Queen's Bakery is delicious!! Did I tell you they're delicious? This is a small "mom & pop" bakery that's been around for quite some time. I would only get their almond cookies and rice puff pastries from here. They do sell these items at other places, but once you try them from Queens, you'll never buy them anywhere else. Of course, it's just my opinion, but I grew up in the Chinatown area, and have been coming here since I had diapers. It's great place to drop in for a snack as you walk around Broadway amidst the other shops and store fronts. I love the almond cookie and bread here , thr bread is soft also the rad bean bread is relly good.

They have great, fresh-baked bread (about $2.50 per loaf). You can choose from plain white, wheat, egg, coconut, red bean, cake bread, etc. Buy one loaf at a time, because I don't think they use any preservatives. The bread goes stale and then moldy in a few days. I love the coconut bread. It's light and just mildly sweet. They have individual buns, too, including the ones with custard inside, butter croissants, buns with dried pork and green onions, buns with hot dogs, cream... the list goes! The last time I bought these they were less than $1 each. Great for road trips and to pack in your carry-on for a mid-flight snack. I love their almond cookies and "rice puffs." Before reading all the yelp reviews, I had no idea how much attention the latter gets. :) The individual cakes slices are good, too. They range from $2.25 to $2.75 per slice. Before trying Porto's Bakery cakes, I thought Queen's had the best. I now prefer non-Asian style cakes because they're usually more decadent, but if you're looking for something light, fluffy and not too sweet, Queen's is your place. I like the black forest (choco/vanilla cake layers with chocolate shavings and cherry on top), peach cake (they use canned peaches) and strawberry shortcake (fresh strawberries). I've ordered their custom cakes before. Very reasonably priced. I think the last time I bought one, it was $18 for a quarter-sheet. It was enough for 14 people. Found this place through my grandma! (: It's a tiny little bakery with a tiny little table enough for two to sit on fold out chairs and enjoy their pastries. Nothing fancy, just a bakery with good eats. I think this place is co-owned? The breads and pastries scream ASiAN but the cakes for special events (tiers) were more of a mexican style. They had NEON buttercream frosting/flowers/decorations. :X Their shredded pork buns are soo delicious! They put an extra layer of shredded pork in the middle of the bun and that makes all the difference in the world. :D My grandma lovess taro buns and I got her to try the ones from this bakery. Let's just say that this is now her favorite place to get them. As she puts it, they evenly distribute the taro spread so you get a taste in every bite! yummmm. I used to go here a lot as a kid and occasionally I come here as an adult. Chinese bakery that sells those sponge crème cakes with some fruit. Slightly sweet and very light. Reminds me of the pleasant simple days in my childhood. The bread is nice and soft too. That being said, as much I love their cakes, they're a bit steep in price. Over the years, they upgraded their cakes to having more fresh fruit but the base price is now much higher. The cakes used to be bigger and averaged around $20. Now they're at least $30 for something not much bigger than a small plate. They're still delicious but that $10 jump for that extra bit of fruit on top is ridiculous. Also, their website is lowkey a joke. Why spend the money to operate the site to only sell one item? (rice cakes). No option of delivery or store pick up. Can't even view their menu. Missed opportunities. TL;DR: Good cakes but expensive. Bread is still bomb. P.S: Was there ever a woven-basket themed cake? I vaguely remember seeing one as a kid but never saw it again. read more

I went here to look for a cake for my sons birthday. Decided to try a ham and cheese bun. It was the last one, so i asked if they had more. The young girl rudely replied, if its not there, then it's obvious we dont have more. I asked her to heat it up, and i took a bite only to find out it was a sweet cream bun. I told the young lady this is not ham and cheese and once again was completely rude and out of line by blaming me for grabbing the wrong bun when i clearly asked her if she had more. Then all i asked her to do was throw it away because i couldn't eat it as I'm diabetic and couldn't have it. Instead of just throwing it away, she again blamed me for grabbing the wrong one when all their stuff is placed in specific areas. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. I have been to plenty of places that would either offer me another item or refund. I didn't ask for any of that. All I wanted was for her to toss it away. I suggest going elsewhere as this young rude girl who works there is completely bad for this business. I took my business down the street and was treated like a customer should be treated. read more

I think that they had another location in Alhambra a few years ago but has since closed. Queen's bakery not only is well known for the cookies but the rice puffs which are very sweet and chewy. There is street parking very limited there are parking lots around. This place is very small one table and two chairs inside not even sure if the table and chairs belonged there this place is more of a bakery you come to to take out or pick up to go. Located in historic Chinatown near downtown Los Angeles Queens bakery is bringing yummy pastries to the world. Now let me tell you about my unfortunate incident when I went. I was walking down the sidewalk and this place caught my eye. I went in and saw they had taro bread!! Never had I had taro in the form of bread! Unfortunately, they only had this available as a giant loaf of bread. They did not have rolls. So ok, I keep looking at the display case and saw they had pineapple coconut rolls! I never had those so I got some to try ( i think they were more like croissants instead of rolls). I also saw some other croissant looking bread that was like almond pineapple flavor! I was so excited to try the new goodies that I picked up 3 of each (dont judge ok). When I went to pay the girl told me there was a minimum of $20 to use a credit/credit card! I was so sad because my total was like $5 so nowhere close to the 20 and I did not have enough cash! So i walked out of the bakery disappointed that i did not get to try those delicious pastries. and to top it off there were ATM nearby. Sad day. So if you go please bring cash or be prepared to buy half the store if paying with card/credit. read more

Ever since I was a little girl and if I was good, my parents would take me to Queen's Bakery. I LOVED everything I got. From their birthday cakes to their sponge cakes. However, there is this one absolutely delicious bread that I can't live without. It's their Vanilla Bun ($1.50). It's soft, slightly sweetened bread, with sweet butter cream and coconut sprinkles. Love, love the Mandarin Bread here. They have two different sizes. A big one and 3 small ones (which are good for sharing.) There's nothing inside, but there's something about it. I always came here for their rice puffs as a child and was surprised when my cousin said she got her wedding cake from here. My wedding was on 10/7/2017 so I ordered my 3 tier cake from Queens Bakery. I showed them photos of an ombré style where it fades from a white to light pink color. On my wedding day, I was horrified when I saw my wedding cake because it was HOT PINK on the top layer and white on the bottom... nothing like the photo I showed them. It was lopsided on one side. Literally the ugliest cake I have ever seen. It looked like a cake for a 5 year old girls birthday. They didn't assemble it nicely and I PAID for their delivery fees. I went back today 10/20/2017 to let them know that they messed up on my wedding cake and the owner responded that there's nothing they can do because it's been too long since they made the mistake... How is that a valid reason? Who has time to go in after their wedding when they go on a honeymoon? Beyond upset at Queen's bakery for ruining my wedding cake and wedding cake photos!! The posted hours are not correct. I called ahead of time at 5:45pm and they said they close at 6pm, which is half hour earlier than posted time. I rushed there and got there in 10 min and it was already closed. If the lady on the phone was not present at the store, then please don't tell me that you are still open. Happened to run into this place while I was walking through Chinatown. Small little bakery with beautiful cakes through the window and I had a craving for something sweet so I decided to come in. It's like an 85* bakery with the same sweetbreads. Freshly baked I could tell. Friendly service and prices are cheap. I did enjoy the almond taro bread. I did buy several others and can't wait to sample each one. They did have almond cookies (my husbands favorite) but they only sold them in a box of 40. The sales lady did say they are freshly baked in site so I decided to buy a box for him. I wish I had asked for a sample one before I bought a box at $6.50. They were not very good or fresh baked at all. Dry and tasteless. Oh well ‍. Hope I won't be disappointed with my other purchases. read more

I got the custard bread and it was good , though the custard was more like a pudding and had a strong vanilla flavor. The Taro bread needed more filling but it was okay. The Mango Moose was okay. I drive all the way from northern California to get their almond cookies and today was the first time since the pandemic that I came back. I was so excited to eat them and got 2 boxes. Rice cakes and almond cookies are to die for. They are so good yet so cheap! Every visit to LA, I make sure to bring back a few boxes up north. The rice cakes are so fresh and delicious. As for the almond cookies, you get a lot in a box for $6.50. You can't buy a box for $6.50 when you are in SF and they are not as fresh either. Parking is bad around Chinatown. We always end up paying for the lot and park a couple blocks (around the corner). The area /neighborhood isn't that great either, so be watchful. read more

I am born and raised Los Angeles California and I used to go downtown Chinatown and pick up a box of Rice Puff and they were so addicting. So when I saw they were shipping boxes out on their website I got so excited, I'm all the way across the United States in Atlanta Georgia now and by the time I received their box of rice puffs I WAS HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. they tasted dry and stale aka not fresh whatsoever.
