So much for a $40 no chip! It saddens me to even be writing this. This was my favorite place to get my nails done. Over the last 6 months I have visited several times. I used to have good experiences, got what I asked for, and I left happy. Yesterday I was treated disrespectfully & when I made very patient efforts to communicate my concerns, I was dismissed. I came in to get a no chip mani & pedi. I explained to the nail tech that I wanted to try a fall inspired French tip idea with different shades of fall polishes. When I asked for the color palette, he kept telling me to write down the 5 colors I wanted for my design and was impatient with me. I had my fingers soaking in foils and it was hard to use a pen and flip through the colors. I was going for an oval shape. He filed my nails & some of them were uneven & not the shape that I asked. He continued to shape them as he pleased and continued to act annoyed with me. We began the French tip, he started to paint my whole nail & I told him I asked for French. He began to remove the polish and did the French on a few nails. Then he went back to saying that I should just do the whole nail and it didn't look nice. I told him that I liked it French, but he kept saying that it's better to just paint the whole nail. I started to feel like he just didn't want to do the French for whatever reason and that if I wanted to have somewhat of a good experience, to just go ahead with the full color on my nails. This was after he had already put a base coat, a light sheer coat for the french and then the color. The nail polish just kept getting thicker. There were fuzzy bits in the polish that left white and black residue on my nails and when I pointed it out, he continued to be annoyed. After scraping the no chip polish off my nails several times, he covered the parts with a thick top coat that left bubbles and even more thickness in my nails. And on some nails, parts were missing top coat entirely. During my entire manicure, any small modifications I asked for were responded to with deep loud sighs and visible frustration. Pedicure -- I asked for him to be careful with one side of my nail because I had stubbed it and had a minor crack in the nail. I asked for my nails to be cut and he continuously kept filing them instead of cutting them down. He then started to rush through the pedicure so I asked for someone else to do it & had to wait around 15 minutes for the next available tech. Finally, when she came, my experience started to get better. She started from the beginning and cut my nails to my desired length, cleaned my feet up very well, and was incredible compared to the other two techs. I asked for Funny Bunny on my toes, and when she was on the second coat, the color she was using was different than what I asked. (Original tech brought the wrong color). She asked if I wanted my color on top of this but it wouldn't have made a difference after already having the other color under. I had been in the salon for almost 3 hours. I was running late for work, and just waiting for it to be over. I was finally done & tried to explain what happened to the receptionist during my visit. Both my mani and pedi were unpleasant & not what I asked for, and on top of that, I was treated horribly compared to the times I've been here before. I was told I could come in the following day to fix this but I refuse to ever come here again. After 3 hours, who would want to go through all of this yet again? My visit was a complete headache, wasted time and money, they offered me a whopping $3 discount. I paid them $80 and now I have to pay all over again to get what I actually asked for elsewhere. read more

I made a 545 appointment for a basic manicure. At 6:10 I asked how much longer and the young girl at the counter had no idea. Why bother making appointments when they can't keep them. All I wanted was a basic manicure. Don't bother making an appointment because they don't keep them. Besides the overwhelming smell of acetone will knock you out. I think the thing that bothered me the most was that when I said I had to go, they didn't care. No one said they were sorry or anything. They just shrugged their shoulders like it was no big deal. read more

I want to preface this review by saying I really did love Queen nails. The manager is always friendly - greeting us as soon as we walk in, offering water to all his guests, and asking us if we were okay. The workers are usually cheery and are quick to work on your nails. I am always impressed by how well this salon executed complex designs and how neat the work was. Essentially, this was my go to neighborhood salon. This is why I am disappointed to have to leave this review - The service I experienced today was terrible. I had called the nail salon because one week after getting a GelX set, three of my nails fell off (i got them done 9/21, the nails fell off 9/27). This was highly unusual for this nail salon so I wasn't immediately upset. I drove 45 minutes to this nail salon from work ready to receive the typical service. Upon entry I was greeted with a less friendly vibe than normal. Once I got seated one lady worked on removing the gel residue from my nail. She didn't greet me and very hastily applied my gelx (there is still hardened glue underneath my nail that's touching my skin) She asked me what color I had on my nails and I told her the color I had previously. She brought over the nail color samples and when I told her I didn't see my color on there, she grew increasingly annoyed with me. She kept bringing me colors that weren't the color on my nails and I repeatedly told her that wasn't the color and even offered to look myself whilst apologizing. Once she couldn't find my nail she got up without telling me anything and sent the manager to do my nails. At this point I was visibly upset because I am a soft spoken person and speaking up about someone else mistakes is already uncomfortable enough without people at the salon making you feel worse. I tried telling the manager what the issue was but he seemed confused. He ended up getting a color that was similar to the one i had on my nails and painting over the ones that didn't fall off. Then another lady finished my nails by adding oil. The last lady was the only one who seemed nice and wanted to help fix the issue. The icing on the cake was having to pay $10 to fix a mistake that wasn't my fault. The nails weren't cured properly which caused them to completely detach in a week (this has never happened to me). i'm extremely disappointed in this visit and will probably never return. Good customer service is crucial to good business and with prices rising on everything, it's not worth it going to a business where they make you feel uncomfortable for addressing their mistakes. Id rather pay higher prices for a better experience. Workers should never get mad at you for being both vocal and respectful about what you want. Very disappointed overall. read more

Second time going..first was to get a acrylic full set..they came out nice so i went back for a fill in..apparently polish change and nail cut down is extra with a fill in!?!! If I could give it zero stars I would. First of all they have no sanitization between customers. The owner Frankie decides to go oj random smoke breaks and works on clients wrecking of cigarettes! Everyone is not even hiding the fact that they're talking shit about you. Nail techs will abandon you if you're asking too much even if they're not doing a decent job. On this day that I had my last straw, I had been soaking for 40 mins and my mom waiting for the same amount of time despite having an appointment. It was almost closing time and they didn't even schedule me again. The lady cut me with with her cuticle clipper. While I kept asking her to shape my nails because they're too overgrown she started filing at my skin instead. I had lost it by this point since it was soooo painful and asked her to stop and that I don't even want color I'll pay for the pedicure. She gets up to leave and another lady takes over my color. Meanwhile my mom comes back crying because the girl she had pretended not to understand English and didn't shape my moms nails. When I spoke to her she knew perfect English. I called the manager over who was already pissed from another lady that got upset and left. He started screaming at her because the nail tech didn't do a good job and she wanted her nails redone. I told the manager my foot was cut and he asked me never to come back in front of customers. He claimed that I was making false claims and that I cut my foot on my own. Wow. After 6 layers of toe polish I paid and left. I've been there three times and each time I had to get my nails fixed by another nail tech because they're always in a rush for tips. read more

Staff was ok, but this was probably the worst mani/pedi I've ever had. Polish was chipping after 24 hours, my nails kept snagging and breaking from the sides, due to them not being filed properly, on top of the fact they were not filed evenly at length. They also shortened them significantly while filing, even though I repeatedly said I didn't want them shortened or cut down. (I have naturally long nails). They DESTROYED my cuticles, to the point I had tiny strings of skin peeling around my nail bed painfully, and my feet were irritated for several days after my pedicure. Walked in was greeted right away by receptionist. Went to Frankie and he took off my old nails and put new stiletto nails on and I wanted ombre done. I showed him a picture and by far did he kill it . I love the way he nailed the stiletto shape and even gave me a white glow in the dark that changes to blue. He added little hearts like the photo showed. Now I been to many nail shops and that's the reason I came in after two weeks of a nail set on and the place that I normally was going to just started lacking on doing a great job on nails and they were already coming up and I was like I gotta try to find somewhere to go to get these off and put new ones. Came here on a Friday afternoon when my regular place down the street couldn't fit me in and I was on a time crunch. Cute little salon that is pretty clean. Lots of colors to choose from on the regular (OPI, ESSIE) or no-chip options. Massage chair was good. The owner offered me a beverage and checked on me often. This was my first time ever getting a pedicure from a guy. At first I was worried but it was perfect. Like I said earlier- massage on my lower leg/calves was quite strong. Perfect after a day of barre and running around doing errands and housework. He is an older gentleman who was quite nice and laughed/smiled while I was giggling during the callous removal. I am extremely ticklish. They have free parking in a lot immediately to the right, slightly behind the store. If that is full because it is shared, there are also plenty of street spots but remember to pay. Keep in mind that same wax is being used for bikini, face etc. My 2nd visit I set an appointment for 6pm when I got there I had waited 45min before they told me they are unable to serve me. I was still very polite because I understand businesses make mistakes. But this hell hole didn't deserve that. My 3rd visit they did not change the wax again. My skin got ripped during the process. I told them the lady ripped my skin, I would like a refund and I was told they do not do refunds. He did not care at all or even apologize for the bad experience. Keep in mind that same wax is being used for bikini, face etc. The esthetician state boards of 50 states in the U.S. have banned double dip waxing. Here's how it works: When someone double dips, they introduce a tiny, microscopic amount of their bacteria--good and bad, alike--into the dip bowl. If your chip or crudité happens to come into contact with their bacteria, there's a chance that it could make it into your mouth. Keep in mind we are in a global pandemic. A lady asked for her seat to be wiped down. The older male nail tech that sits closer to the window said no it's okay Covid-19 is over. I uploaded pictures of my scarring as-well. My friend recommended this place and Ken especially. Ken is my favorite! She is very thorough and meticulous when it comes to doing nails. I usually get a pedicure and a full set manicure. They have transparent plastic walls they put in between you and the person who is doing your pedicure as a COVID prevention tactic. They use warm towels during the pedicure on your legs and feet. Ken provided great and honest recommendations in terms of colors and how I should do my nails. For example, I had 2 chipped big toenails from stubbing my toes and Ken suggested using tips to make my toenails look symmetrical. Best suggestion ever! They don't charge extra for coffin shape and Ken is a coffin shape pro. She's a regular full set gel nail pro and a powder dip pro (she doesn't make them too thick). I went to Queen Nails in their first few months of opening. I had desperately needed to get my nails done and I was unsatisfied with my current nail situation. I walked in and Frankie took me in right away. I am very picky when it comes to quality and color of my nails. If I am going to pay high price for my nails, I need the best. I had such a wonderful experience that I only go to Queen Nails. They were affordable, ALWAYS had the newest trends, ALWAYS great service, and ALWAYS the BEST quality. My nails usually last me for up to a month until I need a fill, which is great for my busy schedule and I don't live near there anymore. I moved away for 2 years and I never found a place that did even half of what Queen Nails does. When I moved back into the city I tried a salon near me and they broke within a week. No where else near me would take me, didn't have acrylic, or was rude. I had to make the hike to RP to see Frankie and IT IS WORTH IT!!!! I will always be back. I guess I should have taken it as a red flag when I saw multiple Black women angrily leave the shop and argue with employees about the service they had received. But I stayed. I paid for the most expensive no chip mani pedi in my life (with my real nails). The woman was so rough with me that my finger began to bleed. She did not know what to do and kept putting some oil (and way too much pressure) on it which only made it worse. This was the first time that a no chip has ever chipped after 4 days. This location is right near my job so I decided to give it a try after work one day 4 pedicures ago. I called to make an appointment for a pedicure for me and my co-worker availablability was not a problem at all. I absolutely love this place, when I looked it up I saw the different type of pedicures they had I was unsure of which one to try. However, when I first went they didn't really give me an option toward what type of pedicure I wanted, so I guess I've just been getting a regular no chip pedicure? Regardless, I really enjoy this place. They always take me in with no hesitation, I normally go after 5 pm, all the times I've gone the place is always busy. I've only gotten no chip pedicures here. I do go I want to say once a month and the no chip has lasted every time no complaints there. They really go in and make sure they get any ingrown nails. Staff is always so friendly and very attentive. Overall I will continue to go here. I do want to try to get a manicure of some sort in the near future, ( I'm on a no acrylic break, because my nails have gotten so weak over the years). No chip pedicure I think is about $40-48? I should probably keep track of these things for my reviews lol . But I do know that they charge a fee of like $1.50 or $1.75 for using a card. So save yourself a coin and take cash! 1/29 : Woke up with so much pain to my nails and cuts on my cuticles. I'm sick I really sat there and allowed this and paid for it because I didn't want to be the "angry black girl" when I should of raised hell because I'm a human who paid for a shit service. Also Frankie was siting there throughout witnessing this, how his "nail tech" was with me, he doesn't care. They don't care, she laughed throughout. As long as you pay. Smh. We can't keep allowing such treatment and paying for it. Then he proceeds to get my old polish off me with remover, it stings, I let it be known and he acts as if I'm making it up. It's so much more, but all this I just let left. Didn't even cared if they dried at that point. He acted as if it's nothing wrong with my nails. This is right after I left, I couldn't wait to leave to write this. You guys be the judge! Nice local nail salon. This was my second visit and first pedicure. This is a great little salon for those who like to have a variety of color options at an affordable price. Remember though you get what you pay for. My nails turned out great and my no chip from last time lasted about two weeks. The pedicure was ehhh. Not bad for the price but not excellent either. Took about 30 minutes total which isn't bad. My only complaint is is that the girl who gave me a pedicure (possibly new) used this green/yellow scrub block (probably for buffing nails) on my legs. Now it stunned me a bit when she started to do it but i didn't feel any real pain. Once home I took a shower and my legs sting. I believe I may have micro cuts on my legs. My partner also received a pedicure and his tech did not do this to him. He also believes the pedicure was so/so. This place is a joke. I used to love coming here & getting my nails done with Helen. She was always so sweet & knew what she was doing. Payed close attention to everything & made sure my nails were perfect. For some reason she no longer works there and the 3 times that I've gone back to get my nails done it's been bad. 2 times I had my nails done by some guy & no offense the nails just weren't good. The shape would be weird or the nail color had some streaks. Just today I had my nails done by some lady who was so rude. Instead of talking and asking she would literally just tap my hand and pull on it so roughly. She kept looking at me with a face full of attitude and at one point rolled her eyes at me because I asked her to repeat herself. My nails were streaky and so messy. I said I wanted long nails and she completely ignored me and gave me these short little nails. I should have said something but I was so upset that I needed to leave and honestly I rather fix them myself than have anyone in there try to fix them. The first time I went to this salon was last Monday. I waited an entire hour to get serviced. Because it was closing, things were rushed and I received only 2 coats of light pink on nails (to save time I guess?) I didn't know you needed a third nor that it would chip before the week was over. Paid 78 for no chip mani pedi and gave a generous tip though my cuticles were not done (she gave me oil to put on at home myself!! LmaoI). I called back and went in to make an appointment to fix it which prompted a screaming match between the staff in a foreign language and ended with making an appointment to fix it today. When I went back, a man serviced me. He "fixed" the nails by painting over two coats with a minimal buff. They're cakey and he didn't even paint the part of the nail that grew Lmaoo. It was my first and last time. I went there to get gel nail polish and whoever was doing them was doing good job at the beginning but then they got busy and she kept trying to do everything fast. She did 4 color layers on one hand and two on the other and in the end she forgot to put the last layer of gel on one finger. I go to queen nails a lot they do great for full sets and pedicures. But today i decided to get my eyebrows down too treat my self. As she was doing the waxing it didn't really hurt that bad , just the tearing off the hairs part hurt the most. Later on i started noticing that it was really hurting and burning , i went to the mirror and seen this and as of right now it's terribly burning and the skin under my eyebrow is very irritated. Won't be getting eyebrow wax anymore but will continue getting my nails and feet done. read more

I went in here on a whim after a miscommunication in scheduling with my usual nail salon. I came in wanting a new set with pink and white ombré. The tech said that my current set was fine and I shouldn't need a new set. I told her that I wanted pink and white ombré and then she told me that for that I would need a new set. The tech was the one that has a station in the back room. She started by ripping off my old set with a tip that is used for a new set. It hurt so bad and she kept saying that my nails are too thin. Everywhere else I've went they soak them off. She also made my nail bed bleed for two of my nails. I asked her to do them longer but she refused. The nails look very crooked in some spots and I am very disappointed in general. The only reason why I am giving an extra star is because the ombré was the saving grace. It looks really good. I really don't appreciate how everything was handled and I had to stop and correct her many times. She even charged me for the take off even though I got a new set. read more

Frankie, you are going to lose your regular customers if you don't better check who you hire. So this is my regular spot, it use to be, been going here for years. Normally they do an excellent job and the polish lasts for months. Unfortunately the last two times have been disappointing. I was not going to write a review, but yesterday's appointment has left me in pain and has already washed away. First of all it was crowded, so it seems the technician I got was in a hurry and irritable. I asked her to do a pedicure duo tone of green underneath with glitter on top. This was for a wedding next week. I've gotten the glitter on my small toes before there, in fact the polish she wiped off was the same technique from her co-workers. Yet she insisted that it could not be done and she could only do the big toe. After I had to walk her through how to actually get the glitter on the small toes, and her coworker confirmed. She was not happy, she used the stick method meant for the small toes on the big toe as well, needless to say there wasn't much on the big toe and it was bumpy. At the end she asked me if it was good, and I was about to say needs more glitter, then she insisted it's good, and rushed me off the seat to the dryer. On top of that, she did not finish the second coat of the solid under color. When I got home I noticed on my big toe the green was streaky on the sides. So I tried to just use some glitter polish I had at home to cover it up, since I don't have time to go back to get it redone before I fly to Florida for the wedding. Unfortunately, during the appointment as she was cutting my cuticles she cut so deep that it actually hurt, I had to tell her to stop. Every time my toes went into the water they burned. And today it's worse. When I took a shower my toes were burning and the polish washed off down to the green under color. I am really afraid it is going to get infected. As a final note, no one bothered to spray or cuticle oil my nails when they were dry, they just left me at the dryers and forgot me. So I sprayed it myself and oiled it myself, since I noticed the teenage girls next too me were doing the same. The last time I was there they also forgot me at the dryer for about 2 hours, until Frankie was like what is she doing here still? Some people are cool with DIY, so if you're cool with that great, but I much rather not DIY when I paid for service. And yes I do understand some Vietnamese, but I do understand partially what you are saying, enough to piece stuff together. So maybe respect your customers a bit more and don't assume they can't understand you. Like I said they are normally good, but I think because they are getting too busy the quality and customer service is going down hill. I shouldn't have to be a b^@$ in the business to get good service. I go to nail salons to relax not manage bad employees. So anyone have any suggestions for a new regular spot? read more
