I tell them the same thing: I like knowing when I show up, I actually have a spot and a plan. Being able to schedule an appointment beats rolling the dice with drive-up service and hoping for the best. And I'd be leaving out an important detail if I didn't mention the handheld donuts and coffee--they're a nice touch to help feed the fatty cells and wake up some sleepy eyes. Truth be told, I don't even wander too close to that area anymore... those donuts are just a little too tempting. At the end of the day, I've never had a bad experience here--and when something works this well, I'm not about to "fix" it by going somewhere else. I even called ahead to confirm they could handle it, and was told they would look at the car when I arrived. When I got there, the manager told me they couldn't do the job because "his book didn't go back that far," so he didn't know the torque specs for the lug nuts. That explanation was honestly surprising. A '73 Mustang is one of the simplest cars on the road to work on, and the torque spec is extremely easy to find. It took me about ten seconds to Google it. For reference, Mustang wheels from 1964-2004 all use the same 85-105 ft‑lb torque range. What bothered me wasn't just the lack of knowledge -- it was the lack of initiative. If a shop can't look up something this basic, how can customers trust them with today's far more complex vehicles? I left without service and took my business elsewhere. I don't expect every shop to specialize in classic cars, but I do expect basic competence and a willingness to verify simple information. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here.

When I asked why, they told me that they could get it off and left the old one on the car and drained and replaced the oil. I told them they can't call that an oil change and should have told me that they found an issue. I pressed on them and they credited the oil change fee. I learned by going back to Express Oil that Walmart likely doesn't have the special oil filter removal tool since it is deeper than other brands. Express Oil had no issues while they cost $35 more than Walmart. Walmart, if you don't have the tools for a Volvo then you shouldn't sell the service!
