The friendly service was good. Attentive, but not too much. The food was good. We ordered a shrimp ceviche as an appetizer. It was very tasty, but had jalapeños that I can't eat. The presentation was very nice with avocado slices and tostadas. I ordered green cheese enchiladas. They were two small enchiladas that came covered in green sauce and black rice and beans on the side. The garnish was guacamole and pico de gallo. It was a relatively small serving, but filling. I also had a strawberry margarita that was delicious. We chose a patio seating and it was nice, except for the flies. We read the reviews and we were excited to try this place. We love Oaxacan food and we like to support local businesses, but I am not sure why this place has 4.5 stars. The staff is very friendly, but the food is subpar. It's expensive and very disappointing. The Oaxacan Horchata is beyond terrible. You can tell it's powdered mix. No flavor. Most of the food was either very bland or very salty. Sadly, we won't be returning. Oh and if you're bigger than a size 6 and have wide hips, the chairs will be super uncomfortable. It always has the right type of smoky that holds the fruity accents together rather than being intrusive (akin to getting cigarette smoke blown into your face?). I usually order plates here (Almuerzo Quiadaiyn in the photo), since each one is a mini buffet that you cut up and wrap into tortillas. The experience is like wine with a charcuterie board, but in this case, it's mezcal with a Oaxaca meat plate. Was in the area and after a bit of searching landed on Quiadaiyn since they offered quite a few vegans options and boy did we hit gold! The atmosphere alone is so cute and welcoming both inside and out. We were greeted right away by a smiling face. Once seated a basket of fresh tortilla chips came out along with salsa and they were both so good. We actually ordered a side of guac to go with it. I also ordered a Sangria which was divine and I had the Zucchini Fajitas which were served with rice, black beans and tortillas. Tortillas handmade and delish, fajitas were sizzling and also delish but the star of the show was definitely the black beans! They were so flavorful that I could have had a huge bowl of it along with the tortillas and died happy. Our server was friendly and amazing. Thank you Verenice! My only complaint is that I ate way too much because it was so good! I got the Vegan Chocolate Cake to go and OH MY GOSH was it ever so delicious. Food is flavorless. We got the mole negro enchiladas and barbacoa tacos, both highly recommended by the waitress, and they were disappointing. Not only was the food flavorless, but the drinks were too. The horchata lacked a cinnamon taste and was basically milky water. I am only reviewing because I trusted this place based on the reviews and I feel scammed. We spent $80 on two entrees, a kids plate and 2 drinks, and none of us liked the food. I really want to support a neighborhood restaurant as I live across the street, however the price increases over the last 3-4 years have been completely outrageous. They've subtly increased prices everywhere, as an example an order of steak fajitas use to cost 18$, now 33$ and less portion. The additional 4% service charge to use card has completely turned me off. The staff are nice and friendly and I do feel sorry for them that the owners have taken profiteering to the next level. Adorable place. Servers were so nice and gave me a sample of tepache before I committed to it. They described it like a kombucha, but I never think kombucha tastes as good as it sounds, and this drink did. I got the enmoladas de quesillo, and my partner got the tlayuda mixta. I got the mole Amarillo, which is perfect for someone who doesn't always like the chocolate profile of other moles. Chicken was perfect, mole was so good I was drinking it all up at the end, and the vegetable accompaniments were refreshing and light. Also comes with 3 corn tortillas, perfect for the sauce. My husband got the mole negro, which came with rice and tortillas. I normally don't like mole negro as much because the taste can be a bit too strong for me, but this was a delight! I also love how the moles come with chicken, a drumstick AND a piece of chicken breast. It's not just dry or dark meat, it's a blend of both. Service was astounding. Friendly, would explain things, food came out fast. Plenty of seating indoors and on the patio in the back. Mexican food is always accompanied by these items and they can either enhance your food or vice versa. We ordered the chapulines and molotes as our appetizer. Both were really good. We were a party of 6, we ordered: Chiles rellenos, barbacoa de chivo, grilled cactus bowl, huevos con chorizo y papa, and enmoladas de quesillo. We also ordered 4 tamales ala cart. All of our dishes looked great presentation-wise. The mole in the enmoladas is flavorful, with those deep chocolate notes. The barbacoa de chivo was also delicious and cooked well. This place was amazing! I was not expecting the quality of the food to be so top notch. We were given complimentary chips and salsa that were very flavorful. The three food items we ordered the Un poquito de totos (appetizer sampler), mole negro (comes with chicken), and the barbacoa (soupy). The server advertised some delicious aqua frescas to us and we were pleased with the horchata, mango, and chayote flavors. This was probably the best mole negro I had in terms of flavor and texture. I would eat this everyday if I could. The level of sweetness and bitterness were nicely balanced with the chilies. I never had barbacoa served in a soup form before. It was deeelicious. The Mexican rice served with each dish was also very well-made. I really appreciate the server's kindness and attentive. During dinner.
