I like really this location. I personally have never had any issues here. I'm someone who is always observing other and let me tell you my hat goes off to these workers because people are a pain in the you know what. This one lady got so mad because she didn't understand why she had to use the kiosks yet these are the same people who complain about the younger generation ‍ Then you had this lady say, "Oh, you're still requiring masks?".....Lady, we're in a medical facility where everyone in here is being tested for something! C'mon! Then you have people asking to take their kids (all their kids) to the bathroom when there's a Walmart next door. Then you have people complaining that they've been waiting too long. Well, dang! What do you all think the medical staff is doing back there?Taking a nap? There are so many people to attend and you all expect to be seen in less than, what...12 minutes?! Smh ‍ Anyhow. A very pleasant experience with Yessenia today. She didn't make us wait and she was extremely patient with my elderly Mother in Law. She went above and beyond to help us get ahold of the doctor's office for more labwork. She was very pleasant and friendly and just made the whole ordeal of giving a sample, better. I scheduled a appointment online and it was very easy to find the location and check in. I was able to come in before my actual time and the service was fast and friendly. I was done in 15 minutes ! I'm feeling so sorry about the the patients who come here and are treated badly experienced something very bad so what I found is that this girl guys were behind on their schedule so I was there at 11:45 and I was supposed to see the doctor or the technician at 12:00 a captain asking them and they took my blood samples at 1:30.. not only that anytime when I was going to the window the lady was very rudely saying be patient sir your name will be called. I also noticed if somebody was late 5 minutes from his schedule time they were sending them home to book another appointment that was rude. If they're late they're going to make you sit and wait. But if you are late they're going to send you home to book an appointment again wow I don't think anybody should go to this location the employees are really rude. I was skeptical as I read yelp reviews about long waits even with appointments but decided to give it a go. I arrived ten minutes prior to my appointment time and since I had already filled out check in info on my phone, I didn't have to do it there. my temperature was taken at the door and the same young lady asked for my paperwork and insurance card. She then gave it to another person behind the desk. I then sat socially distanced for a few minutes and was called to get blood drawn. Jocelyn was nice, professional, and I had an overall great experience. They must have read all the bad reviews and made changes because I had a very positive experience. As a registered nurse, and only there to drop off a sample for my four year old daughter has requested by the doctor, I was very disappointed when I went to this place and there was a lady who appeared very ill in the waiting room she was coughing and sneezing and it appeared like she needed to throw up. I verbalize my concern to the person there because there were no masks available for this lady to grab. I think Quest Diagnostic's La Palma IT team have to root cause their appointment system's failure !!! ... I have made an appointment successfully online 2 days ago, got an QR code confirmation. Upon arrival at the site today, I also managed to check-in successfully via their online link sent through text to my mobile phone. After 30 mins wait (20 mins after my scheduled appointment), upon inquiry, the staff told me that I am not in their appointment system ... WTF ? A few people queued in front of me also encountered the same problem. Other than this, back office support has done a really good job though. read more

First, life is difficult for everyone right now, so when it comes to people in customer-facing jobs I am willing to deal with wait times and confusion and mistakes because the front-line teams bear the brunt of everything and I appreciate their hard work. But, I cannot give the team at this Quest a pass, they are just nasty and rude. Yes, I get that their job is hard. Yes, I understand that the system overbooks patients here, and that is not the staff's fault. But to consistently discriminate against the elderly and disabled in the name of 'protocol' is unforgivable. To be rude to people for asking questions and trying to understand a queuing system that changes from day-to-day is problematic. To raise your voice when people ask questions just shows that maybe you need a vacation, or a new job. Before I go on, let me tell you what is good. The phlebotomists are great, and many are amazing. What I do have to question though is how they can feel comfortable drawing blood from patients that cannot read or write or even know what doctor sent them for what tests? I am at Quest almost weekly, and do not have these problems at any other location. I suppose if you are healthy and young and don't have a schedule this location is good, but there are any number of nearby locations that treat ALL of their customers with respect and dignity. read more

If i could give this location no stars, i would! My daughter mad an appt weeks ago and when she checked in, she was informed they couldn't find her orders. She called the doctor's office and the orders were faxed over within 10 mins! Her appt was at 10am and by noon, she was still waiting to be called!!! There are other individuals here who are wonderful, and kindhearted beings with an understanding that you are here for a reason to get help and medical treatment should you need it. The first day I went for my blood test the people there were brilliant. And for that I am giving 5 stars for the good people here. Your work should not be dampered by other individuals who make your workplace toxic. Then when I went to drop off 3 stool samples (because who cares, someone in the office already announced it to the world) there are people like Shirley who are the type of people who get off on treating you like trash. There is a reason why I'm pointing at the paper my doctor ordered to have 3 stool samples brought in- because, genius, im literally being eaten alive by parasites in my intestines. For someone of your speciality and degree there is a course on HIPAA and basic general psychology courses on how to treat individuals in a humane manner and this privacy was violated when you announced my condition out publically and gasped at it to your coworker which was a real bitch move. Then feigning sociopathic ignorance that it was because I said "2 samples" when I said 3, especially after I saw you look at the file on your computer screen and others in the room can also attest and confirm that too. Since you, Shirley, coerced and had me say it outloud- that way it would echo in the room. Which is funny since you literally had my file out on your computer and in documentation that I brought. Yet you said you had on computer just minutes earlier. You dont even know what my life is at home or what I deal with, and even if I dont know what you are going through I still wished you a good day regardless of your abuse, mistreatment, and severe malpractice. I honestly think Shirley should get tested for the NPI or see a psychologist or a psychiatrist to get her aggression and vocal tone checked by a specialist. The worst wait ever, the branch should've just posted for appointment only. Been there waiting more than 2 hours. And the site on line says waiting time is 10 minutes. And receptionist says my complaint doesn't help and need to complaint to the corporate up. I tried to suggest to them that they need to insert walk ins in between the appointments or else the line will not move on for walk ins. These patients have been no food/water too. My mother had an appointment at 1000 am and waited patiently for 45 mins and asked the front desk when she would be called. They told her to wait and check for her name on the screen which her name was not there. Everyone who came after her was seen. She ask the staff who was checking people in that she hasn't been seen and told her to wait and she went to find out what the issue was. The staff asked if she had an appointment and if we checked in, which my mother did with her colleague. She was finally seen an hour after her appointment and the staff did not know how this error happened. We will not use this location again. read more

I've gone to other Quests locations during the pandemic with appointments and I'm out of the facility in 5-10 minutes. These clowns say it's only an estimate time and ignore the fact you scheduled an appointment and walk-in get assistance before appointments. I have tried showing up for an appointment twice in the last month and both times waited over 20 minutes past my appointment time and still had many people in front of me. Figure it out. do not give this location your business. they should be shut down! the staff and nurses have no heart!!! their lack of compassion and respect for senior citizens and those with disabilities is shameful. this also includes the manager of this facility who refused to speak with customers requesting assistance. instead, he sends the receptionist out to address customer concerns. quest diagnostics clearly does not provide any leadership training nor do they care how their personnel are treating customers. this is not healthcare. these are people working solely for the paycheck. shame, shame, shame!!!! also. the allied universal security guard who assists at the door is as ignorant and rude as the entire staff at this location - threatening to call the police on customers and stating solely that only those with appointments will be treated with respect. otherwise, he will have customers arrested. shame on him for speaking this way and threatening customers. note to all - this location no longer is offering "walk-in" appointments. at the same time, the attitude and rudeness of staff when dealing with senior citizens and disabled customers who are not aware of this is absolutely unacceptable. clearly, a blatant lack of compassion and empathy for those less fortunate who do not have access to a computer or the ability to go online. a simple solution could have been to post a sign on the door apologizing for the inconvenience as they transition to "appointment only" service. advice to all ... take your business elsewhere!!!! read more

The wait time is horrible and they take names off the queue before you get seen so it looks like people aren't waiting as long as they really are. Looks like that to corporate anyway... kinda like when you are at Carl's Jr. drive through and they ask you to pull into a parking spot and they walk your food out to you even though there are no cars behind you. The waiting room is so full there is no where to sit and there is only one name on the queue. there are 33 chairs in the waiting room and two people sitting in wheel chairs. I hate this place. Normally I would make an appointment for my blood work and because of covid restrictions I had to do a walk in appointment I'm a high risk patient my Dr wants fasting blood work because I'm a diabetic when I went to schedule an appointment the only thing they had was later afternoon now being a diabetic with low blood sugar in the morning I need to eat to keep me from passing out I checked on line and it said that the walk in time was only 5 minutes so I rushed down there just to be told it will be anywhere from 1-3 hours of a wait great let's hope I don't pass out lol. Quest Diagnostics - It's shows a 5 minute wait time for walk in appointment and I was told 1-3 hours - Laboratory Testing Near Me - La Palma, California

I didn't have the experience like another yelper wrote but it was just bad. This location is the new location in the Walmart neighborhood market shopping center. The old location from Walker Ave. moved here. The inside is a lot cleaner than the previous site since it's new. I went first thing in the morning when it opened and there was a long line already. They make you check in through their tablets. There are three of them but many of the elders here just had struggles with it and did not get a lot of help from anyone working here. People waiting around helped many of the elders with the check in process. I like the quick check in but causes a backup with the elderly and those who have trouble reading English. Anyways, if you have an appointment from the previous location, it will not show up in their system. Make sure you take confirmation of the appointment. I had an appointment and they asked to see confirmation. I showed them the confirmation and asked what time the appointment was. I went early just in case they didn't find my appointment. I was waiting around for 1 and half and finally I asked them when I will be seen as I was half hour passed from my appointment. They did not have it in the pile of appointments. I was pretty agitated at this point but luckily they got me in the next round of people. The person who took my blood wasn't bad. She didn't poke at me numerous time like another reviewer wrote about this place. I like that this place is very close to my home but they still have few things to work out as it is a new site. Just make sure you make your appointment because the walk ins was told it was about two hours long at 8 am! read more
