I usually won't wait fifteen minutes for FOOD, much less a drink! I also have a hard time understanding why places like this don't open until 11:00. I think a pearl drink would make a perfect breakfast food, but I guess it's not meant to be here. My favorite is still the cookie place at the Public Market in Emeryville. I was craving for some milk tea over the weekend but I was feeling quite lazy because of the holidays so I decided to give this place a try since it's the closest one to me. When I entered there was no other customers in the place and it kind of reminded me of chinatown because they had some Chinese show playing on the TV's. I ordered the lychee milk tea with lychee jelly (i love lychee jelly) and my drink was made pretty quickly. I was only there for a little over 5 minutes. My lychee milk tea was a bit sour for my liking and the lychee jelly had no flavor. I know it might not be their fault for the flavorless lychee jelly because they don't make them themselves so I guess I might give them another try and order something different. read more

I Was a customer. I had an appointment in the evening and had a 20 minute window. I was hungry and stoped by Quickly for a quick grub. I ordered and paid to a lady at the counter, assuming she communicated to the person in the back of my order. The lady left and was replaced by a younger gal. After standing there for 10 minutes and realizing people ahead of me got their order. I asked for my order. The young gal said it takes longer to cook. Lies! After another 5 minutes, I asked for my order again. Turns out, the lady that took my order earlier did not put my order through. I asked the young gal for my refund. A great place for teas (plain tea and milk tea), slushies, smoothies, and fruit teas. They also serve Asian fast food but I have only ordered drinks here. As the name implies, they offer quick service! The kids love coming here. There's something for everyone on their GIGANTIC menu and it's cheaper than Starbucks! I always get a delicious drink and friendly service at the Castro Valley Quickly. They answer my questions about the menu and provide suggestions to this boba newbie. Everything they suggest has been tasty. Haven't tried the food yet. Looks fun, though. read more

I was never really a fan of Quickly, especially the ones in the States. This place is no exception, its drinks are pretty standard in options and taste powdery. However, it has really cheap specials. All of the noodle dishes look like they just buy instant noodle from 99 ranch and microwave it. (yet for some reason they took forever for the microwaved noodles, my laundry was done before they gave me the food) The popcorn chicken is pretty lackluster. As standard with all Quickly, its cash only. The only reason I was a semi-repeating costumer here is due to that its next door to where I do laundry, and thus I would need to come here sometimes to break my $20 just so I won't need to carry so many quarters around. She charged me for 2 orders and when I corrected her she proceeded to scold me. When I told her that I said 2 pieces and not orders she tried to argue with me. This is honestly the worst Quickly ever and I'm not wasting another dime here. I've already been disappointed with how S-L-O-W their service is - they have 20 min. parking spaces in front but you'll for sure be waiting longer than that, even if you just ordered a simple milk tea - but after my last visit I'm done with this Quickly. I came for an early morning boba / snack fix and 3 out of 3 things I ordered were not available, including tapioca. How in the world does a tapioca place not have tapioca?! It was funny, every time I tried to order something I either got "Sorry, we ran out" or "Sorry, the machine's not working". They have a ridiculously huge menu but it seemed like the only thing they have is plain milk tea. I thought I just had bad luck with the menu but two other customers came after me and when they tried to order they got the same responses too. It's sad that being the only tapioca place in the area this store doesn't seem to feel the need to put any effort into it's business. I feel sorry for the girl working the counter. It's not the cleanest and most aesthetically pleasing place, but compared to the nearby Quickly's, this one offers better customer service. Okay, the customer service is all right, but comparatively speaking it's much better. For instance, they are willing, for instance, to customize the drink specials meaning less sugar/sweet without charging me extra (as it should be!). That is nice of them considering the one in San leandro, CA and Hayward, CA (near Chabot College) won't do that. I like that it's near a large street (off of Castro Valley Blvd.). It might be a bit hard to find because it's a bit hidden inside the shopping lot near Chipotle (lot next to it) and Lucky's. I got a drink there today and thought they did a decent job. Parking: Easy to find. By the way, like the rest of the Quickly's I've ever been to, CASH ONLY which is a minus 1 star. read more

Horrible popcorn chicken. The texture is different at this Quickly than others I've tried. The avocado shake was brownish green and tasted nasty. It's supposed to be green. I returned it and told them it didn't taste right and they didn't say one word. I was completely ignored. The manager/owner guy was sleeping at the cashiers counter and never said thank you or hi. The customer service is lacking. The other day I tried calling inquire if they had any spam musubis ready because I know the wait times for hot food can get pretty long. I was on hold for 3 minutes before I gave up. I figure they must have been busy but when I got there the place only had 2 people inside and the cashier was on her laptop. Very slow service when none is here besides they dont have kitchen up and running. Everyone came after me got served and out before me.

There was a technical difficulty with the register. Took them 15 minutes just to realize they just had to restart it. Had to calculate payments with a pen and paper which held up the line. Besides that, this is the first Quickly that I haven't had a real problem with. Not yet do I want to call this one "Slowly" when it comes to making the drinks. read more

They won't stamp my buy 10 get 1 free card even though my card says they should. My card says "one stamp for each drink over $1.99". I buy one of their specials for $1.50 + $0.50 for boba + $0.50 for large size = $2.50 + tax = $2.74. The owner/manager claims that the stamp does not apply to their specials, even though I spend more than the $1.99 min requirement listed on the card itself. Isn't this false advertisement? Bobas from Quickly are generally not as good as those from Tapioca Express or Sweetheart Cafe. I personally think Sweetheart Cafe has the best bobas, as they are warm, firm, fresh, and tasty, just like they way I like my "bobas". 2 stars for the good value that the specials provide. It quenches the milk tea craving but the quality overall is mediocre at best. And they won't stamp my damn card. False advertisement! Can I sue? read more

Quickly's seem to get a bad rap on Yelp, but I think this one is good. The pearls have always been the "just right" chewy, but not too soft consistency, with a carmel sweetness (which much to my chagrin I have not been able to reproduce at home). I love their watermelon aloe delight -- perfect, bursting with watermelon flavor. Had the same drink in the Milpitas Quickly and I swore they used artificial powder instead of real watermelon. read more

After waiting in line to pick up my order (which I saw sitting there) for about 5 min 1 of 2 employees came over to drop off a larger order and started shouting the name of a person who wasn't in line. I step out of the way of the shouting and the woman behind me steps up to pickup her order. Employee hands her her order and then walks away. I say "excuse me, I'm here to pickup my order as well" and point to the table. The woman comes over and hands it to me. I ordered a bubble tea and there was no boba in the drink. I ask and she explains that I had to add it (going back to look at the add ins - adding boba to bubble tea isn't an option). Every other place on the planet I've ordered bubble tea has boba in it... that's the "bubble." The tea was super bland, more like watery milk. Overall super disappointing. Their snow drinks are good but that's all I would get from there in the future and now I know what to expect from a customer service perspective at this location. Wifi is working today! I usually go here for waffle cut fries and Thai Iced Tea. Had a bad experience with this place prior where they were all out of Thai Iced Tea and they had some freshly made tea but it was too hot. I was willing to get the jumbo sized cup worth of thai iced tea, even though it was still cooling off, they just might've needed to double the cup for me. I think the staff handled that situation horribly and couldn't come up with any decent solutions so I could get my beverage and take it home. Ended up getting something else instead. Oh, and contrary to their name, their service is anything but quick. I'm not sure why they don't call their place, Slowly. At least they have free wifi and this location appears to have a Jenga set on site. Unless of course, that group of tweens brought that in themselves. read more

It was my first time ordering here because my son wanted to try it. The drink was good, not sure if the boba suppose to be tough or not since it's our first time having it. The counter staff was friendly. But then I ordered some snacks to taste them out but they were not what I expected :( the chicken popcorn was undercooked - some were pink and some were rubbery the fish balls were also undercooked as well. I asked if they could cook them longer since I didn't want to get sick. They did for another 5 minutes. But once we got them back, they were still rubbery! Not sure if this is how they suppose to be like or what but I didn't want us to get sick so I threw them in the garbage. Not sure why but the lady in the kitchen came out and took them out of the garbage and took them back to the kitchen. That just yuck me out!! Why would she do that?? First I paid for that (no refund was given) second I threw them away in the garbage with other nasty stuff, what was she going to do with it in the Kitchen... so nasty!
