're planning to have a conversation with the people you're dining with, forget it. We couldn't hear each other for most of the meal. It wasn't until we walked outside that we could finally have a normal conversation. Eating here felt more like surviving a loud concert than enjoying dinner. As if that wasn't enough, don't forget to bring **$20 for parking**. And the parking attendant? Easily the most unfriendly person we encountered that night. I think my expectations were too high knowing everyone raved about this being their favorite kbbq place and the fact that they were recognized in the Michelin guide last year. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but it didn't blow me away either. We ordered Combo 2 which came with beef belly, seasoned boneless short rib, pork jowl, and grilled bulgogi. All were good except the last one -- it was sweet and didn't have the typical bulgogi taste, possibly because they use a unique recipe for the marinade. They cook everything for you, so all you have to do is watch and eat. The combo came with your choice of kimchi or soybean stew, vegetable skewer, cheese, and kimchi pancake. That's more than enough for two or even three people, but just for fun, we got extra sides. We ordered the corn cheese, steamed egg, and cold kimchi rice noodle. I think the only one really worth it out of these three was the steamed egg. I wouldn't get the others again. Our server was really great though which made the experience a lot better considering it was so difficult to hear what the other person was saying with the loud music playing in the background. He cooked the meat well, and checked in on us often. We had a reservation made for a Tuesday evening so the check-in process was pretty seamless and we were in within 5 minutes. I haven't been to Quarters in years and wow it's just as good as I remember. I got the beef combo to split with a friend and it was more than enough food! I think if I split this with 3 people it would've been perfect. I love that the combo comes with a soup, and I got a surprise kimchi pancake I wasn't expecting! Some might like that because if you're hungry, you get to have some little bites right away, but I personally prefer to dine out at a more relaxed pace. Their meat was excellent, perfect balance of fat and they cook the meat in front of you really well. Loved their Banchan (Korean sides) and kimchi, I only wish they gave more of it! For my birthday, one of my best friends sent me a gift card for a meal at Quarters Korean BBQ. We made a reservation through Resy for a Friday night. I highly recommend making a reservation because this place gets really packed and the wait for a table can be up to an hour almost every night. Parking is also a pain in this area but luckily we managed to find free street parking, which was a miracle for a Friday night. Upon arriving, we let the host know, and despite having reservations, we were asked to wait in their outdoor sitting area, and we were told that it would be a longer wait to sit inside, so we picked the outdoor sitting area, which was fine because it was a lovely warm night. It took the waiter about 10-15 mins to put together water cups and all sides, so I guess we could've just sat inside, but at this point, we just decided to sit outside. We picked combo 2, which included the beef belly, pork jowl, beef short ribs, and bulgogi. Our favorites were the bulgogi and beef short ribs. They were great quality and super juicy, and also loved the sweet marinade they both had. We also ordered some rice and corn cheese. Corn cheese was cheesy and delicious as well. Combo 2 also came with a choice of soup and a bunch of side dishes and salads which were all very tasty. Overall, it was a good meal but our waiter was not friendly at all, not even a smile, and didn't explain any of the meats, and also didn't let us know when they were ready for us to eat. He just came by a few times turned the meat around and left. If the service would have been better I would have 100% given this place 5 stars. I know a lot of people love the combo sets, but I'll admit it: I'm not a bulgogi person (hot take, I know). I definitely judge KBBQ spots by their banchan and sauces, and Quarters does not disappoint. The spread included salad, rice paper, broccoli slaw, and classics like kimchi. Sauce-wise, they had the essentials: salt (with sesame oil if you want), a spicier (gochujang?) sauce, and a brisket-style sauce that paired really well with the meats. For meat, we ordered the pork jowl, which is always a must for me--less fatty than pork belly with a great bite (9.5/10). The beef belly has become a new favorite, and we chose it over brisket. Super tender and flavorful (9/10). The boneless beef short rib was another standout--thicker cut, juicy, and cooked beautifully (9/10). I'll say it again: the quality of meat here is excellent. LA has no shortage of great KBBQ, but when you compare price to quality, Quarters is absolutely top tier. For drinks, we shared a few bottles of zero-sugar soju, some Terra beer, and Sprite (yes, we made Milkis shots--look it up if you don't know, they're delicious). We also got an order of corn cheese, which was exactly what it should be: rich, comforting, and very satisfying. Service is fast but still friendly. We had about a 20 min wait here with a designated fireplace and outside bar which is perfect for waiting. We got a text message once the table was getting cleaned and then other microphone call out once the table was ready. They have both combo meals and then à la carte where you by it by the quarter lb (hence the name). not all you can eat but you can get full. We got combo 2 with 4 different meats that service 2-3 people. it was a little over $100 for that combo. We got to also try the Kim chi soup and Kim chi pancake. We also got a bottle of Soju to share. The service by our waitress Aira Haemi was excellent! Every time I've tried to go to Quarters, there was a huge wait and I bailed to go elsewhere. Not this time! I stuck it out and managed to get a spot with my group of four: it was worth it. Service was speedy, with the staff quickly getting us seated, taking our initial orders and getting the side dishes arrayed all over our table. Interior is spacious, somewhat dimly lit but with focused lights on the grills and a good variety of table sizes. There's also a small outdoor area for the bar, which I've gone to many times (while waiting to get in). The drinks here are good, though nothing super special for what you can find in Koreatown. Ambiance is lively/loud, and nothing like the more premium/super modern KBBQ spots in LA, so be prepared to speak on the louder side if the chatter volume increases. My group went all in on the beef, going with the large combination and going for seconds on the bulgogi before we ran out of stomach space. I'm glad we didn't go with the jumbo combo, as a table next to us got it and it looked like it could feed maybe eight people. The beefs were all top notch for KBBQ, well marinaded, and with Quarters using different grill types (wire mesh vs slot) as needed, and the staff were attentive with changing out the grill when needed which were pluses. Banchan were fine with a good selection to complement the meats. I took an Uber her for this visit. There's parking nearby (medium sized parking lot), though it was a pain the last time I tried finding a spot and ended up walking to Quarters from further away. My LA friends in the group who frequent Quarters mentioned they've raised their menu prices over the years. I'm glad I got to finally visit Quarters. This was a great KBBQ experience. read more

I've been to lots of kbbq spots around ktown but this one definitely stands out. The service is incredible, they come around and help cook the meat. The space is very open with good airflow which I've found to be a problem at other Kbbq places. There is a $10 vallet lot around the corner which is helpful on busy ktown nights. This place also doesn't take reservations, but I went last minute on a Friday night and they were able to seat a table of two in minutes! We came here two nights ago around 8pm. Checked into the waitlist with the staff at the podium (located next to the bar). The wait was relatively short; we waited for about 20 minutes. I really liked the banchan here. They were all seasoned very well, from the sweet mashed potato to the broccoli. I loved that they give you rice paper. Not all kbbq places have this. I love wrapping the meats in rice paper. They provided three different sauces - pesto, some kind of spicy sauce, and salt. I mostly just used the salt. We got the Combo 2 and the Premium Beef Bone In Short Rib. This was a lot of food for two people. The combo alone would've been more than enough food for us, because the combo also came with soup (choice between kimchi or soybean). All of the meats were good. I particularly really liked the Beef Belly, which was thinly sliced. Our griller and server was Wookie. They were very attentive and provided great service. While the restaurant itself is a little loud, and service was okay, the quality of food made this one of the best kbbq experiences I've had. We ordered the wagyu set, and shared it between 2 people. Everything was phenomenal. Soup was delicious, ribeye steak was extremely tender. But what really stuck out to me was the bulgogi; this bulgogi was a little sweeter than normal, but in the best possible way, and will haunt me for a long time. The restaurant was relatively empty during lunchtime, but they still had music playing quite loud, to the point where I had trouble hearing the servers. Service was fine; the staff definitely knew how to grill the meat. They were able to touch it with the tongs, and just know when the meat was cooked and ready to eat. They were a little more soft spoken, didn't speak much to us. It might be a personal preference, but I prefer a little more engagement, especially if you're kind of hovering by our table to grill the meat for us. We had a group of five and ordered the large combo along with beef tongue and boneless beef short rib. The meat quality is solid, and one of the best parts is that they cook everything for you, so you can just relax and enjoy. They're also great about refilling the banchan and give you a side of cheese for dipping your meats, which is a nice touch. Service was excellent, and overall it's a reliable go-to for KBBQ with good quality and consistency. Upscale Korean Bbq with excellent meat quality and cocktails! (Finally, a place I can get a good Martini) Went with a party of 6 for a Sunday brunch and had a blast! Service was not too friendly, but did come around to help with the cutting and cooking of meat. This being my first time at Quarters, I wasn't really informed about all the sides that they had. I will say the broccoli crunch salad and starter salad were excellent! Standout proteins were the bulgogi and the teriyaki chicken, though everything was excellent! This spot is definitely on the pricey side, but worth it when you're looking for a quality place in a modern environment. This place came highly recommended and what a huge letdown. Don't waste your money coming here. So many amazing Korean bbq places around and this is NOT one of them. It was my first experience having someone cook my meat for me and she did not ask how I wanted my meat cooked and kept urging us to eat because it was "ready". When our last meat was cooked they just took off the stove and it ended up getting cold before we even finished. They dropped the check as well before we were even done eating. **TLDR** Tasty, high-quality meats, not the best parking, and definitely not easy to have conversation because of the loud music - an a la carte spot that almost screams AYCE environment sans uncovered bar area near entrance. Note: Keep an eye on your meat; the server may burn a slice or two! Also there is a THREE ITEM MINIMUM, so ready those tummies! - - - - - - Quarters had been on my mind for maybe 10 years; I've always heard the best things from here, and I have to admit the hype is warranted. I visited Quarters with a friend on a weekday night, and after finding parking ($10 / $15 options nearby), we were seated within 15 minutes. Our server came by to quickly mix our noodle salad, set our sides, and take our orders. We weren't hungry but were informed that there was a 3 item limit... so we had their beef brisket, tongue, and short ribs. Of course, at these prices, the server grilled all the meats for us. However, our server was also between tables, and at times, we noticed that the meats were burnt. At this price point, one burnt piece is quite sad because there isn't much to begin with. Nonetheless, the meats we did eat were all of high quality. We started with the beef brisket, a go-to KBBQ appetizer, and these being a tad thicker and of higher quality were well enjoyed with the dipping sauces: a basil pesto olive oil-like sauce, a tangy sweet potato-tasting one, salt (+ sesame oil), and a wasabi pepper soy sauce combo. To be frank, they were all delicious in their own way, and with maybe 6 briskets each of us, I alternated between the dipping sauces. Our next was the beef tongue; while there were not many slices, they were definitely a thicker cut than the AYCE places. Each tasted amazing, and once again, I couldn't decide between the sauces so I continued alternating. With the marinated beef short rib, it was already flavorful enough, so this didn't need sauce. We also had mac and cheese, but the mac and cheese was potentially a bit too much cheese and not enough mac. (I was also sad thinking that this was corn cheese and not mac and cheese.) Overall, not a hit for me. Environment wise, I was surprised when I got home that I barely smelled of smoke. Perhaps this is due to the literally open environment bar, allowing the smoke to escape. However, this also surprised me because having conversation inside was difficult. The music was fairly loud, so if you're considering this for a date... it might be worth checking elsewhere. read more
