I was greeted right when I walked through the door. The cashier was friendly while I took a look at the snacks available on the menu. Once I decided on what I wanted the order was taken promptly and I took a seat in the spacious dining area. I only wanted a snack so I ordered the Basil Popcorn Chicken. It was fresh and hot as it was cooked to order. With fresh basil and I added shaken chili and white pepper it was absolutely delicious. While passing through Hayward & wanting a boba tea, T4 was one of the suggested places. I've gone to the one in San Leandro but not to this store. It was quite spacious, so I could see people studying or hanging out at this location. Service was done in person so bc it wasn't busy I was able to just tell the cashier my order. Unfortunately instead of her hearing I wanted the Rose Tea, she gave me the Roasted Oolong tea. I didn't bother to go back to correct it but next time would probably just order it from the kiosk. Order: Roasted Oolong Tea w/boba-fragrant oolong tea with 50% sugar & no ice was the right amount of sweetness, but I would rather have had the Rose Tea. Despite this order mishap, the service is great. I was even shown where to park when I come back next time. Just go across the street & you don't need to worry about a time limit. The quality hasn't changed after all these years, and it was reasonably priced compared to other boba shops (around $5-6 for a large?). As I was leaving, I realized I forgot to add toppings and went back in to request if I could add lychee jelly (and pay the extra cost). The auntie and uncle behind the counter kindly added it without charge, and despite my insisting, they smiled and reassured me that it was okay. I had a taro milk tea w/grass jelly less sugar & an order of their fried squid. Both were made to perfection. The place was clean. It was a rainy day & a very nice young lady that was w/a group of friends hanging out inside ran to open the door for me as I walk w/a cane. I decided to stop by to get a hot drink since it was cold outside. I didn't have to wait long after I placed my order since there were only a few people inside. My go-to order is The Earl Grey Milk Tea with Agar Pearl 50% sweet. The agar was super melted when the drink was hot, but once the drink started to cool down, the pearl was the perfect texture (super chewy). I have ordered this drink in the past, and from my memory, it was always chewy even when the drink was hot. T4 has always been one of my favorite boba places to go. We usually always order the same thing each time we go because we know what we like. I usually like to call in before I go, because their online ordering system is a little slow. I think ordering via phone or in person is faster. The staff is pretty friendly and their drinks always hit the spot. I always have to get the basil popcorn chicken when I go. They have the best popcorn chicken! I don't know what they put in there, but I know there are a lot of spices! My go-to milk tea is always the wintermelon, and my husband and son always get their favorites: pineapple slush and strawberry milkshake -- all with boba! T4 is located in Downtown Hayward by the movie theater and is a decent spot for some boba. I've been here twice now and I'd have to say the quality of the drinks seems to be pretty good here. I've been here pre-pandemic and my most recent visit was a few days ago. They do offer in-door dinning now, but it's limited seating of course. I've had the Thai tea, Oreo Potted Milk tea and both were pretty good and tasty. The quality is there, for a T4 branch that is. I've also had the Fried Tofu, and while it was decent, the portion size was kinda small for what you pay for. It's like $5.35 plus tax, kinda expensive for the portion size. They should be giving you more. Other than that, the customer service is pretty decent. The people here all speak Cantonese, so if you speak it, you can whip that out. Before going to the theater next door, my friend and I stopped by T4 for some drinks and snacks. I ordered the Winter Melon with Cream ($3.75) with Aloe toppings (+0.50cents). The drink was yummy and refreshing. Since winter melon isn't a common flavor, I really appreciated that they had this here. The only thing was that my drink seemed to be gone way too quick, so I'd minimize on the ice. You can also adjust the sweetness level, in which I usually go for 50%. My friend also ordered the Popcorn Chicken ($4.50) and Fries ($2.95). The fries are a thicker cut, which was pretty standard. I only found two! Fried tofu texture is like agedashi, lightly coated and fried. Panda milk tea looks like regular milk tea with a mix of white and traditional boba.
