This place is still rockin' We dropped our son off for his C&O canal bike ride and stopped here before heading home. The BEST BLT I've had in a long time - marbled rye, plenty of perfectly cooked crispy bacon, good lettuce and a tomato that actually had flavor. Perfect swipe of mayonnaise. Tried their lunch today. My first impression was how expensive the prices were. I like to eat, so I was thinking that at these prices, the portions must be huge. For 3 sandwiches my bill was $31.03. When the food came out I was dumbfounded at best. Not the stuffed sandwich that I was in visioning at these prices. I do not recommend this place. **Update**- its now two hours after I posted my review, and both of my daughters are hungry again!! Creamery fail. Waffle cones stale. When we told the fellow at scooping counter about this, his reaction was complete nonchalance. Raspberry cheesecake flavor of the day was outstanding, but to pay for a flaccid old waffle cone was very disappointing. There was a lovely awkward pause where we were left there holding the inedible shells as he was there across the counter neither apologizing nor caring. So we threw them in the trash and he went back to scooping. From the looks of it, there were about 8 more or so in the case. So maybe there will soon be a day with fresh waffle cones? This place makes their own flavors!!! The Ice Cream is so creamy and has just the right amount of flavor! I've had so many of their flavors I can't decide my favorite, although Red Velvet is up there on my list. Food is excellent and the ice cream is too, but we waited 45 minutes for a to-go order with no explanation or communication. Literally everyone else in the restaurant was served while we waited. We stopped in because we like to support local business rather than Big Sandwich, but this tends to be why franchises succeed--they are fast. In the future, it would be a good idea to over-communicate with your customers, even if it's bad news. Better than silence and avoiding their eyes. read more

There is an incredible meat selection but only 3 types of breads that are store bought? Why not bake on site? Also the ice cream, which was good, was also really overpriced. On way to home in Cleveland from Washington and got hungry at just the right time. Easy off/on Interstate. Stepped through the front door and was pleasantly surprised. Nice decor, clean, and welcoming. My wife had the BLT which was very large and generous on the bacon. Not two tiny strips of paper thin bacon, it was quality bacon and plenty of it. I had the portobello mushroom wrap, loaded with quality mushroom, onions and peppers. Both sandwiches were delicious! Topped it with a small ice cream cone of smooth, creamy, flavorful ice cream. The frozen custard was okay. Had white house cherry flavor with a scoop of hot fudge. The fudge tasted ok, not likely made from scratch and I should have gotten extra as it didnt last long. It was very full of marachino cherries but not too sweet. The texture was very nice. Ordered a large for $5 +tax, thought the serving size was a bit lean for $5, was a couple of scoops about half bigger than golf balls. (Considering I can get a whole pint of premium brand ice cream for that) The overall flavor profile is nothing that wows but it is certainly a better experience than a chain store like DQ these days. read more

I often go to the creamery and have never had a bad experience until last Sunday. My husband and I took our niece for ice cream around 5:00 pm and on 3 occasions the cook (manager?) blatantly barked orders at and corrected the other staff members in front of us. Once, to direct one young man to wipe down the dining room without so much as a "please". The second time was about FIFO rotation: she came out of the kitchen and (no exaggeration here) yelled "who put the pickles back!?" Proceeding to bark about FIFO. Lastly was simply to clarify a detail about a customers order. The amount of attitude this woman had was unnecessary and made for an awkward and uncomfortable visit. Working in the food service industry myself, I have always known it to be a rule of thumb to not correct your employees in such a manner in front of customers, and this is exactly why. read more

Queen City Creamery is a local favorite. The first time I heard of it, my friend was dialing their number to find out their flavor-of-the-day. They make one from scratch every day and it changes each day and often they don't repeat flavors for a while. My personal faves have been the birthday cake and the Bailey's Irish Creme! Nice place to get out of the heat and enjoy a great scope of deli sous ice cream. We have been happy with everything we have ever ordered here, except for the PB&J (it comes with the biggest glob of jelly on the planet with a faint smear of peanut butter). Stopped here on the way home from Deep Creek & so glad we did! Split the sandwich of the day which was Buffalo chicken and got a cup of chicken noodle soup! Everything was great & came out quick. Ah-maz-ing. During a weekend at Rocky Gap Resort, we ventured out to Cumberland for some grub. With no options for food since Cumberland is a definite ghost town on a Sunday, this little gem did not disappoint. Cookies and Cream and Cookie Dough thrown together into one delicious, creamy and satisfying custard. Definitely make a stop here next time you're in the area--its delicious and has inspired me to do dessert before dinner more often. read more

Cute and pleasant little shop where one can get excellent ice cream and sandwiches. Went here with husband and daughter on the way to a funeral. I'd actually tried it out a few months back with a teacher group I travel with. Very nicely decorated. The ice cream (I think it's actually custard) is made on the premises and I remember the owner telling us that they did a study to determine the best brands of meat, cheese, etc. to use before they opened. The bar is authentic and was taken from an old store in Morgantown WV. I got a veggie wrap, which had the freshest veggies you can imagine. Husband just went crazy over the ice cream flavor of the day. Cumberland has really done a nice job with revitalization. read more

This cute locale place has an upstairs that can easily share as a private party room if you are looking for something like that. A group of us went here for lunch and the food was tasty and the service efficient. I was a bit surprised to learn that a place called the creamery only offers four flavors of ice cream and a sorbet. I would think that for an ice cream shop they would have at least ten flavors! Ces't la vie. Several of us had the manager's special, which was a half sandwich and a soup. The soup was a white bean chili which they promptly ran out of so that was a bit of a fail. To their defense I don't think that they were expecting a party of 14 to come through. The manager's special includes a free cone so we were all excited to cash in on our free cones after the meal. I think the fine print mentions that it is small or a kiddie come or something like that but when I say small think of something that you may see a figurine in a doll house eating. I have had Jello shots twice the size. It was fine for me as I am watching my figure you just need to manage your expectations with this one. read more

Arrived in town yesterday and looked up a deli here on Yelp. Good choice! Their sandwiches were wonderful! I had a tuna fish sandwich and my companion had a roast beef sandwich that they grilled at his request. Oh and the pickles were marvelous! Not every pickle is created equal you know! Then we went a step further and had sundaes. Oh wow, they were excellent as well. They have good ideas for special ice cream flavors every day. Unfortunately, we will be at home when they have Pineapple Upside Down Cake ice cream next week!
