I finally joined yelp because of this experience... my worst experience EVER! i've been here many times, but today was like no other. i walked in, place was empty, the bitch came up not smiling and i told her what i wanted and she didn't even asked what size or anything. Told me the total and walked off to get the froyo, another girl, the nice one, came n got my money. The bitch came back with my froyo, n just kinda dropped it onto the counter. WTF? WTF is her problem. I wanted to punch her soooo bad. Also, the froyo was all flat and some were drippin from the side and the nice girl saw it and said something in chinese and i'm pretty sure it was bout how the froyo looked and the bitch just walked off. I was shocked to see a sign out front that said Quickly FROYO one afternoon so my friend and I decided to check it out after lunch. We asked if we could sample some yogurt to help us determine the size to get, and the lady behind the counter just said no. End of story. What?? How about "sorry, no we don't." Eh, either way that sucks. This is the only froyo place I've been to that doesn't let you sample anything. Ok, so you can't sample it, it's not self serve, you can't see the toppings or add them yourself... so after dropping $10 for 2 medium sized cups we were incredibly disappointed. No wonder they don't do samples!!! The fruits were frozen (frozen to a point my teeth hurt), the yogurt was bland and watery, it took them almost 10 minutes to make it for us (someone behind us got there order first somehow), and again we didn't get a thanks or any smiles. Quickly's isn't one of my favorite places for Milk Tea as I have tried some better milk teas in San Diego, New York's Quickly's and other milk teas around Oakland Chinatown. However, they do have EGG PUFFS (hehe)! This Quickly's is usually pretty empty mid afternoon on weekdays, but goodness, it gets really packed and crazy in the little shop around 3-4 (after school). I would advise to avoid that time if possible. Drinks: I usually get Milk Tea with small boba. Most of the time they only have small boba, which I don't understand, but I personally like it better. Their milk tea almost tastes like chocolate milk to me. LOL. It's so watered down/ powdery that it's definitely not an authentic milk tea. I've tried their Passionfruit Green Tea, which is ridiculously sour with an overwhelming amount of syrup. Food: I've tried their Egg Puffs and Crispy Chicken. Yum. Mmm. I love their Egg Puffs (yes I know there's probably better Egg Puffs around Chinatown), but this place is pretty quick when it's not crowded so it's decent enough for me to get my fix. ;) The crispy chicken is the same as any other place I've tried-- nothing new, nothing different. You can't really go wrong with crispy chicken unless you have no knowledge of how to make it whatsoever. Service: Their overall service is pretty good. The drinks are made pretty fast, which is probably a bad thing because it's not quality drinks-- but what do you expect for $2.50-ish. However, the girl working in the front, makes me feel so awkward, while I'm ordering my drink. Anyway, seeing as how I will be moving back to the Bay Area permanently soon, I will be looking for a new place to get my egg puff fix! read more

What can you say about a Quickly's. It's the same everywhere except the prices are different depending on your location. I like this one because I've been going here for a long time and I don't even have to tell them my order anymore. They see me walk in and just make my drink. I hand them exact change and that's it. The girls are super nice to me. I'm sorry for those who don't like that they don't accept credit card. You're in Chinatown. Expect it. It's like going to the Mission and expect everywhere to accept cc. Their prices beat Quickly's in the city for sure. My milk tea without boba cost me $1.62..and yes I know the price by heart since I'm a creature of habit when I go here. I thought that apply jelly would have been a fine addition. It's not like the apple would bleed out onto the taro mix. Nevertheless, I found that my first boba experience was a fine one. I will remain forever loyal to this Quickly, and perhaps to the chain as well. The guy here did seem bored, so I hope more people come around to give this location a shot. Eh. The girl who was working there didn't speak the entire time I was there. I was perusing their menu on the wall for a blueberry snow. i didn't see it. "do you guys have blueberry snow?" i ask the girl. Silence. Errrr. A nod. Okay! I'll take that. Too bad it was just a blueberry slushy. Not snow. DO NOT COME HERE!!! I didn't want to review since all I wanted was my $ back not new popcorn chicken. There was a black hair cooked inside the breaded part of my popcorn chicken. I asked kindly for my $ back but he said since I ate more than half I couldn't get my $ back. I said but I don't want any more chicken since i'm disgusted. How can I express my feelings for taro milk tea in words? Taro milk tea is like the essence of oreos, all filtered and purified into purple bliss. The service here is incredibly lacking. I came here with a friend, and I ordered red bean milk tea, and they gave me a red bean slushy. When I told them they got the order wrong, the cashier didn't even say a word to me. She grabbed a copy of the receipt and pointed out that she typed in red bean slushy. THAT PROVED NOTHING!!!! Not in the mood to argue over this, my friend and I left. Apparantly, a red bean slushy is just ice and red bean blended together. It was undrinkable so I threw it away, and I hate wasting food. It's very hard to find parking space, this place is more like a "walk-thu" because the seating in very limited; has maybe 3 chairs total. The place seem ok, but the place feels dirty. BUT this one always always runs out of the regular sized boba which annoys me because I only like the regular sized boba and not the mini boba. I like their taro milk tea but their boba... is honestly not very good. I'm referring to the pearls themselves. Much to hard and tiring for me to chew and swallow... This is the worst Quickly i've ever been too. The place is small, the employees are slow and on their cell phones during work and the froyo is horrible. I went to get some last friday with my boyfriend after we took my mom out for lunch and he warned me not to get froyo from a place like this but i didn't listen. I ordered a medium cup with mochi balls, strawberries and blueberries. Such a mistake.The fruit was horrible, it must've been frozen or old. I don't think i will be coming back here. read more

OK, first the guy who took my order completely spazzed out and got my order completely wrong, charging me for 2 items instead of the one I ordered. Then, the bubble tea was so full of syrup, it was disgusting. Thank goodness I was able to save it at my friend's house by adding about a cup and half of water. The tapioca beads were soggy and seemed more like fish eyes that had been sitting in water for a few months. Admittedly, this review is based on this one guy who served me. Food and drinks are okay. Environment doesn't seem too sanitary. Staff doesn't seem to have proper hand washing procedures. Some drinks are powdery. Tiny venue, but it's Oakland Chinatown what do you expect!? The price is cheapest from what I've seen at a Nina place for my Jasmine milk tea.. It was on the special board for $1.49.. (originally it's 2.50) As well as regular milk tea for $1.49.. Green tea, black tea, and iced coffee is $.99! Very fast service.. We came here for some boba since it was a warm day outside. The store was UNBELIEVABLY dirty. I didn't notice until after my friend and I had ordered but it was really crusty! There was sauce and drink residue all over the counter. The floors were super sticky and there was just gross stuff everywhere! I mean the store was empty when we walked in... the girl working there could have at least wiped off the counter! There was like milk or drink all over the garbage can so I didn't even want to throw the trash away in there because it would require me to touch it to push the little door. I came here with a group of friends. The drinks were decent, no complaints. They were generously sized, cheap, and came out quickly. However the Ford was awful. I got popcorn chicken and it was still pink inside. One of my friends got sweet potato fries and instead of the orange ones, she got yellow sweet potato fries with sugar sprinkled liberally all over.
