The service was awesome Angelina, who seated us, was super friendly and welcoming, and our server John was amazing the whole night. He was really chill, super helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed. What an awesome evening at the new and beautiful Que Pasa. Love the decor. Very upscale and classy. No sombreros or sarapes here. Modern Mexican. I love it. Now the food? It was fantastic. We had spicy guacamole, served in a molcajete. Nice touch. The Birra Tacos made with short rib, meat tender and melted in my mouth. Yummy. The consomé was very flavorful. Nice splitter. Now for the main dish. Sizzling Enchiladas. Angus Beef for us. Chicken is another option. 2 large corn tortillas, covered in chitpotle cream sauce. Oh my! It was nice to see a few new faces but we were happy to see familiar ones too!! Jazmin and Morfin in the Bar, mixing up beautiful drinks. I must mention that I'm on a Gluten free diet. I was a surprised at the many options. Very busy this Friday. Make reservations. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Jeaneth was our server and she was exceptional! Take out: Ordered Fajitas and chicken enchiladas. Upon opening the container there was a slight smell from the Fajitas and the veggies were soggy, against my better judgment, I ate some. I went during lunchtime and ordered the combo fajitas (chicken and steak), the meat was dripping with grease, the veggies had no flavor because they were coated with grease. We couldn't eat it. After a long flight, we stopped in for Mexican food and a margarita for my wife. Instead of a warm welcome, the bartender Jasmine was rude and handed my wife her drink with clear attitude and disrespect. It left a bad taste before we even started eating. We came here for a business lunch with an out of town provider. I guess they don't officially open until Friday, but they are having a soft opening. The service was good and the Horchata was good as well. When it was time to order I just went basic and had the cheese enchiladas. Others in my group had fajitas, taco salad, steak, and sizzling enchiladas. Everyone's food looked really good. I started to eat my Enchilada and it tasted goods but the third bite I saw a little black strand peaking out. I went to see what it was and pulled out a 9 inch to 12 inch hair. It obviously made me pretty sick and didn't want to keep eating. I told the waiter and he was apologetic and said he wanted to get his manager. The manager just said "who has the hair" I told him that I had the plate with the hair and showed him the hair that was still sticking out. He just took the plate and walked away. It upset me a little, he didn't apologize or say anything about it. It seemed like I was upsetting them because I pointed out the hair in my food? I get it that they are brand new, but it's not my fault I had the hair in my food. As I'm writing this the waiter comes out and tells us as he hands the bill "we took off his food for the inconvenience ...." They say it like it's a big deal that they were giving us something. Why would I pay for the plate I took 3 bites out of and found a foot long hair???? We weren't looking or asking for anything free, I just wanted an authentic apology and the manager to say "awe man, I am so sorry that happened. Obviously we strive for much better than that, can we make you something knew or do something for you." My answer would have been "no problem, accidents happen, but I lost my appetite, but appreciate it. I would have then not wrote any review and just held my tongue for next time. If I could give zero stars I would.My friend and I ate there Thursday and the service was terrible 1 waitress for the busy lunch crowd. I ordered the moljacta it came out too hot the steak looked like ground beef I could distinguish the chicken from the queso the side of rice I ordered was cold and they forgot my tortillas. I ate a small portion my friend's food was also cold.She only ate one taco.The best part about her plate was the beans because they were lukewarm! I left early and my friend stayed and paid the bill.I became violently ill I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager.I spoke to the manager and explained to her.What had happened that?If I could please get the owner to call me to this point.The owner has not recommend eating at que pasa at all since they have moved from the marketplace, the service and the food has really went downhill. I walked into this restaurant with the high hopes of being met with a smile and great food . I've been craving their veggie burrito FOREVER . I wasn't greeted with a smile but with more of confused staff. Hardly a "hello" or any acknowledgement. I was seated and there were about 3 tables total in the restaurant, I sat for about 15min before I even realized who my server was because- once again , no introduction from the staff other than me being sat down . For 15min I watched the manager on duty stay hyper focused on wiping tables down and wiping chairs as if it was his main goal in life to have that streak free table (major eye roll coming in ) . Never did he make eye contact with me , he went to other tables to pre bus and give a quick greet also gave a table a refill. FINALLY Alijah came to my table to give me chips & Salsa after he realized my original server had abandoned me after a menu was put down and I was just left there . Alijah absolutely deserves 5 stars for his server attentiveness & positive attitude . He swiftly took my order and made sure I had everything I needed. Super sweet kid & great service . I'm glad that the hyper focused manager , confused hostess & non attentive server were able to congregate in the kitchen chatting it up -next time don't stand right by the kitchen window that's super rude for sure . the food was amazing , next time I'm ordering to go stars for the cook because my veggie burrito was delicious! if this manager+staff doesn't get it together they won't make it In this area (the old frugatties ) . Well we were super excited to try this new place. We left very disappointed. Why? My wife and I ordered two watermelon margaritas for $14 each wow! But ok - we decided to try them they might be good right? Wrong. Glass full of ice, tasted like Tequila, no watermelon flavor. Just bland margarita mix and tequila. 4 sips and it was empty. Now I'm staring at a $14 glass of ice. I got the cheese enchilada, the chill relleno (my 2 favs) and my wife got a shredded beef taco. Awful. The enchilada and relleno were covered in the same sauce - which was tomato based. REALLY. If I wanted to tomato sauce I'd go Italian. Both had cheese - it didn't melt - that means its cheap. Explains why it was bland. Wife said taco was terrible - no flavor. $60.00 out the door and wish I hadn't gone there. I saw one couple sit down, look at the prices and leave = they were the smart ones. Also, bunch of kids standing around in the kitchen doing nothing and chatting all night. I've been waiting for this place to open since their old location closed. They did an amazing job on the remodel. It's a welcoming concept with a great ambiance! I went there for some classic Mexican food but the QP Spicy Burger caught my eye and it did NOT disappoint. The patty was cooked perfect with high quality beef, and they had a delicious tomatillo aioli that separates it from your normal burger. My girlfriend got enchiladas and loved them. The service was also great. I love when a GM checks in to make sure everything is tasting right, it makes a difference for the customer experience. Definitely will be back. After an extended delay Que Pasa finally opened at its Coffee Rd. location in Bakersfield CA. Unfortunately the wait was not worth it. Their service is the pits. My wife and I went for Monday night football, sat in the bar area, waited 15 minutes before a waiter appeared, ordered drinks, waited 20 minutes before the drinks appeared, order guacamole, waited 20 minutes for the guacamole to appear (waiter forgot our order) ordered a second round of drinks, waited 45 minutes before the drinks appeared (waiter claimed he delivered to wrong table) and to cap off the night, it took another 40 minutes to get our check delivered. The kicker? The bar ran around 50% capacity for the entire game. I will say the the new look for the restaurant offers a very nice atmosphere but it's all wasted by the poor service. read more
