This place was a great find for the Times Square area. It's the type of affordable Vietnamese place that you'd typically see in Chinatown. It's a humble and plain looking restaurant, but the food was too notch. My friend and I had the beef pho and Vietnamese sandwiches. The pho was warm, full of flavor and very filling. The Vietnamese sandwiches were a large portion size and tasted fresh. The pho here is around $13 and the banh mi around $11. Of course you can find cheaper in Chinatown, but for this neighborhood , this place was too notch. read more

It was kind of hard to find this place. They have an upstairs and a downstairs. The Thai tea was really watered down. The pho was interesting. No chili sauce or special topping like bean sprouts that come with the pho. Service was alright. Ambiance was ok. Food was average at best, didn't like the way the meat was cut for the bah mi and the rice was undercooked for the roast pork. Not sure if we went on an off night but the food was not great, and certainly did not taste Vietnamese. First off, we ordered the lemongrass chicken rice plate and pork vermicelli bowl. We genuinely could not tell the difference between the two meats. We all took a bite of each and cannot tell which was chicken and which was pork. We also ordered the raw beef pho. The broth was not clear. There was no garnishments that typically come with pho - lime, bean sprouts, basil, not even hoisin sauce. They apologized because part of their dining area was under construction.We did not have time to wait so we went next-door to Quick Pho.We were so glad we did because the service was quick and the food was delicious. We went past noon on a weekday and it was pretty quiet. By the time we were leaving, there were more diners--mostly solo or two people. It's on the 2nd floor and the floor was not leveled at all, which was a bit disturbing at first, but you get used to it. We shared the Signature Pork Spring Roll ($6+), which was tasty. And I had the Quick Cooked Beef Pho ($12+), which was delicious. They also had the pho in a larger size for $14+. Bland and boring. We got the pho, the noodles with eggrolls, and the viet iced coffee and none of them were good. The only good thing is that it was extremely cheap for New York. The pho was bland and it did not come out with any veggie toppings or the sriracha or hoisin sauce so we had to ask for it and they only brought limes and sriracha to try to improve the flavor. The noodles with egg rolls were plain and had the wrong fish sauce. Typically this dish comes with grilled pork but this one did not have it. The viet iced coffee tasted like bad, bitter drip coffee and nothing like traditional viet coffee. The service was fine but the workers were not super familiar with traditional viet dishes so couldn't answer some of our questions about the dishes. Overall, I wouldn't come back here. read more

Was it the best pho I've ever had? No. But location matters, and this was SUCH a godsend after seeing the overhyped line for ramen next door. Starving and borderline hangry at being stuck in this forsaken tourist purgatory of Times Square, my husband gazed to the skies in supplication for divine help and saw the lighted sign for Quick Pho. And boy, was it quick. We were seated quickly and the restaurant was mostly quiet when we got there. Minutes later our pho was served piping hot and delicious. The broth was pretty good but again - compared to what's immediately around the area it was just such a nice break to be able to eat a hot meal quickly at a reasonable price, while sitting in a place that wasn't crowded with screaming families and children. I wish the egg had been jammy, but I loved the meatballs. they were chilly and thick! The raw beef pho was alright, but the egg rolls in the vermicelli were burnt. We also got the cooked beef pho which was also pretty good. The prices were cheap ($12 small pho $14 for a large pho) for New York. It wasn't busy when we arrived, and they had window seating. The service was welcoming and friendly. When I told them the egg rolls were burnt and we couldn't eat them, they kindly remade the entire vermicelli dish for us and packed it to go in a nice bag.
