    Sweet potato fries
    Sydney J.

    I ordered sweet potato fries here, as after comparing prices with another boba shop in the area, Quickly had it cheaper (it was $4.75 before tax/tip at the time of my going there which was about half a year ago). Service was fast and I appreciated that the cashier was wearing a mask. You can add your own chili powder or salt and pepper according to your taste and they provide wooden picks/skewers you can use to eat the fries. I thought the fries were pretty decent - crispy and not too soft. The quantity is not huge, and sadly prices have been going up at Quickly over time, but on the plus side that makes it a good portion for a small snack.

    This site has sentimental value to me, since it was where Next Collection used to be located. Imagine how difficult it was to purchase car parts (and all the decals!) back when the mod scene was in its infancy stage. Next Collection was the spot that handled all our needs. Those of you old enough to remember Tuning Concept magazine can sympathize with me. I was sad to see the place go due to widespread competition, but was glad to see a tapioca shop filling up the vacancy. Unfortunately, that place, called My Love Cafe (Justin Timberlake had nothing to do with it), was simply horrible. Each time I rolled by, I counted a collective total of zero patrons. To top it all off, there was a sign out front that read, "Today [sic] special. Tuna fish sandwich $2." I don't know, man. With all the cuisine choices in Chinatown, tuna isn't exactly high up there on my wishlist. That sign was up every single day until the shop finally gave up the ghost. Luckily, a tenant worthy of the Next Collection location - the world famous franchise, Quickly - is now in that very spot. Not much needs to be said about the big Q that hasn't been already. Hurray Quickly. RIP Next Collection.

    Juicy popcorn chicken rice bowl

    Quickly is probably the first boba place I went to when I got introduced to bubble tea. Seeing that this particular boba brand has been dying down, I'm really glad this particular one in Chinatown is still around. This is my go to place ever for jasmine milk tea. That is the drink I order 99% of the time. They just make it right for my tastes buds. I've had jasmine milk tea elsewhere like I-tea, T4, TapEx, etc. but, quickly is the one I always come back to. Some places make it too creamy for my liking whereas quickly has found the right balance of tea flavoring and creamer. Absolute perfection. A large jasmine milk tea with boba usually rings up to $3 only! Sometimes $2.75 even! I don't really know how their pricing works since each time I find that it's a different price (plus or minus $0.25) I don't get food here often since it is more like snack foods and usually I'm out looking for more dense meals for lunch. However, when I do, I really enjoy their popcorn chicken rice bowls. That use to be one of my favorites back in the days. Also, their fried fish balls are delicious. Love being able to adjust the salt pepper seasoning by myself so I can make it just right. In my experience, service is pretty fast. My one drink order is really simple so that may be why. Literally in and out in less than 5 mins which is amazing when I'm in a rush.

    So I ordered the popcorn chicken from this Quickly, and it wasn't fully cooked. The insides were pinker than any safe chicken should be.

    I COULD HAVE BEEN SICK. I ordered popcorn chicken and the inside of the chicken was PINK. Like it was genuinely really pink and really chewy like only the outside was fried. My friend already ate a couple pieces and I will update you guys she is already feeling a bit sick.

    It's a Quicky's in Chinatown surrounded by many others Boba spots. Not the best or worst of quicklys. A small shop that has one table so more so a quick takeout spot. Sometimes I crave a quickly quality drink popcorn chicken and Thai tea snow but otherwise it's like any other quickly and it fulfills that duty. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here much better options around Chinatown but if times is of the essence swing by here. Also you can order from Doordash for quick pickups.

    froyo guide

    I had this brilliant idea to put boba in my froyo, so off I went to Quickly with Jeff C (http://www.yelp.com/biz/quickly-oakland#hrid:LZnNkQFxNKOTIgltpHj58Q). Each of us got a small (5 oz) at the promotional price of 59 cents, with 3 toppings ($1.50), totaling slightly over $2. I chose boba, mango stars, and lychee. Cheapest Froyo yet! Service was friendly, but the store was small with nowhere to sit. We also could not see the toppings available; however, there was a nifty poster with pictures of THIRTY available toppings (not including boba) such as chestnuts, the standard fruits, aloe, yogurt chips, litchi, marshmallows, mochi, and various jellies and chewy things. Check out my picture of the froyo guide!! So the nice lady gave me my froyo, but I saw that it was quite funny looking. Very melted and smothered with toppings. The cup was not very full compared to at other places, but this may be because a third of it had melted already. It was over 80 degrees outside, but still. I ended up pretty much drinking my froyo...not too bad with the boba actually! Now I know why boba isn't on the list of toppings. Jeff's froyo didn't melt so quickly, so we decided that the boba was probably hot, melting the froyo. That was fun.

    Head down 10th street, make a left on Webster and a right on 7th street and head down to the Quicklys there because there's better: +customer service and attention +free wifi +better parking You get the point. This Quicklys always has cashiers that aren't very friendly, always seems to be growling when I pass by, and never have taro! My dear lord. It's right next to my weekend jon, so I'm always headed here for a quick drink and snack. They take long and it's a small spot. I'd avoid coming to this one if you can, but for convenience sake, I do.

    It is a very small spot, so it's a good place to grab drinks when you are on a run. The milk tea was yummy. This time, the pearls didn't have much taste. The staff was friendly and offered fast service. I like watching the music videos and dramas they have on TV while waiting for my drinks.

    Location: Street parking same street as Shan Donf restaurant! Customer Service: The girl that was working was very friendly but was the slowest ever! Decor: It's dirty seriously, I've been to other quickly sand this place is the worst! Presentation of Food: We got burnt eggette a ); How did the food taste?: Gross, it was light weight burnt on the outside and once we bit into the eggette it wasn't even crispy and plus in the inside it wasn't light and airy it was straight gouey as if the batter didn't cook all the way through ugh! Overall Experience: Slow service, horrible food, so dirty?! Would I Come Back?: No I rather go to another place );

I pedaled my bike over there this Wednesday morning, aiming to secure a proper breakfast that would actually carry me past 11 a.m. The shop is cozy, definitely on the smaller side with a few seats inside, giving it that familiar, neighborhood spot feel. It's not a sprawling, antiseptic café, and I appreciate that. I ordered the Laney Breakfast Sandwich, which features egg, fresh spinach, sliced turkey, and Swiss cheese on a toasted English muffin. What impressed me was the intentionality--this wasn't something sitting under a heat lamp, looking defeated. It was clearly made to order. The egg was seasoned right, the turkey wasn't flimsy, and the spinach added that necessary fresh bite. It was a damn good sandwich, simple as that. I paired that with the Berry Lovers Smoothie. The original recipe calls for banana, but I asked if they could swap that out for mango. My people know that mango adds a different kind of sunshine, and they executed the substitution flawlessly. It came out thick, perfectly blended--a rich mix of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and that mango kick. It was super refreshing and didn't taste like I was drinking melted ice. The service was quick and friendly, which is key on a weekday morning. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and intentionally prepared. If you're looking for high-quality breakfast fare that feels less commercial and more like something someone actually cares about, stop by. The short bike ride and the intimate seating are worth it for what comes out of that kitchen. They earned this review.

Our orders were taken and we sat down to wait. There were a TON OF FLIES buzzing around and I kept having to wave them off especially when we got our order to the table, which honestly was gross. We were called to pick up our order, but only 1 of the 4 items was ready: Zadie's Masterpiece Breakfast Sando - Really tasty and enjoyed the biscuit it was on. Skimpy on the bacon, there was ONE piece but overall good breakfast sandwich. Next item ready 5 minutes later: Khadija's Slow Burn Harissa Hot Honey Breakfast Burrito - Really tasty. Definitely flavor packed and would order this again. *BUT there was an issue. Apparently the person that ordered before us asked for the same burrito to go...they NEVER got it and yet our order was ready. The person was pretty cool about it but they were definitely annoyed and gave us a look although it wasn't our fault. *The ordering system seems unorganized with the cashier writing orders on a slip of receipt paper and putting them on a stand by the kitchen. I wonder if the slips were out of order or fell and they skipped this persons to go order? IDK but they need a better system! We tried waiting for our coffees before starting to eat but then our food started getting cold...YOU KNOW WHY?... because the poor person that was taking orders was also in charge of making drinks. Having one person as cashier and barrista is NOT a good idea on a busy Saturday morning. It was hard for them to take a moment and focus on the drinks becuase people kept coming in an placing orders which means we waited for 20+ minutes before getting our drinks. By then our food was mostly eaten! Thankfully we noticed they had a water pitcher for free water which was a saving grace! The wait for drinks was so long that people that were already sitting when we arrived and had already eaten their food were JUST getting their drinks before us. HORRIBLE! I felt really bad for the cashier/barista :( Another turn off, there is no understanding on what to do with dirty dishes. Do we bus our table? If so where do we put it? We noticed people leaving plates by the water pitcher and cups, some put them on the long counter by the coffee area. There wasn't a garbage or compost bin, so we weren't sure where to put food scraps. There was a bin for "Plastic Only" but only the cup lids were plastic and the cup itself was paper, so where TF do you put that? We noticed a black plastic bin that someone had brought out from the back, so we placed our stuff in there but wasn't exactly sure. We tried to ask the cashier/barista but they were slammed with customers so we ccouldn't get their attention. IDK the place is just poorly organized and messy! There are tables for people to make artwork which is nice but on a busy Saturday it might have been nice to clean those areas up to allow people to sit. Sorry guys... *You need a dedicated barista! People waiting 20+ minutes for drinks is insane especially when the food comes out relatively fast. *Please clean up your restaurant. The amount of flies was gross and no one wants to swat them away from food & drinks. *Tell people if they should bus their own tables and if so.... *Make it clear where to leave plates, cups, garbage, compost etc.
